Awakening the Spring Spirit

Back from my vacation and ready to get back into being an adult, I think?!! I mean does anyone ever really want to be an adult? There are so many expectations that I simply cannot be excited about it right now... I guess that's why I let my mind wander into the fantasy realm sometimes, and since I'm already missing my parents, that's just where I will let my mind go again... 
Maybe it's time to start planning ahead and welcoming in the spirits of Spring...

The Spirits of Spring have been hanging around the Nature Palace - which is a backdrop from The Bearded Guy - until it was time to start coming out of hiding. Things are still inter changable between the hot and the cold, there is no way that we can be sure and so everyone has been taking scarves and gloves, as well as light coats wherever they go... Hopefuly now that the Spring Spirits are awakening, preparing their magical spells and coming out into the light things may start getting a little warmer, brighter and happier...

Going to the "Cowboy" Store?!

You may have noticed that recently I've been trying out taking pictures that aren't of people somewhat... I was getting tired of always looking at my perfectly formed pixel face, and decided that I'd test the water taking pictures of other things... 
I've never been too confident when it comes to taking pictures of Furniture and Décor, but a release from one of my favourite stores prompted me to at least try, and that's why today I am only going to be talking about furniture!!!

I have two houses in SL to appeal to my random tastes in both the cute and crazy - this is the house I call my play house - and the more grown up side of myself... Each is decorated totally differently, one is stuffed with bright colours, the other is muted but has whimsical touches that give it a little fairytale feel... Yet I rarely think about different types of furniture. I never in a million years would have thought that today I'd be writing a post about a store style décor but hey would you look at that, here I am about to talk about store style décor!!
The reason for this is that two of the places I really enjoy working for have just created things which are store based, and looked great together! 
Lost Junction made a set for The Gacha Guardians event that is for a Mercantile Store display. It's a great set that comes with a selection of different shelves stacked with various items, hanging candles and sausage, and all those little props that make you feel like you've gone back in time to a cowboy store! I then, decided to combine these props with some of the gorgeous signs made by Paper Moon - also for The Gacha Guardians event - to add that little extra to the picture... The American Farmer's Market signs look like a perfect combination with the store set! 
It's not something I am used to doing, but I actually really enjoyed playing around with this... I don't think it will make me a furniture photographer any time soon but I really enjoyed it for a change!!

Dinner and a Bed for the Night

Normally when I take pictures there tends to be a central human focus, be that myself or if I am really lucky a model! Yet sometimes you have to push the boat out and try new things...
One of the things that I am not so sure of, and definitely not so good at would be landscape photography. I learnt that last night whilst working on an article that I have been asked to write for a new to SL magazine I am working for called L'Amour Diversity. There will be more information on that later, but for now bare in mind that I am working on improving skills involving location photography and somewhat artsy-fartsy type photos lol...
Recently you may have heard that The Arcade is now in full swing... If you haven't heard, where the heck have you been hiding?! There are so many things available and I plan on hitting the yardsales very hard, very soon, but for now I want to show you something that I was priviledge enough to be sent as a blogger box... The items from Consignment are AMAZING - as always...

I've always been a fan of the work of Wavie Haller, but sometimes he - like others I cover things for - will sometimes make things that I get confused about what I want to do with them...  For me the Arcade release was one of those this time... The items are based around a Summer in the Park, and what looks like it could be straight from some American park somewhere - possibly Central Park - but don't quote me on that LOL... The items are fairly versatile though and could be used in any setting - well most of them at least - but I have to admit that things were pretty big, especially the really pretty rare Bridge! How was I going to use it?!
By doing something artsy-fartsy of course... Thank you Wavie for getting me to push myself with this one... The poor little pidgeon found himself a cosy bed for the night in this hat, and a yummy hotdog for supper too, so the bridge proved to be the perfect roosting spot, the dark scary things kept away by a street light... He was a VERY lucky pigeon!!

Gators... More than just an MC...

The Gators MC... My SL family... Yes we are a Motorcycle Club - one of million, it seems, in the SL world - but from what I know of these other places, we seem different, more than just your average MC... We are a truly tight-knit family... 

So when it came to time for a new family photograph I decided that I wanted to do something a little different. In the past and in so many other MC member photos, you see posed - almost staid - photographs where people look a little uncomfortable! I wanted to do something that showed off the familiar bond between each of the members in the group. 

This isn't the entire group, some people were missing due to RL commitments, but it gives you a definite idea of our family dynamic... Chilling out, the couples being couply - with the exception of Hell and I because well he is better off with his "son" while I try to avoid my Mum Kara's amourous display with MeGa lol... 
I will say that you're lucky you didn't hear the conversation topic while the photo was being taken... This time it was a debate over were we watching Star Wars - Ath and Hell's choice - or was it Finding Nemo - which to be honest, at least it wasn't Frozen LOL... 
Still, the pose prop itself was the brand new Movie Night Skybox from Consignment, which you can grab for yourself at Uber. I did have to add an extra pillow, in the form of this Brown Lounge Pillow from [we're CLOSED], but that's only because I had one too many butts hehe... The Skybox happily seats 9 people! 
Still I really love the idea of this photo, a crazy group hanging out in a cute setting watching movies, that sums the Gators MC up pretty well most of the time, and so I say this here because I am cheeky like that... When the stars can't get through...

Things have been so crazy in my SL as of late... I lost one of the people I called one of my besties, someone who was always around and had become part of my RL as well as my SL... HellBone finally made me relent and we discussed, then moved to a new full sim, so my SL homelife has been majorly disrupted... I've been busy helping him set up his vehicle store at the new location, marketplace never seems to make things easy!
So when I finally had a chance to relax, I really let myself go LOL... Shopping was what the doctor ordered, a little time to take some photos too, oh and as I was lucky I even managed to finish decorating my own little space on the new sim! I say finish but it will always be a work in progress LOL. Though one of the things that I did get my grubby little hands on this week, was something so pretty and twinkly that I just couldn't wait to share it with you!

The twinkly thing would be the bed, I mean I know it seems obvious but sometimes the obvious needs to be stated... Anyway, as I mentioned earlier, the Gator Swamp has been packed up and moved, lock, stock and barrel to a new full sim home.
As always with Hell's gardening style, it looks great and feels very calming and realistic - well as realistic as it can with a hoard of loud bikers roaming through it - but there were a few things missing. Somewhere peaceful, away from the main clubhouse base for example...
That was where this gorgeous new bed, available now at FaMESHed from the brilliant mind that is Wavie Haller - owner of Consignment. The bed's wicker base comes in a selection of colours and the cushions are scripted with a myriad of different colours and designs. My favourite part of this gorgeous bed though, happens to be the lights. I am such a sucker for fairy lights in RL! I have a set that I keep up all year... I love the warm light that they create, and so when I saw this already gorgeous bed has a fairy light option I was instantly hooked!! Thank you Mr Haller for sharing this with your blogger group hehe...
The outfit I was wearing, as I guess I should at least mention it, could be classed as another Look-of-the-Week as it's been my go back to outfit no matter what I changed into to create blogging photos... The outfit itself is one that has sat gathering dust a little in my hoard, until I randomly found it last week. It is a past event release from SAKIDE called Nero, and it is beyond cute! Some teeny short shorts and a loose - just two panels of material really - shirt that can be plain or with polka dots!
Wearing my hair loose, I kept the accessories simple! A set of the Rare Hamburger Bangles in black from CandyDoll, and some adorable killer - or Succubus - heels from DRBC, and the look was complete... Just a shame I skinned my knees while riding on the track today... Anyone have a hankie?!
