Mythical Gargoyle or Dark Goddess?!

It's been a weird day today and not entirely in a good way... My mum has been taken into hospital and we are waiting now to see what is going on. I'm on the edge of my seat, and hiding from everything I should be doing today... Of course there is only one thing I could do while I wait and that is to slip into a world of my own fantasy, I used to say the more dead I looked the happier I was... I think now the more fantasy I go, the more scared I feel and am searching for a disconnect... Somewhere a little magical where the beings that can be found hiding in the dark are a lot less scary than real life things... 
Today I met the most gorgeous, ethereal being in a dark and gothic ruin... 

As I was exploring the Ivyfall Ruins - which happens to be one of the most gorgeous new backdrops from Synnergy.Tavis - I stopped to gaze into the pretty birdbath that was glowing in the moonlight... I was mesmirized by the way the flowers growing all over the walls and the way that they seemed to glitter in the moonlight streaming through the arches... 
It wasn't long until I could feel a presence in the room... In the shadows, a mystical gargoyle with a third eye and two mouths in her hands... She's marked as a nightmare - thanks to the amazing Nightmare Fades from Psycho Barbie, available until June 29th at Disturbed - and since it's her job watching over the ruins of this magical place, her third eye seems fixated on me...

Toxicity in the Engine Room

I am a few days late but the Engine Room has opened it's doors into the world of Second Life and there are lots of amazing things in the treasure trove to be discovered, as well as so many interesting new characters to meet... I cannot wait to meet them all, the rag-tag bunch of Steampunkish, colourful characters are bursting through the doors of this event and introducing us all to the magic of the Engine Room... 

The first of the crazy beings that we see through the doors of the Engine Room is the metalized Machina NOVA - named for the outfit she's wearing from Madame Noir, and the skin at the skin set from SOMEONE, both of which are available at Second Life Syndicate's Engine Room - with the toxic touch - thanks to the DeadBoy, also at Engine Room - who is the controller of the Time Spinner - by Static - that she wears proudly as her halo... 
This magical being can be found hiding out in the sewers - a backdrop from Dirty Rat by the way - of Second Life whilst the event is open, and she will be creating and providing the grid with lots of fresh toxic waste, brewed up in her Industrial Alembic - from MoonSha - for the best power to run the grid...

Trouble Under The Sea!

When I get a random idea for a blog post they tend to be the ones that make me smile the most. I will always admit that half the time when I start a picture I have NO idea where it will go or what the outcome will be but I have to say that these are the pictures that make me happiest. The entire reason that I blog is a chance to forget the world around me and find a little happiness, so the ones that make me laugh most are the best for me... 

Today was one of those days, and so while I was putting my ideas together I decided to go for a little swim and see where the ideas went... 
I was wearing a bathing suit - which is actually an amazing outfit from Psycho Barbie called Narkissa that ISN'T a bathing suit but looked perfect as a wetsuit, and I'm sorry to the Psycho Barbie team for misuse of their clothing lol - and splashing around in the water. I took a deeper dive down into the water and that was when the trouble went from barely there to TERRIBLE. I guess it may well be my own fault though as I have to stop myself reading so much of that monster smut LOL...

Tempestuous Tides for Mermonsters and Tentacled Beings

My mind is in turmoil, I am tired and distracted and keep doing things that cause myself harm... Nothing is super bad but I cut myself whilst making dinner tonight and I cried about it far too much... 
As is usual in times like this, when my brain is breaking I find myself disappearing into a prettier and happier part of my mind, somewhere a little more fantastical... The seas may be Tempestuous, but the rough seas should be the worst of my problems... 

The tempestuous nature of the seas are only exciting the tentacled beasts below the depths... They make Tentacle Hearts - like those from Krescendo - at the lovely merfolk that swim alongside them... 
This little mermonster knows that she's well protected by the tentacles from the deep, and her Alien Astral - which is actually the name of the head and skin from BeSpoke - aura will assist them in their hunt for pirates, and the protect her from the very pirates that want to steal her tears...

The Heat Loving Fire Fae!

It is SUPER fecking hot again here at the moment... I don't know what happened but my guess is that someone, somewhere left the frikking oven open so all of the heat can seep out and warm us all up LOL... SOMEONE CLOSE THE OVEN DOOR! 
There are certain things that seem to enjoy the heat though, the little fire fae are definitely living proof of that... 

