Leave me alone... I'm Reading!

After a day like today I want to do nothing more than tell the world to sod off.. I want to be left alone somewhere I'm surrounded by books, without anyone near me and the only thing I have to wonder about is WHAT am I going to read...

I long for the kinda days I used to hate... The days when our school required us to spend anhour lesson a week in the library reading all kinds of different books... I wish I could go back to that, rather than working my arse off as an adult... Being an adult is majorly overrated!!!
Also can I just take a moment to say... I FREAKIN LOVE THIS OUTFIT!!!! A pair of Aika Pants - from AsteroidBox at Kustom9 until April 10th - and the coolest looking shirt and tie combo - from amiable - it's like the best version of a school uniform that I never had!!!

The Magic of a Library

I had planned to work on this post two days ago now, and when it didnt work on the last day of January I thought I'd get to it yesterday. My body defied that plan... I had the worst migraine of my life, and almost wished that I was dead just to stop the pain. I didn't want to think, I didn't want to do anything and I couldn't even if I had tried... 
Today though I feel so much better, my brain is alive and have finally got a clear head. I feel so much better now that allowing my brain to slip into a fantasy world while I read a good book is possible now that my head is free and not pulsing with neon auras that make everything spin... I am ready to jump into the fantasy head first... 

On days like today, when I decided that I needed to get myself into the books I had to find the perfect thing to read... I had to head to the Midnight Order's Library - an amazing backdrop released by Dirty Rat for the Midnight Order event that runs until February 20th - to find the perfect book. Once I entered the chamber though, things looked more than a little magical. As I walked further into the floor, the floorboards seemed to be disappearing, books were swirling around being dragged into the most magical of rainbow vortexes... Sparkles luring me in, making me want to dive on in to the stories that were flowing from the pages of these amazing books...

Armed but not too Dangerous

Stop, Hold Up, Back it up and FREEZE! This is a stick up... Or something of that kinda ilk?! Wait, wasn't that the bad guys that said something like that?! Maybe it was a combination of both the cops and the robbers in the movies, I don't know anymore, but all I know is that my hubby was watching cop shows on TV and I wanted some attention LOL... 

Dressed in an Armed and Dangerous outfit - from Reign - with an amazing pair of boots decorated with corset laces - the Rita Boots from CULT if you want to know - parking her Coppish Butt onto the corner of the Examination Table - or that should read EXXXam Table, a FaMESHed X release from Violetility - that she's using as a desk to wait and see if he would notice...

Waiting for Sharks

GUESS WHO IS BACKKKKK??? That's right ME!!! I've been away for a few days in RL while my lovely parents came to visit me in Holland, and Rudh has had a bit of a mini break... She went to swim with the sharks, for a little bit of a late Shark Week Adventure!! 

In case you didn't realise it I actually love sharks... Not as much as Mermaids, and no where near as much as other things but I can't help it, it's something on my bucket list... I'm gonna swim with them one day! For now though I'll have to settle for watching them in SL, watching them from The Shark Bay Hut at WHOLE WHEAT, with my cute little dressed for the part Jian Pointer!

"But you said to collect the Shells?"

Recently on Flickr I posted a photo that I had taken of a large group of rough looking "soldiers"... It was a group photo, a bit of a memory if you will, for a large group of people that are very close to our SL family, The Gators MC! Let me fill you in a little more clearly lol...
One of the things that happens with MCs - that's Motorcycle Clubs for those of you that think I'm rambling total rubbish by the way - is that alliances are made between different clubs. Basically meaning one family, not that family is the right term for all MCs but it is definitely the case for ours, will suddenly grow and find themselves surrounded by an extended family. Now, all aspects of MC life, no matter how serious these groups think they are, is that it is all about roleplay. Some, like us, spend their time goofing off - OK maybe that is JUST us - but some rp as if they are real and fight with others. Hence why, even though we never get involved with that kind of rubbish, we do have allies around us.
A few weeks ago now, the Gators were approached by one of these groups and asked to host a surprise leaving party for one of their members. The one leaving was Eugene... He is like an annoying little brother to me, so how could we say no. It was to be army themed, because he was going away to Bootcamp for a few months... So, I had another excuse to get dressed up!!!

I thought, knowing me, that I needed to make a joke out of this photo somehow LOL... SO in my head this crazy scenario played out while I was setting up the shot, in which TA Wylder - President of the Mad Dogs MC, the one that Eugene was part of - asked me to go collect the shells... He wasn't specific, and I'm a bit blonde LOL... Hence why, I went to the beach on a detour and collected a bucket of seashells, which if you're lucky you may also be able to buy ready collected from Cute Bytes!
The rest of the outfit was as in army style, and wearing camoflague, as I was going to get. Its not something I have in my hoard and not something that I really like, but this outfit including the arm warmers from Corvus, was good enough to make me smile!
I pulled my hair up into a lazy up-do, and then went to town on the accessories. Adding a used bullet casing earring from Remarkable Oblivion to one ear, and a military bullet leg strap from DIRTYLAND to one leg, with a finishing tought being a pair of over the knee socks from League and some Military Aviators boots from FLite! My look for the military was complete, and I really hope it wouldn't offend!

All that was left for our extended family, is to wish Eugene lots of luck at Bootcamp, and hope he comes home safely. What a rabble our extended family makes, not that I would name them all but this lot is a collection of Gators MC, Mad Dogs MC, Death Dealers MC and Broken Skull MC... We don't look like scary bikers, we're far too cute and cuddly looking huh?!

Trip to the Hanky Panky Store

Sometimes you get inspired to take a different kind of photo... Some people stop taking pictures of themselves to take photos of furniture and decor, others do landscapes - neither of which I am very good at by the way! - but when I start taking pics that are a little different, I somehow cannot get past the vanity of taking pictures of myself LOL...
Though shot in a different way, I seem to shoot myself more than anyone else, and granted sometimes that can get a little boring - it does stop me worrying quite so much about whether people will like it or not LOL - but I try to mix it up, and sometimes find that the back view is better than the front LOL...

This was one of those outfits.
The back was what caught my attention most, due to the fact that from the front, this looks like a fairly basic simple black sweater, it's only when you turn around you can see that it's far from basic. The {dollle*} Open Shoulder Crop Sweaters are available for the latest round of The Candy Shop - normally this is an event I will glance through on Seraphim, but pay no real attention to as it's not my style... Just goes to show that sometimes things we'd normally avoid are just what we want?!
I dressed it fairly casual, wearing some oldie-but-goodie ripped shorts from SAKIDE and ripped AMERIE socks with my new FLite Military Aviator Boots, and stomped around in the Urban Setting of Virtual Decay, until I found a store I just had to visit hehe...
