My Own Roaring 1920s!

Sometimes I do a little random. Sometimes I do things that get lost of the realms of high fantasy. Sometimes I do things that are a litte more grounded in realism, although those things my be based on stories of their own too... No matter what I do it's always done with love and happiness and it makes me smile to do whatever I feel like... Today I went with a story from someone else's mind, and an event theme that was a little outside my usual ball park... 

Normally I feel more like I should avoid anything Art Deco, but when the Anthem line-up was announced to be Great Gatesby themed ca me intrigued. I more often than not vere towards designs that are more Art Nouveau, than Art Deco - they are easy to tell apart Art Nouveau looks like it's been made by the elves, Art Deco is more harsh lines and bold prints and looks more like it's been made by the dwarves - but this was interesting, and even though I'm not really a Great Gatesby fan, I kinda liked what I did!!!

A Lady Detective in the 1920s

I got very excited by a new release from a store that I'm not normally a client of. Sometimes you see something in an event and can't wait to get yout hands on it, and that's one of the things that I love about the SL shopping events. There are lots of stores brought together that you may not regularly use, but an item is released and everything changes... It was like that today with the amazing new release from Salt & Pepper at Equal10... A look that takes us back in time, to when glamour was jazzy coated with glitz...

The glitz and glamour of the 1920s, the era of the Great Gatesby, was one of highs and lows... Prohibition and mobsters, jazz and swing, it's an era that oozes decadence, especially when you see it represented in the media... Now, I know Salt Perry - owner of Salt & Pepper - has based her latest creation on the great Gatesby, but my current addiction is a tv crime series set in 1920's Australia called "Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries"... She's a lady detective in a time when men were still considered the stronger sex, and with her companion and household staff, she is out to right the wrongs and discover the truth... It's a BRILLIANT series, with some strong female characters, a little bit of steam between Miss Fisher and the detective, and lots of action too... Armed with her little gold pistol, and closing her cases with a Whiskey on the Rocks - like the ones from the Whiskey Tray set from Junk Food - this divalicious detective leaves Jessica Fletcher in the dust...

A last walk in the falling leaves...

I cannot quite believe it, but today is the last day of November... Where the heck has the year gone, and tomorrow is the start of the festive season. I'm trying hard to keep my head in the game, as all I want to do is cry that I won't be able to see my family before the big event at the end of the month, but right now I have to start getting myself into something festive... 

Until tomorrow though, I'm going to enjoy a last walk through the Autumn's falling leaves - thanks to the Cole's Corner Autumn Breeze - at the Flower of Scotland... I even made a new friend on my walk, that brought me the most gorgeous bunch of roses - such an adorable Dalmatian Puppy from Jian...

Wonderland isn't so Mad, except the Hatter... She's INSANE!

The weather outside today is VERY cold and we actually have thick snow for the first time in a few years in the Netherlands, and I'll admit - that just like when it gets too hot - I'm not a fan of now. I get so worried that I will slip, in fact I usually have a habit of doing just that and never end up landing on my soft smushy butt! 
So I'm avoiding the cold and staying inside where it's warm - a great way to keep people locked down why didn't they think of this sooner lol - and I'm going to let my imagination slip off into a dark and twisted fantasy world, a place that looks so pretty yet hides a darker and much more twisted secret... After all, everyone know the story of Alice in Wonderland, but how many have experienced the Adventures in Mad Wonderland... 

Since the story of Wonderland was first written by Lewis Carroll, there have been many different variations on the characters contained within his world, and each and every one has it's own twist on the madness... Sometimes I have trouble deciding which I'd prefer to be - yes I think about it sometimes in the dark late nights - but it seems that today I landed myself into a very Hatterish themed frame of mind... The outfit just falling together as it was natural, and I admit that I'm a little darker than the scene I'm in but that's the twisted beauty of Wonderland... It can be a world full of hidden surprises hehe... 
My outfit today was actually - believe it or not - inspired by the amazing new Gacha collection from Misschevious, that will be available from ROMP on February 10th, which is a set of body wounds and tattoos based on Wonderland Madness... I chose to wear this soft, subtle set of Star Bites, and then the Rare Hatter scars, which of course is why I had to bring the Mad Hatter to life in my own Rudhish way... Of course she needed a hat - so I made life difficult by wearing the old Magician hair from Wasabi when it used to be Wasabi Pills LOL, and added some crazy almost Jokerish items like these amazing ROKINS Glasses - available for 60L as a part of Happy Weekend Sales.

The Roaring (20)20s!

I love the fact that people are getting into the spirit of the Roaring Twenties again... The last time the Twenties were a thing it was a time of economic prosperity, a time of change and positivity following the devastation of the war years. Now we're back into the Twenties, albeit 100 years further on, and how times have changed. I'm really hoping that the prosperity of this period becomes apparent with the title of the decade! Let the good times roll, the Roaring (20)20s have begun!!

