So it's been a little quiet around the Gators MC today, which in so many ways is GREAT. I love having the family around but sometimes, it's nice to just have a little time to myself to hide away and do things that make me feel good about myself. It started with some picture taking, then some gentle inventory sorting and finally PJ time and playing games on my phone, which thanks to some rather wandering hands may or may not have become something else LOL...

A couple of days ago I posted a rambling about the Australian Bushfires Wildlife Benefit which is set to take place over the Australia Day weekend. Plans were being set in motion for a grand event called "Surviving Hell - Australian Bushfire Wildlife Benefit" in which Kay Weston - of Image Essentials - and Ally Dwyer Applewhyte - of Something New - were getting the ball rolling seeking support for the fundraiser!
Well, today is the BIG day... The HUGE event that is Surviving Hell - Australian Bushfire Wildlife Benefit will start today, and it's going to be amazing! Congrats to Kay and Ally for organizing something that should - I say should to be optimistic, WILL is more likely - raise funds and awareness in support for the RSPCA to provide care to so many of the injured animals that were caught in the Australian Bushfires...

I love the fact that people are getting into the spirit of the Roaring Twenties again... The last time the Twenties were a thing it was a time of economic prosperity, a time of change and positivity following the devastation of the war years. Now we're back into the Twenties, albeit 100 years further on, and how times have changed. I'm really hoping that the prosperity of this period becomes apparent with the title of the decade! Let the good times roll, the Roaring (20)20s have begun!!
I have always loved the vintage 1920's that gorgeous Art Deco style with it's sleek designs and bold colour combinations. The Jazz Music, the fashions and the stories that come from this time period are always stylish and fun, and I cannot get enough of the artworks with their bold colours and strong prints!
So I decided that in the spirit of the Roaring Twenties I'd do something a little Flapper styled perhaps?! A flapper for the modern Twenties, a Roaring (20)20s flapper! The idea came about because of a pose set created by NANTRA - for the current round of The Liaison Collaborative - which seemed to tie in seamlessly with a new gacha collection from LEMME called "Crazy 20's". Both the flapperesque poses and the gacha collection - which include the amazing Back to 20's backdrops - were crying out to be the life and soul of a party! I have always been a bit of a collector - when I was younger I'd collect key rings, or erasers. I went through a phase of collecting Minnie Mouse stuff, and now days I have some weird and wonderfully odd collections. Yet recently in SL I've found myself amassing quiet a large number of pigs?! Daddy's girl is a little piggy - that's a fetish right?! - but when I was organizing all of my goodies, there seemed to be quiet a lot...
That's not all of them in the photo by the way, those are just the tip of the iceberg, and what's even weirder is that in RL I'm not actually a fan of pigs all that much?! I mean they are cute, and very intelligent beings, but they just wouldn't get me crazy collecting them!!
Ther are just so many piggies, I don't really know where to start!! Part of the collection is actually a release from Inner Demons - the Piggy Chair, the jar and one of the cushions all form parts of the Everything Piggies Gacha Collection, and I guess when I saw everything piggies I kinda went with it, rolling on the rest LOL... I went to town decorating my babygirl dream bedroom with piggies!

I don't normally discuss much RL world events in my rambling space, mostly because I like to keep things light hearted and happy, but the situation in Australia has had me gripped for weeks now. The fires that keep on burning - although luckily it seems that the rains are starting to fall and life is beginning to spring back into some areas - causing so much destruction is heartbreaking.
I feel for the people that are being caught up in the affected areas, but the heartbreaking feeling is definitely coming more from the chaos, devastation and loss of the wildlife, in a country that was always so protective of it's indigenous species! It's been estimated that a billion animals have lost their lives - although the exact figure is not known - and Koalas have even entered the danger list for animals that may go extinct! I'm devastated!! I've always wanted to see - and hug - a koala... We need to do anything we can to help stop this from happening!
So when I heard that a team of Aussies - lead in part by the amazing Kay Weston of Image Essentials - in SL are putting together a fundraiser, I felt compelled to help spread the word!
Currently designers are being sought that would be willing to join the fundraiser! Designers can participate in a number of ways ranging from donation kiosks in stores to donating items for a raffle and even setting up an event booth with items for sale to raise funds for the cause! All donations made during this event will given to the RSPCA - https://bushfires.rspca.org.au/ - to continue to respond to emergencies and help them assist animals and communities in need.
The events will take place over the Australia Day weekend, when there will be music festivities, shopping and lots of donations - I hope - made to save some animals that are very much in need!!!