These firey fae are a bit of a Revelation - which is actually a backdrop from FOXCITY - they are members of the Nopperabo - a head and skin set from BeSpoke - tribe, that are faceless and hide their emotions behind their Cupid's Malice - a mask that is also from BeSpoke, at Kawaii Secrets - each has it's own passion, and today's little friend just happens to be obsessed with all things HOT... Toxic Monsters

Are you one of those people that can flit through life without any care or concerns, trying to keep yourself smiling and without problems? Are you one of those people that seems to find yourself stuck in a rut, facing difficulties and wanting the world to stop? Do you live for drama and toxicity or are you happier when you can be left alone to enjoy some peace? I know that everyone is different and everyone has their own way of handling things, for me personally I'm an over-thinker, I have terrible anxiety and worry constantly about letting people down. It's a toxic, viscious cycle sometimes, and it's one that I'm trying hard to break free from... 

I am one of those people that over-thinks, over worries, and gets anxious about a lot of things, though perhaps unless you knew me really well you'd NEVER know that... I'm definitely not the only one with these feelings, they seem to becoming more and more predominant these days, but we all seem to have to our own ways of dealing with these emotions. I'm one of those people that aims to distract myself by reading or taking pictures in Second Life to make things become less focused on the bad, toxic feelings... Sometimes though my mood will guide my creativity... Today things are a little bit of a toxic monster...

Love on the Pastel Promenade

It's the month of hearts, romance and valentines... Pretty, sweet, romantic things that make the heart flutter and those that love love, sparkle... I felt a need to do something pretty and pink and romantic and sparkly, it's not my favourite of the holidays and so I'm doing my best, even though I'm very much the Anti-Valentine right now... It's time for some hearts, romance and sparkly things... 

I wanted to create my own personal little cupid... One that looks sweet and innocent, a cute little replacement for the diapered baby, with someone a little more sweet and devious... A pretty little feathered angel, that's pale skinned and glittering hearts and dripping in pink... It's the perfect outfit to take a walk down the Pastel Promenade in the city of Love...

Lumiere Obscura & the Cutie Candles

The Halloween magic has gone already and I'm feeling a little bereft, I didn't do much of ANY Halloweening this year, and I'm kinda sad about that... That doesn't mean the magic is totally gone though, there's always going to be some sparkly magic to lighten up the darkest of wintery nights... Sparkles can magic can be found everywhere, they are hiding out waiting to dance into the Christmas lights...

Soon the fae folk will make everything sparkle, but they haven't totally disappeared... I went in search of one today, I needed to see something a little magical, and it wasn't long until I spotted something flitting around the chandeliers of the Belle Ballroom - a backdrop by Synnergy.Tavis by the way - looking more closely it was somethings... Trick or Treating for Pennies

 HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! The day of the darkest magic has finaly arrived and there is so much fun to be had... I'll admit to you now that this October has been a whole lot less Halloweeny than years gone by, and even though it feels like I've done a lot less Halloweeny stuff this year I'm kinda happy to just be able to relax and enjoy the chill in the air... 

I spent a long time trying to work out what I wanted to be this year for Halloween... I finally got my Hop(e) on - which also happens to be the name of the backdrop from K&S - and realised that posing in the sewer there was one character I had to be... The sewer seemed far too full of trash, and even the tentacle monster that dwells in the dark wants to escape... 
What kinda Halloween spooky lives in the sewer you might ask? For those of you that appreciate a good horror movie, there's only one real answer... I'm dressing all cute and evil clowish, I'm going to get my IT on... 
One of my store obsessions, Mug, made the perfectly girlie version of Pennywise's outfit - appropriately called Penny, and available until November 10th at Kustom9 - and with the addition of a little make-up to look a little Scherzo - in a make-up that is a Hunt Gift from Fallen Gods Inc, at the soon to shut Trick or Treat Lane - and my clowning around was ready...

Magically Baking

Pride is a month of parties, Pride is a month of celebration for those that are different, a rememberence of a fight for equality that still has people hiding away, acting like something they are not and not living the life they want to enjoy. If anyone is needing someone now or in the future, sometimes a stranger can provide the best support, and I want people to know I'm here to be that person... 
On a happy note though, since Pride is about celebration I find myself wondering about cake... Rainbow cake for a rainbow party...

