Celebrating a little more Pride@Home!

Pride month has been active for a few long weeks and I know that I've missed mostly all of it. I have some very good reasons and as much as I know that Pride is important, right now I don't have much of the normal brain capacity I work with... I Stand by those celebrating Pride, and all the things that it represents, but my ability to see colours in things has somewhat diminished this week! I had devastating news and I'm just trying to keep my head on straight for the entire family... 

Still, since it's drawing closer to the end of the month, and since there are so many reasons for so many to be living their best life right now, I NEED to think a few happy thoughts. I NEED a little colour while there is none here... I went to see the Take That Circus show, but I'm a very sad little clown right now... Perhaps I'm doing things wrong?! 
I popped into Pride@Home for a breather from my families RL chaos and decided it was time for an ice cream... I may have been decked out in rainbows, but that feels like such a mask and putting on a show right now... Maybe I am more like one of the circus clowns I saw than I realised?! 
Hope everyone that was celebrating had a wonderful Pride Month... I will be heading home soon and NEED some time to get my head on straighter! Bear with me, things could get a little more rocky over the next few months!

Looking for a Pot of Gold!

Today is the day for the Luck of the Irish... A day when people go crazy for all things green, drink a lot more Guinness than they might normally ever do and even try a little Irish jig or two. People start hunting Leprechauns and looking for pots of gold at the end of rainbows, and maybe if you're lucky having a nice bowl of a hearty stew... Like many holidays though, St.Patrick's day has its roots in religion and it's true beginnings commemorate the arrival of Christianity in Ireland... 
I am not the religious type, but I've always loved the magic of the world so I'd be much more likely to go on the hunt for Leprechauns and their gold... 

When I was a teenager, my parents took me to Ireland and we travelled around the Ring of Kerry. It was ABSOLUTELY gorgeous, enchanting, I even joined in the magic and kissed the Blarney Stone but it felt so easy to imagine the fae folk and the leprechauns hiding in the flowery meadows... If you saw a rainbow, you coudn't help risking a peek around for a pot of gold...

Rainbows, Sparkles and Happiness

It's one of those lovely lazy days when I have the day off between being stuck at work for the next couple of days... I'm busy getting things packed and ready for my trip home soon, and I'm super excited although I'll be away from my hubs for a couple of weeks. I AM GOING HOME FOR A REAL REST... Can you tell I'm excited and happy?!

I haven't felt this happy and excited about a trip home since last April when I had the concert of Take That and the most amazing seats we've ever been in for one of their shows... This time there is nothing much planned, besides a trip to see my Grandparents, and the chance to have the attention of my parents all to myself... It's a GOOD excitement... 
I feel like everything is sparkly, I'll miss Valentines but meh that holiday is a yuck one, and my hubby knows I love him anyway... He'll get a million Cream Eggs as a sign of love when I get home... For now though I'm counting down the days and enjoying that sparkly feeling I have... Rainbows and Sparkles and a boatload of happiness...

A Last Pop Of Pride

Pride month is almost coming to an end, and what a fabulously bright and wonderful Pride Month it has been. I've not had much chance to enjoy the festivities in SL, but I live in Amsterdam and it's such an amazing place to have some rainbow fun... That being said it's been a wonderfully colourful month, and there's still a couple of days to enjoy the show... 

I know that once the month is over, the Pride feeling will not ever go away. It's not just something that's important for the month of June, it's something that should be remember every day all year, and as I've always said it shouldn't matter who you fall in love with, love is the most important thing and it should always be celebrated... 
Plus it's a DAMN GOOD REASON to get myself drenched in rainbows of all different kinds and party a little... Right now I love rainbows so much that I can't even think straight!!!

A Pop on Cherry Blossom Road

There is a new round of Anthem and this time it's gone all Rockabilly 50's and it feels like a boppin' good time... Everyone's rockin' around the clock, dinglehopping and doodlebopping - as if either of these things are real, lol - we're rockin'n'rollin'n'whatnot... LOL OK I'm going to stop with the Grease quotes perhaps, but I think I'm going to get on my bicycle and head to the mall for a cola while I look so retro cool... 

There's a cute little soda shop on Cherry Blossom Road - a pretty backdrop from FOXCITY - and I think I might pop in there to get myself a cold bottle of Cola - which is actually a pose from Space Cadet, that's available at Anthem. 
I look SO adorable, I love this style even though I don't play around in it often... The Nora Outfit - from miss chelsea - which is made up of the top, shorts and sunglasses was the start of my look, I added some overly large pearls for a little bit of bling and wrapped my hair in a messy bun with the retro stylish hair band - a wig from Wasabi - I couldn't help but stop and look at myself in the odd window... Gothic Summer is not for the Dogs

Last day of freedom before I have to go back to work this week, I've been off work for 5 days now without actually even having to book a holiday so it's been kinda nice... For my last evening of freedom though, even though it's getting cooler and I am loving it, my cute little puppy friends wanted to cool off in the pool... 

I let them chillax in their cool doggie pool, with supervision of course - oh and for those of you that want to know my doggies are all available at JIAN - to enjoy my very own Goth Summer towel and shady parasol - both of which are available from Neverwish! 
What's a girl to do whilst chillaxing in the garden though... Since Summer seems to be on the turn, and Autumn is coming, now is a great time to start preparing for Halloween... I'm even carving JackOMelons for practice!

Aren't we all Human?

This post I've been on the fence about writing for sometime now... Looking at the world around me has made me feel like I really needed to take a deep look into politics, social rights and justice for all, and I have to say that after everything that I've seen reading and hearing I came to the major realization that I've been both closeted and left in the dark about so many things that I don't know whether to be be scared or furious! 

Some people may think of me as a hypocrite for jumping on a bandwagon, and that's a fair opinion to have, but in all honesty for me personally there is more to it than that... The recent events springing from the death of Floyd George at the hands of the police and causing many places not just within his homeland of the States but also across the world, has forced me to stop and really take a look... Yes I'll agree that it's terrible I haven't really paid attention to it until now, but my eyes have been opened... 

I've come to realize that my initial thoughts of "All Lives Matter" was one that came from a closeted, white girl perspective. 

While it's true that all lives SHOULD matter - should being the key word here - it's not the case, there's still so much racism and inequality, and that's not just aimed at people with darker skin! It's Pride Month, and even though having different sexual preferences has become more of an accepted thing, that's still considered abnormal by some people...  People of differing sexes or ages, people that have different hair colours, people that don't fit the norm of what shape humans should be... The list goes on, a list of discrimination in society that claims to have stamped out social differences, it is a bigger crisis than the pandemic that the world is still in the grips of! 

It shouldn't matter what colour you are, it shouldn't matter where you're from, it shouldn't matter your background... What should matter is that we are ALL human, we're all made of the same squishy blood and guts - the changes on the outside just make us beautiful and diverse... All lives should matter... ALL LIVES! 

We cannot change the history we have left behind, the bad or the good, but until things change with the inequalities of colour, race, gender - nothing will improve and no lives will matter! I will never fully understand, but I will stand! NO LIVES MATTER, TILL BLACK LIVES MATTER! All lives will matter when all lives are treated equally!
