Single Wishes Could Be Enough!

How do I even contemplate writing something like this? I’ve been going around and around in my brain, trying to work out how to share this little bit of RL with you all recently and did I even want to talk about something so personal, in such a public way, in a random SL based blog post. This is my rambling space and a place I’ve always called my personal therapy but this post is one of the hardest I’ve ever had to share, I feel it’s something that I need to talk about, I just don’t know where to begin or how… 
You may have seen here in recent months that I had been talking more about my RL mum, and using this as a place to vent my emotions… Well, I guess that’s where we will start this story…

In November last year, mum was admitted to hospital in pain and very, very yellow - I’m talking, she could have been an extra in the Simpsons kinda yellow - and it was discovered there were issues with her pancreas… 
After Christmas, my sister and I were told it was Pancreatic Cancer.
I can already see the face that you just pulled as you read this, it’s the face that everyone pulled when we shared the news and, although I knew it was bad, I tried to brush it off and remain positive… 
In June however, when I went home to see family, we were told she did not have long left… Let me tell you, leaving to come back to the Netherlands was almost unbearable - it has always been hard but nothing like this - it was mum’s wish though. She wanted me to get home and finish the renovation project on our house. She said she wanted to be able to come see it, and she wanted to know I was happy in my own home again. So after returning home on July 1st, the hubby and I were working our asses off to get it done…
A week later, we heard from my dad that mum had been taken into palliative care in the local hospice, where they would give her the best care since it was becoming too much for him at home. She was ok… She said she had some “very nice young male nurses” - that her friends told me she enjoyed some silly giggles with - to make sure she was eating and allowed her to listen to her favorite Take That songs. 
On July 18th, mum passed away…
I was in Holland, but my sister had just got back to my parent’s house from her home in Wales… Someone was there with dad, that’s was a good thing, but I was not there at the time and I still feel such overwhelming guilt about that… All I wanted was a hug from my dad and sister! 
I did not get to see mum, and it may sound strange but for me that was OK. Goodbye felt like such a difficult word to say. I’d seen her recently and she’d been able to smile and hug me and tell me that she loved me, that’s what I wanted to remember. She wanted me to remember her as the vibrant sunshine that she was… The woman who was a carboot sale queen, a belly dancer, a jeweller, a mum and the best friend I could have ever asked for…
So, that brings me to the picture I’ve taken today… I had been doing a little shopping to try and cheer myself up. I discovered the “single wish sticks” - from Violetility, available until August 18th at The Warehouse - and plans changed. I knew what I wanted to wish for… I wasn’t crazy enough to wish that she’d come back… I know the lore on how that works, and I also know that she’s not in any pain now which is more than I could ever want for her, but I have a wish to hear her voice just one last time… I wish I could see her laugh at me again… I wish I could give her another tight hug and let her know that I love her…
I dunno if these gimmicky gadgets will work, but anything is worth a try… Wish me luck and thank you for reading my ramblings!!!

Fairy Defence in the Darkness!

Sometimes I have a craving when it comes to blogging to do things that are NOT normal and let myslf get lost in a fairytale, be that a good or a dark one... Being lost in a fairytale really helps me with my mental state and right now being lost feels like a great idea. There is just too much going on in my own little world, as well as in the real world, and without complaining here too much I feel like I'm losing the battle pretty fast... So step back from the norm Rudh and find a way to embrace the darkness... My darkness feels like a HUGE monster, lets make him more friendly and things will calm down once more?! I hope... 

In the garden of the Spinners, my monster floats through the light that breaks through the trees and the darkness... He's a cloaked Hornswoggle - made by Tardfish, available at the Fantasy Faire Aventurine Promenade to raise money for Race for Life - and though he lurks in the dark, when he comes into the light he's a lot less scary and more like a Ringwraith from the Lord of the Rings... 
He's always trying to scare the fae folk that wander through the gardens.. Rudh as a sassy little fae isn't one to mess with. I guess that's why I decided to take on my monster as a fae today... She's a little thorny, but she sparkles in the dark so that the monsters are intimidated. She's armed with her Willowvine Wand - from Simply Shelby at the Fantasy Faire Stoneveil Crossing Sim - and the magic within will keep her monster at bay...

