Wishing you a Very Merry Christmas

 It's Christmas Eve... December 24th, and that means in a short while Santa will be at our door - we don't have a chimney so we'd have to leave him a key under the plant pot outside - I'm tracking him on the Norad Santa Tracker like I do every year... For now though, I'm showered, full of delicious dinner and curled up on a blanket with a cup of tea in my hand... 
Now it's time to phone though to the family, since I'm going to be without them... I hope I can keep it together and not shed a tear or two... 

Although we have a lot of gifts around the tree, most of those are from me for HellBone, but I'm hoping that Santa will bring something special for me... 
I know I've been pretty naughty on and off this year, but I hope tha leaving some delicious milk and cookies for Santa, and some fresh carrots for the hard-working reindeer - thanks to a set from Junk Food, maybe they will help me get into his good books... 
Anyway, for now, I will be curling up to wait for the big man in red, and I want to send a message to everyone no matter who you are, or how you are celebrating, I hope that you have the perfect Christmas this year...

A Test Run for a Christmas Dinner

T'was the night before Christmas Eve, and I've finally finished work for the year. There is still lots to do... Have wrapping, and cleaning, and food preparation. I might even take an evening to do a test run, I always panic making Christmas Dinner, there are just so many things that can go wrong... 
I cooked up a storm... Roasting, baking, boiling and mashing... I had to make sure that everything will be perfect on Saturday... 

Look at all this delicious food, I am so ready for Christmas Day's Dinnertime feast... It's possibly one of the things I'm most looking forward to... All that Turkey, Stuffing, Potatoes and lashings of Gravy - thanks to what was a Thanksiving Dinner or Holiday Dinner from Junk Food - with a few of the typically English trimmings like Brussel Sprouts and Pigs in Blankets - from Stockholm & Lima - who also provided the Christmas Crackers... A terrible Christmas tradition with a silly toy, a paper crown and the worst joke known to man lol... There's even some Christmas Pudding for dessert!!

Happy Christmas from Rudhellowen

 As we get closer to the big day, I feel a little sentimental... I miss my family so much, and I guarentee that I am one of a million people feeling this way, and there are so many more out there with worse situations that I kinda feel bad for moping about it. I have to be a big girl, I'll see family very soon, and have to make the best of this bad situation... 
I finally managed to persuade HellBone that we should do something Christmassy together... We're not very couply, as a couple, and we're not very Christmassy, BUT as it's the done thing, we decided to let ourselves get a little Krampussy... 

Some of you may well recognize this setting... HellBone and I had created this room for the Dark Adventure that we created for Halloween in October. The Krampus was kind enough to let us move into his home just to get our Christmas groove on, and pose for a not very Christmassy couples picture. 
A way to send a message to our friends, family and many acquaintences in Second Life, a VERY Happy Holidays no matter what you are doing to celebrate. Things can and will get better, things can and will change and we will get past these feelings of doom...

Last Minute Gift Shopping

In 4 days we have Christmas Day... There are 4 days left, and most of the NL has now been shut down again as we're in Lockdown... I still have things to get for Christmas gifts, so I might have to break the rules and head out to the shops... Luckily, I can do a few things in SL and that means I only have to fight the online crowds...

Walking down the street, trying to avoid looking in the windows at Saks - thanks to a brilliant backdrop from Synnergy - I had to tell myself not to look too much or I'd end up buying things for HellBone to give me lol... 
It was a last minute shopping trip, but I still managed to get a Shopping Cart Full - from Junk Food - and luckily it now looks like I'm finished... I just have to get it wrapped! Anyone know where I can find an elf?

Sticky Situations for a Gingerbread Cookie

Lockdown is going on from today, once again things are closed down and life has slowed down.. Still I'm planning on making the most of the limited amount of work that I may or may not have to do, and I won't spend all my time on lock down complaining! Though, I might find a chance to get a little locked up! 
I have lots of things to do to get ready for Christmas... Decorating, Cooking and maybe even a little cleaning - though as little of that as possible lol - and while I'm at it try to find a little festive fun... 
I went back to the Gingerbread Village for a little festive feelings, and got caught up in a rather tricky situation!! 

