BBQ by the Pool

It's the Summer now, I'm desperate to let myself enjoy it. HellBone and I are close the point of being able to move back home and we're planning for it to happen on Thursday IF we can... There will still be things we need to collect, cleaning that we need to do, but once we're over in our actual home, then I can think about making the daunting trip home to see my mum for the last time... I HOPE I make it in time, I hope I can get through a goodbye and carry on living without her... I cannot talk about it right now though, as I'm about to start crying... Let's think about something different, food is always a good distraction? Right?  

Since it's Summer there is only one type of food I have a desire to eat... It comes in different variations but BBQ Food is just what Summer requires... 
Today I decided to set up the BBQ at the Poolside - which is an old but still amazing backdrop from FOXCITY - and got HellBone to get his Grilling hat on... He's the king of the BBQ in our house... I set up the amazing Moo Sprinkler - from Krescendo - so that I could enjoy it as I floated around in the pool while waiting for the Cookout Feast - from Junk Food - and a portion of HellBone's Famous BBQ Platter - a release that was discounted this weekend from the amazing Lucas Lameth... Now I'm drooling, luckily I can hide that in the pool LOL...

Shark Bites are Ouchies!

I NEED to do something silly and whimsical today or I am going to actually drive myself nuts... I had NO IDEA what I wanted to do, and in RL we have been so busy moving things around so that HellBone and I can move back home sometime next week that we're both getting frustrated and tired. It feels like we've not done much today but we did a LOT and tomorrow there will be a LOT more to come too... 
So right now I NEED something fun and silly before my head implodes! Dramatic I KNOW, but it is what it is now... So that's why this happened... 

I decided to take the dogs for a walk down at the beach by the Baywater Lighthouse - a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - and we had one of those magical moments where as soon as they hit the water, they transformed into adorable little Shark Pups - from Aardvark - SUPER Cute and super fun... I pulled on a hat so that I could join in the fun, and was told that this Chomper Shark Hat - from Junk Food in the weekend sales this week - would keep me safe... Apparently it was the wrong information... One of the shark pups was a little hungry, and decided to take a Shark Bite - which is the shark on my leg and part of the Beach Day Gacha Collection from Mug at Equal10 now - outta my leg... OUCH!

Clouds in Heaven

My mind is in weird and icky places at the moment, I'm dealing with a lot... I have my house work getting closer to being done and I NEED to get moved out of this place I'm temporarily living in. I also have things going on with my mum... I've mentioned it before but she's got cancer and it's getting worse, very very quickly... I'm preparing myself for the worst at this moment. Please don't hate me... Please forgive me for being sad and lost in my unhappy mind... I need to distract myself... 

My mind went into fantasy mode, but then even that went back to the way it has been... Thinking about the things that may happen soon with my mum... 
So when I ended up as and angel in the clouds, gathering together the spirited pets of our family past.. Gus mum's favourite cat, and Izzy our dog, came to be ready for when Mum decides that it's time to join them... I am so scared about that moment, but I am trying to remain positive... I want to do something pretty...

A Laundry Day Discovery!

I'm having one of those days, the kind of days when your brain is so messed up, and you've forgotten that you've already blogged something but then you remember it's OK, it's laundry day anyway... I have so much laundry since I have yet to unpack from my trip home... Some things still smell like the laundry detergent that my parents use... I guess though it's time that I suck it up and do some laundry...

I did a lot of laundry at home when I was helping my dad with things for him and mum, but there's always some stuff that I have to wash... 
When I was playing with my clothes in Second Life, I discovered that there was a lot laundry to get done there too... I tend to wear outfits so often and then I never see them again after a week's wearing of them LOL... Perhaps I should wash them before I put them away... So I grabbed all of my dirty wash and headed on down to the Bubble Bliss Laundromat - a backdrop from K&S - and started sorting my clothes into the machines... 
It was then that I made the crazy discovery... A friend of my Dad's, the pigeon named Walter - a release from YOKAI for the Animal Party that can be found until July 10th at Kustom9 - happened to sneak into my luggage and he was only just found... Luckily it was me and not my cat that found him...

Jelly and Underwater Bathtime!

Guess who made itn back home to the Netherlands?? That's right, me... Guess who doesn't really want to be here in the Netherlands?? If you guessed me, then well done you're also right! Honestly it's always hard to leave my parents and the family home that I grew up in but this time was the worst yet... I've been hinting about my mum being sick, and well, it is actually much worse than I thought. I'm not sure how long we will have left with her and honestly the news has broken me into a million little pieces and I'm warning you now I may not be my usual random, bubbly self for a while... Please forgive me... Please bear with me... Please don't give up on me if I'm sporadic or depressing...
Anyway, for now, it's Sunday Night, and as always that means it's bathnight... 

I decided that I needed to do something to cheer myself up and it was to take my bath somewhere fun... I discovered the Underwater Bathroom - a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - and while the water and bubbles were lovely. It was soothing and comforting and when I dared look up through the window, I came face to face with some adorable little Jellyfish Companions - which are a MishMish release for June's Kustom9 Event, that still runs until July 10th - who were dancing around in the bubbles... 
It didn't really help my mood, and although I wanted to enjoy their cute little hijinks, even though it did marginally help, the tears are yet to stop flowing... As I said, please bear with me... I will be OK soon... I think...

