Sorry I'm rocking out in my own little world to the Bangles song "Walk Like an Egyptian" since I've been working on a photo that I wanted to take with a very Egyptian Pharaoh type theme... I blame it on some of the awesomeness that I picked up at the latest round of the Fantasy Gacha Carnival... stuff that had been hidden in a tomb for over 3000 years.
To think all this started, and a song got stuck in my head, because of a few new goodies... I'm actually gonna lay most of the blame on Violetility this time... Dark Magic... Something that I have recently thought of as that which shouldn't be dabbled in... I know a number of RL White Witches but saw first hand a reaction of one of my friends when she met someone that practised something darker, and boy was it an uncomfortable feeling... Yet it's the dark magic that always allures me... It's that dark magic which makes a girl feel powerful and devious, so when I'm lured to the dark side I tend to let myself go there freely - unless it's the Star Wars dark side then it's always under extreme duress LOL... Deep in a cave, Rudh has been welcomed as a high priestess into the Dark Magic Clan... An epic battle rages on between the Dark Magic and the Blood Magic, and it's going to be nasty, especially now we have a little of the Blood Magic's Magic!!!
My mind can so easily go into over drive when I'm being creative it seems so it's not my fault that when I'm handed a set like this amazing Dark Magic Collection, my mind runs away with me... This amazing collection is a Fantasy Gacha Carnival release from the awesome Violetility. Everything you see here in this picture - Rudh excluded - is available in the gacha collection in both the Dark Magic - blue - and Blood Magic - red - versions... I had so much fun turning myself into a Dark Magic Mage... I love when I get things that allow my mind to wander to far away fairytale, imagination lands... There have been a few things lately that I have simply had to have for this purpose, and this purpose alone... Sometimes you find something and it's so perfect for an idea in your head that you will do anything to get it! Normally that's OK but when it's a gacha, oh dear am I in trouble!
It was exactly the case with this AMAZEBALLS Racing Snail, from the Hextraordinary Garden Snail Collection available at the current round of The Gacha Garden. The common pets in this series are awesome, either companion or wandering snails, but these are teeny tiny, and I had to fight for one of the big ones, the racing snails!! Once I had the snail though I needed a perfect look for it, and what would be better for riding a snail than a Fairy perhaps... It was at that point that I remembered the cool new release from 1313 MockingBird Lane, which was also released at a newly opened gacha event - The Fantasy Gacha Carnival, which is the Ealsaid outfits - worn in brown here but available in three other colour sets too - and that seemed perfect for the attire of a Fairy Shaman! I'm not a religious person, but I do believe in Karma... No matter what happens to a person there always seems to be something that will come back to haunt a person. This weekend was a special holiday in Holland - the holiday of Sinterklaas - and I know I mentioned this about a few hundred times now but MY PARENTS WERE HERE!!! I had such a lovely time with my parents and it felt so good having them around, although now I feel a bit lost as they have gone back to the UK and left me behind. Now as great as it always is having them here, it's a little bit frenetic, things go crazy and there is little peace in the house LOL... I am working in my SL job at the moment but it seems to be fairly quiet, so whilst I am watching the chat I thought "why not talk to you a little more?!" What to talk about though? Hehe well this is embarrassing... No one was meant to see me testing out what it would feel like to wear a halo... Ooops! I had to prop it up on my little horns so that I could see it, and the thing wouldn't stay on... It's almost like I'm not meant to wear a halo or be angelic!!! But hey, when someone leaves a Halo laying around, you can't help yourself but see how it would look right?!

We're going home for a week... It sounds like a strange thing to say since technically my "home" is now in Holland, but those of you that live in a country - or any place for that matter - that you're not native to will no doubt understand. No matter how much I have tried to assimilate myself into "being Dutch", it will never feel as truly restful for me as when I am able to just be English. You miss the little things, as much as you miss the bigger things like the family you've moved away from. It sounds crazy to say, as I cannot stand it in Holland, but I really cannot wait to do something as simple as go to the supermarket! Gacha machines are like Pringles - once you pop, you can't stop - especially when the items contained within are something that you REALLY - REALLYYYYYYYYY - want... Normally I try to restrain myself, knowing that I can find things at the yardsales, but when something is in a Gacha Machine that is an Ultra Rare, and I really need to have it, well... Let's put it this way Rudhie went a little "Gimme Gimme Gimme" Gacha Crazy... You can't blame me, blame CURELESS if you have to blame someone LOL... My original family in SecondLife was made up of many mythical beings - kitties, fae, witches and even the odd vampire or two - but there was a predominance of Dragons. I was the pet and girlfriend of one, and sister of another, although it took one Ultra Rare Dragon to force the transformation on me...