This time in the Gingerbread Village, I decided to dress myself up in the "Dress Up Gingerbread" Jolly, pretty costume - from Ananas, still available at Tannenbaum until December 25th - and I spent a lovely morning helping to decorate the village square! I made some lovely new friends too, and when I was offered a cup of peppermint tea, I jumped at the chance... 
It was a bit of a stickier situation than I expected. I ended up caught up on a Gingerbread Cross - a very Christmassy Bondage Cross from Violetility at FaMESHed X - while a naughty looking gingerbread man wheeled in a Tree Toy Rack - from Krescendo - and a delicious candycane - which I've also rezzed and made BIGGER for decorative purposes but is actually an adorable Santa's Gag from Short Leash - to bite down on...

Making An 'Elfy Dinner

I just got home from work, and watched the Dutch Prime Ministers press conference and it's been decided that the Netherlands has gone back into a Hard Lockdown... Frustrating, since my place of work is thinking they may stay open, but I have to wait and see now... I don't mind having some extra time off LOL, but it does bug me that Christmas will be another lock down event this year! 

I changed out of my work clothing and went into the kitchen to start making dinner, but I was feeling like such a grinch that when I spotted some of those little elves sitting on my shelves, I decided to take somewhat Scrooge-ish actions... 
I convinced these Mischevious Elves - from Junk Food, available now at The Epiphany - that drinking lots of wine was a good idea... Really it was a good way to marinade Christmas Elf before you boil them up in a stew!

Do you wanna build a Snowman?

Do you wanna build a snowman? They say that it could be a White Christmas and ready to snow next week... I don't want it to snow, I don't like the snow as it always seems to be me that falls over and hurts myself., BUT I do love watching it as it is super pretty, and what kid - big or small - can resist the urge to build snowmen... 

I have a love for an adorable snowman, ever since I was younger and I saw the Snowman on the TV... It was like magic, and the song is something that I love to listen to every Christmas... 
So today, I'm gonna build a snowman and I'm gonna hope that they come to life... I'll even get myself a costume - like the Build a Snowman costume from Ananas at Equal10 - and then will wait in the valley of the Sleigh Bells - a backdrop from Synnergy, available this weekend for Manly Weekend - and waited in the falling snow to see who was the first to come to life... It wasn't long before the Delicada - a new particle aura from #LuluB! that has dots, hearts, stars and the very seasonal snowflakes. They are also not so clear in the picture so I've included the Ad for a better look - magic began to swirl...

A Trip to the North Pole

Counting down the days till work is done and the Christmas holiday can begin... I'm still no feeling very festive, I can't really get into the mood... What am I going to do? Wha can I do to make things more Christmassy in my head?! I've tried all the things... Eating the goodies, singing the songs, and watching the movies... There's nothing that seems to be working properly... 
Maybe... Just maybe, a  trip to a certain snowy village and a meeting with a man in red, might be a good idea?

I headed on over to The Main Event, where the Snow Daze are getting a little festive... I decided that this was the best place for the meeting I was planning with the big man in red... I even got myself all dressed up to bend in with his workers, yes it was a little deceptive, but do you know how hard it is to get a meeting with the real Santa Clause at this time of year... 
I wore the awesome Falalalala Set - from 1313 Mockingbird Lane at The Arcade - maybe it doesn't match with the other elves... It did however, get me into a meeting with the big man, and he helped me feel better about the Christmas feeling. I sat on his knee and he even let me leave with a special present... Time for a Coffee Break

A lovely, lazy Sunday... A restful day, in which I had planned to do some cleaning, but instead I ended up having a lazy day, I spent my day decorating my SL house and gardens for Christmas and playing with my clothes... I did make a very naughty stop in the day, I had a craving and needed to head on a little trip, I had a craving for one of those deliciously, fancy coffees with whipped cream...

I took a little time out to head on down to the Burrow Co. Coffeehouse, but instead of going inside I found the most adorable little coffee van at a campsite full of soft comfy cushions, and was able to order myself a super, over-the-top, deliciously Christmassy "Jolly Hot Cocoa" - from Hangry - one with masses of whipped cream...

Blending in at The Christmas Tree Farm

Saturday, the first Saturday that I've had off in a long time and I'm really excited to see that it would be a perfect time to get festive... I've been cleaning the house up a little, and beginning to dig out the Christmas decorations... Just one MAJORLY important thing I need to get... It's time for Christmas Tree Shopping... 
It's a lovely time to head to the Christmas Tree Farm...

