Chips and Guac

It's May 5th...Cinco de Mayo... In the past I've mentioned I wanted to look more at other cultures holidays, and I did pay some attention to Chinese New Year, and I have in the past looked at Dia de los Muertos, but you hear the term Cinco de Mayo and I've never known what it is...This year I'm going to have a little look into the special day for the Mexicans, and I'll do that with some nachos and guac... 

So what is Cinco de Mayo... Originally a day to remember the victory in battle, Cinco de Mayo is now considered more of a celebration of Mexican culture... 
Knowing very little about Mexican culture other than what I've seen online I feel a little like I could cause offence by talking about tacos and sombreros and pinatas, and I mean no offence. I LOVE Mexican Food, althouh I guess you should more realistically say Tex-Mex foods... I love a good burrito, and nachos, and quesadilla, I'm not a HUGE fan of guacamole, but that's only because I think avocados taste like snot... However, I cannot resist the urge to fill a Nacho Dip Hat - from Junk Food - a sombrero that is perfectly formed to make a bowl for dip! It even provides extra chips for when the bag is empty...

Dance of the Demons

I've been full of so much sweetness, cuteness and colourfulness that I think I've been hiding behind the rainbow happiness and keeping the deep, dark, monstrous side of me hidden way deep down within. I know that my monstrous side ususally comes out when I'm happiest, but right now she's ready to come out to unleash Hell on people that are crossing my path. I love my life, I love my job and I love the things going on but there are just way too many people and I'm totally exhausted... I want to kick some butt, and I think that the monster in me is feeling fiesty... 

Tonight I'm feeling more than a little dark and dangerous, it's going to be an Evil Night there will be blood as the demon in me comes back out to play for the first time in a long time... 
Her Ancient Wings - a gorgeous pair of wings that can be with and without feathers from Aii - springing from her back, her Mephisto Tail - from LVL9 at Engine Room - slithers around her legs, and the matching horns appearing through her hair... It is the wounds on her Scarred Body - from Cubic Cherry, also at Engine Room until April 20th - and her Mercurial Mantis Eve arms - from mercurial, at Engine Room too - that show just how much this angel has fallen. She may still have her feathers but those are the last remnants of her angel days...

Oopsie Daisie...

I went out to an appointment today, had to go to my monthly fat fighters class, and whilst we were out HellBone and I made a few stops to buy some Christmas gifts... When I got home, I made a rather shocking discovery... The postman had been, and perhaps I MAY have purchased too many things to gift to people... The doormat was buried under a mountain of boxes... 

Managed to persuade HellBone not to kill me as I told him it was Christmas presents. What I didn't really admit was that some of these were presents for the Cleaner, the Chef, the Dog Walker and the Washer Woman... All of which happen to be me!
I quickly had to move all of the delivery packages - which were sent over by Junk Food - out of his eyeline before he started opening things and discovering all the treats were for me...

Sparking Up!

I don't normally partake in anything smoking related anymore, not since I finally forced myself to quit during the pandemic, but days like this and while I'm still feeling totally homesick, I find myself feeling drawn to rolling a joint and helping myself to relax... I'm feeling contemplative, trying to get on with things and mentally prepare myself for the stress of going back to work... 

I have this feeling of wanting to unburden myself, I could write paragraphs of nonsense about feelings and wanting to find ways to cheer myself up, but I think that it will send everyone to sleep.... We all have our issues, we all have our problems and we all have to deal with these things in our own way. I know I'll survive, it's really just a little homesickness. It's just taking me a little longer to get over than normal... 
For now though, I'm going to sneak onto the roof and light an emergency joint that I have tucked away.. Don't tell anyone will you?!

Ice Cream Headache

Life has turned upside down a little bit or so it seems at the moment. I've found myself lost in a bad place and my mind seems to not be able to right itself... I'm overly tired, I'm stressing out and crying about things that mean nothing and I really don't even know what to do to fix any of it... Work has been a busy nightmare and I NEED a break. My PC has taken a bit of a nosedive and my hubs is doing anything that he can try to make it work again. I'm tense and on edge and feeling empty, and not even hubs gift of an adorable little squishmallow friend could make me feel better about things!!! 
I tried EVERYTHING... I even resorted to making myself the world's most delicious looking ice cream and all it did was give me brain freeze... 

I LOVE Ice Cream - like the delicious bowl of Ice Cream Nachos that I found from Junk Food on the Conch Island Festival... there is only one problem with Ice Cream... If you eat too mujch of it, it can cause epic amounts of Brain Freeze, which can in turn result in your head hitting the table which may mean you get a face full of Ice Cream and Sprinkles - from Kotte...

