The Most Magical Library

Tomorrow is my day off... I'm going to spend it reading a book and avoiding being an adult for a while - if you can over look the fact that my reading material would not be considered anything but adult - and I want to head to that magical place where the books are more magical than this crazy life I'm stuck in... I dislike RL people so much at the moment... 

If you need book recommendations then I'm definitely an advocate for Goodreads, and if Goodreads was personified she'd be the most magical of librarians... 
In their library, she'd be surrounded by magic and flying books, and the entire library catalogue will be listed within her Dark Academy Computer - from random.Matter at Midnight Order - so that she can magic up any information to lead us to the smut we desire...

The Magic of a Library

I had planned to work on this post two days ago now, and when it didnt work on the last day of January I thought I'd get to it yesterday. My body defied that plan... I had the worst migraine of my life, and almost wished that I was dead just to stop the pain. I didn't want to think, I didn't want to do anything and I couldn't even if I had tried... 
Today though I feel so much better, my brain is alive and have finally got a clear head. I feel so much better now that allowing my brain to slip into a fantasy world while I read a good book is possible now that my head is free and not pulsing with neon auras that make everything spin... I am ready to jump into the fantasy head first... 

On days like today, when I decided that I needed to get myself into the books I had to find the perfect thing to read... I had to head to the Midnight Order's Library - an amazing backdrop released by Dirty Rat for the Midnight Order event that runs until February 20th - to find the perfect book. Once I entered the chamber though, things looked more than a little magical. As I walked further into the floor, the floorboards seemed to be disappearing, books were swirling around being dragged into the most magical of rainbow vortexes... Sparkles luring me in, making me want to dive on in to the stories that were flowing from the pages of these amazing books...

Mummy's Lil' Trick or Treaters

We're getting closer and closer to the day that the kids are allowed to wander the streets begging for candy. It's not something that we really do here in the Netherlands, although Halloween is slowly becoming more and more popular, but I can't help but get into the Halloween spirit and feel lucky that I'm able to do more Halloweenie stuff in SL... 
Though for my 31 days of Halloween look today I've been lumbered with a rather arduous task of taking the streets kids out Trick or Treating... I'm a Mummy that's been made to be a mummy to all of the little monsters... 

I'm going to wander along the Trick-n-Treat Lane - a backdrop from Synnergy, that's now become Synnergy.Tavis - with an army of monstrous kids of different ages and sizes, wearing all manner of different costumes; some scary others not, and we are going to have a great time collecting candy... Even the family pets got a chance to come out for a little Trick or Treating... As their "Mummy" minder though I've laid down the rule that I get at least one treat from each of the kids tonight... I wonder what goodies I'll be able to feed my Cauldron Creature - from Evil Baby - when I steal from their Pumpkin Pails - from Junk Food.

Magic will bring him to life...

I know that it's nearly Christmas, but right now I need to take a break from the festivities... I decided to make sure that I got myself a Christmas present that I wanted. This year, I'm thinking big, and have decided to take a little magic of the season into my own hands, since I doubt that Santa will be able to bring me what I want lol... This year I've decided to upgrade HellBone, I'm going for someone adorable...  

I think I'm going to test my magical theory out on my Sam Winchester doll... Bring him to life. That way if something goes wrong, he will be able to stop whatever demon I summon lol... 
Setting up carefully, Sam in the middle of Pentacle, in the middle of a demon trap, ya know just in case I get more of a Chucky than a Winchester. 
Pulling out the Haunted Tome - from Vae Victis, as a gift at SL Shop & Hop - and as I started to read the pages out loud, the papers ont he floor seem to come to life. The words and the pictures were glowing, dancing, flickering in the candlie light - due to these amazing Cursed Pages from Static at We <3 RP - unfortunately I chickend out before I could carry through with the spell... I think I'll just be happy with socks that Santa might bring...

Unleash the Death Goat

The Devil is inside me and we've broken free from the bindings that are holding us and we're about to paint the town red with the blood of our enemies! She walked away from that Devil's Trap, like it was nothing, whoever scrubbed the trap from the floor... Thank you!

The Devil inside me looks pretty evil... I'm loving this darker side of me. When Practicing Magic Goes Awry...

