Chocolate Cake for the Devil

It's Friday Night, and most people are ready for the weekend now, I wish I could say I was too but I still have to work a full day tomorrow... It's never a piece of cake to be a working girl in Amsterdam these days, but now that I think of it, I would probably be more interested in the cake than the actual working... Not that I'm anti hard work, but cake always seems like such a good reward... 

I've decided that I should lock myself into one of those amazing, little red rooms in the oldest parts of Amsterdam, a quaint little Lvive Red Room - a backdrop from Synnergy - and even though I'm technically supposed to be working, I've decided to take a little break and indulge in some Chocolate Cheesecake - from Junk Food - that's covered in Strawberries... Although perhaps I should have washed my hands rather than thinking it would be a good idea to get a Mouth Mess as the chocolate went everywhere...

Deserted Beach Party

Had a day off today, and for some reason I decided to get myself into something random... I was out and about where it got far too hot, I NEEDED to find a way to cool down and there was nothing that I could do to make it any cooler.. I guess that's what I get for taking a day out to explore the desert in the summer... Luckily I'm like Mary Poppins when it comes to packing my bags, they contain everything... 

My Mary Poppins style bag manages to contain everything, so that when I'm stuck in places like the middle of the Desert - which in this case happens to be a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - I can reach into my bag and pull out everything I need for me and my pretty puppies to turn the sands of the desert into a beachy playground... 
A cute little radio - which happens to be the Cheeuh Radio's Summer Edition from Aardvark - starts the party as my pool is magically filled with water, and the Pocket Surf Set - a Summerfest creation from the mind behind everfaery - kicks into gear and the wave machine starts so I can even get my surf on... Luckily for me I had put my Furiosa Bikini - a set from Normandy - on under my clothes today... Was very much necessary...

A Last Pop Of Pride

Pride month is almost coming to an end, and what a fabulously bright and wonderful Pride Month it has been. I've not had much chance to enjoy the festivities in SL, but I live in Amsterdam and it's such an amazing place to have some rainbow fun... That being said it's been a wonderfully colourful month, and there's still a couple of days to enjoy the show... 

I know that once the month is over, the Pride feeling will not ever go away. It's not just something that's important for the month of June, it's something that should be remember every day all year, and as I've always said it shouldn't matter who you fall in love with, love is the most important thing and it should always be celebrated... 
Plus it's a DAMN GOOD REASON to get myself drenched in rainbows of all different kinds and party a little... Right now I love rainbows so much that I can't even think straight!!!

Stuck in a Canyon Sized Rut!

Things in my RL are changing a little, everyday I'm hearing about new and amazing things that are happening... Sometimes for the better and others for the worse, depending on the luck of the day, but recently there have been two changes that are making my life more interesting... I've being on a lifestyle course for the last year now, since my terrifying rush to the hospital's recovery was over... I've been told I've lost 20kgs!!! Today was also a change in my working life... I've had the first day of training to become the assistant store manager for the store I work in... 
Changes are happening in my life, and I am kinda excited to be travelling down this road, I just hope nothing breaks down and I get stuck along the way... 

I'd started out on this road, a road that seemed like a road to nowhere and it felt like I was stuck in a bit of a rut... It was like I'd been driving through Canyon Valley - a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - and the car broke down. I'd gotten stuck in the biggest of rut and wasn't able to get out or grow anywhere... 
This road is dotted with signs - you might even say they were Silly Signs, like the ones from Krescendo available at Man Cave now - that I need to choose the right path. Do I want to take the exit - a sign like the one from Lemme - that leads to routine or do I take a jump and dive into a passion?? I walk a lonely road, but I want to know what to do to make it a good walk...

Letting the Dogs Out...

I'm done with work for the day, I've been busy and now that I'm home I'm going to curl up on the couch and watch something a little nonsense like on the TV... 
Now that I'm home though, Rudh on the other hand has work to do... The dogs have been locked up since I let them out at lunchtime, and there is a little bit of a mess in the yard right now... I better get out there and let them out while I clean up, then it's WALKIES time!!!

Asking the Cards for Guidance...

Tomorrow is my day off... I'm looking forward to having a day of relaxation, a chance to do a little photo taking and create a little magic, although these days I can never predict whether it will be able to happen... I've decided to seek the advice of someone that might be more likely to give me a better idea if it will work out the way I want it... I'm off to see someone who will consult the cards and give me some good news...

Bug Hunting in the Creek

I feel like I'm on a bit of a fantasy kick at the moment, but that's not entirely my fault as so many designers out there are making such wonderfully fairytale-ish things, AND it's definitely NOT a bad thing... I always say I feel happy when I'm in a dark, macabre state, but when I can let my inner fairy out to play I feel like awesome sauce... 
I normally let my mind wander and create an amazing story in my head around the fairy stylings, but that doesn't always need to be the case. Fairies can just be super cute little magical pretties as much as they need to be fairies of a specific thing, and so today we're going to play in the garden with one of those special little ladies... She's found down by the creek, where the creepy crawlies like to hide...