Dance of the Demons

I've been full of so much sweetness, cuteness and colourfulness that I think I've been hiding behind the rainbow happiness and keeping the deep, dark, monstrous side of me hidden way deep down within. I know that my monstrous side ususally comes out when I'm happiest, but right now she's ready to come out to unleash Hell on people that are crossing my path. I love my life, I love my job and I love the things going on but there are just way too many people and I'm totally exhausted... I want to kick some butt, and I think that the monster in me is feeling fiesty... 

Tonight I'm feeling more than a little dark and dangerous, it's going to be an Evil Night there will be blood as the demon in me comes back out to play for the first time in a long time... 
Her Ancient Wings - a gorgeous pair of wings that can be with and without feathers from Aii - springing from her back, her Mephisto Tail - from LVL9 at Engine Room - slithers around her legs, and the matching horns appearing through her hair... It is the wounds on her Scarred Body - from Cubic Cherry, also at Engine Room until April 20th - and her Mercurial Mantis Eve arms - from mercurial, at Engine Room too - that show just how much this angel has fallen. She may still have her feathers but those are the last remnants of her angel days...

Sharkfolk in the Wreckage

While I read it back to myself, I can't stop laughing about his silly it looks written down... BUT the sound only gives person the feeling of one thing. SHARKS ARE COMING... 

I've always loved being a mermaid, I can't get enough of playing as mermaids or fae in Second Life but I've always been something sparkly and pretty... I've also always wanted to swim in a shark cage, it's something that's on my bucket list although people will often laugh at the suggestion especially family considering my reaction to the Jaws ride at Universal Studioes hehe... 
There's a new resident at Mermaid's Cove, where the ships are wrecked, bedecked in treasures that she finds dropped from the sinking ships you might find yourself bumping into one of the Shark Folk - which is actually a set of a new release from FOREST FANTASY STORE that wil be available from February 7th until the 28th at the upcoming round of Abnormality - but be careful her bite is worse than her bark...

A Raptorous Escape

I'm having more of those days that leave me feeling knackered... I'd been looking forward to having Sunday and Monday off together, because two days in a row always seems to feel better than just one day between two working days, but unfortunately I don't think that will be a thing this coming weekend... Maybe one day I'll be free... 
Tallking of being free, there are so many times that I want to escape. I'm not sure where I'd run away to, but the idea of running away sounds like a good idea sometimes. If I was to run away would I go alone, or with friends? Whatever I do, I want to run away... 

I think that tonight on my adventure of escape took me to an island whose inhabitants are a little special, and older than any other beings on earth... They shouldn't be locked in cages, maybe the big bad boys that eat all the littler things, but it would be fun to set some of the little guys free. Maybe they'd even let me run free with them... The Monster Within

It's been another busy day at work... There has been a lot of nonsense from people that seem to think that they know better than me about a subject I deal with on a daily basis, and think they have the answers to questions I answer about a million times per day... It brings out the monster in me. I feel like Dr.Jekyll sometimes, feeling frustrated and as that boils up I have to duck into the office to release Mrs Hyde... I think I prefer the Mrs Hyde version of me sometimes... 

This outfit was something that I had played around with when the Engine Room was around but due to all of the scary looks I've been playing with, Mrs Hyde, who is similar to Frankenstein's Monster in her crazy steampunkish way.

Dancing at the Rave in the Graveyard!

It's the 8th of October, and that means Day 8 of the 30 days of Halloween... Today's look is something that one might argue is a LITTLE close to some of my everyday style, with perhaps a dash more blood... It's Saturday Night though, and that means that we're getting ready for a night on the town... The little Monster in me is all glammed up, ready to have a party at the Rave Yard in the city, and tonight she's taking a date with her... 

The date in question is one of my favourite people in SL, and he's been with me for almost my entire Second Life... Dean and I have been through so much, he's always been there and has been my rock as well as one of my best friends. We don't often get a chance to pose together, but today we made that chance and since he looked SO Fabulous in the new Salt & Pepper "Desire" outfit, we had to head to the local "RaveYard" club - items from Neverwish - where the music is loud and there's nothing to do but dance the night away! 
I HAD to match his level of Fabulousness... So for my 8th day of Halloween look I glammed myself up as Frankenstein's Bride, complete with oodles of blood and bolts through my neck - bolts from HAUNT at The Engine Room - and her hair styled in such a glamorous Franks style - from FUNKYSTENTCH at Anthem. Accesorised with some beautifully sparkly Marilyn gems - from MOoH! - and some of the coolest looking SHRED piercings - from Normandy at Trick or Treat Lane, that I've shared in a close-up below to show off just a little better - I was ALMOST as fabulous as Dean! Almost, but not quite!!