Jason Bearhees on Friday the 13th

It's Friday the 13th, the second one this year so far, and once again my hubby has decided that tonight he's going to scare the pants off me and make me watch another Jason Voorhees movie special. It's worse watching it here, I'm not in my normal home in the middle of a housing estate...Right now I'm in the middle of nowhere lol... 
I had to do something a little cuter to make this evening a little less scary... 

Luckily, one of the makers of the cutest things in Second Life has stepped in to help with that, and created a super special Friday the 13th group gift... Jason Bearhees - the current group gift from Tardfish - is a cute, cuddly, dancing version of our favourite slasher man... Yes he is armed with a rather large knife but his skills at slashing and slaying are much more suited to his killer dance moves... 
Rather than stalking people in the woods and making them jump, he's the kind of cutie killer that will lurk around the roots - a collection from Static, available at The Warehouse until March 18th - of the giant trees outside his Creepy Cabin - a backdrop from Bad Unicorn - and wait to dance until the sun rises...

Angellic Sacrifice

So today I had to have the day off for a Snow Day, the busses couldn't run and tomorrow I'll be home again which is giving me a chance to feel a little more rested and lot less nervous. Though I will say that the thought of going out in the snow instantly causes my anxiety to appear and I start feeling a little sick on the inside... Friday I have to go to work, Friday is a whole day away, while I have the day at home, I am going to spend the day hoping beyond all hope that the snow clears up so that it's NOT slippery on Friday... 

I don't know if the weather spirits will be able to help but I think that maybe I'll have to find a way to ask those in a higher power... No matter which of the dark gods is there and willing to help, I'll take any help... I'll leave them any kind of gift that they want, I'll sacrifice the Angels so that I can make it into work safely without slipping on Friday and Saturday... I can't not go to work again, I'm letting other people down and I HATE that, and on top of the feelings I am already dealing with, the thought of going out where it's slippery is just the knock my anxiety needs... SO, lets summon the dark gods and light the candles, as a Wax Witch - which happens to be the name of the candles worn on Rudh's shoulders from Static, available until January 18th at The Warehouse - has chained an angel into their magical ring and now we wait...

Rats in the Tunnels

April is here, Spring has officially started to spring, and there's something weird going on in Amsterdam where the people are causing dangerous chaos. In the last week there have been two major incidents and things are getting a little scary even in the middle of the day now... Things are changing, we seem to be heading down a bad road, maybe it's towards war, maybe the apocalypse is coming, whatever happens it doesn't feel like it's going to be good? 
Of course, when I think of the Apocalypse, my mind wonders and the fantasy begins... People evolve, situations change and because my mind drifted... I'm slipping into a fantasy world... 

For some reason when I thought about the Apocalypse and a character that would fit with theme of what was going through my mind, Rudh seemed to devolve from her human state to become a human Rat Klaws - coming from the BeSpoke Rat Klaws release for the March/April round of The Warehouse - a leader of the people that live within the Tunnem - a Paleto backdrop - underground... She gets all of the information she needs from her friendly rats, daring through the tunnels on her buggy...

Sunshine To Defrost In!

Last night I broke free and today I had a wonderful day off... The sun was shining all day and I found myself wanting to curl up in a sunny spot and read a book... I wasn't able to do that, since I have been working so much I had to catch up on the housework... Any moment I had spare, I found myself resting in any sunny spot I came across, I was taking my time to defrost...

I am NOT a Summer girl, I HATE it when it's too hot but the Spring sunshine always feels like it's revitalising. It makes you warm but doesn't feel like it hurts, it gives you energy and happiness and is the perfect dose of vitamin D. Spring is also the time of the flowers, and there are so many wonderful colours and smells and happy moments that go aong with them... 
It's the perfect time to drop my jacket and let the sun warm my skin... A perfect time to defrost...

A Moment to Pause...

Today I wasn't working, technically you could say that it's the start of my weekend, and basically I found myself buried to my neck in a blogging slump. I KNOW that I have targets I need to work on and things I KNOW I want to do but for some reason, when it came to starting my blogging plans today I was stuck... 

