Travelling Goodies

I know that I'm not officially leaving until Monday afternoon, but I'm more than a little excited to tell you that on Monday I will be heading towards the Ferry Port and boarding a boat to I can go home... I'm heading to the UK and I'm going to see my mum and dad... 

I'm going to be in a little cabin where I can get some sleep, some much needed sleep... All I need to do is make sure that I get my packing done... I hate packing... 
Rudh is packed and ready to go though... She's got her cases and her passport, some delicious looking snacks like the Picnic Box she packed for herself and the crunchy bag of Gold Pretzels - both of which are available from Junk Food - and even some good new smut to read. Dreamwisps and Glass Magic

What do I do when I'm having a bad day, it's my day off and my PC decides that it wants to be a total and utter shit... I had to try and use Hell's PC but that thing is a crazy beast and I was confused and struggling and hope that the picture looks somewhere decent... 
What do I do when I'm trying to get my head into taking a picture, I go for something fairytale and fantastical and magical... 
Fae folk come in all different shapes and themes, today we're looking at the steampunkish glass fae... 

This pretty little cut glass fae lives in a world of crystal sparkly glass, powered by steam that lights the world and brings life to her flowers and magical pets... 
Her magic and sparkles are powered by the waters of the Dreamwisp Fountain - a gorgeous creation from everfaery - which gives her the ability to grow some of the most amazing plants in her rainbow glass greehouse... Her best grow has to be her pet Purr Plant - from Aardvark - that came to life and became her faithful leafy companion... She feeds him on a diet of Enchanted Fantasy Mushrooms - from Simply Shelby for this year's Fantasy Fair - and he exercises chasing the Butterfly Lightbulbs - from ANTAYA at the Engine Room until April 20th...

Vintage Glam on Route 66

Sometimes I like to step out of my comfort zone, and that can lead to pictures that are different for me. It gives me a chance to live a little... Whie playing with my clothes, things that I'd be sent from designers and other toys that I wanted to blog... I spend so much time looking at things, wondering what I am going to do that sometimes when it happens it's like a lightbulb moment...

I've always LOVED that vintage, retro, Rockabilly look but I'm usually too shy of trying to do it, as it is very specific and I don't want someone to it's terribly done...
This look happened because of an accident... Whilst changing between two different outfits from miss chelsea, the Isha Set, of which the top is currently being worn, and the Zaya Skirt that is available now at Equal10, this somewhat rockabilly kinda outfit was born... 
Then it was only a matter of setting a curl in my bangs and finding the perfectly retro looking Gas Station - from Synnergy.Tavis - where the vintage Spiral Gumball Machine - from MadPea - stood proud, standing out taunting me to get a gumball like I'd loved when I was a kid... Perfect for a vintage pose...

Moth on the Moon

It's been a long day, and life has been busy. When don't I say that at the moment though... I feel that now it's time to just kick back and lounge on the sofa and let my mind drift off to a fantasy place, where I can be someone different, even if that means that I'm just different and still asleep...

A Break from the Games

I'm having a lazy day, I've been chillaxing, doing a few thing that have needed to get done and then tomorrow I get to go to work and deal with idiots again... Right now though I'm going to lay back, relax and enjoy a few guilty pleasures... Play some games, read a book and enjoy some good snacks. Everything is perfect to relax to... I'm happy and peaceful, I haven't felt like this in a while... 

I've had a very very relaxing day... The Queen's Key-per

There are so many royals in the world that I never knew about. That sounds like a silly statement but before I moved to the Netherlands I was totally oblivious to the fact that other countries in the world have monarchies... I LOVE a good fantasy novel, one with a fantasy kingdom ruled by any monarchy is a plus in my mind... There are so many to choose from, but when I grew up I ALWAYS wanted to be one of the Queens of Narnia... I wouldn't want to be a ruling Queen in RL but I could handle being a queen in a fantasy realm... 

I think if I was a Queen of a fantasy realm, I'd definitely be a benevolent queen.... Flower Petals and Leaves

A lovely day off today... It's been a peaceful day, and that was very much needed as I've been going crazy all over the place lately. 
I wanted to slip into a little fantasy place, somewhere that my mind could be restful and enjoy the warm sunshine that is drenching my gardens. The sunshine was making me feel magical, the sunshine made me feel like I could be a fairy in a ruined garden... That was when the magical me came to life...