Celebrating a little more Pride@Home!

Pride month has been active for a few long weeks and I know that I've missed mostly all of it. I have some very good reasons and as much as I know that Pride is important, right now I don't have much of the normal brain capacity I work with... I Stand by those celebrating Pride, and all the things that it represents, but my ability to see colours in things has somewhat diminished this week! I had devastating news and I'm just trying to keep my head on straight for the entire family... 

Still, since it's drawing closer to the end of the month, and since there are so many reasons for so many to be living their best life right now, I NEED to think a few happy thoughts. I NEED a little colour while there is none here... I went to see the Take That Circus show, but I'm a very sad little clown right now... Perhaps I'm doing things wrong?! 
I popped into Pride@Home for a breather from my families RL chaos and decided it was time for an ice cream... I may have been decked out in rainbows, but that feels like such a mask and putting on a show right now... Maybe I am more like one of the circus clowns I saw than I realised?! 
Hope everyone that was celebrating had a wonderful Pride Month... I will be heading home soon and NEED some time to get my head on straighter! Bear with me, things could get a little more rocky over the next few months!

How Far Will I Float?

I've set my status on blogging sites, I've caught up on everything that I need to do, I am packed I think, and ready to go and I've done my last minute weekend shopping before I leave LOL... I guess it's time for me to go back home and face that music, which hopefully will sound like the Take That concert on the 27th, but may also be a lot more stressful since I'll be dealing with my parents and everything surrounding Mum's cancer issues too... 

I stuffed the cat in her travelling bag, the case is fully loaded and I'm ready to wander into the North Sea and pray I don't get smushed by a big ship crossing it's way down the narrow strip of water... I KNOW there are easier ways to travel but it's been SO HOT I'm taking the coolest option right now LOL... 
For now though I'll say, wish me luck and keep that wish going for the 10 days I'm gone please I think I'm gonna need it more than I ever have before! Don't miss me too much, I won't be posting but I will be lurking around on Social Media somewhat! I'll see you on July 1st for some Summer Sunshine!!!!

Bunny Washing Day

Today was my last day at work before my vacation starts tomorrow. Tomorrow I'm heading to see my family in England and it's definitely not going to be the easiest of visits home... I am worried about a lot of things, but for right now I'm just ready to slip away from reality... 
For right now, this is my last day at work and I'm going to work as well as I can...  

It's a day at the Bubble Blvd - which happens to be a backdrop from FOXCITY for the current round of Collabor88 until July 6th - and it's bunny washing day as the Cottontail Cruiser - cute little companions from everfaery at equal10 - Biker Gang was in town and needing a way to sparkle and cool down all at once...

A Raven Princess on a Ghostly Path

I dont wanna keep going on about how crap life is at the moment but it's a general feeling and I'm sorry that I feel that way... I am trying hard so many times to let myself get swept up in a fantasy, but there are things that always keep dragging me back down... 
I felt like I needed a chance to escape again and I want to be anywhere else, so I let myself slip off into the late evening and become a Raven Queen... 

This evening, as the sun is setting, our salvage princess has decided to take a walk along the Ghostly Path - a backdrop from K&S - but she's not alone. A Corvus Princess from the Salvage Station cannot be allowed to walk alone, she's had to take her avian friends with her... Hiding from the light under her Pipe Parasol, and even though it's ripped, it's still great for keeping the last light of the day away from her pale skin...

Solar Relics and Forbidden Rituals

Some day soon I'll be able to relax but today at work was horrible, I think that I need a miracle... I don't want to be at work, I don't want to be living at this farm right now, and I want to be about a million miles away from here.. Is that weird? Probably but I want to let myself get lost... I'm going to find a little monsterous magic...

Farmers Market for Lunch

It's been the last of my days off for the weekend, and I am ready to go back to work this week.. Just 4 more days until I can go back to England and right now that seems more important than ever as Mum has been in hospital and I'm worried about her... At this rate, the real reason for going now will be a whole lot less wonderful and a whole lot more scary other things... 
I wanted to try and have a day to relax as I waited for news, I decided that since I'm living on the farm I was going to get out and see the countryside... 

I stopped at the Meadow Market, a gorgeous little farmers market - which is a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - and stopped at the Mobile Bakery and grabbed myself some Junk Food in the form of a Deli Sandwich filled with cheese and pickles and salad! The jalapeno chips look like I should grab a bag of those too... OOOOH and they have a blind date with a book stand... I've always wanted to try those, though I worry if I get a book I've already read I'll be a little disappointed LOL...

Mythical Gargoyle or Dark Goddess?!

