A lot more Pride, a lot less Prejudice!

Love is love and that's all that matters, or at least it should be... With everything going on in the world right now, from wars that are on going or scarily close to starting, and wannabe kings holding parades that resemble celebrations held for monarchs of distant lands, and even closer to home with people striking for more money and causing masses of chaos for everyone else... It feels so much more important to celebrate love for those who have always faced stigmatism, because we should all be allowed to love, and it might make the world a better place... 

Pride in Amsterdam comes a little later in the year but right now other places are celebrating Pride... I'm always willing to celebrate love, and I KNOW that it's easier said than some people agree to but I want to send huge hugs to everyone... I guess these days I'd consider myself an Ally more than any other letter in the LGBTQ+ range, testing the water at university and my early 20s doesn't really count but I do firmly believe that love is love. It shouldn't be up to any one person to say who another can or cannot love - unless there is a lack of consent or confusion from an involved party and illegal things are happening of course... Like the sign says, I can't believe we're still protesting this shit... It's 2025, let people be who they want, let people live as they want... 
Pride at Home is happening, as are many other Pride events, right now and I want to take a moment to reach out. The world needs more Pride, less Prejudice, I mean isn't there enough crazy shit going on in the world that people also want to control who others love too?!

Balance or Get Wet!

I dont really know what I'm doing today. Things have been slow, boring and I've had way too much time on my hands though for some reason I've not been able to focus and so my mind felt like I was walking on a balance beam... What the heck am I doing with myself? Why can't I enjoy a relaxing day off? 
I NEED to find something to distract myself...

I want colours, I want Summery - although I am definitely not an advocate for Summer - and I really don't know what more I want. I was putting things on, playing with colours, going through the things I'd gotten my hands on and suddenly I found the balancing I was doing on the beam shift to balancing on the cutest Skully Float - from Krescendo at Summerfest now...
I'm not good at balancing, the floatie kept moving under me... I am bound to slip off the floatie soon, and into the cool water of the pool...

Rudhbow Brite!

I am an 80's child, born in 1986 and raised through the 90's I look back on my childhood fondly. I've been thinking about having children of my own lately, and although I love kids I wonder what kind of Mum I'd make. I'm still too much of a kid mentally, I love doing things that are childish and I wonder would I be any good if I had to be the example... It's not something that I need to think about, it won't be happening for a while... 
I'll just use the time to look back on my childhood and one of my favourite characters... Rainbows are EVERYWHERE in SL at the moment, thanks to Pride, but there's always ONE Rainbow that sticks out... 

RAINBOW BRITE was one of my favourite characters, and I LOVED her stories, her companions and her colourful happy nature... 
I will never be able to make a perfect version, but today I pay homage to Rainbow Brite, in my own Rudhbow Brite... Magically Baking

Pride is a month of parties, Pride is a month of celebration for those that are different, a rememberence of a fight for equality that still has people hiding away, acting like something they are not and not living the life they want to enjoy. If anyone is needing someone now or in the future, sometimes a stranger can provide the best support, and I want people to know I'm here to be that person... 
On a happy note though, since Pride is about celebration I find myself wondering about cake... Rainbow cake for a rainbow party...

A Last Pop Of Pride

Pride month is almost coming to an end, and what a fabulously bright and wonderful Pride Month it has been. I've not had much chance to enjoy the festivities in SL, but I live in Amsterdam and it's such an amazing place to have some rainbow fun... That being said it's been a wonderfully colourful month, and there's still a couple of days to enjoy the show... 

I know that once the month is over, the Pride feeling will not ever go away. It's not just something that's important for the month of June, it's something that should be remember every day all year, and as I've always said it shouldn't matter who you fall in love with, love is the most important thing and it should always be celebrated... 
Plus it's a DAMN GOOD REASON to get myself drenched in rainbows of all different kinds and party a little... Right now I love rainbows so much that I can't even think straight!!!

Why, why, why?? Why not make a Pie?

 It's officially the start of my weekend... I´ve done working for the week and now have a blissful two days in which I can rest. I can get things done around the house that I need to do, I can catch up on things that I have been missing in SL, and I might even do a little cooking... I have a bit of a crazing for a pie... Apple, no pecan, no rhubarb... Think it will actually be apples, since that's what I have in the fridge... I am so excited, I can't wait... 

There are so many good things that I think of when I think of Pie... Dean Winchester, American Pie, and chicken run - where the chickens don't wanna be a pie, they don't like grazy... I'm reminded of the Sunday evening dinners with my family as a kid. I LOVE the smells and the fact that they make great leftover breakfasts... 
The more I think about it, the more I want pie, and I'm determind to fill the house with the delicious smells... That's it... Tomorrow I'm making pie!

Pictures of the Parade

Today I had a day off, Monday is always going to be the second day of my weekend and it's nice when things are quiet to be able to enjoy my weekend... While I was wandering around I decided to pop over and check out the festivities that are running in the Pride at Home sim... As per usual, as with every year, the sim is amazeballs... The Pride Floats are insanely creative and there's rainbow glitter sparkling in the air... 