I decided to dress myself up for the festive outing... Perhaps I'll go as  Christmas tree, OR maybe I can find an outfit that will let them think I'm one of their own, maybe a baby version of a little tree so that one day I can grow up to be as magestic as them... I'll wear that adorable little plant pals costume - from Ananas at The Arcade - I might even top it off with a Christmas Head Ornament hat - also from Ananas but available at Anthem as a free gift!! 
Now, it's time to take a trip to the North Pole for a "Beautiful Christmas Escape" where I hear they have some of the most beautiful Christmas trees, ready for the taking...

Magic will bring him to life...

I know that it's nearly Christmas, but right now I need to take a break from the festivities... I decided to make sure that I got myself a Christmas present that I wanted. This year, I'm thinking big, and have decided to take a little magic of the season into my own hands, since I doubt that Santa will be able to bring me what I want lol... This year I've decided to upgrade HellBone, I'm going for someone adorable...  

I think I'm going to test my magical theory out on my Sam Winchester doll... Bring him to life. That way if something goes wrong, he will be able to stop whatever demon I summon lol... 
Setting up carefully, Sam in the middle of Pentacle, in the middle of a demon trap, ya know just in case I get more of a Chucky than a Winchester. 
Pulling out the Haunted Tome - from Vae Victis, as a gift at SL Shop & Hop - and as I started to read the pages out loud, the papers ont he floor seem to come to life. The words and the pictures were glowing, dancing, flickering in the candlie light - due to these amazing Cursed Pages from Static at We <3 RP - unfortunately I chickend out before I could carry through with the spell... I think I'll just be happy with socks that Santa might bring...

A Little Peace On Earth

This time of year is all about Peace on Earth, and I feel like this year more than any for me that's a big thing I should be focussing on right now... Maybe not on Earth, that's a big ask in my mental state right now, BUT maybe it's time to think of a little Peace for Me! I'm in a war with my own emotions, missing my family, and I'm kinda wishing I could fast-forward to next year to see them... 
Time to spread a little Peace in my own Earth... 

Up in the stars, the Angels watch over the Earth, with the exception of the Rudhie Angel... Rudhie Angel is too busy with my personal well-being, selfish I know but it has to happen right now... 
The Angel in me is trying to get a little festive with it, enjoying my love of one of my favourite things at Christmas... Fairy Lights... Christmas At The Gingerbread Village

 I'm beginning to get into the Christmas Spirit... It's beginning to feel a lot more like Christmas, as we get closer and closer to the big day... Part of me is looking forward to it, the other part is trying to hide behind the festivites so that my sadness doesn't show. 
Today I decided to disappear into a fantasy world, I'll keep the happy festive Christmas feeling, and drift into a magical land... A land hidden deep in a magical forest, where the snow isn't really as cold, and the houses are made of some interesting building blocks... 

This magical place is a neighbourhood at the North Pole, the inhabitants are neighbours of Santa... The trees are made of cookies, chocolate and candy cane and the snow is sugar... Careful about poking your tongue out to taste snowflakes... The land is inhabited by the Gingerbread Peeps, they are a super cute, but very shy bunch, who love nothing more than decorating their Very Gingerbread Christmas Tree - by Simply Shelby - but my advice is to make sure you visit in disguise if you don't want to scare them away... The best disguise would be a Dress Up Gingerbread - from Ananas at Tannenbaum until December 25th - outfit, which has different designs so that you can blend into any situation, so long as you can resist having a nibble on your own outfit!!

Dear Santa, I can explain...

OK OK so when I did a few things that were a little naughty, and I spent time giving Santa a little gift so he'd empty his sack - lol yes, it was a terrible joke I am well aware of it - but I need to take a moment to step back and have another word with the big man in red... I'll start off as if I'm writing a letter it's easier that way... "Dear Santa, I can explain..."

While relaxing in the evening, looking out over the city landscape, I mulled over my options to get myself off the naughty list that didn't involve me getting further down the list in the first place... Do I beg? Promise I'd be extra good next year? Buy him something extra special?? "Dear Santa, I can explain..."
Dragging myself out of my mind, and back into my apartment, I look at my adorable tree - from Junk Food - pulling my soft fluffy rainbow robe - from miss chelsea - tighter around myself, and sipped my rainbow mocha - from ChicChica...
I let my mind drift to more important things, maybe I'd ask Santa to help with more important things... Maybe a little Pride at Home - such a brilliant raising awareness event in SL that if other people paid a little more heed to, the world might be a better, happier, brighter like my Christmas lights kinda place...