Isn't he gorgeous?! He lured me over to the Forest of Dreams "TELRUNYA" and high in the ruins, my transformation began... My hands and feet began to tingle as the clawed dragon parts forced their way through my human skin, which peeled by like a knife slicing through butter to reveal the dark green scales I've always been concealing! Ever have one of those days when all you want to do is shut out the world, curl up and sleep, all the while though your mind thinks 'someone save me!' Well today I am having one of those kind of days... I woke up this morning and although I LOVE thunderstorms I prefer not to have to go out in them and well wouldn't you know while I'm hiding from the rain in a metal bus shelter, the storm started! Add to that I am suffering from an emotional rollercoaster and BAM isn't it great to be Rudh right now?! So the picture that I have chosen to share with you today is representative of that feeling of 'someone save me!' A princess locked in a tower, BUT there are signs of hope for her, someone has left her a rose... Who she doesn't know, but I'm hoping that like the princess, someone will leave me a rose - or show me my sparkle again or even just give me a hug randomly!
The rose is actually a part of the decoration on the Paper Moon Song's Ephemera Tray called My Lady Silver. The Princesses dress is actually one of my favourite freebies in a LONG time... Time for a little more Voodoo magic... I am on a roll this month, three looks in three days, all of them focused on the Voodoo side of SL and the awesome releases from this month't Horror Haute! There is so much choice in this month's line-up that any Voodoo King or Queen would feel right at home and be able to get themselves a new wardrobe all at once!
This look was inspired by one of these outfits... The Ghost Story Releases are a series of three different coloured dress and turban sets called Marie Leveau. I chose a redish coloured one and removed my hair so that it looked perfect with the scarf draped around my head. I kept the rest of the outfit simple so that I could showcase the clothing better, I added a pair of Aftershok VooDoo shoes and a Helian Necklace from KOSH, and then my third Voodoo look was complete!!! Sometimes I find that taking pictures and blogging as a whole is hard work... I've come to realise just how hard in the past few days as I have found myself running out of blogging juice and losing my mojo somewhat... I've been tired, lashing out and getting more and more frustrated... So I took a few days away from SL to be in RL... When I came back my mind was ready to start taking pictures again and it's lucky because the new round of The Witching Hour is now underway!!! There are some really cool items to share with you this month... But first I was playing around with a couple of new props... Something brilliant happened!?!
On Wednesday night, some of my girlies and I in RL went to see an early release showing of 50 Shades of Grey... I was never a fan of the book, but it was what my friend wanted to do for her Birthday. I have to say, the book and the film both proved to be a massive disappointment to me... I'm not going to go into my reasons but being honest the film was worse than the book, in my opinion. You don't have to take my word for it, but I tell you I was bored and a lot of my 50 shades loving friends were more than a little disappointed!
Still at least in SL we can make the imaginings in our heads a little more of a reality... This pose from Image Essentials - called Earned it, in a 5 Shades of Grey Design - would possibly work just for what I wanted lol... Now all I need it someone to tie me to a chair? Any takers? Maybe the look I chose was a little bit slave girlish, maybe that puts some people off because I look like I am going to put up less of a fight?! The outfit is loosely based on that of Kida - the somewhat forgotten Disney Princess of Atlantis - and although you can get your grubby hands on it in the true Kida colours, I just seemed drawn to the black and silver set. Memory is such a wonderful thing... Each one like a star in our own personal night sky, least that was what I was always told when I was little by my grandmother... She always used to tell me that the bigger and brighter the star looked in the sky, the more special the memory was... Memories are at the front of my mind at the moment, one of my friend's mothers has just been diagnosed with Alzheimers, and if I'm honest something like that would scare me more than a sudden accident or a reduced life expectancy... I think it's put me in a bit of a sombre mood!
The picture, luckily, seems more pensive than sad but it fits perfectly with the idea of stars being our saved memories... The title of the post holds a memory in itself that will ALWAYS make me smile! It's lyrics from a song by a "boyband" - though the term boys may not be appropriate anymore since they are all in their 40s LOL - called Take That. Even though I am a rock girl through and through, my first celebrity crush was on one of the members, and I've always thought of them as the skeletons in my music loving closet hehe... The memory that links to the post title though is due to the effect this song has on my mum! We went to see the band at a concert a few years ago, I'd not long left home but was back with her to see them, and the song brought tears to her eyes... I miss my mum all the time so this song always brings a smile to my face when I can't get home to see her... The outfit, which must be discussed, was something almost moonlight angelic in style. I adorned myself with a wig from Ploom - told you you'd be seeing this hair a lot though, I have it in a LOT of colours hehe.., I wanted eyes that seemed to be reflecting the light of the moon, and I found the perfect pair from SongBird, these Winter Fae eyes do come with make-up too but it was too dark for what I needed here! The dress, one of the very few plain white ones that I do actually have, is a Halter Gown from Valentina E, but it is the accessories that were the entire reason for this photo... I spotted the Starshine Gacha Collection at the Cirque De Seraphim and immediately had to have the horns! I will however say, that due to the Rare nature of the horns, the Sweet Thing store made a damn good profit from me LOL... Not that I mind, the horns are worth it! All she needs now is a star to ride on... OH and have a little Take That... The song means a lot to me, so I have to share since they are the memory behind this post hehe...