If only they knew...

Today is very important for two special reasons... First, and foremost, it's Fathers Day... Happy Father's Day to all of the dad's out there. Secondly, and perhaps although not as important but definitely more delicious. Today is also International Sushi Day... 
I've only fairly recently become a fan of sushi, for some reason I always avoided it but then I tried, and fell in love... I don't know all of the names of the types yet, with the exception of Ebi-Fry, which I will admit that I am addicted to and would be more than willing to eat my body weight in... So, since I can't be with my Dad, I'm going to do something fishy instead... 

In the Mermaid's Cove - a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - the dark, devious little mermaid decided that today be the most obvious day to try that sushi food that she'd heard humans talk about... No idea what it is, she had some delivered to that usual spot on the dock. She grabbed the package and slipped below the waves to try the nosh for the first time... Why, why, why?? Why not make a Pie?

 It's officially the start of my weekend... I´ve done working for the week and now have a blissful two days in which I can rest. I can get things done around the house that I need to do, I can catch up on things that I have been missing in SL, and I might even do a little cooking... I have a bit of a crazing for a pie... Apple, no pecan, no rhubarb... Think it will actually be apples, since that's what I have in the fridge... I am so excited, I can't wait... 

There are so many good things that I think of when I think of Pie... Dean Winchester, American Pie, and chicken run - where the chickens don't wanna be a pie, they don't like grazy... I'm reminded of the Sunday evening dinners with my family as a kid. I LOVE the smells and the fact that they make great leftover breakfasts... 
The more I think about it, the more I want pie, and I'm determind to fill the house with the delicious smells... That's it... Tomorrow I'm making pie!

Welcome to Hell...

I want to go on holiday, I want to be able to forget everything and just relax, but for some reason when I was digging through my inventory trying to put a holiday look I somehow stumbled on something a little bonkers...

Picnics with the Bears

I'm home from work and I'm really, really, really tired and I don't feel like doing anything this evening, even though today's work day was pretty slow due to the heat... I'm thinking I'd like to curl up in bed and read a good book, perhaps something like an adorable fairytale... Perhaps I'll make some new friends and find myself invited to their summer soiree... 

My new friends happen to be a little famous... The are the teddies of the teddy bears picnic, they are also the inspiration for the uber cool carebears, these colorful teddies - from hive... Pictures of the Parade

Today I had a day off, Monday is always going to be the second day of my weekend and it's nice when things are quiet to be able to enjoy my weekend... While I was wandering around I decided to pop over and check out the festivities that are running in the Pride at Home sim... As per usual, as with every year, the sim is amazeballs... The Pride Floats are insanely creative and there's rainbow glitter sparkling in the air... 

There is so much to see at the Pride at Home sim that I know it won't be my only visit this month. I'm also hoping to find a time to get on and enjoy some of the Pride Events... BUT as per usual the floats drew the most of my attention today, I spent AGES looking at each of them, snapping pictures and generally having a gay ol' time...

Radiating Glitter in the Pipelines

WHY IS IT SO FECKING HOT ALREADY??? June is supposed to be the month that things START heating up not go into instant overdrive and suddenly flip from 20-24 degrees centigrade all the way to a HUMID and gross 30-32 degrees centigrade... It's A FECKING JOKE SURELY?!
I feel like I've entered a strange new world, maybe one on a different planet where the temperature is hot and humid even on the dark side of the planet... Mercury perhaps?! A planet where people live under the ground in some weird cyberlicious bunkers, and have to use cyborg parts to stay alive in the heat... 

We'd all be radiating some weird kind of toxic glitter that evaporates off our bodies in the place of sweat... Each person requiring different cybernetics to assist them in staying alive down here... I've had to wear a HUGE pair of Cyberneon Destiny Goggles, since my glasses broke on arrival, AND I have to keep my head held high in this Cyber Collar -from Boutique #187 at Cyber Fair until June 25th - which assists with the air that I breathe, all run by my Powered by Master Chip that has been tattooed into my skin - thanks to Adora-tions...

Dance among the Bubbles

When I have days off it's the time that I find myself able to get creatively happy, and sometimes a new product is released that makes me scream and I cannot get my hands on it fast enough... 
Then it was on a journey under the waves, where the mermaid in me met her fairy match and the mixing became one of the prettiest beings I think we'll ever get to meet... Deep below the surface, the Merfae sparkles and dances in the bubbles...  