 It's been a very long time since I let myself get a little naughty and I have a funny feeling that right now, I have to get myself out of a tricky situation... I heard from a failry reliable source that should not be named, but apparently my name is visible on a certain fat man in red's naughty list... 
Now I know that it might get me deeper down the list but I know the way that might work... It might also make me Santa's Baby?!

I got the chance to speak with him, and he luckily he agreed there was a way I could get off the list... The Old Christmas Decorations!

Since it's so early in December, things are slowly starting to get a little festive, and I'm slowly getting myself into decorating... Today I pulled things out of storage and blew th dust off the boxes containing my decorations. Every year I always buy new things and still end up using the pretty old things I've had over the years... There are a lot of boxes, and phew getting them all out of storage is hard work... 

Grabbing myself a delicious, Sloppy Tomago Sando - from Cat-Noodle - that I'd had waiting in the fridge, I sat down with my kittens to get my grub on... I was about to take a bite of the delicious egg sammich, I noticed that one of my kittens - a cat from Jian - had discovered a bag of catnip stashed in with the decorations in boxes and was going coo-coo for coco puffs... I almost had my eggs poached by my other little friend!

December 1st... Let It Snow!

The first day of December and now it can finally begin to look a little bit like Christmas... I'm going to start letting myself get all into the Chrismas spirit. There will be snow everywhere, pretty decorations and plenty of delicious foods, I mean I could get those things in RL, but for some reason I want to fill my Second Life with them too... Maybe it's a good way to take my mind off the sad fact I can't see my family before the festivities... 

Standing at the station in SL with my suitcases seems to be something that was a wishful thought... I keep thinking back to wanting to be on my way home. I guess that the snow makes it all feel better in bringing my smile, that or the fact that while waiting at the station I found a cellphone that was decorated with Santa's face.... A message on the screen read "type your message to leave a Christmas Wish", I couldn't resist, you never know maybe it's a direct line to the fat man in red!!!

A last walk in the falling leaves...

I cannot quite believe it, but today is the last day of November... Where the heck has the year gone, and tomorrow is the start of the festive season. I'm trying hard to keep my head in the game, as all I want to do is cry that I won't be able to see my family before the big event at the end of the month, but right now I have to start getting myself into something festive... 

Until tomorrow though, I'm going to enjoy a last walk through the Autumn's falling leaves - thanks to the Cole's Corner Autumn Breeze - at the Flower of Scotland... I even made a new friend on my walk, that brought me the most gorgeous bunch of roses - such an adorable Dalmatian Puppy from Jian...

Gimme All The Ice Cream!

I just ate the biggest dinner, a HUGE dinner of jacket potatoes and chilli, and I'm feeling totally and utterly stuffed! Although in the back of my mind, there is always room for dessert, and for some reason, I really want some ice cream... LOTS and Lots of ice cream, with sprinkles and chocolate chip cookies... I wonder if I have any ice cream in the freezer?!

I found an ice cream, a HUGE tall ice cream - from kotte - and I couldn't resist eating more than what's on the cone hehe... I didn't actually get the ice cream tub back into the freezer, I may have filled the tub with extra cookies and sprinkles, and then might have stuffed my face into the tub and ate the leftovers... What can I say, I was a messy eater...

Lunchmeat Comes In Rainbow Colours

Honestly in the past few days things have been mental, I've finally gotten myself into some of the Black Friday sales and can honestly say that Dust Bunny has cleared out my SL coin purse... Yet that's not a reason to stop myself from digging into my huge hoard to find something pretty to play with. As I sat digging through all of my new purchases and and eating a sandwich, until I stumbled upon some new Lunchmeat... 

Did you know that Lunchmeat now comes in rainbow neon colours? 
In the creepy, dark places within Phaetons Passageway - in a dark part of Normandy - there is a hidden space, a dark little table - which is actually a Violetility 'Dark Academia Bar' table, available at The Warehouse Sale - upon which a tank that could only be used for some weird science experiments sits... Surrounded by barrels of toxic waste... 
The Neon Demons are using this toxic waste to create some of the most delicious cocktails in the War Bar... They dress the demons that work in the bar in Lunchmeat... No, no not the smushed up 'pork' in a can, I'm talkin about the brand new collaboration from the brilliant minds behind Normandy and the Beauty of Darkness... They are the people responsible for the amazing Hydrogen Suit and the matching boots - available until December 10th at The Grid...