Market Day

Happy Sunday, a lazy day for some but for me it's been BUSY as all heck... I've been working today but luckily because it was so quiet I snuck out early and find my way home to make myself something delicious for dinner... 
When I was younger I might have stopped in at my favourite place which was our local market - the market in my little town in RL now is on a Thursday - to get myself some fresh veggies and a nice bit'o'steak... 

One of my favourite places in SL happens to be my home sim... Hell made the gardens amazing, and our homes are set in what I think of as our own little provincial life. Yes I'm singing that in my head as if I'm Belle and I'm dancing around the gardens. We have our own little woodlands, a farm full of animals and a HUGE plant growing garden, but one of my favourite places is the market... I've put all kinds of fruits, veggies and home-made produce, fresh coffee and bread and flowers... 
So on this lovely Sunday afternoon, I went to market.Picking up a gorgeous bouquet of Spring Harvest Tulips - from vespertine at Fameshed - and stuffed my Farm Bag - from Junk Food for the new round of Farmers Market - full of delicious goodies... I maybe be naughty and pick up a cake or something for dessert...

Dance of the Demons

I've been full of so much sweetness, cuteness and colourfulness that I think I've been hiding behind the rainbow happiness and keeping the deep, dark, monstrous side of me hidden way deep down within. I know that my monstrous side ususally comes out when I'm happiest, but right now she's ready to come out to unleash Hell on people that are crossing my path. I love my life, I love my job and I love the things going on but there are just way too many people and I'm totally exhausted... I want to kick some butt, and I think that the monster in me is feeling fiesty... 

Tonight I'm feeling more than a little dark and dangerous, it's going to be an Evil Night there will be blood as the demon in me comes back out to play for the first time in a long time...

Glutton for Chicken Tenders

I have to stop thinking about blogging and what I want to focus on whilst I am hungry... My blog and randomness that goes with it tends to be influenced by my mood as much as by the things that I need to make sure I'm covering. Today, you can probably guess I've been feeling more than a little hungry... 

I am definitely suffering with a case of feeling like a glutton - and if you haven't noticed by now this is my third in the seven sins collection that are fitting the Pitaya Deadly Sins Banners, this follows the Pride and Sloth sins - and maybe it's just because I'm in a yucky mood, but I want a HUGE load of junk food... This is Fine!

It's April Fools Day and today I wanted to do something to show off how much of an April Fool I could be... It's hard to believe that we're in the fourth month of the year and therefore a quarter of the way through already... It is the busiest season for me at work, and I'm feeling overworked, underpaid and overworked even more... I cannot handle rude, arrogant customers that let their children run wild and eat tasting samples like they are going out of fashion... I know I complain a lot about work right now, and you may not believe that I LOVE my job, I just wish I could do it without the people involved lol... 

Some of you may know that I work in a cheese shop in the middle of Amsterdam, I'm not ashamed to admit it, and I LOVE what I do... There are times though when my colleagues will tell you that I have trouble controlling my expressions and end up plastering what we like to call my "Minion Face" - a HUGE goofy smile - on my lips... 
I am exhausted, frustrated and wanting to run away, but all of that is buried deep inside and on the outside "This is Fine" - just like the set from MadPea, available until April 5th at equal10 - I'm going to just work my butt off and try to make things work and no-one will know that I feel bad on the inside... 
The drama in my mind aside I got some SUPER exciting news the other day and I'm finally able to share it since everything is set in place... Collecting Eggs

Happy Zombie Jesus Day... Happy Chocolate Bunny Day... Happy Chocolate for Breakfast Day... Technically it's Easter but since so many people celebrate it in so many different ways, and since it seems even less religious these days than Christmas, I wanted to cover all of the bases... 