Rainbows in the Stars

The stars are shining bright tonight, as they twinkle it's in rainbow colours, blues and pinks, yellows and greens... They sparkle and twinkle and glitter in the dark... They have invaded the White Tower - a skybox created for Midnight Order by ChiMia - of the Midnight Order, which is slowly preparing to disappear into the darkness when the doors close on the 20th of the month... The members of the order gathering together inside the towers walls, basking in their last moments to dance in the light... 

Sometimes I like to make dark, macabre and brutal looking pictures, but I LOVE times when I get all pretty and sparkly... 
The sparkling stars were an inspiration for me today, the starsigns forming a 'Starry Halo' - an accessory from LuluB! - and whilst her head is in the clouds, she's sparkling... The lightning in her eyes sending sparks from her that reflect the colours and glitter through the room...

Pizza on Cyber Monday

After the Black Friday weekend and all of the fabulous sales that were dominant in Second Life this weekend - I've seen it said that the sales in SL seem better than they were in RL, and I think that I am in agreement with that statement - the sales were epic and massive in their number. Although now that Monday has come around, there has recently been a new day in the sales calendar, Cyber Monday... Of course, although it's an extra day of shopping, today is the chance for me to do Cyber in a different kinda way... 

Tonight, I'm heading into the Old Arcade - a pose set with the arcade machine props from Fashiowl Poses - where the new and shiny cyborgs are hanging out to dine on some delicious Pizza. Eating Pizza is a messy business, and the cheese seemed to get everywhere. You have to be so careful that you don't get the cheese on the fabulous old Caddy Couches - from Krescendo - which happen to be so comfortable, you won't resist being able to sit on them...

An Extra Long Hotdog with Mustard!

I'm a bit lost at the moment, I'm a little bit confused and more than a little hungry... I need to find something to eat but at the same time I need to find my blogging Mojo... I think I lost it since Halloween has gone and I have no idea what to do with myself anymore LOL... What do you do when you have no more Halloween fun to blog anymore?! I'm lost... I'm going to have to find something delicious to take my mind off it... 

I ended up letting my feet lead my stomach, and I found some delicious nomnom baguettes in a local PewPew deli. I had plans to turn it into garlic bread, sandwiches and possible dip some into fondue, but as I was wandering along a Fall Pathway - a backdrop from Synnergy - I caught a smell that smelled delicious. I ended up asking the hot dog vendor to put one of his dogs in a stick and make me an ExtraLong Hot Dog with tonnes of delicious mustard...

The Flowers have Eyes

 It's been an eventful day for me, I went on a RL adventure to another location and it's always interesting as an adventure goes... Whenever I go on an adventure in RL, I find myself wanting to go on adventures in my SL as well... As it's almost Halloween, I can do just that, I can let my mind wander off to a magical place, where the flowers have a very dark almost Wonderland feel, and their caretaker is more than a little green fingered and unseelie... 

This garden has a lot of the wonder, a little of the magic and a lot more of the creepy... The Roses have eyes, the flowers have a spidery look, and even the trees are twisted and curly - thanks to LOVE - but still it's the eyes that are the strangest parts of this garden... The flowers communicate with the fae that her, half fae, half demon - a release from Forest Fantasy Store with additional greenery from GERMINAL in the After Dark Green Tattoo and Drow Sleeves - seems to be sprouting from her body. She's a Forest Fae - in an outfit from Decoy - with a touch of darkness in her wings - from Quills & Curiosities - but she's really a Shy Eyeris - thanks to the awesome flowers from Tardfish.

Demonic Oracle and her Pretty Nightmares

There have been so many monsters so far in my 31 days of Halloween looks, but nothing I'd consider to be truly scary... Until now... Tonight we're taking a very dark trip into the macabre darkness of the cemetery. It's the middle of the night now, there's a low hanging mist and an eerie stillness hangs over the grounds. It's lifeless, soul-less, bleak, all with the exception of one twisted looking being standing in the moonlight, and some of the craziest spirits whirling around her... 

If you are brave enough to get close, you will no doubt set your eyes upon one of the most twisted demonic ladies you'll ever find. She's an Oracle, the eyes on her masks and arms - from the Quills & Curiosities releases at Necrotize - and her body is covered in the markings of a Demon Bat - from the Forest Fantasy Store - and a mist aura cloaking her body. The strange spirits flying around in the mist happen to be a herd of NightMares - from Tardfish at The Guild - the remnants of the horses that carried the knights to war...