Am I the only one that ever gets in a rut? I see so many people posting gorgeous things almost every day, but I find myself wondering, don't you ever get confused about what you wanna do with or without the things that you're given?! It was just brewing in my mind that I COULDN'T think what I wanted to do, but after all the decorating and the planning and the work, my mind was spinning, and it wasn't until a very wise friend told me to take a day to relax and let my mind rest, make a cuppa tea and read my book that things started to fall into place... I did exactly that,I found a cosy armchair by a fire in the Frostel Penthouse - which is a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - with my Cats in their Winter Sweaters - courtesy of Aardvark - to keep them extra toasty warm. Flakes on the Fae

I felt like doing something a little goofy but the way I become a goofy little snow fae, dancing around on the breeze with the other snow flakes in the softly falling snow was a lot less goofy, if you discount my cheeky grin... I LOVE being a little icy this time of year, I'm definitely better when it's cold...

She's such a pretty cold thing, like Elsa said "the cold never bothered me anyway" and I think even though the little flake fae has a touch of the frostbite - a layer created by The Rotting Lab - and she's covered in Snow, she's still able to smile... 
Her accessories all assist in her manufacture of the snow flakes... A Kinky Little Doll

It's Saturday and I've been free today... I finished a book that's been stuck in my mind since I started it, and I think it MAY have influenced the post that I created today... You may have heard it somewhere, but lately I've been reading a LOT of Dark Romances and SMUT, and I LOVE IT - in fact I find getting through a book without it, somewhat hard going now too lol - but the last book I read was a twist on the Nightmare Before Christmas and I'm not sure how I feel about it... 

There is a lot of sex in this book, "Skeleton King" but it brought Rudh very much closer to one of the main characters. Sally, or Sarah as she is called in this version, is not a rag doll made of cloth but is someone more akin to Rudh in that her body is covered in scars. She's been cut up and roughly stitched so that her body looks like that of a dolls... Her body is cut, stitched and patched, but the scarring doesn't bother her... 
Since she's little more than Frank Finkle's sex toy, she gets used a lot, and well... Rudh has never complained about that either. She's a lover of new toys that are very good Halloween treats - two different sets from Krescendo that are perfect seasonal kinkiness - her demons are calling and even the Naughty 8-Ball is ready and all laid out on the Ritual Platform - from Violetility - for the naughty games ahead...

The Genie is OUT!

It's Halloween Season... That means there is likely to be a lot of horror, a great big helping of blood, and definitely a great deal of dressing up... I may not make it horrifically deadly all month but you know me, I LOVE being able to play dress up...
Last post was a Pirate, today we're as far away from the sea as can be although the fairytale magic still prevails, but our adventures have taken us to the Sinking Sands of the Desert to another Arabian Night...

Within the mirrors that hold the magic of the sands you may stumble across the Genie's lost lamp... Though if you do find it in the sand, becareful what you wish for... Wishes are made to be broken, wishes are made to be corrupted, and the genies of the lamp are known to be tricky so that they can twist your desires to suit their own wicked deeds...

Fluffies and Sparklies

I go through days of randomness where I want to do silly things, I want to do dark and deadly things, I want to do futuristic cyborg type things and then there are days like today when I want to be a sparkly fantasy being that's living in a world of brilliance and colours... I love each and every mode of my brain, but for some reason days like this, I feel bright and effervescent... I LOVE taking a walk through the stars... 

I know that I have a random style, you never know what my pictures will be like on any given day and that's why I feel like my blog is a definite form of therapy for me... Doesn't matter what my mood is when I start, doesn't matter what the picture looks like in the outcome, I'll always be feeling a little lighter, a lote more relaxed and will definitely be smiling... 
Today the smiles are bright and colourful, cute and fluffy, magically angellic with a hint of "awww look at that thing"... An angel walking on and through the clouds, talking to the Fuzz Balls - from Sakura - and the Magical Bears - from Tardfish for the current round of Kawaii Secrets - stretching her Ethereal Wings - by Doe, who is at the moment making simply amazing wings that I admit I'm totally addicted to - and letting the light dance under the Fairytale Umbrella - a gorgeous creation from YOKAI...
Light, Colour, Feather Soft Wings and some adorably fluffy friends... Always makes for a great and wonderful feeling...

