Elegantly Lazy

I've been on holiday for almost two weeks now, and I'm still feeling totally tired. Maybe that's because, at least for this week, I've been lounging around at home not doing much of anything. Don't they say that idolness makes the sloth feeling worse?!
Still you know what, I've got two more days off, and then I'm on a 5 day stretch so I'm going to enjoy being a lazy butt while I can... 

I look like a terrible mess whilst I'm lazing around, pyjamas on, cuppa tea in hand and a book under my nose, but Rudh... She's a very different story, she never likes to do things in a way that aren't worth looking at. Even when she's being lazy, she's doing it in style...

Flappers Don't Speakeasy

I've been watching old episodes of a TV show that I used to enjoy watching with my Dad on a Sunday evening after dinner before bathtime.. A series of adapted Agatha Christie's of "Poirot", set in the interim between the wars taking place in the 1920s and 1930s... 
It's making me feel a bit nostalgic and definitely feeling a little better, and when I was putting together a picture today to blog, I randomly found myself heading back to the 1920s for a bit of a party... 

The 1920s were a period of rising spirits... The war was over and good times were to come again... It wasn't all sunshine and rainbows, there was a prohibition of the making and selling of alcohol. Parties took on a different tone, but that wasn't going to stop some people from having fun... The Flappers - for example - were showing the change in power of women, a sign of rebellion and the happiness of youth after the darkness of the war...

Sparking Up!

I don't normally partake in anything smoking related anymore, not since I finally forced myself to quit during the pandemic, but days like this and while I'm still feeling totally homesick, I find myself feeling drawn to rolling a joint and helping myself to relax... I'm feeling contemplative, trying to get on with things and mentally prepare myself for the stress of going back to work... 

I have this feeling of wanting to unburden myself, I could write paragraphs of nonsense about feelings and wanting to find ways to cheer myself up, but I think that it will send everyone to sleep.... We all have our issues, we all have our problems and we all have to deal with these things in our own way. I know I'll survive, it's really just a little homesickness. It's just taking me a little longer to get over than normal... 
For now though, I'm going to sneak onto the roof and light an emergency joint that I have tucked away.. Don't tell anyone will you?!

Tears of the Demons

At certain times in the day, week, month everyone, no matter if they are willing to admit it or not, will go through tonnes of little rituals. Some happen without realisation, others are purposeful, but no matter what they are, it seems like we need them to make it through our days... It's not only something that the humans do, all of the mythical creatures out there are doing the same... The fairies spread their glitters, the demons cast their spells and depending on their moods they will all laugh and cry through any situation... 

Today, I'm still feeling a little lost. I miss my family still and the homesickness is harder to beat this time than it can be sometimes... I'm living in a fantasy in my head, I've not gone back to work yet so the holiday bubble hasn't popped... I'll be OK, but I'm trying to get through this, and even the demon in me is crying... 
I'll follow the little Rituals that I use to get over this feeling - there's a Ritual open now in SL that may well help with that, since the event has some amazingly wonderful goodies up for grabs - it's time to find that smile again...

A Dance with the Jellies

Trying to lift my mood from that feeling of being down in the dumps and to do that I'm going to drop myself back into my blogging. I have lots of things to do and lots of things that I need to play with. I'm actually looking forward to finding all different kinds of weird and wonderful fantasy worlds to get lost in... 
Today I took a little dive under the sea... I was swimming around and found myself the perfect place to let off some steam. I mean it's definitely a cold place where the steam will be dealt with. Deep under the sea, where the jellyfish gather to dance... 

Below the surface of the seas, in the rocks and corals there is a secluded space where the Jellyfish dance... Whilst I was visiting I dug through my massive wardrobe and found the perfect costume to join the dance in the form of a beautiful Fay Dress in a pale sky colour - thanks to a gorgeous dress released by Kiru. There was, however, something missing... I needed something that would pack a punch, I didn't have a sting but I did know a little eel that lived close by. I decided to replace that poisonous sting, since I'd more than likely have stung myself, with a little Voltaic Aura - from Quills & Curiosities, at the current round of The Warehouse Sale - to give those around me a little shock...