There is so much to see at the Pride at Home sim that I know it won't be my only visit this month. I'm also hoping to find a time to get on and enjoy some of the Pride Events... BUT as per usual the floats drew the most of my attention today, I spent AGES looking at each of them, snapping pictures and generally having a gay ol' time...

Welcome to the Pride

June 1st brings so much fun... It's the start of the Summer, it's half way through the year until everything starts to getting Christmas festive again, it's my Sister's Birthday month and she reminds me again and again and again, but there's something more important that June is the month of... 
Things start to get brightly colourful, rainbows fill the air and equality becomes much more of a discussed topic... June is Pride Month... We let the colours fly in order to raise awareness and promote equal rights because putting it frankly Love is Love... 

It's crazy to think that it's 2023 and we're still having to try to fight for equality... It's not just for the people to have the right to love who they want, but the races of the world to all be treated equally too... It's shocking to think that we can't all just accept each other, understand that if we all wanted the same thing that life would be SO boring, but then basically isn't it what we all want anyway, the right to be able to live a happy peaceful life, no matter the colour, the sex, the size, the age or the person that we choose to love?! 
I am all for supporting Pride Month - and it's not only because the rainbows are AWESOME and I love a good rainbow - but I have many friends both RL and SL that are parts of the LGBTQIA community. I've had relationships with women in the past myself, and although I'm now stuck with a crazy, lump of a man, it was MY choice to love him, and I really feel that anyone should be able to make the decision as to who they want to love, and be accepted for it too.. Heck you even hear stories in the news about people that love innanimate objects, there was a woman that was in love with the Eiffel Tower wasn't there? If it's not hurting or exploiting anyone, why are people still having to fight for acceptance...
So Pride Month is upon us, there are lots of fun, crazy things happening in our little Second Life community and I cannot wait to be a art of some of the festivities... Pride at Home is running again this year, and there will be events, concerts, shows and all different sorts of things happening... So if you haven't already, maybe it's time to remember that Love is Love, and shouldn't everyone be able to celebrate in that?

Be You...

This week there seems to have been so much drama flowing about the body debate across SL Facebook, that it's really caused me so much anxiety and so I've kinda been MIA just to avoid the increased level of stress that I don't need. 
What I don't understand is why can't people just let others live their Second Lives the we choose? Why does RL body negativity have to be a thing in a world where we can be ANYTHING we want? We can be fairies, monsters, animals and even children, yet there is currently a war between people that prefer their own chosen body! 
Why can't we just be ourselves? We've just celebrated Pride, a month of supporting and loving each other, yet the week later we're bashing each others body choices... Where is the love now? 

I'm definitely a Maitreya girl, I know that is probably not considered cool at the moment, but I can honestly admit that I've tried other bodies and there have always been things that I wasn't happy with. I know people mention the shaping of the body not being up to curvy compatibility, but I don't want that. I know that people have said the Maitreya body is one of the least lag inducing bodies due to the number of triangles used to create it. 
Yet why should any of that really matter?! Why should people be able to dictate what should or shouldn't be a thing in SL? YES I can understand the frustrations of people that say Maitreya has been given more attention for a long time, but aren't people that complain about it now, people that may have in the past loved their own Maitreya shapes?
I've been so concerned for a long time about trying to fit in, wondering why my pictures aren't very popular on Flickr, driving myself crazy with doubts... Then I realised, WHY? Why am I not doing things to make myself happy? Why can't I just be me? As Oscar Wilde once said, "be yourself; everyone else is already taken".

Pride is at an End!

June is almost at a close, and that means that Pride month is almost coming to a close. Just a few more hours of Pride events to celebrate the fantastic month of awareness and love. a chance to celebrate diversity and differences of love and it's many happy lovelies... It's been a great month, so many beautifully fun events have been run. There's been parties and concerts and parades... The colours have shown, the support has shown, and Love is love and it's everywhere...  

Unfortunately, as the month comes to an end, Pride events must also end... That doesn't mean that everything Pride stands for has been closed and we no longer have to think of the things Pride stands for. The feelings of Love being Love, people being allowed to love whoever they love and be whomever they choose to be, shall remain and be virtues that are worth fighting for... 
I do have time for just one more set of rainbows and sparkles... A rainbow to show that Love is Love, a Doitsu No Kuma TeddyBear for cuddles and hair a rainbowlicious Hair gift from Mina, that is sharing a little love of a different kind. My hair is actually a gift hair that you can pick up at this year's Hair Fair. There will be more information on that in another post but it's raising money for Wigs for Kids and surely, while we're thinking of Love, giving a child a little support and happiness that they need is a very lovely and important task!

Kinky Rainbow Pool Party Time!

Summertime should be  great time for a party... I seem to spend so much of my SL now living like a hermit and so I don't very often spend ANY time with anyone, so I guess the party that I'm throwing will be a party of one... 
I guess it means it can be any theme that I choose and they will be varied since I'm random like that... I think right now, I'm going for a theme of kinky rainbows...  