While in isolation, Rudh has been taking the time to improve herself, learn a few new skills and dust off some of her old ones... There's no time for things like that normally, so when you get the chance you shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth right?! 
Today it was time to make a little magic, I set myself up a new little cosy, safe space where I wouldn't be disturbed, and then I set to work... It's lucky I was on my own... It wasn't going well... 

I whipped the magic up, and got the room looking perfect, then an oopsie happened! 
The cards that I'd set out for a reading started levitating and swirling around the room, causing chaos before I could even start. It was a little DISORDERLY! 
On a side note isn't my safe place pretty... It's mostly kitted out with some awesome Witchy Hangout items in the Oubliette Gacha - available until the end of the month at Gachaland - and some amazing goodies from Ostara's Altar!

Summoning is just like making a Phone Call...

It's getting closer, so close the magic is deep and dark and scary... Halloween is coming and I cannot wait! Just a few more sleeps until Halloween! Now that the veil is lifting and we're closer to the otherside, Rudh is putting in a few calls to home, and chatting with her demonic friends and summoning them all to come for a visit over the holidays! 

Summoning takes a lot of effort though, I mean you have to set the scene, and depending on who you are contacting it will vary as to what you need... Her Witch Planning Book - from Tentacio - keeps notes of what is needed to contact everyone, and in this case she's using Scattered Crystals - from Lovely Alien - and a HUGE Blood Bucket - from Pink Unicorn - though I'm not sure if the person she's contacting is at home! 
Wait a minute though, the little demonic Rudh may be scaring her callers away... I mean look she's dressed like some kind of nun?! A Marianna Hairstyle - from Doe - and a cute uniform from the Witchcraft Academy - from Dead Dollz - the funny part is, it looks like it's not sitting well with her skin. She's got an outbreak of FIKA Trypophobia Freckles appeared on her cheeks, her face is slowly peeling apart! It's not that clear here, but take a look at the close up!!! Her face is rotting away!!

Carving Pumpkins with Magic

So I've selected my pumpkins, and now it's time to take them home to start carving them... I LOVE carving pumpkins, I get all silly as I pull the pumpkin flesh out from the pumpkin and end up making zombie noises as I'm playing with the innards... 
I'm going to hide away in my dark little witch cottage, and while I'm casting a few spells, I'm going to cast a little magic and carve myself a new friend! 

I went to town on decorating my dark little witches cottage... the table was strewn with all different kinds of fun stuff including a cup of coffee laced with poison! I had been out doing some shopping a little Trick or Treating at the Trick or Treat Lane for some things like Candle & Cauldron, Paper Moon and Raindale, with just a hint of other awesome events that are running on the grid at the moment. I admit that I both LOVE and hate this time of year, love it because there's lots of awesome stuff to get my hands on and hate it because I'm broke all month LOL...

Meet me at Ostara's Altar

Another event has opened this week and it's not so dark but a lot more pretty and full of spring Easter happiness. There's an abundance of magic, pastels and softness that makes this event so pretty. 
Ostara's Altar is a Dark Passions Event, an event so full of whimsy that it's the perfect Spring location for any pretty fairytale goddess... 
So today I'm going to share some of the pretties, let's call it a look of the day for Ostara... 

What a pretty to start with huh? Isn't this dress pretty! I love the colours and the softness to it, it looks like something straight out of Arwen's closet and it looks like it's been made from fine silk! It's a dress from Dreaming Thicket called Morning Glory and this is the Lily coloured version, although there are about 5 different colour combinations to choose from.  
Before the event gets too much into full swing, and my inner goddess truly reveals herself though it's a good idea to cleanse the aura, she's going to sage herself - thanks to a Smudging Sage from lunacy, and then indulge in a few early Easter treats. 
There's Easter themed treats all over this adorable little altar - maybe it's not for Ostara though, it's definitely for me - Roawenwood set out eggs and flowers, Spyralle provided the tea and Paper Moon even let these Wildflower Wabbits hop on in to bring some springtime sunshine into the darkened room...