Some people have an fear of the circus, not because of the circus itself but because of something - or should that be someone - you'd see there... I never really liked them all that much, and would purposely avoid any that I ever had the displeasure of seeing face to face, but in truth Clowns have never been the stuff of my nightmares! I can see why people don't like them, and as I said I don't actively have anything to do with them if I can, but according to Sam Winchester "apparently clowns kill", and as we all well know, if it's said on the TV then it MUST be true LOL... Seems though that I have NO PROBLEM dressing Rudh up as some for of creepy carnie or another, being honest with you normal clowns are the ones that freak me most, anything that looks evil I know is fairytale... If that makes any sense what-so-ever?!
My dark and macabre side is often attracted to the bright colours of the Carnival... I had been out shopping on two separate occasions with two of my bestest peoples, and the attraction of the Circus pulled me to the dark side... So of course, me being me I HAD to make a dark carnie costume LOL... Starting with my look, and PLEASE don't ask me why I was drawn to pink LOL I don't know! The hair is a pretty one, with it's cute and curly base, from Ploom that you can win yourself from a gacha at the Fantasy Gacha Carnival. You may see this a LOT, I have it in every colour now because I wanted a red version and couldn't get one LOL... I went with pink dipped dyes in the end because I just couldn't resist this old but still pretty Leri Miles Designs body suit! The necklace is one that seemed to fit perfectly with the look I was creating, but I will admit this is actually an older release too - I hope these things are still available! It's a necklace called Archaic from Cute Poison, who not only make the best piercings in SL - in my opinion - but also make other pretty adornments, just like this one! Then came the time to put on my carnie girl make-up... I went for a Dark Circus look, from A*S, that you can pick up now at Cirque De Seraphim! While on the subject of Cirque De Seraphim, I should actually start talking about my little circus friends! Eli the Elephant, in a gray version, can be picked up from the Silentsparrow booth at the Cirque, and even though I had such a hard time choosing between the colours, the fact that I can change her clothes is AWESOME! Lastly, but by no means least, the super cute little Ghost Clown Dolly from Katat0nik... I had to play the machine A LOT for this one - stupid gachas LOL - but to make it even worse Jimmy wanted one too LOL *facepalms*... ISN'T SHE CUTE THOUGH?! Go get your own at the Xiasumi School Festival before they run back to hide at the mainstore, just be aware, they are in the haunted area... Keep checking over your shoulder people hehe... Some people, in SL, I know change their skin like a chameleon, wearing many different ones depending on how they feel - I do very occasionally when blogging something or being dead - but for me, finding a new "everyday wear" skin is important. I don't mind admitting that I am VERY fussy and will wear the same skin, as my basic skin, for long periods of time! So when I do seek to find a new one, and eventually find one that I am happy in, it is a bit of a big deal for me! It makes me feel like it's a fresh start, a new beginning and some might say a step forward, perhaps?
I guess that's why my photo has somewhat of a pensive nature to it?! What I will tell you is that, a few moments of contemplation whilst taking this photo - hiding from the MC - and giving myself a chance to breathe really do help in the humdrum of a SL day! My new skin is from Glam Affair. I like the way they look on my body and I love how soft and fresh faced this one looks too... I love the fact too though that a skin can be worn by anyone and look different. I bought this skin from the latest round of Collabor88 and was a little worried that I'd look cloned along with everyone else that tried the skin out... I didn't need to worry too much hehe... I looked different to all of the ladies trying demos! My second "OH MY GOD" thing in this photo has to be the seat! I LOVE this seat!!! I don't normally get over the top excited about furniture, but this Cocktailbird Nest Chair from {anc} - which you can win yourself at The Fantasy Gacha Carnival by the way - is just gorgeous! Stuffed with some cute poses and really pretty to look at, I am definitely using this in the garden and will be sitting there more often from now on hehe... The rest of my outfit will be clearer if I show a comparison between my skins though so...

The way I dress won't change though, and aside from the Gator Vest that I have to wear fairly regularly this outfit really screams RUDH! THe long curls and soft beanie of the Bramble hair from Spellbound, have been fairly predominant as a hair choice for me lately, and the shirt is an old favourite from R3volt - not that you can see it under my vest mind you! The EMPORIUM shorts were an "I cannot resist those" kinda item, I bought them at a past round of Fi*Friday for 55L and as well as that, the Obscure Vampire Necklace was snapped up at the same time too hehe...