I've always been a bit excited by the fact that it's considered acceptable to eat chocolate for breakfast. Though I often wondered why bunnies were involved... I love the fact that chocolate bunnies are a real thing now. Where do chocolate bunnies come from? The chocolatiers would prefer to take the credit for them, but the fairies know otherwise... Slummin' It Under My Flaming Hat

What a shitty old day that I've had... Easter is supposed to be a lovely holiday full of springtime, flowers, bunnies and chocolate - although there is another aspect to it, the religious stuff which is something that I've never really thought much about since I'm not a religious girl - but the fact that people swarm into Amsterdam in their thousands... They aren't always very nice, and I feel like a total crazy wrangler, answering questions, dealing with grumpy rude people and getting frustrated that people treat tastings samples like it's an open buffet... 

People wrangling is a LOT less complicated than wrangling cows, least thats what I've been thinking lately. Cows are smart, beautiful creatures that can be corralled easily into going in the right direction. People on the other hand are like hearding chickens. They run in circles, seem to talk a load of nonsense - although I'm sure that chickens say things that make more sense really - and they act like they can do what they want, when they want. People come into the shop I work in an have no manners, they talk over people at me, they demand and don't even get me started on the way they attack the tastings on offer... 
I think that today I've been influenced by the thought of being a cowgirl... So today I've moved to the desert where I'm going to be Slummin' It - which is actually a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - and I've decided to take up a new job working on the range... I'm gonna be a cowgirl... I'm going to wear chaps and a Flaming Hat in the Stetson style - a hat available from Boutique #187 that is available at Wasteland very soon - I'll even Yee-haw, while I watch the adorable little Fennec Foxes - from Aardvark at Anthology - play...

Exercise Time!

This week is two years since HellBone and I started taking a a change to make our lives a little easier, making a change to get healthier and improving all round aspects of things to get us a little brighter in general. We started a Lifestyle course, that would look at various things - not limited to diet or exercise - but including things like sleep, relaxation, learning to say no... All aspects to make life better... 

I've never been one for going to the gym, but I've started moving more so that I'm active and getting fitter by the day. I don't have so much trouble moving and feel less out of breath when I'm doing things. 
I've changed the way that I eat so that I eat smaller portions and still enjoy the things that I love. 
I've started sleeping better, reading more to relax and I'm stronger, learning to say no to the things tht I don't want.. 
Tuesday will be my last session in the group and though I'm happy about it, I've learnt a lot. I don't need to be a Gym Bunny or weight lifting Buff Bear - both of which are from the creative minds of Aardvark - and I don't even need to go to a sports centre, although a Yoga Studio - like the one created as a backdrop by Synnergy.Tavis - might be an interesting idea to get me more supple.

Questing Souvenirs

The picture that I came up with in my mind today seemed to come from nowhere but somewhere buried deep in the hidden recesses of my mind... It was based around the thoughts of when you get a reward after setting a goal and completing it, which is something that I have been trying to do more of this year. 
I think in the back of my brain, I associated it with some kind of fantasy quest that a knight might have been sent on by a king with a problem... Maybe an ogre problem, maybe a witch problem... Ooooh Maybe a Dragon Problem... 

I've loved films and books and even the odd game like this, I remember having a bit of a addiction to the original Baldur's Gate games when they first came out... I have always loved knights and dragons and the medieval aesthetic. 
I keep having this weird almost Dad joke running through my mind as I was setting up my epic blogpost today. I kept thinking "If you have enjoyed your dragon slaying quest today, please don't forget to stop at the souvenir kiosk on your way over the drawbridge"... I chuckle but the She Merc - an outfit from Pucca Firecaster Creations at the Engine Room - in me, did make a pitstop at the kiosk, loading my Alchemist Pack - from Static, also at Engine Room - with books and dragon plushies but did I REALLY need that special looking Eyes of Eldritch Grimoire - from Aardvark at the Wizarding Faire - it's a must for every wizard but that would mean taking up a totally new profession?!

Flames of Destruction

The high season has started at work and things are getting busy. We are running late shifts, and we have people that are coming in and rather than being polite when it comes to tastings there are people that think of it as a free lunch. We are even staying open until 8PM and that means I'm not walking in my front door, until 9.30. By that time I should already be in my pyjamas, cuddling a cup of tea and getting ready for bed... I'm not happy and things are only just starting to heat up... 

