Missing Melody's Market

I felt like having a really lazy Sunday today... The weather had cooled down a little bit and I'm hoping that it's more like normal right now... Yet it got me in the mood to go out exploring, and that lead me to the gorgeous sim of Missing Melody... 

It's such a pretty location, with a farmish area, and the carnival and market spaces that I spent a good deal of time just wandering around, planning that I'd be back and even - something that I never normally find myself doing - planning photos I'd want to take within locations at this gorgeous place!! 

I wasn't even planning on taking any photos but happened to almost accidentally luck myself into this shot of myself browsing the market stalls... I got some lovely bread, and a bottle of wine for supper and even some flowers for my table... I'm still debating if I should go back for clowns, but there is a stall with some gorgeous teddybears too... UGH decisions decisions...

Stay Proud!

The month of June is almost at it's end, and with it we will soon see the end of Pride Month... This year, Pride Month has taken on a different slant - telling you to be proud not just of who you love but also to stand up and fight for those that are different especially in the Black Lives Matter protests... Yet it all boils down to the fact that everyone, no matter race, sexuality or all of those intricacies that make us different and special, should be equal... Love is Love, and the colour of your skin or the body that you're in shouldn't make you less or more important... 

I've heard people wonder why I'm so excited about all of the pride goodies that I've been shopping for like a demon possessed... We'll let me enlighten you... First off, they may be right I'm not LGBTQ myself - unless you could count a few dalliances whilst I was at university and the feeling that I love love and wouldn't care what shape or form the person came in - but I have a lot of friends and family that are, both in SL and RL... I'd consider myself an ally if push comes to shove... I'm there to support, to applaud and to be family for those whose family pushed them away for being different. Secondly though, and this is definitely a silly reason... IT'S RAINBOWS EVERYWHERE PEOPLE!!!! Who doesn't love rainbows?! I love them... Seeing them in the sky always brings a smile to my face, but I cannot get enough of them no matter what way they come... I love all things dark and macabre, but dammit how can anyone not love a rainbow!!!

Chillin' Pool Side

I'm still on one of those HOT HOT HOT days, when I really don't feel like doing anything, with the exception of finding a pool perhaps?! I wish I'd bought one a couple of weeks ago in RL, but would I actually really use the thing?! Life's full of what ifs innit?! 

I guess that's why I seem to find myself pulled back to a pool ... It's like a moth to a flame, but I'm being drawn into some crystal clear water!!! 

This amazing pool backdrop from FOXCITY - just seemed to be the perfect place to lounge for the day... It's pretty and the perfect place for a girl to get some peace... Lounging poolside was one thing but I decided to slip into the water to do a little more lounging where it's cool... In that crystal blue water... 

Ever the pool bunny, Rudh looked adorable - chilling on the Pool Side, thanks to a pose from Secret Poses - in eenie, teenie, Aqua Baekini with her beers and other fun things stashed neatly into a pool floatie for in case they are needed - it's an oldie item from Violetility but the pool Bar Float comes out for me every year!!!

Backyard Snorkeling!

It's getting to be way too hot here in Holland... I think someone left the door open on the oven again and it's not feeling all that nice - kinda sticky, kinda gross... In case you'd forgotten or didn't know I HATE when it's hot... I got home from my job in the city, and all I wanted was to cool down, but it's just as hot at home and I don't have a pool... Really wish I had one of those little kiddy pools, I'd be sitting in that bitch ALL DAY! 

Rudh on the other hand has a kiddy pool and knows very well how to use it... Not sure it was meant to keep under water critters in - such as these adorable MishMish Starfish or Baby Octopus, and the Atomic Ocean Plushies - but you know Rudh, she's always been a little different! 

She's so busy, playing in her pool, wearing her face mask and snorkel so she can watch her little friends up close - thanks to this amazeballs pose from SamPoses called "Snorkling" that I spotted on Facebook and HAD to have! - she didn't even notice her little Boston Terrier was stealing bangers from the barbie!!