I have always loved the vintage 1920's that gorgeous Art Deco style with it's sleek designs and bold colour combinations. The Jazz Music, the fashions and the stories that come from this time period are always stylish and fun, and I cannot get enough of the artworks with their bold colours and strong prints! 
So I decided that in the spirit of the Roaring Twenties I'd do something a little Flapper styled perhaps?! A flapper for the modern Twenties, a Roaring (20)20s flapper! The idea came about because of a pose set created by NANTRA - for the current round of The Liaison Collaborative - which seemed to tie in seamlessly with a new gacha collection from LEMME called "Crazy 20's". Both the flapperesque poses and the gacha collection - which include the amazing Back to 20's backdrops - were crying out to be the life and soul of a party! All it took was a few little extras and the right outfit, and Rush was ready to party, (20)20s style!

Getting Christmas Crafty!

Back to work... Like a good little worker bee! Busy making pretty gifts for anyone buying cheeses for Christmas!
So inspired was I that when I got home I decided to dig through my arts and crafts stuff... it's time to get Christmas Crafty!

Cute little tree - from Ariskea - will be help with making some pine wreaths, a bag of coal so I have a gift for my Daddy at the ready - thanks to Dust Bunny - but cookies ready for my Mommas too - thanks to Ayla at The Arcade - and some Arts and Crafts supplies from Star Sugar... OH AND I cannot forget a delicious cup of cocoa with a Kit Kut for when I need to take a break, since I have to follow the rule stated on my brand new Petite Mort Winter Chill Out set. 
The new set from Petite Mort is actually a gacha release for the Imaginarium, and it comes in a range of different colours and patterns, so as usual it's great to mix and match! For the record, there are sneakers available in the gacha too but for some reason I had to wear some snuggly Maizey Shearling Boots from Reign instead... WARM TOES, MMMM!!

Time for Tree Shopping!

It feels so lovely right about now in RL... I am just waking up and sitting in my parents living room watching the birds feed from the rosehips that are still waiting for them in the garden. Though you know me, I cannot just step away from my blog for too long, it's like an addiction that needs to be supported!
Im having a lovely time with my family though, we're even doing some very early christmassy type things since I wont be here in RL with them over the holidays. This is inspiring me just a little bit, I will be getting a little more Christmassy from now on... It's time for picking out my Christmas tree, I think...

I'm back at my favourite Winter space right now, Moochie, where the tree market is open and selling their gorgeous trees. It was warm and wooly in my sweater, but it was definitely nice to get a cup of coffee to keep my hands warm and toasty in all that snow!

A Sprinkling of Salt

OK SO, I don't want to rant but I can feel myself building one up and I guess it's better to let it out in a productive way rather than let it sit so I mull over it and end up in an even bigger mess than when I started!
Today's rant is about me, it's not aimed at anyone and shouldn't be taken as anything other than me just venting steam but it's something that seems to rear it's ugly head on occasion and it makes me into a very grumpy, somewhat depressed - I guess you could say Salty?! - kind of girl... 

I guess what it all comes down to is the fact that I see so many people on Flickr getting hundreds of likes for their pictures and I find myself questioning, doubting, wondering what I'm doing wrong and if there is something I should be doing differently. I know that it's bad to do that, I know I shouldn't be comparing myself to anyone else but sometimes it's hard not to. There are so many people taking amazing pictures out there with such variety of styles, but I bring myself down to a point where I'm about to give up sometimes. It's all because I'm not getting the number of likes I'd want on Flickr... Silly huh?! It's a massive numbers game, a popularity contest and sometimes when I'm really low it feels like I'm losing, but that's not really the point of what I do here is it?!
For me my blog is all about relaxation and therapy - of sorts - I sit here and take pictures, write and feel like the weight is lifted off my shoulders. I know I may not be the best blogger or photographer out there, but I do what I love and if other people enjoy it then that's great! I have to keep telling myself that like a mantra, I have to stop caring about the fact that other people's pictures always seem more "popular" than my pictures and to be honest, I have to stop worrying about what other people are getting and focus on taking the pictures that I know will make myself happy... 
I'm gonna just sprinkle some salt on it... I'm done being salty and complaining and feeling like I'm not good enough... I'm gonna do me, and good luck to everyone else...

Deadly Elf is NOT for the Shelf!

Somethings up with Jack, Somethings up with Jack... The Pumpkin King has GONE again!! Missing from Halloween Town in the midst of preparations for the next Halloween Holiday... But where can he be?! 
There's a rumour circulating around the holiday lands that this year the Christmas elves are not going to risk Halloween taking over the next Christmas again, and are stepping in to stop that from happening! There's even a rumour of a special elf which has no joy on his mind, only keeping Jack from breaking Christmas! They keep him locked away where it's dark and cold, where there's no "making Christmas"!

