What Can I Getcha?

I should stop taking the time to work on blog pictures when I am hungry, at least that's what I try and tell myself but I'm not sure how well that will ever work. I tend to start working on something bloggish before I've even had my breakfast in the morning and then I get distracted, PLUS I love collecting food in SL. I guess it's one of my guilty pleasure collections, and I own up to my collecting addiction... If I ever get bored in SL, maybe I should open a diner... 

You'd be welcomed in with a smile and a "Welcome to Rudhie's Retro Yums Diner"... The menu would be filled with some super delicious delights. I am partial to a burger, whether that is a Chicken Burger - like the one from Junk Food which is central in the picture - or a Hamburger - on the right from Lucas Lameth, the 1950s Diner Burger - or even perhaps a hugely stacked Club Sandwich - also from Lucas Lameth - with a side of fries or chips, crisps if you are like me and a little bit British... I'd serve cold sodas and thick shakes, hot coffee and fancy teas in tea pots... I might even serve cake, it's have to be cake because I'm a cake rather than pie kinda girl...

A Feast for the Festive Days

Well Ladies and Gents, that's it... We've made it to the most festive few days of the year... Christmas is upon us and people will be celebrating either tomorrow or Thursday, depending on where you are and what your traditions have always been... I'm going to be working tomorrow, and I get to work my butt off on Thursday to make a Christmas dinner for my hubby and monster-in-law, but it won't be long and before we know it, it will have passed us by once more... Enjoy it while we can... 

I spent a long time trying to work out what I wanted to do as my last post for the festive season and I'll be honest, there was a lot of things I really found it hard to do. I wasn't going to do something uber festive, I don't feel special enough at the moment but there is always one thing that will make me happy... FOOD... I'm a collector of the stuff when it comes to Second Life, and I love sitting around sharing foods with friends and family while we chat and spend time together... 
So I'm setting out a picky snacky feast, full of cheese, and other Christmassy nibbles... I've thrown together a few little decorations and there will be champagne to enjoy...

Skellington's Christmas Sciences!

Well we've made it to December, the festive season is officially starting and it's all beginning to look a lot like Christmas... I am not feeling very festive at all, and there is a lot more things for me to be worried about and on edge over at the moment, I'll be fine and will hopefully find the Christmas spirit somewhere... 
At the moment I feel a little like Jack Skellington when he was trying to discover Christmas for himself... 

I guess I was thinking about that when my mind was putting together my picture idea today... 
Jack Skellington's home came to mind, the day after he was starting his scientific search for Christmas secrets. I wanted to create something like my dark little mind trying to find the sparkle of Christmas, the magic that comes with all of the decor and treats and fun of Christmas... There was a little elf getting in the way, and my dark little minions decided to lock him away, but there could be a breakthrough...

Stand Out in a Crowd

Tomorrow I'll be doing something a little different from normal... Rather than going to work in the city, I'll be meeting up with my mother and her friend who are stopping in on a fancy-schmancy cruise... I'm so looking forward to it. I just hope that I can find her in the crowd, I need a way to stand out in the crowd.. I've never been good at standing out in a crowd... 
At this time of year there are SO MANY fantastic costumes to be found in SL too, it's hard for the usually crazy costumed dresser like me to find a way to stand out... The other ghosties have turned to me for advice... 

It's laundry day in the ghostie glen... A day when the whiter than white sheet ghosts gather together to have a bath with some lovely laundry detergent. There have been discussions about how we're going to get more notice this year, and how we're going to stand out in the crowds of amazing Halloween gear... I had a wild idea, seeking out a LARGE cauldron that is full of the Firework Green Potion - which is actually an amazing Halloween Fireworks Cauldron, that is available from MadPea for the current round of Equal10 - and we were going to tie-dye our sheets!!!
I even managed to find a few accessories with a touch of neon, and some other Glitter Babe - a dress from Neverwish, which is TOTALLY gorgeous by the way - fabric to make a dress to wear under my sheet for added affect...

A Little Cross Stitch

I know everyone has their favouritest of hobbies... For me taking pictures and blogging my Second Life randomness is definitely one of them, but this year I've become an avid reader AND have been working hard on crocheting my new blanket that should be finished before long.... I'm not the world's best blogging photographer, or the world's fastest reasder, and my crocheting skills are minimal even though I can still make cute things, but for me having these past-times is a way to switch off and distract myself from the bleh of reality... 

