Flowers and Fluttering Things!

It's time to get MAGICAL... It's time to celebrate and let my hair down... It's time to RELAX... Today is unofficially the start of my holiday... I am going away to see my family in RL next week, but for the next few days I'll be blogging my little heart out and having a damn good time doing it... I even saw a blogger challenge that I plan on participating in, so watch this space for that, but today I'm letting the magic take me... 
The flowers of summer brings all the butterflies, bees and perhaps a cute little fairy boy or two - depending on my reading material hehe - to my garden... 

I am very much looking forward to spending some time in England next week, there is never anything more relaxing than seeing my parents and other family members. I look forward to spending some time in my parents garden, reading books and doing a little shopping...

The Checkerboard Palace of the Chess Court

I am still not doing very well, but I am trying to force myself to just carry on and keep going because I have no real choice right now... I'm trying to make myself feel better with a drift into something a little fantastical. My brain is full of fluff, so fantasy seems to be a easy place to drift off to...

Snowflake Magic

Why is it that snow always feels so magical? It's like the swirling, sparkles of magic that slowly drift away after the magic has been cast... It always seems to make me think of fairies, of fairytale magic and of those stories that cause the imagination to run riot... That's why, snow seems to pull out the inner fairy in  me... 

The Snow Fae that seems to be luring my mind into her dark little dance, to watch whilst she creates the most intricate little sparkles... 
She may be dancing in the snow, but she wears no clothing causing frost bite to rip through her extremeties... All while things get a little Frosty... The snowflakes and ice sparkle in the moonlight, and hopefully the magic will last a little longer...

Toxic Goo in the Forest!

Honestly I have been so busy today that I was debating with myself about 'did I have enough energy?' to figure out something that I wanted to dress in, photograph and talk about... 
I think that this time, I could find just that ounce of energy to discuss a Halloween look today, because I have been waiting to play around with a look like this, and it came together so well... 
SLIME!!! Oozes and drips and great big mahoosive globs of slime... The green gooey kind that's a little toxic... 

I used to love the movie Fern Gully, with Tim Curry voicing the evil and toxic Hexxus that was trying to destroy the forest using man's machines... Now I could never do a legend like Tim Curry justice, even when he's only a voice of a character so I've decided that I'm more like his evil toxic cousin, Noxious... I'm a green toxic waste kinda slime, and I'm left in the places where people dump their rubbish illegally... I radiate and sparkle in a neon green, and I assist in the mutation and degeneration of the beings that live there...

Trouble in Oz

I've finally had a day off and it's been an amazing chance to relax, unwind and let my brain have a bit of a rest. While doing that I've had plenty of time, amid doing all of the chores, to sit down, log in and let my imagination soar with a day of picture taking... 
While I sat and let my mind drift off, Rudh ended up on one of her magical adventures... This time she was taken to the magical land of Oz, where the road glitters gold in the sunlight and the cities are made of emeralds... It was there, she bumped into some interesting characters, and caused more than a small national crisis... 

My trip to the wonderful world of Oz seemed to be going smoothly until the house that I was riding in came crash landing into the sleep inducing poppy field. I'd parked my house on the edge of the Yellow Brick Road - a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis that is available September 2nd at Enchantment - but my parking hadn't been as good as I'd hoped... I did something terrible... I crashed my house onto the owner of the Ruby Red Slippers... It wasn't a witch... I LANDED ON DOROTHY!!!! 
She'd been on a walk with the Rudh Scarecrow and Rudh Tin Woman... They did not look too happy. Scarecrow went into a panic, arms out running around in circles crying "What do we do? What do we do?", so much for her having gotten a brain from Oz. The Tin Woman was a little more in control, pulling out her phone - the Tin Man phone from Boutique #187, also at Enchantment - to call in the flying monkeys and get the aid of the Lion... 
I think I'm in trouble!!! Get me the heck out of Oz!!!

Sharing Honey with the Bees

There are so many important days throughout the year, cultural holidays and national days and our own personal special days like Birthdays or Rezdays but there are other days that are important and far less known about which when you learn of their importance the fact that people know very little about them is shocking... 
May 20th is a very important day for some of the world's most important creatures... Creatures that are vitally important in the survival of our ecosystem... May 20th is World Bee Day, so today I'm going to be spending the day buzzing with the bees... 

Nearly 90% of the world's wild flowering plant species depend, almost entirely, on animal pollination, along with more than 75% of the world's food crops and 35% of sgricultural land... Pollinators like the bees are the key to conserving biodiversity.
So that people are made aware of the importance of pollinators, the threats they face and their contribution to sustaainable development, the United Nations designated May 20th as World Bee Day, with goals aimed at protecting bees and therefore assisting in the problems retlating to global food supplies... I had no idea of the importance of the humble little bee... 
Hence why today I got out my shrink ray and found the time to dance in the sunshine with my new buzzy bee buddies...