Making Friends on the Beach

Today I've been off work, off chores and taking it super easy... I'm being LAZYYYYYYYY... I want to just kick back and chill... I wanted to laze on a beach in the sand and read a good book, or build a sandcastle... Perhaps even more fun, since I enjoy doing them in the snow, I'll make the sand a little wet and build Sand Men!!! 

I'm Living Life - thanks to this adorable pose from -Extra- that should be part of a couple pose and I should be leaning on a human friend, but I don't have any of those lol - and the little goth girlie that I am, sometimes, can't resist wearing  HUGE hat to hide myself from the sun to sit on the beach and build the Sandmen - from Chez Moi at Tres Chic, 
It's such a cute beach, perfect for a little spooky girl like me... Midnight Order of Crows

I was on the bus ride home from work today and as we pulled up to a stop near our local park, I couldn't help but notice a large flock of birds in the trees. Most people were too engrossed in their phones to pay them any attention, but I noticed and gave them a little nod. It felt like the right thing to do, acknowledge them and show some respect as for some weird reason it felt a little like an omen. 
Of course, sometimes omens can be good or bad, but this was a flock of crows... Aren't they a sign of death?! 

The local park isn't a cemetery - like the backdrop from Focus Poses - but there are some very dark spots in and amongst the trees. The crows, that were flocking in the trees - from Jian in this case, although the one that dared to come sit with me is actually part of the pose set from Reve Obscura - seemed to be calling out to one of their own. 
Perhaps the Midnight Order has called in a member of the Covidae Royalty... The Dark Bird Queen has arrived to take care of her dark, mysterious little darlings... Killing Monsters with Tommy Guns

 Today has been a hugely, torturously hot day... The whole country has become an oven, and I like a lot of other people feel like I'm melting. 
I've decide though right now I'm going to slip myself off into a dream and let myself be cooler... If that's possible! Although, right now the dream, due to my surroundings, has become much more of a nightmare! 
I'm ready though, to shoot the monsters and rid my dreams of them... Maybe they will take the heat away with them lol... 

Wandering through the Dirty Hallway - a backdrop from Paleto - I was wandering looking through the keyholes of the closed doors, wondering where each would lead me. As I was about to do down the stairs, a poof of smoke, a flash of green light and suddenly giant tentacles rushing at me up the stairs... 
I rushed to a hidden place, needing a weapon to help myself, and as with all dreams all I needed to do was dream it, and a MURDER Commie Tommy Gun miraculously appeared - this will be appearing for you to get your hands on at the opening tomorrow round of Midnight Order!

Pride is at an End!

June is almost at a close, and that means that Pride month is almost coming to a close. Just a few more hours of Pride events to celebrate the fantastic month of awareness and love. a chance to celebrate diversity and differences of love and it's many happy lovelies... It's been a great month, so many beautifully fun events have been run. There's been parties and concerts and parades... The colours have shown, the support has shown, and Love is love and it's everywhere...  

Unfortunately, as the month comes to an end, Pride events must also end... That doesn't mean that everything Pride stands for has been closed and we no longer have to think of the things Pride stands for. The feelings of Love being Love, people being allowed to love whoever they love and be whomever they choose to be, shall remain and be virtues that are worth fighting for... 
I do have time for just one more set of rainbows and sparkles... A rainbow to show that Love is Love, a Doitsu No Kuma TeddyBear for cuddles and hair a rainbowlicious Hair gift from Mina, that is sharing a little love of a different kind. My hair is actually a gift hair that you can pick up at this year's Hair Fair. There will be more information on that in another post but it's raising money for Wigs for Kids and surely, while we're thinking of Love, giving a child a little support and happiness that they need is a very lovely and important task!

Steampunk Ghost Hunting

Lately all of my posts have been light and sweet, but the weather has changed and now I'm feeling like doing something a little dark and gloomy... Not that I'm unhappy, but when it's gloomy outside, it feels nice to do something warm and cosy and mysterious... 
I find myself getting swept away into a magical world, where magic can guide you to far off places, where the ghosts and monsters are the foes we seek to vanquish... 

In the Forgotten Library - a backdrop from Minimal - while the snow is beginning to settle outside, the ghost hunter took a check on her hand-held device, and took a look at all of the information on her desk as she prepared for her hunt - the Haunting Items Collection is available until April 20th at The Engine Room.