Sadness and Anger in Homesickness

After what feels like the shortest trip to visit family in the UK ever, I am now back home in the Netherlands. Normally I'm relaxed and happy and have some brilliant fun stories to share, which OK I can agree that I have this time around too, but for some reason I'm actually feeling a little more lost and alone than usual. I've always been close with my family, and I'll admit too that I couldn't actually live with them, but I HATE being so far away... I cry, it makes me miss them being so far away, and I WISH I never had to leave... I get sad, angry and for a day or two when I'm home I get a little depressed...

I go through mood swings, sometimes I'm up thinking of all the happy things and the fun times I had with my family and others I'm right down getting sads, and angry, and even feeling like hiding from the world, hanging on the edge of depression... I'm sorry if I take it out on anyone around, I'll take some chocolate instead of happy pills to make myself feel better and hopefully, my mood will improve soon... I just get very homesick and need to give it a few days to feel better...

Sailing Away

Today's post is likely to be my last for a few days. I am on holiday as you may well know but tomorrow morning I am going to be hitting the road, and then the high seas, as I make a short trip across the English Channel for a week with my family. 

It's been 8 months since I was in the UK and I've missed being "British"... I love my life in the Netherlands but I will never truly feel Dutch... I miss the silly little things, the things that you don't even really notice when you live in a place. Things like going to the Supermarket and seeing all of your favourite yummies, the rolling hills that are lush and green, and the sounds of nature around my parents home... 
It should be a lovely week, a chance to relax, unwind and recharge my batteries, I really need this and to be totally frank, SL is likely to be the last thing on my mind... I will wish you a lovely week and say see ya next tuesday!

Fear the Reaper... Please?!

I'm still having  happy Goth Summer... I always tell people the darker and more depraved things look onmy blog, the happier I feel and now that I'm on holiday I cannot help but let the darkness out... 
Today I've been really good to a certain someone that I want to stay on the good side of... Death has decided to take himself off on a little holiday, and so because I owed him a favour after last year I was happy to step in and look after his little reapers...

Stalking the corridors of the Occurance - a backdrop from Varonis - is the fastest way to slip between locations of all of the people that are written in the Reapers little black book. All I have to do is cross off the names as the Lil'Reapers - from Tardfish - do their work, flitting backward and forward through the doors... Someone needs to be there to assisting ensuring that people fear the reapers...

A Feral Goth Summer

Oh my gosh I didnt think this day would EVER get here... Today is officially the first day of my holiday and I am SO HAPPY to be given the chance to sit back and relax... Finally it's time to switch off my mind, not think about anything besides a little relaxation and a lot of time to see my family. I miss them heaps and bunches, so it will be lovely to spend the week with them soon... 
Today though as a little treat, and a chane to start my vacation off right, I'm going to head on down to the beach and spend some of the day just lazing away in the shade with a cool drink and those beachy vibes...

A little goth girl on the beach today, the sun is shining and the light bouncing off the white sands and the glittering waves... This little goth girl will have to be careful that the sun doesn't affect her pale skin and give her a golden glow... Ladies and Gentle Bugs

I've slipped into a bit of a hole recently, I'm finding it difficult to focus on anything as I'm getting to the point of needing something different in life. I'm getting bored, I'm overly tired and want to get away somewhere different, so I can see new things and feel more relaxed than I currently do. In fact, I'm eager to get myself away, and the reason being is that I am almost at the point of going back to the UK... I NEED to go home and see my family, be amongst English things and do nothing more than read a book... 
My mind needs to be able to drift off to a magical world... Like the fairies that live in my head and my SecondLife... 