Becoming Queen Bee

I have been on a rather random, weird fantasy world lately and I can't say that I'm not enjoying it. I've always had a passion for creating the weird and wonderful characters, my blogging world is full of them, each one unique and random and different, but very occasionally I let my mind create one that will surprise even me... 
This very situation happened today, I was out walking through the glorious countryside, and I spotted the beehives in the corner of the field. I gave them a wide birth, fearing being stung by any of the bees, I guess though my caution was worthless... I got stung, and it was the sting that caused the magic to happen... 

In the fields where the Sunset Rising happens - thanks to a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - I meandered towards the Bee Hives - a beautiful set from Apple Fall if you're interested - and felt the bees - which in this case are adorable and from LODE - begin to dance, welcoming their new leader... I didn't notice the changes at first, but when I caught a glimpse of myself in a honey jar, the image was amazing... I'd gone full on Honey Bee - thanks to a new release from Fantasy Forest Store - I was going to be the new queen, I was crowned with a beautiful Heartsong Crown - from Six Feet Under that you can see more clearly in the ad that I'm sharing below - and I was to help make sure the hive would survive and thrive... I was ready to do my part... I just hope that there might be bigger boy bees than the ones flying around, I need someone much bigger to procreate with hehe...

The Last Farewell of the Snow Fairy Queen

Yesterday, in the Netherlands, though in other places too, we had a snow storm,,, We woke up to a few inches of snow and it's gotten so cold, my fingers and toes are numb. The weather is slowly turning back towards a Spring normal today too, sun shine and the temperature is warming up again, albeit slowly... I'm beginning to wonder if it wasn't our friendly Spring Fairy - that made an appearance here over the past few years - popping back in to say hello before she disappears for her Summer Nap... 

She's disappearing towards Echo Ridge, where the last of the snow clings to the ground, as she's taking her last stroll through the woodland before finding a comfortable place to slumber. 
This fairy Ice Queen is looking a little worse for wear, as her skin is starting to show signs of frostbite that never normally affects her. Her ice outfit - from Antaya - is slowly beginning to melt, everything but her crown-like mask is slowly fading away to nothing...

Cupid of the Future

It seems like every year the holidays become more and more commercial, maybe I'm just being a grumpy old fart, but it seems like nowadays you can get everything and anything you want covered in hearts at this time of year... I find myself wondering, what a holiday like Valentines will be in the future... Will cupid grow up a little and become part cyborg, ready to spread a little futuristic lovin'? 

I would think that in the future, cupid might have become Cupids - or would that be Cupiden as a plural? - and there might even be female versions of the little angel... I know if there were, and it's the future they might be less baby-like, more adult in size, and armed with a brilliant new gun - like the UNA Cupid's Gun. Everything Valentine has gone much more high-tech to keep up with the times, and so from the Control Room - one of Synnergy's newer and most futuristic backdrops - they can keep tabs on all of the love arrows circling the world... 
Debating if someone should be struck with an arrow, should it be love or will it be heartbreak?! Life's big questions...

A Mermaid's Summer Memories

I did two days of being an adult and now I'm back home and cant let my hair down and play for a few days before I have to pretend to be an adult again. Who wants to be an adult... It's time to be something different... I'm gonna be a mermaid! I love being a mermaid hehe... 
I don't just want to be a normal, pretty mermaid though, I'm going to be a slightly dark and devious mystery of a mermaid... 

Dark, devious and full of light and mystery... Lurking under the sea in The Bay, she whips the water into a frenzy trapping fish in a myriad of bubbles, to bring up enough magic to share a memory of a dream she had that she loved... One time when she was happy, able to be on land and build the most perfect of sandcastles, all thanks to a Summer Memori Orb - from Petrichor...

How would a Mermaid Shop?

It's been such a warm weekend, and it's only going to get warmer... I  say this because I hate summer, but would the heat just sod off please... I don't like melting LOL... 
I did get more than a little excited to find out that the new round of Mermaid Cove was now open, and that meant shopping for pretty Mermaid goodies! I LOVE MERMAIDS! 
It did however, leave my mind wandering in some weird ways, I blame the heat, and I ended up creating a mermaid shopping trip in my mind hehe... 