I was lucky enough to be able to find Jack and the evil Christmas elf, deeply hidden in the darkest corner of the North Pole. This is way beyond the naughty list, this is where the torturous magic happens! Unfortunately for the elves, they've made a bit of a bad mistake! It's not the real Jack, it's Rudh in her Nightmare before Christmas costume!! Maybe they know that though, maybe it's more of a warning to Jack?! Wonder if the elf realised yet that she kinda likes the choking?! 
One thing for sure though, this Elf won't be on a Shelf once Santa realises that he's torturing the wrong Skellington!!

A Place in the Naughty Room!

Santa is coming in just a few days now, and there's a lot of busy goings-on at the North Pole right now... The elves have been trying to get Santa to take some time out to relax a bit before his big day. 
They've sent Santa to the naughty list room... Making sure he checks it twice, while some of the naughty list occupants are set to work entertaining him - this year Rudh is one of them, she's so high up the naughty list she's given a special task to make up for it! Just don't tell Mrs. Clause! 

Santa's naughty room has goodies for all the naughty girls - and boys - out there... Things have moved on since his coal days. 
This room was actually a room that I created for the Gators MC Christmas Build off Contest, but I loved the naughtiness of it so much that it had to become a background for a post too... Monitoring the last use of the Dinosaur!

I am SO EXCITED!!! Though also a little sad too! 
Today will be the end of an era for me... This is the last picture ever taken with my dinosaur of a PC and soon - hopefully tomorrow - I will be able to start sharing NEW things with the help of my super 'Monster' Computer! I have so much good stuff to share I cannot wait to get playing around with it... BUT here is one last outfit for the Dinosaurs Graphics...

Sparkly Fairy Wands

Christmas is the season of pretty, fairytale magic it seem... Everything sparkles and looks so festive. It will never be as awesome as the Halloween season for me, but I still cant help loving Christmas. I love all things sparkly, magical and fairytaleish but I'm going to share something now that seems kinda silly... I am scared of fireworks... I think it's the explosion, but I actively avoid them because of this, yet there is a specific firework I do love and it's the Sparkler!! See, I wasn't crazy when I was rambling about sparkles LOL, I had a point to make...

Hot Drinks for Cold Hands in Sweater Weather

The Gators MC is hosting a photo contest again this month and I want to make sure I share with you the details of the even, I also want to share my pretty picture for it too, but that's just me trying to drum up support I guess! 
The theme is Autumn - or Fall depending on which side of the Atlantic you're on - and so it's all about getting cosy, russet colours and that feeling of Winter coming... For me, it was time for a mug of hot apple cider... 

When I thought of Autumn themed, I was instantly thinking of a place called Moochie - a pretty place with lots to explore that changes with the season, or at least it seems to anyway! Right now it's all Autumnal and there's even HOT APPLE CIDER!!!! It's the perfect place for Sweater Weather!

Feeding the last of her Thirst at Trick or Treat Lane

I have some good news to share with everyone today... If you haven't had a chance to get to Trick or Treat Lane yet, the good news for you is that although today is meant to be the last day, they have decided to extend the opening over the weekend until Sunday! That's two whole extra days of shopping!!
That having been said, the official closing date is today and Rudh is about to enjoy the last of her tasty morsels from Trick or Treat Lane... There's just enough to keep her excited about next year, by then her hunger will be much greater, she's hungry still... 

She's just enjoyed the last of the Trick or Treaters, but that doesnt mean she cant still enjoy a little trip down Trick or Treat Lane.
Having to leave her gorgeous new Witchy Lair - a building released for ToTL from Rivendale - she is Thirsty... The little vampire in her calling out for something stronger than Halloween Candy. Marks of her vampiric status adorning her body, the Chompy Choker, the copy of Winifred's Necklace around her neck and even that painful looking cross carved over her eye - thanks to a make up layer called Satina from VileCult. 
Just a few more days of the awesome Trick or Treat Lane, don't forget to wander the streets and grab what you want before you lose the chance and it disappears till next Halloween!!!

Frankenstein's Daughter chooses her New Man

I'm on a monstrous streak... Zombie Cheerleaders, Deadly clown dolls and today...Frankenstein's Daughter!
She's been promised a special gift by her father for Halloween, a treat that she feels she's been missing... Her dear old Dad is going to make her a man!! 
First things first though, Dad has told her to go pick out the skull that will hold her new beau's brain... Checking his cheek bones and his eyebrow ridge, she can close her eyes and see his handsome face in her mind...