Memories on the Screen

Our brain is such a powerful tool, it makes the world's super computers look like amateurs, and even the most useless of people are brilliantly clever if they really put their mind to it! They run our bodies and keep us alive, they keep skills held tight so they can be used any time they are needed, and they hold on to so many of our wonderful memories as well as those things that we wish to forget, our secrets, our hopes and our fears... We can call on them when we need them, some come to the front of our minds unbidden, and others are locked up tight... 
If we had a machine that could tap into our memories, I wonder what we'd discover... 

I think if we had a machine that could share our thoughts it could be either really great - a way to help us clear our minds of the bad things - or really terribly - if things are used against us... Imagine if someone got hold of our innermost secrets?!!! 
I'd hope that if someone has seen memories in my head, they will only find the happy things. Memories of my childhood days, reminders of my favourite toys. There are so many that spring to mind at times, things I'd forgotten, things that may no longer exist... 
Whilst I don't have a machine, I will admit that I DO have a lot of toys, lots of them to remind me of my youthful days. Once the machine has found the image, it could be printed out and everyone can take a closer look at all my lovely toys... Things like my AMAZING Rocking Horsey - from Ananas at the Fifty Linden Friday Birthday Bash - or my beautiful dolls, but you have to be careful, there is one that is a little more lively than the others... Watch out for the Pistachio Puppet - from tardfish at Enchantment - he's not as cute as he looks, he's very stabby... 
Now as the image on the screen of the picture in my mind is small, luckily the print outs are a little bigger and give you a proper close-up...

Flutters at the Flower Market

It's been such a hot few days here, and I worked my ass off all weekend, so today I've been able to finally able to take a break and relax a little bit. I really hope that things cool down here so that I don't have to work in heat like that again. 
Today has been fairly relaxing, I've done a few things around the house, taking my time with them while trying to stay cool, and even went to the market. I was so tempted to get some flowers, there are SO many beautiful flowers and they looked so happy... I know they'd wilt at home... 

One of my favourite things in my SL home has to be the little market area that I've set up... I wanted something pretty to decorate the space, and since I love flowers, the flower market seemed to fall together naturally... SO MANY FLOWERS, and a touch of magic... I'd done some shopping, I'd bought a paper and some bread and fruits but the colours of the flowers, and the flashing flickers of colours drew me in. The beautiful Fluttery Friends - a hunt item from Quills & Curiosities, available until August 31st at Enchantment - were enjoying the gorgeous flowers too... What a beautiful Flower Shop - a pose set from Fashiowl helped with this picture set up - and well once hooked, I was buying flowers LOL...

Magical Mouse Burgers

Once again, it's dinner time and once again I seem to find myself blogging as I'm thinking about food... I can't help myself focusing on food while I'm planning on doing some blogging preparation. I feel like BBQ tonight, I want burgers and the best place to get them is a BBQ with that flame grilled taste. 
I don't want just any old burgers, I want something a little more special than an ordinary burgers... I want something with a little magical sparkle! Something served, in perhaps the most magical placce on earth... I'm going for Mickey Burgers... 

The Magical Mickey Burgers, actually known as the Mouse Ears Burger - a yummy release from Junk Food - are cooked by Goofy and served by Mickey, so long as he can sneak them past Pluto on the way to the picnic table - another release from Junk Food. It's definitely the perfect garden, full of Mickey and Minnie Mouse Topiaries - from Boutique #187 - to enjoy the delicious burgers. 
Of course, since I was having some special burgers in some very special company, I HAD to get all dressed up for the part. and luckily at the recent round of Planet 29, Les Sucreries de Fairy released the awesome Burger Queen outfit. It seems like the perfect burger eating outfit!

In the Flock...

The heat has left just a little today. It has dropped from in the high 30s to a still warm, but not as hot, 26 degrees. I still want to cool off, and would love to find somewhere to swim. I'd hide from the world and float away into the cool blue... Maybe while I'm there I might make myself some new friends. Less blue, more pink, perhaps? 

Everybody has their favourites of things... If you ask anyone they would tell you their favourite colour, toy, animal or bird. I will always admit that one of my favourite birdies has to be the pretty, pink, flamingos. I love flamingos SO much, they are such weird but pretty looking birds. 
I've decided to take a trip to the Blue Lagoon - a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - which is home to a pretty flock of crazy, cute flamingos - from YOKAI. I simply couldn't resist getting myself dressed up in a bikini to head down to join them in the cool water. 
I needed a way to blend in, then I remembered my Birdy Head Hat - from Ananas, that comes in 6 different designs including penguins and angry birds, which you can get at Kustom9 until August 10th - which would help me become one with the birds...