Under the sea, where the Merfae dances amongst the bubbles, she's greeted and welcomed into the cove by the adorable floraray Manta Rays - from Yokai - who taught her the dance of the magical sea folk...

The weather has gotten really nice here in the Netherlands. I'm definitely not a Summer kinda girl, I HATE it when it's too hot, but today was warm and sunny, there was a cool breeze in the air and I really wished that I'd been able to be outside on a holiday rather than stuck at work indoors. 
I'd have loved to have been able to go to places I went to as a kid on days like today... We used to visit my nan and grandad at the beach, we'd go to the boardwalk fun fair and play the copper slot machines,we'd eat fish'n'chips and dance as the freezing cold waves tickled our toes... Those were the days, I wish I could go back to them... 

On the Otter Pier - which happens to be a backdrop created by Fashiowl Poses for The Arcade, it's the rare prize in the collection full of amazing poses - of the Ocean City Boardwalk, there are lots of wonderful places to pick up a quick snack at the Hungry Otter, and try my luck at some of the arcade games... Wouldn't you know I was a 'Winner Winner' - thanks to a pose from Extra in a collection at the Summer Carnival - which meant I not only had a fab day at the beach, but I went home with an adorably cute plushie friend too...

Moths love the Lamplight!

It's been a while since I've had a craving to take a chance to do something a little magical. For some reason, I've been finding it hard to focus on blogging lately and have not been able to get in the zone and dip my toes into the fantastical world... 
Today though, as the lights started going down and lamps were lit, the magic of the night starts to come to life.. As beautiful as their daytime counterparts, the moths are the silent dancers of the night's sky... Guardians of the Night Fae, and the messengers of the Eagles, and serenly ghost-like...

Everyone knows that Moths are drawn to the light, they dance from the darkness and seek out any source... The Lanterns in the garden providing the softest of glows, the twinkling into the darkness and as the song goes, my lamp light brings all the "moths to the yard"...

Checking Out Myself

It's the first day of my weekend officially, I've been working so hard, and Sunday has become my Saturday... It means that it's a busy day to get things done. I have laundry, dishes, vacuuming and the dreaded task of cleaning out the cat litter box - who knew that such a little thing could leave such stinky doodies - but I will at some point have to leave the house in order to get some groceries, and that means going through the problems of getting dressed and actually leaving the house... 

Sometimes I LOVE going to the grocery store... I love days when I feel like I can get lots of treats and when you come back you have a full fridge of food so you feel like you can hibernate. The only part about it that is sucky, is that you have to get up and out of the house and be among people... 
Still had to head to the Country Grocer - a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - to pick up a few things to last me through my weekend and into the working week... 
Making sure I had plenty of delicious things, and a new pack of loo roll, I stopped at the Self Checkout - from Junk Food - to make a quick exit... The only thing about being in the store I actually enjoyed was the look that people were giving me in my adorable new miss chelsea outfit - available until June 20th at Anthem - because frankly, how could they not check out this adorable look... Now it's home at speed to put the food away and find a quiet place to curl up with a good book...

Welcome to the Pride

June 1st brings so much fun... It's the start of the Summer, it's half way through the year until everything starts to getting Christmas festive again, it's my Sister's Birthday month and she reminds me again and again and again, but there's something more important that June is the month of... 
Things start to get brightly colourful, rainbows fill the air and equality becomes much more of a discussed topic... June is Pride Month... We let the colours fly in order to raise awareness and promote equal rights because putting it frankly Love is Love... 

It's crazy to think that it's 2023 and we're still having to try to fight for equality... It's not just for the people to have the right to love who they want, but the races of the world to all be treated equally too... It's shocking to think that we can't all just accept each other, understand that if we all wanted the same thing that life would be SO boring, but then basically isn't it what we all want anyway, the right to be able to live a happy peaceful life, no matter the colour, the sex, the size, the age or the person that we choose to love?! 
I am all for supporting Pride Month - and it's not only because the rainbows are AWESOME and I love a good rainbow - but I have many friends both RL and SL that are parts of the LGBTQIA community. I've had relationships with women in the past myself, and although I'm now stuck with a crazy, lump of a man, it was MY choice to love him, and I really feel that anyone should be able to make the decision as to who they want to love, and be accepted for it too.. Heck you even hear stories in the news about people that love innanimate objects, there was a woman that was in love with the Eiffel Tower wasn't there? If it's not hurting or exploiting anyone, why are people still having to fight for acceptance...
So Pride Month is upon us, there are lots of fun, crazy things happening in our little Second Life community and I cannot wait to be a art of some of the festivities... Pride at Home is running again this year, and there will be events, concerts, shows and all different sorts of things happening... So if you haven't already, maybe it's time to remember that Love is Love, and shouldn't everyone be able to celebrate in that?