If things continue to get frustrating, if people continue not to listen and act like animals with disgusting eating habits and people that let their children run riot, I'm going to start seeing red. Any worse I'll be burning the place to the ground but to stop things getting to me I'm going to give them hell... Metaphorically you understand, not physically like I want to with a HUGE weapon like the Bitch Grinder that Rudh found - an old gacha weapon from AsteroidBox - and I'm sure is something that I could do some serious damage with... 
Although unlike me in my cheesy uniform, Rudh will be able to burn the ground in the Engine Room Steampunk style...

The Elementemporia Tome and the Crystal Portal

I'm not sure if it's just my perception of things but while I've been digging through the fun stuff that has come from the Engine Room this month, I've kinda noticed that there is a lot less steampunk and a lot more magical fantasy... Like I said, maybe it's just me but my brain is going into magical overdrive and I LOVE it... I will never complain, especially when you can take something in one theme and make it another... 
That's what happened today, the steampunk met the magic and wonderous things started to happen... 

Even the cyborgs have magicians, there are magical forces at work in the stratosphere and up within the New Horizons Space platform - which is part of the backdrop from The Bearded Guy - this robotic demon bears the mask of Pride's Ego - thanks to the CRYPTID Sin VII Masks from the Engine Room - while her body shines under the polished gold of her ELECTRA Body - a release from JANGKA, also at The Engine Room - and she surveys the stars through her Charon Coin Glasses - from Violetility at SABBATH until April 11th.
With the help of the Crystal Portal, that she wears on her back to keep it safe and protected - from RSStore - and the magical Elementemporia Tome - a book by Artemisia - the summoning process to bring in more starlight minions has begun, they will be born into the Experiment Tanks - by Oblivis - and they will stay there until they grow big and strong enough to light up the night...

The Diva in the Stars

The Engine Room has opened it's doors for a Spring visit, the sparkles of all new wonderful things come rushing out so that they light up the sky and provide a guiding light for the visitors seeking steampunk treasures to decorate their homes and bodies... 

Today the first that we meet on their way to the Engine Room is the glorious interstellar traveller... She's a diva of the stars, she's glittering and twinkling and fabulous...

Birthday Girl

Today is my 111th Birthday... In the words of Bilbo Baggins... Perhaps it's not that number but it's my Birthday all the same and I'm actually 38 today. As my dad wonderfully reminded me, I'm almost 40 and that makes me feel wonderful LOL... 

I've never really bothered with doing much for my birthday, though today my hubby did take me to my favourite second hand stores for some treasure hunting, ordered me a slap up Indian Curry takeaway and spoilt me rotten with books, books and more books... I'm such a spoilt girl...
Being in my late 30s always seemed like such a crazy idea when I was in my teens, now I'm here it feels like my 40s are a lifetime away...

A Movie with Friends

It's been one of those days today when all I want to do is sleep and read and lounge about on the couch doing nothing much at all... My hubbys is a movie lover and when I'm reading, he tends to put a movie on and so I have the noise in the background. 
I am a Lord of the Rings, Princess Diaries, Disney loving kind of girl... HellBone on the other hand likes all things scary... Today it was the turn of the Three from Hell... 

It gets so distracting... I'll be minding my own business reading something a little dark and smutty, and suddenly there will be the most horrendous scream that makes me jump... 
Maybe I should join him, watch a movie instead... He has always said that if he won the lottery he'd like to have his own Indoor Theatre built in the house - like the backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - and I'd be fine with that so long as we can create our own little Movie Snack Pack bar - the movie snack carrier in the picture is the creation of Junk Food and comes complete or with all of the individual parts needed too. 
I'll curl up with my teddies and my snacks and watch a good movie, so long as it's nothing scary that will make me jump and scream... There is nothing like lazing around practicing one of the best of the seven sins... Being a Sloth is hard work - shown off by the Pitaya Deadly Sins Banners, which I plan to be playing with to playing around with as the other sins come to light over the next few weeks - but someone has got to deal with it...