A Future Space Odyssey

I'm stuck at home and I am BORED lol... I thought that I'd been able to get myself back to normal, but then I caught Corona and now I'm stuck at home with HellBone.. I can't wait to get over this sickness... 
My mind has been wandering, trying to work out ways to keep myself entertained... I find myself wondering about things like the future. When I was a kid they believed that we'd be flying cars by now, but we're teaching people about washing our hands, and still getting sick... 
Though I'd think that there could at least be some interesting things going on, a little bit neon and a lot of cute... 

There could be a Space Odyssey - like the backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - where the information is written in the stars. I'd make sure I wore bright colours, and lots of super cute - like the Impact outfit from Normandy - all the while I'll be drinking Starlight Water and hanging out with the Intersteller Rabbits - from Tardfish at The New Ones Event.

Bubble War... It's On!!

Sunday, as I've said before, is bath night in my house which can be taken in a lot of different ways. As long as there are bubbles, things could be called a bath right?!
Today, I've decided to go big on bath night. It's not just bath night...Hell is busy playing 'Call of Duty', I've decided that I'm going to declare war on HellBone... Come fight me Mr Barbosa LOL... 

I caused a bit if a problem, I added something to our Private Spa - which is actually a backdrop from FOXCITY - so that the whole pool ended up FULL of bubbles! Bubbles everywhere, in the air, in the water and all over me! 
I will make sure it's a fair fight though, Hell can have access to the bottles of Bubble liquid, bubble wands and bowls - which have been provided by Junk Food Bubbles Set - but I have the perfect weapon, a Bubble Blower - from Hive, in the classic not heart shaped bubble version. I'm in it, to win it!

Caught in the Food Fight

Sometimes at dinnertime things get a little chaotic with deciding what we want to eat... It's always so difficult to decide on what to eat. I get frustrated and I know that I'm not the only one... It becomes a lot of a fight sometimes... All I want to do is throw something foodish at him to break the tension... 
Right now it sends my mind into overdrive, it took me to a place in space where Rudh had to fight her way to find food... 

In the space station, Rudh started to head down the corridor toward the Dinner Hall she realised that shewas not alone, and there would definitely not be enough to share!! Time to bring out her favouritest of weapons, the Food Fight Gun - from Hangry - shooting all the dark competition to get through the rush... Have to apologise here, I didn't mean to pelt you with a burger, you just got caught in the firing line...

New Ways to make Easter Eggs

Easter is one of those very weird holidays, it seems to change every year and can be as early as the end of March or aslate as the end of April, but this year it falls on the second weekend in April. This means that as of yesterday there is exactly a month till it's chocolate egg day, one of the most confusing holidays that sees us getting chocolate eggs from a rabbit?! 
Since we're now on the month long run up to his busiest day of the year, as Santa spends time getting ready for Christmas, the Easter Bunny spends a month getting ready and preparing the chococlate eggs. There's always been rumours as to how the eggs are made, I'm about to reveal his secrets, but I'll warn you it's not exactly PG... 

Although, this is a fairly modern technique, the Easter Bunny has gotten bored of the conventional methods and is testing new things. This year he's gone for the kinky method as a trial run, he's trying to get the girls to make the eggs for him... For it to work successfully, he just needs to get the test subject excited enough. Its just needs a little Tough Love, and a few ropes tied in the right way...

Sunday Nights were always about formal family, sit-down dinners... We would all sit around and have a delicious roasted dinner, cooked by either of my parents, and it would be a chance for us all to sit down and have a chat about the week that had passed and the one that was still to come... I miss dinners like this, I seem to be eating on my own a lot these days... 
Today, I'm not eating alone... I went for a trip to visit the Aquarium and ended up making a new friend to invite to dinner... 

We went to have dinner in the aquarium restaurant, the Odyssea - a backdrop from Synnergy available at Hongdae Event until March 20th - where they make the MOST delicious Fish & Chips I've had since I left the UK - not including any time I go back to visit of course hehe. I know it's Junk Food, but it's something that makes the heart feel good, it's a taste of home for me, and it helps me feel less far away from my family... I am not entirely sure my Chubby Shark - from tardfish at The Guild ATLANTIS - friend likes his fish though, I'd have thought he'd enjoy the flavour when it's friend... A little difference in his diet perhaps?! LOL...