I got to thinking, if a mermaid was able to live on land and keep her tail, how would she shop?! Would she have to wear a reverse oxygen tank full of water? Will she be able to ride around in a bathtub full of water to keep her scales from drying out, almost like people that use a mobility scooter?! 
Perhaps if she was going to drive a bath, she might want one like a Bath-on-the-Go - created by Ananas available at Equal10 - and she's such a clever mermaid to match the colours of her bath to her pretty colours... Her mertail matches her "Asherah" Set - from Fika at Mermaid Cove - of shell bra and crown, she had to ask for plastic bags for her purchases so that they were easy to carry...

The Sea Witches' Daughter

I'm done with work this week and I'm going to allow my mind to wander... I've been wanting to watch my FAVOURITEST of all Disney Movies this week, the Little Mermaid if you're wondering, but it's caused me to get a little inspired and while I was looking through my collection of bloggables... WELL... This happened... In my head I became Ursula's able to walk on land daughter... 

She came back into the ocean at the request of her mother, bringing the necklace that she'd found whilst snooping around within Queen Ariel's personal belongings... The tentacles of her mother - though they are actually a static pack from Cubic Cherry - slowly wrapping around her, as her mother's darling pets, Flotsam & Jetsam - a pair of Lernaean Hydra from Fika at Pandora, and yes I KNOW they are snakes not eels! She was pleased with my choice of black latex 'Oracle Dress' - from Psycho Barbie - but all she really wanted was the necklace, as it was important to destroying a certain Queen... 
No one ever said being the daughter of a Disney Villain would be easy...

Perhaps Blood Sacrifices would help?!

Still stuck on a fantasy kick, my mind went off to a distant land where History is repeating itself and the rulers of the past have come back to take control of the world... Things have been so difficult world-wide over the past two years, and although in some places there signs of improvement, there's still a lot that needs to change. 
An Aztec Temple has appeared on the horizon in the land of Chankanaab... Aztecs require acquire a blood sacrifice to appease their gods and keep things going without issues... 

Looks like the priestess has found her sacrific. She's dressed to appease the God, her face hidden behind her Sacrifce Mask - from Fika at The Darkness Monthly -, and it seems she's already done the deed if the heart in her hand is anything to go by - thanks to a pose from Secret Poses - and this means that perhaps she's ready to help people heal?!

In the Neon Light

Honestly recently I´ve been getting the creative feeling back and making pictures that are making me feel happy. Trying to enjoy myself playing with photography, more for the fun of it than just purely because I need to find something to blog... I realised recently that the deadlines were becoming more of the priority, and since I made other changes to my SL, now it´s time to do this too... 
I've been playing a lot with Neon Colours and mixing them into my dark style, and the results are making me super happy...

This outfit was actually a look-of-the-day that I'd thrown on in the spur of the moment... I LOVE this Naahmah dress, from Salem - which I will admit had me singing the classic muppet song "mah nah men ah" while I was putting the look together - and then I added the fine details such as this Medicated Tattoo from FIKA - that has a selection of different word slogans you can choose from - and the gorgeous jewellery collection, called Royals, from RAWR! It was an outfit that made me smile and well, I think the picture, shows just how much I love it perhaps LOL...

Where are these hearts coming from?!

 This weekend is Valentines weekend, and there are so many people out there celebrating the "weekend of romance"... Ugh it's never been something I've been keen on - maybe people will say that I'm anti-Valentines because I'm a fat girl in RL or that I'm with the wrong man - but for me I always maintain the stance that love should be shown on more than one day a year! 
The dirty little demon in me, that loves to parade around wearing fake wings and a halo at this time of year, like she's in some kind of fancy dress parade, often feels that it's a pointless time of year... Turning her nose up at all the hearts and flowers... Never able to escape! 

Even hiding away in the Neon City - a backdrop called The City by The Bearded Guy by the way - she cannot escape the hearts and flowers... Someone is dropping little red hearts everywhere, and you can see she's now amused just by her pose - thanks to Secret Poses at eBento hehe - and the question that escapes from her lips... 
Maybe it's her own fault for dressing like some weird twisted little cupid demon so close to valentines... Either that or it's the fault of the Tainted Love over at Necrosis... Whatever caused it, she's happy being a cyber demon for a little while at least. Wearing a skintight Maurceline Bodysuit - thanks to the Beauty of Darkness - and a Solid Heart Eyepatch - from Normandy, both at Necrosis - the neon angel look started and grew bigger hehe... Accessorizing with some amazing Psycho.Byts goodies, and then throwing on a pair of Afterparty Neon Angel wings she was sure to fit in... A Mekaniskt Heart - from Fika - for good measure... Still even a machine for a heart can't make me feel anything this Valentines...