The Hunter killed a Deer

Oh Deer... As it's getting closer to Halloween the Horror Magic is getting stronger and things are going wrong... 
On a recent hunting trip some poor guy was stalking through the forest and spotted what he thought was a lonely deer... He lined up his shot and waited... 
Then as he finally squeezed the trigger and the bullet flew from his gun, the Halloween magic burst to life and a flash swept through the forest... The hunter ran towards his kill, expecting to find a deer breathing her last breath, what he saw left him shaking with fear... 
Laying in the exact spot he'd seen the deer was a figure, a woman, with deer-like make-up and a mask, draped in furs... 
His mind fuzzy, the poor hunter felt a change in the forest, but what the heck was he to do... He scooped the dying deer woman up and loaded her into his flat-bed truck, speeding like lightening through the darkening forest... 
Arriving home, just a moment too late...

OK OK so once again I got carried away and wrote a little story to go with my photo today but I cannot help myself, sometimes it just happens... 
I put together an outfit due to a make-up and a mask, then found this location at La Vie - which is a beautiful place that you can actually rez on if so needed - it all kind of fell together, especially when I remembered this Levitation Pose from Image Essentials... 
The deer look was formed in my mind thanks to a mask from Storybook that you can pick up as a prize in the Once Upon a Nightmare hunt, and a Dead Dreams Make-Up that is available as a new release at the Nightmare mainstore. 
A simple, pretty Annabelle Dress from Vinyl, accessorised with furs from Foxes and CURELESS and the girl in the forest was complete...

The bad girl has been subdued, it says so in the cards... A gypsy has moved into the gardens around my farm and she brings magic and portents of trouble. 
In the setting sun she lures you to her caravan, open to the elements to let them aide her in her reading of your fortunes... I wonder what the future holds for you? 

Her wagon is a new release from Violetility - available at The Fantasy Collective - and it makes the perfect place for some outdoor living... Add chairs for comfy seating or as in the case of our gypsy girl use it for your readings with just the bare essentials... Some lights to read by and a Crystal Ball for when the cards aren't enough... 
Her skirt is new... A colour she may normally never have chosen, but the cards told her to wear this gorgeous Twilight - almost purple - Brujah Maxi skirt from Oubliette - available until July 22nd at The Darkness Chamber Fair - and well, although the skirt is gorgeous, and she would have chosen it anyway, you never wanna anger the spirits right?

Walk like an Egyptian

Last night, and yes I mean Friday Night, we had a little party over at the Gators MC Sim. It was to celebrate the birthday of our Sgt@Arms - Mr Gary Burton - who thought we had forgotten, lol silly butt! One of those covert, try to keep things hidden from a guy who watches the sim like a hawk, type deals that started with me speaking to his lovely lady - Celeste - and then cursing her a bit while I tried to decorate! 
Finding the costume though, that was the best part! It's not something that I have ever really done before but you know me, I love a good excuse to find a costume!! This was no exception to that excitement... After all it's not every day you get to go back in time and be an Egyptian! 

I have to say I am pretty excited by what I came up with, and YES I did do a little happy dance when I was looking for a costume, I'll explain that in a minute. First though, when trying to find a photo location, I looked long and hard but found the most interesting place. Ancient Egypt in Terra Egypta looks very similar to the archaeological sites that you see in RL, only take it back a few thousand years and this is - I'd imagine - how it would feel... 
Now on to my Egyptian Goddess outfit and the reason for my little Happy Dance!
While I was out shopping in the week, I found this awesome headdress and hair combination from deviousMind at the latest round of We <3 RP, and at the time thought 'damn that's awesome but I'd never wear it'. Once Celeste said "Egyptian" as a party theme, I KNEW where I would be going LOL... 
I needed a dress to go with it, and although there are lots and lots of options available on the marketplace, nothing was screaming BUY ME! Then I had a change of thought and started looking for bandage style dresses - I mean come on Mummies are wrapped in Bandages, why couldn't I be LOL - and found the perfect dress from [status Inc]. Cinders wants to be Free

Housework is boring... Being a housewife is boring... It leads to my imagination going crazy with thoughts of fairytale princesses that are stuck at home doing chores... 
As well as doing house work today, I've been slowly going through my hoard, doing a much needed inventory spring clean, and I'm finding things that I had totally forgotten - things in some cases that I was sent to blog! I'm a very bad girl, but I promise I will make up for it!! 
To go with the Fairytale Princess dreaming, and the housework thing... I am going to do something a little cinders... 