It will be cute and sweet, I mean how could rainbows be anything but... I mean I have a cute little kiddy pool - like the Puppy Bone  Pool that comes with a set of poses from -Extra- that are kitty and puppy playing in a pool poses and the reason I have decided to go all kittenish today - and the water balloons, which I ran out of and balloons whilst setting up and ended up having to find a replacement... CONDOMS - from Koukla. I've even made sure that the buckets of Icepops - from Junk Food - was bright and rainbow coloured, and they taste great too... There was just one thing missing, and while Daddy stepped away to start the BBQ, he turned on the hose setting off the Dick Sprinkler - from Krescendo, available until July 6th at FaMESHedX - and showered me with freezing cold water...

Pridemania... It's a real party!

A week into Pride Month and it's been such a lovely month full of rainbows and messages of love and peace. Spreading the cause and raising awareness that Love is Love, no matter who you love. It shouldn't matter what gender they are, if you love them then that should be the only thing that matters... 
I'm going to be enjoying this month, filling the days with rainbows and peace and love... 

I am getting into the party spirit, lots of rainbows... A heaped amount of glitter and some confetti in the air to float between the balloons I'm using to decorate The Party Dome - a new backdrop from FOXCITY, available for Pride at Home - and I made sure that there are snacks ready, we'll be having plenty of Snowice in cups in loads of different flavours and, bags and bags of rainbow Gummybears - I know it's all Junk Food, but we're having a party and it's the best food for parties! 
Now I know some people might say there is a little too much in the way of rainbows BUT I went all out while playing in the rainbows... I LOVE rainbows...

Say it Loud, Say it Proud!

It's June, and in SL that can only mean one thing... PRIDE!!! I know in the Netherlands, Pride is celebrated from the end of July until the beginning of August, but that's fine because more Pride celebrations for me! 
Pride is an important event... Now days being different and being a part of the LGBTQ+ culture is an openly accepted thing, for the majority of people, yet it's still a great thing to see the Pride movement getting more recognition and more support with each passing year... No longer should people suffer in silence, it's time to be loud and proud and stand out in the crowd... 

I'm starting my Pride celebration and support this year on the Edge of Love - from K&S, available for this year's Pride at Home Event - and although I'm wearing a Silence Tag - from Tentacio - I will not be silenced. I've been married to HellBone for years and years now, so I guess I'm more on the supporter side than I was when I was younger. 
Rainbows become prevalent this month, and I'm going to wear them as much as I can, in support of those that I know and love, because let's face it isn't that what Pride is about... Love being Love, no matter who you love...

Dear Santa, I can explain...

OK OK so when I did a few things that were a little naughty, and I spent time giving Santa a little gift so he'd empty his sack - lol yes, it was a terrible joke I am well aware of it - but I need to take a moment to step back and have another word with the big man in red... I'll start off as if I'm writing a letter it's easier that way... "Dear Santa, I can explain..."

While relaxing in the evening, looking out over the city landscape, I mulled over my options to get myself off the naughty list that didn't involve me getting further down the list in the first place... Do I beg? Promise I'd be extra good next year? Buy him something extra special?? "Dear Santa, I can explain..."
Dragging myself out of my mind, and back into my apartment, I look at my adorable tree - from Junk Food - pulling my soft fluffy rainbow robe - from miss chelsea - tighter around myself, and sipped my rainbow mocha - from ChicChica...
I let my mind drift to more important things, maybe I'd ask Santa to help with more important things... Maybe a little Pride at Home - such a brilliant raising awareness event in SL that if other people paid a little more heed to, the world might be a better, happier, brighter like my Christmas lights kinda place...

The Old Christmas Decorations!

Since it's so early in December, things are slowly starting to get a little festive, and I'm slowly getting myself into decorating... Today I pulled things out of storage and blew th dust off the boxes containing my decorations. Every year I always buy new things and still end up using the pretty old things I've had over the years... There are a lot of boxes, and phew getting them all out of storage is hard work... 

Grabbing myself a delicious, Sloppy Tomago Sando - from Cat-Noodle - that I'd had waiting in the fridge, I sat down with my kittens to get my grub on... I was about to take a bite of the delicious egg sammich, I noticed that one of my kittens - a cat from Jian - had discovered a bag of catnip stashed in with the decorations in boxes and was going coo-coo for coco puffs... I almost had my eggs poached by my other little friend!

Even the Loos are Rainbows

 Back to work after the weekend and ugh I'm not sure that I want to LOL... I shouldn't complain, I'm lucky that I still work I KNOW, but it's summer, it's getting to be way too hot and I'm not good with hot... Maybe I should just move somewhere cold, like Santa's House or something?! 
I did some more wandering around this weekend, checking out places like Pride at Home, too shy to attend the events but loving the location... 

I mean where else in SL will you be dressed in some pretty awesome rainbow gear, and just happen to find yourself standing in front of porta-potties that actually match your outfit hehe... 
I didn't intentionally stop to pose here, but well while I was parked and watching the people at the event, it just made me giggle to find myself in my amazing 1313 Mockingbird Lane "June" Leggings - available until June 26th at the Fetish Fair - matching the porta-loos...