Flowers and Fluttering Things!

It's time to get MAGICAL... It's time to celebrate and let my hair down... It's time to RELAX... Today is unofficially the start of my holiday... I am going away to see my family in RL next week, but for the next few days I'll be blogging my little heart out and having a damn good time doing it... I even saw a blogger challenge that I plan on participating in, so watch this space for that, but today I'm letting the magic take me... 
The flowers of summer brings all the butterflies, bees and perhaps a cute little fairy boy or two - depending on my reading material hehe - to my garden... 

I am very much looking forward to spending some time in England next week, there is never anything more relaxing than seeing my parents and other family members. I look forward to spending some time in my parents garden, reading books and doing a little shopping... 
My fathers garden is a magical place, full of flowers, full of life and when I was little, I always imagined it was full of fairies...

The Meeting of the Season Changers!

August 1st always feels like start of Summer, even though Summer has officially been happening for a few weeks, and we're actually starting to gear down towards Autumn...
There is soon to be a mingling of the fae from different worlds... The Summer Fae with her gorgeous floral colours will meet the darker Autumn Fae, who are coming to kill off the greenery and welcome to Wintery flakes of snow... They are gathering slowly, meeting on edge of the dark forest on the Swamp Path... 

It is the Midnight Order, that has brought these two fae together on the Swamp Bridge - a release from Violetility - but the Dandelion Fairy is the one hosting the welcoming committee... Sharing her Dandelion Blooms with the Autumnal Goblinesque - thanks to the LOGO Cinder Goblin Head, available now at Midnight Order - and teaching her new friend how to create dandy magic... 
For now though, let's just hope that these two can share the spotlight before the Autumn ends the Summer and the colours fade from green to red...

Leap into Spring

It's a magical day today, a day that comes around only once in 4 years, today is February 29th making it a Leap Year... As it's a magical day, I needed to get myself doing something magical... March is coming, and that means that Spring will SOON be making itself known... The magical fae folk are getting ready, talking to their animal friends and welcoming the flowers... 

The flowers are definitely blooming, springing up all over the garden under the blossoming trees outside this little fairies Witch Cottage - which is actually a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis with flowers from dust bunny and a gorgeous little cottage from Nomad. All of the spring life in this little garden will let the world know that, at least where I am, "better days" - a pose set from -Extra- at the Spring Fling that opens tomorrow - are coming.While I am most definitely an Autumn kinda girl, I cannot deny that I love Spring too, all the colours, the new life and the freshness... This little fae sparkles as she floats through the flowers, talking to her bird and bunny friends - the birdies being the Flirt 'n Feather Bird Friends from Aardvark and her bunny in a Bunny Bag from everfaery - and watering the new life with drops of Travellers Elixir branded for Health and Mana - from kotte...

Tears so you Forget-Me-Not...

Today has been a bit of a sad day... It was the funeral of my mum's oldest friend's mother. She was a lady of epic proportions, never having had granddaughters she adopted me and my little sister, and even though she reached the grand old age of 96, she always had a spring in her step, never complained about anything and was constantly heard singing her favourite song about rocking all over the world... On other news, I heard something about another friends mother that was less happy and a lot more worrying... After all of the people I know getting ill lately, this was the one that pushed me over the edge and tears were shed for everyone... 
Feeling a little melancholy, and rather blue, I knew what needed to be done, I let the fantasy take over and became the fairy of the Forget Me Not... 

For some reason, the Forget Me Not Fairy is often found wandering around in the Graveyard - which is a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - carrying a bunch of her namesake flowers as she weeps for those forgotten souls in the dark. Her tears mingling with her magic to join the constellations in the sky - since they are Constella tears from KitCat - reminding everyone to Forget-Me-Not...

A Dance with the Jellies

Trying to lift my mood from that feeling of being down in the dumps and to do that I'm going to drop myself back into my blogging. I have lots of things to do and lots of things that I need to play with. I'm actually looking forward to finding all different kinds of weird and wonderful fantasy worlds to get lost in... 
Today I took a little dive under the sea... I was swimming around and found myself the perfect place to let off some steam. I mean it's definitely a cold place where the steam will be dealt with. Deep under the sea, where the jellyfish gather to dance... 