The Flower Folk of Spring

March is a fairly important month, not only is it my birthday month, it's also the start of Spring officially and that means that this part of the world that I'm in life starts to start. Freshness, colours and warm sunshine become the most important things of the season... 
Second to Autumn, Spring is a time of year that I LOVE, I'm a girl that loves the dark and twisted but also the colourful pretties, and all the flowers that are springing to life make me super happy... 

Flower Fairies are just as happy as I am at this time of year, possibly more so, as it is they that are the ones that get to welcome in the flowers... Flowers of all kinds including favourites of mine like daffodils and lily of the valley, are making gardens look wonderful... 
The little Spring Flower Fairy in me is happy, sitting in the grass to talk to her magical little friends...

The Capture of Mr FluffySocks, Kitty Spy!

Home from work today, and I've curled up in my jammies on the sofa to find something good on tv for an evening of viewing. I wanted to read my book, but my brain has otherwise, and whilst I have a headache I just cannot think about what I want to do other than switch my brain off... There doesn't seem to be anything good to watch though, I want something with a little intrigue, a little mystery and perhaps a little randomness that will inspire my random ramblings... 

As I sat lazing, my cat came to make use of me as a warm cushion. My mind began to drift and the show on the tv about a mad scientist that was creating evil minions, which may have been somewhat altered by my sleepy state because Gru and the minions were never really all that evil, was under attack by the superhero kitty that was able to invade the secret base in their flying machine... 
Of course, and I'm not entirely sure how, but I was able to re-create this amazing vision with some super cool new creations in SL, AND a Weird Science Coat - from Hotdog. She kept things safe by wearing a pair of Tomb style glasses - from sacredsquare that are available until March 15th as a hunt prize for the Wayward Hunt. The stars of the show today though HAVE to be the monsters and they super spy kitty... Bestrals are a shy monster unless handled properly - they are available from Tardfish at Modify Event - and once trained they are loyal minions. The Super Spy kitten has been given tools to make his spying life easier, including the Meowtron - which is a companion available from the awesome Aardvark at the current round of Cyber Fair until March 25th - so he can fly through the bad guys bases and cause chaos...

A Lady Detective in the 1920s

I got very excited by a new release from a store that I'm not normally a client of. Sometimes you see something in an event and can't wait to get yout hands on it, and that's one of the things that I love about the SL shopping events. There are lots of stores brought together that you may not regularly use, but an item is released and everything changes... It was like that today with the amazing new release from Salt & Pepper at Equal10... A look that takes us back in time, to when glamour was jazzy coated with glitz...

The glitz and glamour of the 1920s, the era of the Great Gatesby, was one of highs and lows... Prohibition and mobsters, jazz and swing, it's an era that oozes decadence, especially when you see it represented in the media... Now, I know Salt Perry - owner of Salt & Pepper - has based her latest creation on the great Gatesby, but my current addiction is a tv crime series set in 1920's Australia called "Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries"... She's a lady detective in a time when men were still considered the stronger sex, and with her companion and household staff, she is out to right the wrongs and discover the truth... It's a BRILLIANT series, with some strong female characters, a little bit of steam between Miss Fisher and the detective, and lots of action too... Armed with her little gold pistol, and closing her cases with a Whiskey on the Rocks - like the ones from the Whiskey Tray set from Junk Food - this divalicious detective leaves Jessica Fletcher in the dust...

Sugar Skulls in Spring

I know that it's spring but there have been stirrings within the monster realm as the changing of the season means there is pretty and it's something that the scary, dark monsters are not used to... This year though they intend to be part of the fun, they want to enjoy the fresh, the colours, the new life... This year the monsters are getting excited for Spring... 

The monsters are celebrating in lots of different ways, but one of the prettiest of the monsters, the Dia De Los Muertos, Sugar Skull Princess has been dancing around changing her fall coloured flowers for th pretty pinks of Spring... She's a pink, rose Sugar Skull princess... Roses across her eyes, through her hair and round her neck. Her ears wear jewels fitting of the Sugar Skull spirit that she is - earrings from Boutique #187 in today's Lazy Sunday Event by Seraphim - and the cent of the roses dances on the breeze... Spring seems to be coming to Monsterville...