The Bad Lands are an Aenigma

Can you feel it, there's trouble brewing in the Bad Lands of SL, something of an Aenigma is on it's way and there's a calm before the storm that's about to break loose... The Bad Lands are the somewhat post-Apocalyptic, somewhat war zone, and all round danger zone... Rebels hiding in the shadows, armed to the teeth, with some very impressive weapons...Waiting for the call to attack... 

At the moment, she's hiding in the abandoned and crumbling hallway, her attack Velociraptor - a pose set from Black Cat Poses - for the event to open and the doors of the Aenigma open tomorrow on June 23rd! You won't wanna miss this trip to the Badlands!

Hunting and Toasting Marshmallows

If you go down to the woods today, you'd better make sure it's the Witchwood... There's lots of awesome things to see and tickets for a festival... In each of the tickets you'll find, goodies stashed from outta the mind, of the awesome designer behind Petite Mort and Oubliette! 

(BTW, I sang that to myself while I was writing it to the song about a Teddybears Picnic LOL, I'm so lame!) 

So as I so badly sang to myself like a weirdo, there is a few reasons to head on down to the joint home of Petite Mort and Oubliette - better known as Witchwood - two awesome big ones actually... There's a 50% off sale through both stores, AND an awesome Summer Festival Hunt, both these things are running until July 5th, and there are some amazing goodies in store...

Cacti Pricks in the Heat!

It's getting hotter here... For the past few days it's been far warmer than I like, and because it's Holland it's like living in a sweat box... The humidity makes it so much worse than it would be if it was just hot! I wouldn't mind dry heat, but this stickiness is just yuck and the Summer has only just started!!! BLEH I hate Summer LOL... Although I'm not sure I'd be any good somewhere it's hot and dry either... 

Life in the desert with the Cacti is also something that's definitely not made for me! I HATE hot weather lol... I do like Cacti however, they have proven to be very adept adversaries in the battle to see who will survive in my RL home LOL... Other plants die but Cacti seem to withstand the Rudh, the cat and even the fact I forget they are there LOL... So when I saw this amazing gacha collection from [Since1975] called Cactus Land was released, and it included the best sofa I've seen in a while I HAD to have one hehe... It's perfect for the pricks in your life, they will feel right at home... 

It was the fault of this set, that I had to decorate and make things feel a little prickly in my new desert home! Something a few more cacti and these gorgeous Solstice Chairs - from Trompe Loeil - were just perfect to fix...

Sometimes it gets a little random...

Do you ever have days when you feel like blogging something something totally and utterly random? For my my rambling space has always been important as an outlet for any mood or ramblings that take my fancy, but the random part is what is in question today... I have a lot of random going on, but sometimes you just gotta roll with it... 

Like today, I'm in  some weird kinda space craft where there are  these adorable little magical ponies that came to see what I was doing... To be honest I don't even know, maybe changing a light bulb?!

The Fairy Captives Escapes with the Crystal...

In the magical steampunk cities of Piltover and Zaun, where the feuding factions are fighting over the magical powers contained within the waters that surround this gorgeous urban sprawl... The inhabitants in hiding, while the captured fairy makes her escape through the steampunk streets, hiding in the shadows before she darts into the natural surroundings of the park to join her other fairy comrades... She got the crystal...

The crystal is a release from STOIC for the latest round of Kawaii Project - called the MAJIKKU Crystal - and she's happily "borrowed" it from the two cities... Taking it back with her into the fae realm... 

The chain around her neck is the remaining vestiges of her capture at the hands of the humans - a STATIC at We <3 RP release by the way - but it was her wings that most intrigued her human captors... Never had they seen the Steampunk Fairy's wings with their mechanical elements- which are a gorgeous release from lassitude & ennui... 

She has remained still for too long, her pretty little companions remind her in their tinkling speech... They must disappear... They must take the crystal home...