Feisty and covered in Tentacles

I spent the last few days letting someone's pathetic drama make me feel depressed and lost. I wonder why people feel the need to try to target you just to make themselves look and feel better. Words get twisted and used against you... It kinda makes you want to stop talking to anyone, but then I guess that's their intention. 
Normally I'd have slipped into a slump and wanted to hide from everything for a while, but I made a comment about it on Facebook and the reaction from people that I know - or in some cases barely know - have been so supportive, I'm not gonna let that happen... I'm going to ignore the pettiness and carry on with my daily life knowing that they are going to meet Karma one day!! 
For some reason the fiestiness is festering something weird and creepy in me pictorially lol... 

One again though, what started off with something small ended up meaning that the entire picture went in a randomly weird direction. I'm not complaining but it's always fun to see where I end up with things... 
This time I started out with the awesome Occult Mask - from Zombie Suicide - which is available at The Black Fair until October 19th - adding more tentacles from Zombie Suicide in the form of this awesome necklace, some extra tentacles from Nightmare and even a friendly octopus from {aii}... Yet hanging out with octopi is always a bit of a danger, you never know where those suckers are gonna stick, as my marks will show, I just hope I don't swallow one of the ones in my mask LOL...

Cold on the Beach

Doing a little extra work in my SL job today, but I was looking through my blogging plans and wondering what it was that I would share today. I found a picture of an outfit that I was wearing this weekend, it has a story and a bit of a silly. 
It's ABSOLUTELY freezing in Holland at the moment, I'm down with the sickness suffering with the terrible flu that's going around. Luckily it's manifested as a cold, and I seem to be getting through it, but Friday was HellBone's birthday and I was suffering really badly with it. He had a Bikini/Mankini party planned, and so even though I felt like death I put on a bikini and a brave but snotty face!

After the party was over though I couldn't resist dragging myself to a freezing cold beach - Baja Sands isn't usually this cold looking - but I think adding the poor sick me to it, especially since I covered the Blueberry Mood swimsuit in a Wrapped Wool Scarf - from Vinyl, and then added an extra scarf - that comes with the January Hairstyle from Wasabi Pills! 
As with my face in RL, I'm showing more signs of my sickness than just a need for wearing a scarf with my bikini, take a close look at my poor face, all red and sore and snotty looking - thanks to Izzie's Sick Face - it's like looking in a RL mirror for me, one that makes me more dolly like but still red and gross LOL...

Autumn Evenings

Flickr has now changed it's rules, I'm sure you may well have heard... No more than 30 groups for a non-Premium account to stop spam! Every day it seems like there is less and less reason to want to share my pictures that way, and I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking that way. I'm still having trouble in getting my safety levels altered - although I've done everything I can to have my safety level changed... Yet they come out with new rulings like this... Can't they fix what's broken first?! 
Still, I have things to share, and Flickr is the main platform for that still, so a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do... 

I fell in love with an outfit that I bought recently and went exploring to find somewhere pretty to take some pictures of myself wearing it... It's not something I'd usually wear, it's a little bit too girlie for my usual taste but when I tried it on at Collabor88 this month I NEEDED this outfit...
It's the Mock Turtle Neck Top and Pleated Skirt from Tres Blah at Collabor88 - available at the event until December 6th. I love black and white stripes - although the top comes in a range of colours not just stripy - but what surprised me most is that I chose to buy a red skirt. I don't normally buy red because of my hair colour, but it looks SO CUTE!!!
Now to juggle and see which groups I want to post it in...

Roller Disco Baby!

I've been covering the night shift at work now for some time, a couple of days a week... It's not a lot but it's enough to make me feel like a zombie the next day - which OK shouldn't be any different than normal for me but it feels much much worse when it's RL lol - although I learnt this week that it will come to an end and next week life goes back to normal. 
This means Rudh thinks that she can go out and party again... WOOT WOOT party time... Well that is until I fall asleep at the keyboard LOL... For now I'll let her enjoy herself just a little, at the Totally 80's club and roller disco!!! 

Posing like she was "Born to Roll" - thanks to a pose set released by NANTRA at the just past round of The Liaison Collaborative, and yes there is a new round I KNOW I'm a bit late with this one - but I still couldn't resist the pose and they will appear in the mainstore soon I'm sure! 
Now it sounds weird to admit but I put this outfit together because of this dark but gorgeous shade of lipstick that is part of the MM Full Lip Collection from Zombie Suicide - one of 9 different colour options for FULL sexy lips!!!
Once I had the lipstick though I needed to find things to wear with it that worked LOL... Starting from a lipstick is a crazy way of doing it but anyway... I remembered this amazeballs dress from Razor, that I picked up at the Day of the Dead event recently, and it seemed to work perfectly together with a Hazel wig from Wasabi Pills - which was a past FLF special colour release - and some pastel sunglasses from Suicidal Unborn... 
I was ready to roll around that Disco and strut my funky stuff!!!