Swimming with the Sushi Fish

There are new rules in Holland as things are beginning to get worse again, meaning there have to be stricter rules... I have such strong feeling that I want to get myself away from here and run somewhere that's totally free of this pandemic... I've decided to let myself drift into a fantasy world, one that's affected by my stomach and a strong desire for dinner... 
Sushi perhaps?! 

My dreams led me to the Mystical Isle, where I decided to try and swim to find some new mermaid friends... I guess that would be where my hunger kicked in, and where I decided that I was craving sushi. I ended up a little delicious and in my dreamlike state, I found myself feeling like a sushi - and I can really be a sushi by wearing the Ananas from the I am Sushi Set!

What's For Dinner? A Thanksgiving Tinner!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of my American friends... 
While I'm not celebraing the holiday myself, being a Brit in Europe... I can always appreciate a good holiday - any and every holiday is worthy of a little celebration at least - even one that I know the bearest minimum about. I mean OK yes, I know the basics of the history behind Thanksgiving but not much else... The history and the dinner, since that's all people seem to be sharing on Facebook... 

Now, while I am thinking of food, I have decided to save the HUGE turkey feast for Christmas, which is when it's more traditional for me as a Brit... 
I wanted to try something new, different and possibly a little random, and recently I'd been watching one of my favourite food bloggers - Emmymade - talk bout making a Christmas dinner. Then days later, the delicious SL dinner makers that are the minds behind Junk Food, released a Thanksgiving Tinner filled with all the delicious goodness of a thanksgiving dinner... Turkey, potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and even the pumpkin pie! Sounds disgusting doesn't it?! I had to try it, but first I had to get a little Foodie - thanks to the pose from FOXCITY - and take a few pictures to post on social media...

Hold On Let Me Overthink This...

 Everyone has different personality traits... It's one of the most amazing parts of what makes us humans, and it's something that I find totally fascinating for the most part - although there are some people I wish could be put into a rocket and sent to outer space sometimes - though when I take a long hard look at myself I know I hate to admit more than one or two of them... I love that I can be silly, I hide my insecurities behind humour and I am both loyal and caring, but my insecurities often outweigh the fun side of me in my own head... I never normally admit it out loud - and definitely not in print - but I have terrible anxiety, self-doubt and I overthink everything and anything... 

I overthink everything, so much... Any important decision will be thought about and re-thought about, and don't even get me to admit the amount of time I ponder things that are triggering my anxiety. I drive myself into a crazy mess, often one that ends up crying and exhausting myself... I do it about all kinds of things, allowing self-doubt to take over and anxiety to ramp up... 
So when I saw this top from Vinyl - at a past round of the Saturday Sale - with the slogan "Hold on let me overthink this", I knew that this top was perfect for me... I've neer seen a top with a more perfect slogan for me LOL... It came to something that I even spent a HUGELY long time overthinking this outfit... Was it good enough, did I look good or was it too weird... It took me a short while but I realised, I LIKE it and I don't care if people dont... I love this look of the day...

The World is heading for Apocalypse...

Maybe you've seen it in the news, or maybe you haven't, but there has been a lot of dramatic things happening in my neck of the world. The world seems to be going through some bad times, even without the ever present Covid in the background, yet here in the Netherlands we seem to be tipping into something that left uchecked could become a civil war... There have been riots in the major cities, protests against Covid rules that has turned to violence and frankly, things are getting a little scary... 

Who knows what the future will hold, but at the moment it feels ore than a little dodgy in the land I call home... It almost feels a little like civil war could be on the way, as people don't seem to be willing to follow the rules set in place by the Government. I understand that people are tired of these things, I know that I hate not being able to get home to family, but surely if we all take these things seriously then there is more chance that the virus will be eradicated... 
Let's hope it doesn't get to the bombs being dropped, but for now I'm going to hide at home as much as I can and just play with my amazing clothes in a safer place like SL... Never did I think I'd find SL to be the safe place...

An Evening in the City

 After a busy day at work, I have to say that heading home is always a great feeling... I have to say that closing the shop and heading out into the dark streets of Amsterdam can feel a little scary sometimes, but the lights and the sounds and all the people still milling around having a lovely evening can be a little exciting... 
Walking through the streets, it made me think of my latest look of the day and the fact that it would be perfect to wander through certain streets in the city I call home... 

It's definitely onf of those blog posts today that's about a Look of the Day more than anything that is a floght of my imagination...