I was able to get my hands on this awesome glass slipper and knife decorative item from Paper Moon during the last round of Enchantment - and I hang my head in shame to say that I totally forgot I had it! I am very sorry to Paper Moon's creator and I promise I will make it up to you somehow, not sure how but I will make it up to you! These Paper Moon items are available at the mainstore. 
This little Cinderella tried to cut her toe off to fit into the glass slipper, it didn't help it to fit, but she must really hate doing chores even more than I do if she'd got to this extreme.

The Dragon Keeper and the Nebulim

This morning I had a long lay in after a night with a terrible headache and I feel refreshed and raring to go... Once I took some pain killers at 5 am though, I will admit that I had some very strange dreams as I finally got back to sleep! Dreams involving fantasy fairytale worlds, where things are never quite what they may seem. I'm not complaining, I LOVE that kind of dream and feel lucky that I was able to bring some of it to life thanks to some gorgeous new releases by brilliant SL designers, and a location that keeps me wanting to go back for more!

If you haven't been to Once Upon A Fairytale at Cape Juniper yet, you are missing out. There are lots of little nooks and crannies to explore, and they really get my fantasy imagination running wild. 
One of the little islands is Draconic in nature, and Dragons have always held a major part of me in SL. I was brought to SL because of Dragons, I was the Princess of a Dragon Matriarch family and even though we've all gone our separate ways now this feeling still holds a part of me! 
So it was here that the Paper Moon Nebulim was guided to when advice was needed from the Dragon Master. High on a mountain top, the being swathed in the magical Cloak of Nebulim stood, her wings catching the wind that blew around the ancient ruin while she conversed with the Dragon Master...
Who knows what was discussed, that is something for the firey minds of the dragons and their master, but for a Nebulim to have been spotted it must have been something of high importance!

Rudh & Hell's Christmas Greetings

Christmas Eve Eve... I remember it was about this point when my RL little sister - Sophie - and I would start to go crazy every year. I cannot believe we are already on December 23rd, and I don't feel anything like as Christmassy as I used to! Not sure why even, maybe it's me getting too old, or the fact that I'm homesick, but it seems like a LOT of people feel that way this year?!
Still that having been said HellBone and I decided to make a cute little family Christmas photo and send it as our Christmas Card this year... 

I wrapped HellBone in Sparkly Christmas Lights to make things a little more festive, and posed him using this awesome Come Soon "Carpe Diem", and added some super special baubles from peaches - the rude santa - and DRD - the annoying gingerbread man! It's definitely looking like a happy crazy Christmas in our house LOL...

Kittens love Champagne

This weekend was a special holiday in Holland - the holiday of Sinterklaas - and I know I mentioned this about a few hundred times now but MY PARENTS WERE HERE!!! I had such a lovely time with my parents and it felt so good having them around, although now I feel a bit lost as they have gone back to the UK and left me behind. 
Now as great as it always is having them here, it's a little bit frenetic, things go crazy and there is little peace in the house LOL... Today I am taking things easy, going to pamper myself and have a little luxury... 
Rudh likes a little luxury... 

A burlesque dancer she is not, but all girls like to feel a little luxurious at times right?!

Hiding in the damask curtains - as kittens have a tendency to do - this little burlesque kitten dances in the candlelight, enjoying the luxury of Champagne and Macaroons decorated with {anc} pearls!

A Padded Cell for a Psycho

My first day back at RL work today and it's not looking like it's going to be pretty! There goes that holiday feeling! Oh well, back to the old grindstone! 
To cheer myself up I think I'm going to do something a little gory, a little macabre, something totally Halloweeny! You know me by now, the more dark and disturbed the better and I get so excited at this time of year that I feel like a kid at Christmas! 