You should know by now the love I have for all things fae. I've always believed that I would be a mermaid if I could be a fanatasy being, but I'm beginning to think that I could also be a fairy. 
Today I'm getting into a new set of wings, that comes with a perfect pattern of spotted markings... I'm going to be dancing in a fairy glade, the one that is known as the Sunken Temple - a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - and down amongst the daisies and dandelions, is where the Lady Bugs dance... Chaos Galaxy Stars adding Heat to the Fire

It's BLOODY hot here in the Netherlands again today...We've had almost all of the seasons in a week, Wednesday there was the BIGGEST Summer storm, it was trecherous to head out of the front door. Then not three days later, we're stuck in a heatwave that feels like someone turned on the oven and left the door open... It's like being stuck in a fire... The demons of Hell must have worked some magic and are giving us a taste of their home life... 

Inside one of the deepest, darkest Demonic Volcanoes - an older but awesome backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - the demons have gathered around one of the most glamorous and more senior demonesses... The reason being that in her hand is one of the most important items in all of the fantasy realms... The chaotic red Galaxy Star - a release from Spells & Charms To Go for the current round of RITUAL that runs until the 12th of the month - one of the six chaos stars that can release extreme amounts of damage in the wrong hands... The red is responsible for this terrible heat, and the more it turns the hotter it gets.

Fresh Food at the Marina

It's dinner time in my house, and as I've been off today I've managed to spend some time cooking. I prepped and fried and baked and served, I made the most delicious Shoarma, a favourite of the Avengers and my hubby! 
There are so many things I could make, I'm kind glad I made Shoarma, but in all honesty I really fancy seafood. Not sushi that my hubby is addicted to, or a Paella or Jambalaya, but proper chunky seafood, MAYBE a Seafood Broil perhaps?! 

I think that a Seafood Broil will be a delicious idea, especially if that broil could be eaten somewhere fantastic, somewhere fancy and somewhere with a gentle breeze and even better view. So many people are now jetting off on fancy holidays, I think that I want to go to!! I'm going to jet off to a Spanish island somewhere, and I'm going to grab my book and head on down to the Marina - which is a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - for a spot of dinner... A Club Full of Smiles

Today has been one of the crazies days at work for me since the covid days... The Netherlands, especially in the North of Holland, was hit by a MASSIVE storm this morning. Rain was coming down horizontally, the wind was blowing a gale so much so that I was almost blown off my feet, and trees were hitting the ground left, right and centre... It was almost scary, and would have been if by the time I got to work I wasn't more concerned about the fact I faced an 8 hour day of being wet and cold, and to top it all off I KNEW we'd have no customers due to the crappy weather conditions... 
By the time I got home this evening, I KNEW I needed a smile... 

In one of the deepest, lesser known parts of the city, there is a cute little bar that's known for making people smile. it's a smily bar for smilers... Today it's the place that I needs to get to right now, as I NEED a smile... I'm going to dress for the club and try to find the smile that I need. I think it's already working, this outfit makes me smile and I LOVE the colour combination!!!

Sunnies Behaving Badly!

A Happy Sunny, Sunday, the first of July... WHAT THE HECK, HOW CAN IT ALREADY BE JULY?! This month will be brilliant, I have to get some more training to be able to run the store on my own for the whole of August, and at the end of the month HellBone and I will be taking a short vacation to go home and see my family in the UK - it's a break that is very much needed... 
I will always be the first to admit that I HATE Summer. It's the season I could live without, since I really dislike the heat. I will admit however that I love the brilliantly bright colours of Summer, the sunshine on the flowers and the fact that Ice Lollies are a must in this heat... 

One of my favourite things come out of summer... Sunflowers are summer flowers and they match the season very well with their bright colour and smily sunshiney faces, and so of course I can never miss the opportunity to visit a Sunflower Farm... 
As with a lot of places in my world, there are fairies on this farm... These fairies are best friends with all of the Sunnys the Happy Flowers- the Sunny Happy Flowers that are both with and without the sungless are from Aardvark for this weekend's sales events - that live in the fields and are supposed to put on a good example for the new little sunflowers that are brought in by hand - from Junk Food - to join the family...