This year I've been trying to improve my photography skills, and am happy with the job that I'm doing so far... 
I decided that I wanted to read more and therefore have less time looking at a screen, and I'm almost at my 45 book challenge on Good Reads... I think I'll definitely be passing that and testing to see what I will need to set my challenge at for next year...
I've also gotten heavily into crocheting... I've been doing it for years but this year I'm making a blanket and it's ALMOST ready... Maybe while I'm on a wool work kick I might start doing some cross stitch... If I do I promise it's "Not Your Granny's Cross Stitch" - like the set from Aardvark, that is currently available until September 13th at the FLF Birthday Bash - I'm going to look into patterns that are anything but dull...

A Raven's Rest for Feathered Familiars

The Midnight Order is a location that magically appears and disappears, a secret society that appears twice a year that brings together the mysterious folk in a community that share their secrets and their wares in a monumentous event full of wonder and even a little music... 

Visitors to the Midnight Order come from miles around, crossing the globe through their virtual time and space variations. Many languagues, cultures and histories brought together, all with alittle curiosity and magic and just a hint of the steampunk to blend everything together... 
I decided to visit the Raven's Rest - a beautiful backdrop from Quills & Curiosities - along with my sweet little magpie Feathered Familiars - also from Quills & Curiosities, but this release is an exclusive for the curren tround of Midnight Order - to find out if the information that I needed for the latest devious little scheme of mine could be found in one of their many books... I may have actually had a stroke of luck and found exactly what I needed within the pages of the Encyclopedia of Corrupted Thoughts - thank you Cabalpier - and should now be able to go ahead with my diabolical plan...

Happy Hammie Breakfast

My day off today. In fact it's my second day off as I was free yesterday but it was HellBone's Birthday so things were busier than an average day. Today I decided to look after myself and give myself a treat, breakfast is not something that I always bother with, and yes I KNOW that it's bad, but I'm always in a rush. Since I was off today I made something yum, delicious and not meant for sharing... 

I spent a little while prepping, cooking and trying not to pick at things before I actually sit down to eat. I made bacon and eggs, toast and croissants and even had some fresh strawberries washed and ready, everything laid out on the table for what looks like a bit of a Romantic Breakfast - a set released from Junk Food - I'll be enjoying it just for me... 
Least that was the plan, I turned around and washed my hands and when I turned back I caught sight of some adorable little intruders that have snuck in and become Happy Hammie Hamsters - a release from Aardvark, available until February 8th at ACCESS - full of breakfast, just like I should be...

Spawn of Dish Satan

When you have a day off, a break from a hectic working lifestyle, and a chance to relax at home, you think you'd finally have a chance to stop and relax and do things that make you happy... I found that instead of that, I've spent all day doing house work, cooking and then doing more cleaning to make sure the dishes were done, before I even had a chance to think about relaxing...

I LOVE cooking, but I hate doing the dishes. Life improved a little when we finally decided to cave in and bought a dishwasher, but it seems like they multiply faster than you can wash them... Brollies for Spring Showers

The weather has been beautiful in the Netherlands, we've had lots and lots of Spring Sunshine and it's been fairly mild, but it seems like right now that might be on the turn. There is a definite chill in the air tonight and it looks like it is about to start raining, so if you're heading out tonight remember to take an umbrella... 

I'd finally managed to find myself the perfect outfit to wear out for a casual trip to the movies tonight and as I was about to dash out the front door as I was running late like usual, the sky opened up and the rain started bucketing down... I wasn't willing to trade in my cute little leather jacket for something bigger and potentially drier, but luckily we keep a collection of rainbow brollies in our Umbrella Stand - from Junk Food - handy by the door... I don't wanna play Mouse Trap!

Sometimes it's as if a designer gets into my head...One of my favourite creators, a super awesome Pineapple man managed to get into my head and managed to create something that would be perfect for me... A little extra cheese in a life that's already super cheesy... 