The God of Time's Assistant

The snow has taken over the Netherlands... Everything is white, and the snow is blizzarding through the air like fairy dust in the wind. I guess you could say that it was somewhat an inspiration for the Fairy that danced into center stage in my mind today... 
The Winter Fairy of Death decided to make herself at home in the wintery forest that is my imagination. The Winter swirling it's glittering snowflakes on it's blustery breezes... 

This little fairy goddess is an omen of change, although looks may be deceiving she is not the dark portent that she might seem. 
It is true that she may carry a scythe - thanks to FIKA at Midnight Order - and not just any Scythe, it happens to be the Scythe of Kronos and anything that belonged to the Father of Zeus and the God of time shows that she means business... The Dark Magic from Koroko bubbling in her hand, creating the glittering snowflakes that dance into the blizzard of The Outer Garden. 
The fairy we spotted today is an assistant to the God Kronos, assisting his passing of time allowing the seasons to change in their own slow and steady way. Helping Winter to change to Spring this time she seems too captivated by the snowflakes, but maybe soon she wil let the new replace the old and dead...

Demons love a good Chassis Augmentation

Anyone who knows me, or has read anything or even has heard of me may well know that I am, and have been or the longest time, a Secretary for the Gators MC in SL, and have been married to HellBone who is a RL Biker for many years. So I guess I have a somewhat pressure built affinity for a good motorcycle. I notice them more in the street, and love the sweeping lines of the bikes that my hubby makes in SL... 
So for some reason today, the demon in me had been playing in the garage, and suddenly she spotted something red and shiny... This demon is a motor head, drinking toxic waste and getting her kicks with the big rumbling machines... 

The toxic waste in the corner of the garage was delicious for her demonic tastebuds... Recharging her inner core, giving her a little Chassis Augmentation - thanks to the amazing new body piece released by FIKA at the new Mainframe event - the inner workings glowing as they charge. 
She approaches the new bike that's been parked by it's handsome rider, it's a shiny red Red Bob Chopper - from Hogs & Cart Wheels that will be available soon at the new round of Necrosis - she cannot help herself but take a seat on the seat of her bike, enjoying the feeling of the rumbling of the machine as it calms down...

Undercover Poison Cocktails are to Die for!

I'm so loving being in touch, and letting out, my dark side at the moment, it's definitely helping me to make happy pictures that bring a smile to my face. It's definitely the me that I feel most comfortable in, and I often do things that are a little kookie, weird and all-round weird... I love it that way, it makes me smile and that's the entire reason I play this way!
Today I decided to get all dolled up for a night on the town, in a monstrous way... 

Frankenstein and his wife never did fully understand why they were considered monsters, they were just trying to live their best possible lives, and it was the pesky humans that got in their way! 
Still it was Friday Night and she wanted to hit the town, heading to The Devil's Lettuce for a little bit of something green... Not only do they have the best bud, they definitely make the best of everything green, the Undercover Poison cocktails are to die for! Any human that tries them usually does, anyway!

21... Let's have some FUN!

HAPPY NEW YEAR, welcome to 2021... I know that things won't change much if anything over night but all it will take is for 2021 to be just a little better than last year and it's going to be a good year! 
Normally, for my first post of the year I tend to try and do something a little thoughtful, deep and meaningful, but this year I want to just have a little fun... For some reason that meant, in the words of a good friend, having Rudh dress like she's a Russian Mafia Bunny... 

Last year was a total mess... The Pandemic causing damage to people's mental well-being, lively hoods and chaos for economies worldwide. I can honestly say that it's been one of my hardest years and compared to some it's not even been that bad. I've had my health, I've kept my job and although I've gotten sick of him at times, I've kept my hubby lol... 
I've had a lot of time to sit around and think this year, so it's better for me to let the party spirit have control for just a little longer. I made the resolution - not that I call it a resolution as those are so easily broken - that this year I will put myself first more, less concerned about always saying "yes" just to make others happy and I will do more things that I wanna do - like spend time with friends that I never normally see, or even, dare I say it, get more time to take pictures and learn to do it better?! LOL... There's hoping, but there's miracles that would need to happen too LOL...

Apple Invasion

 Yesterday I went to pick out my first of many pumpkins for the Halloween Season in SL... I'm going to admit that it won't be my last either, but today I decided to take some time out in my own little garden with the help of one of my many many puppies and harvest some of my apples before the wind blows them all off the trees... 

So whilst I'm happily picking apples so that I can turn some into pie, and others into cider, I decided that they looked SO DELICIOUS that I had to have one to taste... Don't you just hate it when you pick an apple, take a bite and it's occupied... UGH there was a worm in my apple!!! 
The Apple is actually a current group gift from FIKA called "Bite an Apple", so the pretty JIAN Hillside Orchard on my land cannot be blamed hehe...