I love making dark and horrible pictures like this LOL... What does that tell you about my personality?! Maybe my collar says it all "Psycho" LOL - these collars are gacha items from the Kibitz Leather Collar collection by the way. 
Yet I'll just brush it off as Halloween and hope that you buy my crazy story LOL. I've finally been committed, everything has driven me mad, and now I am being recognised as such! Luckily before they locked me away in my padded cell - a pose prop from the long since closed Exposeur - I was allowed to choose some of my favourite toys to take with me... I decided on my special bear - from D&S design - and my trusty Knife - from Boudoir - as a girl simply cannot be without those. I was even allowed to decorate my cell a little hence the Devil Trap - from paper moon - and the cute little dream catcher that I made from bits and bobs I had laying around - but really bought from MadPea lol... 
Of course accidents happen, I got hit in the head, and as the doctor was bandaging me up, he had to wrap my head in bandages and therefore had to get close, I used one of his own syringes on him and took something special for lunch! 
Talking of lunch though, perhaps I shouldn't blog when I am hungry lol...

Seeking Viking Men!

I've been watching a TV show on the History Channel - yes my inner geek is very happy at the moment - called Barbarians Rising recently... It's a docudrama about the so called barbarians that took on the Roman Empire in an attempt to save their homelands and people, and actually it's pretty good... Having studied Archaeology I tend to get a little bit geeky and will sometimes be known to shout at a screen that "that isn't right" so the fact I'm thinking it's good is telling you something LOL...
It's also gotten my blogger mojo working in overdrive... I WANT TO DO SOMETHING BARBARIANISH!!! Only problem is, I don't want to stick to true Barbarian... I want to give it that fantasy, sexed-up, video game style Barbarian Warrior Girl twist... SO that's that I did LOL... 

It's really not hard to find the right bits and pieces in SL to make an outfit like the one I wanted... I really didn't need to look all that hard for it - in fact I got very lucky that I'd been sent all the items I needed as a blogger, which is one of the many perks I guess - yet once the pieces were added together, I was more than happy about the fantasy, sexed-up, video game style Barbarian Warrior Girl twist look I'd pulled together! 
The basis of the outfit was this awesome outfit from Lassitude & Ennui - for the current round of We <3 RP until September 30th - is the Conqueror Set, shown here in Steel... It went perfectly with the accessory I chose to add from Paper Moon. The Necklace of Da'at is Paper Moon's release for The Secret Affair this month - I'm hoping that the large stone in the middle will distract from a few of those bruises that she's been getting in fights! 
Now before I finish running around like a Barbarian Warrior skank - lol - I wanted to share details of the sim with you... This was taken at Skarvald, and I highly recommend it if you're looking for a Vikingesque location, either to roleplay or take pictures in... Just don't forget your observer tag if you do head into the location!

Going to the "Cowboy" Store?!

You may have noticed that recently I've been trying out taking pictures that aren't of people somewhat... I was getting tired of always looking at my perfectly formed pixel face, and decided that I'd test the water taking pictures of other things... 
I've never been too confident when it comes to taking pictures of Furniture and Décor, but a release from one of my favourite stores prompted me to at least try, and that's why today I am only going to be talking about furniture!!!

I have two houses in SL to appeal to my random tastes in both the cute and crazy - this is the house I call my play house - and the more grown up side of myself... Each is decorated totally differently, one is stuffed with bright colours, the other is muted but has whimsical touches that give it a little fairytale feel... Yet I rarely think about different types of furniture. I never in a million years would have thought that today I'd be writing a post about a store style décor but hey would you look at that, here I am about to talk about store style décor!!
The reason for this is that two of the places I really enjoy working for have just created things which are store based, and looked great together! 
Lost Junction made a set for The Gacha Guardians event that is for a Mercantile Store display. It's a great set that comes with a selection of different shelves stacked with various items, hanging candles and sausage, and all those little props that make you feel like you've gone back in time to a cowboy store! I then, decided to combine these props with some of the gorgeous signs made by Paper Moon - also for The Gacha Guardians event - to add that little extra to the picture... The American Farmer's Market signs look like a perfect combination with the store set! 
It's not something I am used to doing, but I actually really enjoyed playing around with this... I don't think it will make me a furniture photographer any time soon but I really enjoyed it for a change!!