This designer knows that my normal 9 - 5 job is in retail. I work in a cheese shop in the middle of Amsterdam for a company called Henri Willig. We sell all kinds of delicious gouda cheese, made from cow, goat and sheep milk, with all kinds of different flavourings, smokings and aging... It's a delicious place to work. 
Yet, when I put on the most amazing new release from Ananas - that you can get your hands on at a discount this weekend - it was like Diffthought had gotten into my head and made it just for me... The Mac part of this costume aside, I LOVE THE CHEESE!!! I wasn't prepared what happened next, while I was dancing around in my cheese, HellBone accidentally hit the shrink button on a gun borrowed from a crazy inventor and I shrank... Then I had to run for my life...

Flutters at the Flower Market

It's been such a hot few days here, and I worked my ass off all weekend, so today I've been able to finally able to take a break and relax a little bit. I really hope that things cool down here so that I don't have to work in heat like that again. 
Today has been fairly relaxing, I've done a few things around the house, taking my time with them while trying to stay cool, and even went to the market. I was so tempted to get some flowers, there are SO many beautiful flowers and they looked so happy... I know they'd wilt at home... 

One of my favourite things in my SL home has to be the little market area that I've set up... I wanted something pretty to decorate the space, and since I love flowers, the flower market seemed to fall together naturally... SO MANY FLOWERS, and a touch of magic... I'd done some shopping, I'd bought a paper and some bread and fruits but the colours of the flowers, and the flashing flickers of colours drew me in. The beautiful Fluttery Friends - a hunt item from Quills & Curiosities, available until August 31st at Enchantment - were enjoying the gorgeous flowers too... What a beautiful Flower Shop - a pose set from Fashiowl helped with this picture set up - and well once hooked, I was buying flowers LOL...

Packages to the Wrapping Station

As much as I love spending countless hours watching all sorts of different unboxing videos, I will also admit that I'm more than a little addicted to browsing through e-Bay and Etsy to find the perfect, random, pretty items as gifts for friends and family. I mean it's almost August and therefore I should be getting on with my Christmas shopping. I'm making something very special for a special someone that I need to send out super early!!!! 
I know it sounds silly, but I loveeeeeeeee the idea of having a wrapping station set up in my home.

I love giving gifts. Christmasses and Birthdays in my house see people getting very spoilt. I love to buy gifts for everyone, at Christmas I fill stockings for my family and love nothing more than watching them expose all of the surprises! 
Though one of my least favourite things is scrabbling around trying to wrap the gifts. I LOVE wrapping but would much rather have a table set up just for wrapping. If I had room and money I'd have a set up like this lol... Lots of wrappings, ribbons and labels - like the things from Second Spaces - I'd also have a special stash of packing 'peanuts' to make sure that I could make any Special Delivery - like the packaging from Krescendo.

Sharing Spring Smiles!

One of the best things about March, other than the fact it's my Birthday Month, is that its the beginning of Spring. Spring is such a wonderful season, the life and color that comes with it after the darkness of the winter. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the darkness, but there's just something about the flowers that spring up in Spring that you cannot help smiling at... 
My garden is over-flowing with flowers, so I've set up a pretty little stall in my market.. I'm not selling them, just giving them to people that would love a little colour in their life... Would you like one?

For some reason I dressed a little like a peasant girl, something akin to Belle in her provincial life before she moves into the palace... The dress is very much giving me Belle vibes, although I'm not sure that's what was in mind when the Gigliola Dress - from Belle Epoque... 
I cobbled this gorgeous Upcycled Market Stall - with a little help from Krescendo - and some magic from a garden gnome that just happened to be a Fairy Godmother... We've decided to spread a little magic and share some beautiful flowers in return for some beautiful flowers... Cosmik Bowling

Back on the whole randomness flowing from my brain type thought process today, but sometimes that can help me with some amazing, magical adventures - that may or may not be affected by the drugs that I've been on recently, making my already crazy brain go into overdrive! Today was no exception... I ended up playing a game of Cosmik Bowling... 