Below the surface of the seas, in the rocks and corals there is a secluded space where the Jellyfish dance... Whilst I was visiting I dug through my massive wardrobe and found the perfect costume to join the dance in the form of a beautiful Fay Dress in a pale sky colour - thanks to a gorgeous dress released by Kiru. There was, however, something missing... I needed something that would pack a punch, I didn't have a sting but I did know a little eel that lived close by. I decided to replace that poisonous sting, since I'd more than likely have stung myself, with a little Voltaic Aura - from Quills & Curiosities, at the current round of The Warehouse Sale - to give those around me a little shock...

A Last Pop Of Pride

Pride month is almost coming to an end, and what a fabulously bright and wonderful Pride Month it has been. I've not had much chance to enjoy the festivities in SL, but I live in Amsterdam and it's such an amazing place to have some rainbow fun... That being said it's been a wonderfully colourful month, and there's still a couple of days to enjoy the show... 

I know that once the month is over, the Pride feeling will not ever go away. It's not just something that's important for the month of June, it's something that should be remember every day all year, and as I've always said it shouldn't matter who you fall in love with, love is the most important thing and it should always be celebrated... 
Plus it's a DAMN GOOD REASON to get myself drenched in rainbows of all different kinds and party a little... Right now I love rainbows so much that I can't even think straight!!!

Stuck in a Canyon Sized Rut!

Things in my RL are changing a little, everyday I'm hearing about new and amazing things that are happening... Sometimes for the better and others for the worse, depending on the luck of the day, but recently there have been two changes that are making my life more interesting... I've being on a lifestyle course for the last year now, since my terrifying rush to the hospital's recovery was over... I've been told I've lost 20kgs!!! Today was also a change in my working life... I've had the first day of training to become the assistant store manager for the store I work in... 
Changes are happening in my life, and I am kinda excited to be travelling down this road, I just hope nothing breaks down and I get stuck along the way... 

I'd started out on this road, a road that seemed like a road to nowhere and it felt like I was stuck in a bit of a rut... It was like I'd been driving through Canyon Valley - a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - and the car broke down. I'd gotten stuck in the biggest of rut and wasn't able to get out or grow anywhere... 
This road is dotted with signs - you might even say they were Silly Signs, like the ones from Krescendo available at Man Cave now - that I need to choose the right path. Do I want to take the exit - a sign like the one from Lemme - that leads to routine or do I take a jump and dive into a passion?? I walk a lonely road, but I want to know what to do to make it a good walk...

Welcome to Hell...

I want to go on holiday, I want to be able to forget everything and just relax, but for some reason when I was digging through my inventory trying to put a holiday look I somehow stumbled on something a little bonkers... 
It left me wondering what would a holiday for Beetlejuice look like... 

Rudhlejuice - since Beetlejuice is taken - is living the holiday dreams... The Best Kind Of Advertising!

The first time that I get myself a day off, I find myself getting sick. It always happens that when you take a moment to slow down, your body seems to catch up with a bang. On the same day, my first to rest in a few days I got shark week and a terrible cold, without warning... I've been feeling shit since... 
Though I did find a little strength to get into SL and at least try to make myself feel glamourous. If I can't feel good about myself in RL, due to the fact I have a head full of snot and I'm feeding the sharks, at least Rudh can look good and make me feel better lol... 

I guess you could call it a look of the day, but it's definitely an outfit that I've been wearing for a while now and wanted to find a chance to share because frankly I'm obsessed with it... 
It all started with the release of a new set of Baby Tee's from the amazing collaboration between Neverwish and The Horror - which is available until June 18th at The Warehouse - that comes in 4 different style sets, each with 4 different colours and/or prints... I LOVE all of the different designs, but for some reason the "Professional Goth Girlfriend" spoke most to my former life before I married my hubby... 
All it needed was some amazing things to wear with it and although it could have been dressed up and glam, I guess because I've been feeling so run down that that it's casual, cool, for today, and now all I want to do is sit around and eat Candy - like this bag of candy from Sakura - while my protector watches over me from a safe distance...