Gacha Addiction in Second Life

I love Gacha, I'm addicted to Gacha... I will fully admit it and it's not something that I'm going to try and hide... I have a store on marketplace in which I peddle my unwanted goods - check it out here if you want -  and a hoard full of all kinds of different shiny things... Yet it's a bit of an addiction, although is it an addiction that I want to give up?! 

I'm not sure it's the best idea to be reading a book about how to give up gacha addiction while standing at the Arcade, surrounded by gacha. 

These self help books from Luc Boutique come in a range of different titles - including 1001 Dick Pics and this handy Gacha Addiction in Second Life.

A Party for One

I seem to be better off on my own today... I am fighting, or at least feel like I'm fighting, with people that I really shouldn't be having petty issues with, and it's beginning to break me... My normally carefully constructed exterior of bubbly, light happiness is cracking and letting people see between the cracks and they don't seem to like it all that much... 

So I need to do something that will make me feel better... Something that will give me a boost of happiness... I'm going to throw myself a little pool party, to celebrate me! A little pool party of one!!! 

Some good music, lots of bright rainbow colours - thanks to some of the awesome Pride related goodies that I picked up at this year's SL Pride at Home event  - and a dip in my perfect little Social Distancing Pool - from NOMAD - washed down with some of Kora's fruity pink lemonade rum cocktails!!

The Problems of Dogs in the Rain

Even though the sun is shining now, it's a little deceitful... There's more rain predicted, as if we didn't have enough already today... This morning when I woke up the skies had opened and it was POURING! Typical on a day when I have things planned that I need to do, but even worse, if you're a dog owner... 

I love my god I really do, but on days like this today, when I had to go out into the rain for her to have a wee... I'm seriously thinking "could I try training her to use the toilet?" 

I love to walk Izzy, make sure that she gets in her daily dose of tiddling where another dog has left a make, lots of sniffing and plenty of standing stone still waiting for another dog to be out of her way... The worst habit she has though is that she will poop, I have to pick it up, and then two minutes later she's pooping again and I have to carry not just one but TWO POOP BAGS!!!

Lollipops from the Nurse

I've actually been feeling pretty good... No headaches - though I'm knocking on wood as I say that - and I'm dancing... Things seem to be starting to get back to normal-ish, I mean the progress is still slow, but that doesn't mean we're out of the woods yet. I mean Europe may be opening but there's a lot of places in the world that are still locked up tight... Even the monsters out there in the dark and still being cautious, going to see the Living Dead Nurses in the Hospitals of Hell for a shot... 

The plus side, once you've been a good little monster and had a shot from the Vile Syringe - a !Reliquary! Item by the way - and if you're very lucky, the dead nurse will let you have one of her deviously delicious Lollipops - from the brilliant Spookshow - so long as you don't tell anyone that the tangy flavor is the cyanide they are laced with!

A Touch of Beach Glamour

They say that Life's a Beach and it really sounds nice to be on the beach right now, but in RL here they are limiting access and turning people away from the beaches on the grounds of social distancing... 

I've never been a lover of just sitting on the beach, and I really don't like swimming in the sea, but I used to spend hours with my mum on family vacations collecting pretty shells or sea glass. I have many bottles of them on shelves in my house, each a memory of a happy time! 

Rudh on the other hand is a little more of a beach bunny, maybe because she's got the figure for it, but she loves to laze around on the beach in a bikini!! 

The CANN!BAL beach is gorgeous for doing just that... It's the stuff of photographer's dreams, and there are lots of hidden places to spend a while with your loved one... 

There's also lots of places to show off that amazing beachy look you pulled together!! Just like the one Rudh wore to the beach today!!! Aren't we all Human?

This post I've been on the fence about writing for sometime now... Looking at the world around me has made me feel like I really needed to take a deep look into politics, social rights and justice for all, and I have to say that after everything that I've seen reading and hearing I came to the major realization that I've been both closeted and left in the dark about so many things that I don't know whether to be be scared or furious! 