Today I have been shunned by both my fur babies!!! I had to take them to the vets for their annual check-up, and my cat more than my dog, went through something that I am assuming she feels was a form of torture considering the way she's now avoiding me!
The best thing about fur babies though is that if you treat them right, they will NEVER be mad at you for long! All it takes is the right kind of noise, a gentle stroke and then throwing a toy in a playful way, and we're back on speaking terms... That is until she happens to lose her toy and makes out it's my fault...
Anyone with a cat - possibly a dog, or even a child too - will have found themselves in this predicament more than once I'd imagine... I seem to spend a large amount of time fishing toy mice out from under the couch where my darling little assbutt kitty likes to hide them from me!
Now aside from the ramble this photo came about with the help of a Yoga Day pose - from Secret Poses - believe it or not... Think of it differently, imagine there's a yoga mat and there's a LOT less clutter and you can see the yoga pose now, right?! I was testing out the poses from the set and it instantly made me laugh as it's something I seem to do even when I'm not doing Yoga - this pose I mean - and it's mostly to fish kitty toys out from under the sofa... This post started - and still in many ways - with a happy positive vibe. A feeling of the beginnings of Spring, the prettiness of colour coming to life and the blooming of flowers! It's one of my favourite times of the year - after Autumn of course!
What started out as a gorgeous yellow- gold "Rosalie" top from Decoy - which is available now at Collabor88 for anyone that wants to know - became a cacophony of colour that started my happy Spring feelings... They are there, and will be there a while, just as soon as I get over these feelings...

At the beginning of the year a lot of people will often make changes in their life that they have been holding back on... For some that means the start of a rigorous exercise regime or a new diet, others will take on a new career or welcome a new pet into the family and for some, the perhaps unlucky few, they will find that the relationships they've been stuck in are suddenly over...
In this case, Rudh found herself abandoned at the local train station, her few belongings that she wanted to take with her in cases by her feet. The last night of rough housing scarred forever into her thigh, and the look of a rough night on her face...
The most important of her possessions are in her handbag - a "Don't Watch My Bag" from Tentacio - that she's having to carry in her right hand since any brushing against the Mystic Thigh Carving - from Fika - on her left leg sends a sharp pain through her body. The holiday magic is over now, tomorrow I am heading back to work and having to face reality again... Back to being cheesy and dealing with people, part of me says that I really wanna go back but the other half of me says it's time to start getting on with things again.
It's also a new year and so I feel like creating a new profile picture for myself, something that clings onto the magic...
I think I may have been able to do that, maybe just a little bit... The sparkles and the stars and the pretty rainbow neon!
A few sparkles and my favourite colour Yellow - I LOVE yellow, it's such a happy colour even though I usually dress myself in black! The warm yellow sweater from Decoy is soooo cosy, and it matched the colours of the star ornaments perfectly!
Such a pretty little flash of magic I think!!

The start of the new year has begun and it's getting off to an interesting start! There's things happening that are out of my control and it has me on edge but looking forward to where things go!

January 3rd and it feels like the year is slowly starting to come alive! I love this time of year now I'm older and can spend the festivities in my jammies, yet I think back to the time when I was younger and spent so much time at parties over the New Year festivities...
You could always tell how good it was by the level of your bruises and hangover... This year it looks like it's been a pretty good party though, I mean just look at the bloody nose and the eye bruises that Rudh is sporting!
The party looks like it was a wild one... In the Cresent Room - from FOXCITY - she's trying to hide the mess before her parents come home. The mess in the room is terrible, there's lots of food all over the place and there's a lot of bottles have been left around... She's got a massive darkness to her eyes and her nose is bloody - thanks to a wound from Zombie Suicide... What a pretty shiner!!

It's the start of the NEW 'Roaring Twenties'. The 1920's are often regarded as a time of prosperity, growth and economic success, and I find myself wondering will the 2020's be considered the same in years to come. There are so many changes taking place in the world right now, it makes me feel pensive yet hopeful - the same weird twisted concoction of anxiety that seems to bubble away within me - and I can't wait to see what this year brings both in and out of SL! Let's hope for no nasty shocks and plenty of peace?! OH ALSO, a little more time to sleep would be lovely, please and thank you!
I'm back from the few days that I spent in the forest in RL today. We go every year to escape the crazy fireworks that seem to take over the Netherlands around the New Year period. It's the best time to just mentally switch off. I spent 4 days reading books and walking in nature and I feel so much more rested because of it. Like I had a brain reset... It's just left me feeling a little sleepy, without the need for any chill pills - pills just like these from Luc Boutique.
Snuggling down in this comfy cosy "Clem" robe from miss.chelsea, and some comfy old slippers from REIGN. I have a few days over the weekend and then it's back to work as normal on Monday... Time for more sleep!