The best place for Cosmik Bowling is at the K&S Bowling Alley... It's the best place for the space bowling, the lanes are lit by the sparkling of the stars - in this case the Glowing Stars from Kraftwork, that are available at Anthem - while you're surrounded by the pretty planets... 
Since you're in space at this bowling alley, you need to wear the right equipment... A helmet is a must, but then you might need an adorable suit to wear, you never know why will be looking at you when you hit those pins... Some Lunchmeat perhaps? I don't mean the meat that you might put into sandwiches or turn into fritters, I mean the store that makes some amazing clothes and accessories, that has created this awesome Melon Bodysuit which accessorizes perfectly with goodies like the Normandy "Solo" Bracers...

Prepping Dinners for the Freezer

Recently I've fallen down the rabbit hole that is watching food-ish programmes on tv and youtube things... I don't know why but I find myself fascinated by things like Extreme Couponing - which is something that we don't ever do much here in the NL - and cooking shows, and I'm addicted to watching videos from Emmymade on Youtube!!!
I've been so inspired that I even thought about getting into the habit of cooking in bulk so that I'm struggling to think of what I want to eat less... Some parts of me think it would be a good idea, others I'm kinda bored by the idea... It's a connundrum for sure... 

I've been to the store and stocked up on delicious food, and now I'm going to head into the kitchen and I've gotten heaps of new Food Containers - from Junk Food - I've finally found a use for all the Tupperware that seems to be multiplying in my cupboards LOL... Actually I've already been prepping a few things, and I think my St. Bernard Puppy - from JIAN - is getting a little excited with all the foods being made...

Playing the Queen's Wicked Games

The glittery trash that was, has tried to rise from the ashes of her neon garbage can and has claimed the power that she rightly deserves... A dark, twisted queen with a penchant for playing games, to torture, amuse and control those who surround her. She struggled through adversity to get to where she is now, and she will not let the actions of others take that away from her... So anyone that crosses her path must be taught a lesson, those that she likes will be taught personally in the form of a torturous game... 

This plaything - thank you to my model Dean by the way - got escorted into her games room and tied to a chair for a few hours before the Queen was ready to play for a while. 
As the Queen finally enters the room, the new toy is moved unceremoniously from his chair, manhandled by her brutish body guards. Once the toy is shackled to her "Bored" Game Platform - from Violetility at FaMESHed X, the thugs leave and the room is filled with silence whilst the Queen picks her poison... "Chess, I think for today"... They play by her rules, as her victim is tied she's making their moves and the Queen will always win, the loser will always end up impalde on the pieces in one way or another...

Duckies on the Beach

 Yesterday was HOT!! So hot I thought that I was going to pass out due to the headache that the heat gave me, I was in agony... All I wanted to do was be somewhere cool, with a breeze and maybe some water to play in close by... I mean a beach would have been ideal, unfortunately I was stuck with a large fan and a shower LOL... 
Rudh on the other hand... She was down on a beach, kicking back and hanging out making sand castles with some new little friends... 

Building Sand Castles - like the one from dust bunny - while the Little Rubber Ducks - from Yokai - float around in their pool and play around on the warm sand. 
Lazing on her beach rug in a cute little romper and the most amazing pair of CULT "Cali" boot sandal shoe thingies... Aren't they cute, something totally different, I love them and they have so many colour options!

Do you wanna play a game?

I'm done with my week of having to go out to work, and now I can sit back, relax and enjoy myself for the weekend. I want to just chill out, watch some Fresh Prince re-runs and maybe spend some time to maybe take some pictures. 
First now it's time to relax, what should we do this evening? Anyone wanna play a game? 

Chess isn't usually my game of choice, but it could be fun to play this way... Just Keep Swimming

Following my epic dive bomb into the swimming pool yesterday, I'm truly enjoying being a mermaid that walks on land... Days like today when I get the chance to swim feel epic... Cool, clean - albeit chlorinated - water, and the chance to feel the softness of it brushing over my skin... It's like a healing process to a mermaid that walks on land! 

Now before I start talking about my outfit I have another confession to make about the pose I'm using... It's another pose, made with a prop and when used properly it's like someone diving off a diving board, but when posed underwater like this it is just perfect as a swimming pose. The pose I'm using is actually a new release from NANTRA called Flying Squirrel!
Now for her make-shift bikini! It's actually made up of two different things... The shorts from the Cynful Juliet's Lingerie set and the awesome MuggleBorn MyMermaid top! 
I love to swim... It makes me feel better, when I'm down where it's wetter, even if I'm not under the sea!!!