Some people may think of me as a hypocrite for jumping on a bandwagon, and that's a fair opinion to have, but in all honesty for me personally there is more to it than that... The recent events springing from the death of Floyd George at the hands of the police and causing many places not just within his homeland of the States but also across the world, has forced me to stop and really take a look... Yes I'll agree that it's terrible I haven't really paid attention to it until now, but my eyes have been opened... 

I've come to realize that my initial thoughts of "All Lives Matter" was one that came from a closeted, white girl perspective. 

While it's true that all lives SHOULD matter - should being the key word here - it's not the case, there's still so much racism and inequality, and that's not just aimed at people with darker skin! It's Pride Month, and even though having different sexual preferences has become more of an accepted thing, that's still considered abnormal by some people...  People of differing sexes or ages, people that have different hair colours, people that don't fit the norm of what shape humans should be... The list goes on, a list of discrimination in society that claims to have stamped out social differences, it is a bigger crisis than the pandemic that the world is still in the grips of! 

It shouldn't matter what colour you are, it shouldn't matter where you're from, it shouldn't matter your background... What should matter is that we are ALL human, we're all made of the same squishy blood and guts - the changes on the outside just make us beautiful and diverse... All lives should matter... ALL LIVES! 

We cannot change the history we have left behind, the bad or the good, but until things change with the inequalities of colour, race, gender - nothing will improve and no lives will matter! I will never fully understand, but I will stand! NO LIVES MATTER, TILL BLACK LIVES MATTER! All lives will matter when all lives are treated equally!

I'm a Gardening Mug!

I've been getting a real gardening kick lately, and although it's not something I enjoy in RL, I cannot seem to get enough of it in SL what with the fact that HellBone built me my adorable little vegetable garden... I have said it already, I cannot get enough of my SL garden, and stores aren't exactly helping since there is so much pretty stuff that fit the garden and my whole new gardening lifestyle perfectly!!!!

Calling the Saints and Sinners

I wanted to do something a little dark and mysterious, a little leaning towards the dark side as the living dead doll in me is trying hard to fight her way out again... She's needing a little time in the light to lure the unsuspecting souls back to the darkness with her... 

She walked through the door in her somewhat angelic dress - a gorgeous Cherubic Dress from toksik - looking kinda sweet and innocent with her pretty pigtails - from Foxy - although that sweet angelic look is mostly just for show... If you look carefully at her face there's something a little Undead about it - thank you Father - the jeweled head dress and her jeweled septum - from Zombie Suicide - dressing up the dead little demon... It's amazing she can even wear so many relics of the Spiritus Sancti - a gacha collection from LUX AETERNA at The Arcade...

Glam for a Night with the Ladies

For some reason I feel like doing something short and sweet, simple and pretty, and a little glam... I'm kinda tired, kinda stressed, and have been more than a little bit bored! So after a day of work, the little glamazon me decided to change from my gross work uniform and into something a little more divalicious as I head out with my Doggie for drinks... 

In the darkened entrance hall of her apartment building, she struts across the floor with her phone in her hand and a dog in her bag...

Life's a Beach for Summer of Goth

Life's a beach at the Summer of Goth for Necrosis... There's so much pretty but pretty dead stuff available in this round that a girl simply cannot resist getting her swimwear on and heading to the beach... 

She grabbed my big pink flamingo floatie and headed to the beach at Amavatar and went for a dip in the ocean... Had to be a little careful, didn't want my new jewellery to get wet... It wouldn't work nicely with salt water... I mean the Pentagram Nipple Shields couldn't be covered anyway, so I had to wear my Ayumi Bodysuit and leave the straps down, but I also don't want my gorgeous Debbie Necklace, the feisty looking Pentagram Earrings and my awesome make-up or wounds to get wet and salty... Salt in the wounds, OUCH!!!