It's been a weird day today and not entirely in a good way... My mum has been taken into hospital and we are waiting now to see what is going on. I'm on the edge of my seat, and hiding from everything I should be doing today... Of course there is only one thing I could do while I wait and that is to slip into a world of my own fantasy, I used to say the more dead I looked the happier I was... I think now the more fantasy I go, the more scared I feel and am searching for a disconnect... Somewhere a little magical where the beings that can be found hiding in the dark are a lot less scary than real life things... 
Today I met the most gorgeous, ethereal being in a dark and gothic ruin... 

As I was exploring the Ivyfall Ruins - which happens to be one of the most gorgeous new backdrops from Synnergy.Tavis - I stopped to gaze into the pretty birdbath that was glowing in the moonlight... I was mesmirized by the way the flowers growing all over the walls and the way that they seemed to glitter in the moonlight streaming through the arches... 
It wasn't long until I could feel a presence in the room... In the shadows, a mystical gargoyle with a third eye and two mouths in her hands... She's marked as a nightmare - thanks to the amazing Nightmare Fades from Psycho Barbie, available until June 29th at Disturbed - and since it's her job watching over the ruins of this magical place, her third eye seems fixated on me...

Monarch Butterfly Dance

I've worked for the last 4 days in a row so that today the hubby and I could be at home to work on a few things that need to be done in the house before the windows are changed next week... I am feeling beyond tired, my body has aches in places that I didn't know could ache and my mind is mostly wondering when it can go back to sleep... I'm proud of what we got done today... 
I Needed to let my mind wander today, I needed to do something a little different from the every day normal in Real Life, I needed a slice of fantasy... 

I NEEDED some fun, I found something gorgeous I HAD to find a way to let my hair down so that I can relax after a long day of hard work. I couldn't let myself avoid the chance I discovered today...

Neon Planting at the Salvage Station!

I had the day off again today, and I won't for a few days in a row now so I've been busy doing a little blogging prep and I'm excited about what has been happening in the blogging world of Rudh today... It's been nice to just turn offmy brain and do something creative, considering the week I have coming LOL...

Is it all just a game?

I've been thinking about something since I had a conversation with a RL colleague about how Tim and I met in Second Life. She was curious and I explained to her about the Second Life world, what it's capable of and all of those wonderful things that can happen because of it... She was raving about the Sims, comparing the two and suggesting that she would be interested in coming to see what SL was like... She said she was looking for a new game, and I offered to help her out, but part of me was twitching about it being game... What are your thoughts?

I have thought long and hard about this topic for the past 20 ish years of being in Second Life. When I think of games I do think of things like board games or video games, I think of PC games like the Sims and world building games, but then do I still consider Second Life in the same way? 
For some it looks like a game... Creating a character, creating a world and living a life that is different from the real one, it's an escape and a chance to be someone you want to be... But is it a game, or is it more of a chat simulation programme? I've worked in Second Life in a Real Life job, I met my husband in Second Life and we've been married for 12 years now, and I met some people that I will keep with me always too... Does that make it a game or is it something different? Is it because I've been here so long now that I feel this way, is it still a game to the new inhabitants or is it really a place that's something different? 
What do you think?? I've been pondering this a lot today whilst going about my boring chores, I just want to know if I'm the only one that feels this way...

Be Proud and Love who you are!

It's June, and aside from the fact that Hair Fair is running to raise money for Wigs for Kids, it's Pride Month and therefore we have a lot more things to both celebrate and bring awareness to... Every year Pride is celebrated all over in Second Life, as well as in RL, and although it should be something we celebrate all day, every day, I dont see any harm in raising any extra awareness as often as we can... 

Pride is such an important thing. It's unfortunate that even these days, people face hatred and discrimination for the way they want to be and the people that they love, and seriously that is something that needs to stop. I admit that these days I am straight, happy and consider myself a straight ally, but I really believe that people should be allowed to love whoevery they want, and they should be allowed to live however they choose... So long as no one gets hurt, the world would be a much better place for it... 
Once again Pride@Home has opened its city streets and blasted the Second Life world with rainbow colours and patterns to match those of the LGBTQ+ community. There are sales events and music events, parties, contests, photography showcases and so much more, and they aren't the only ones running Pride events this month. 
It feels very much that the world needs a little more love right now... Love is Love, no matter what. Maybe if there was a little more love in the world, then it wold be a better place...

A Rest before the Salvage Station!

June 1st today, and there are lots of things going on in our little corner of the world that Second Life looks like a really fun and wonderful place to be... Pride at Home and the fun events surrounding Pride started today, leading in the events for the month... One of those events is totally different from the rainbows and sparkles of Pride, is the opening of Salvage Station... 
It's Electrifying... 

The Atomotel - a building kit from LORE for Second Life Syndicate's Salvage Station, opening today until June 30th - is like a neon mirage in the middle of the Grand Canyon desert... This perfect, little neon hotel is run by a little miss Frankie, who will welcome you to her hotel as you make your trip to the Salvage Station, so long as there is no funny business and she doesn't have to introduce you to her Stun Nail Bat - from Arts&Gear, also at Salvage Station - which will be more of a shock when she hits you with it than any normal bat...

Sunflowers in Summer!

How is it possible that it's already the last day of May, where the heck did the last 5 months go. Everything seems to be going at light speed this year and I'm scared to blink in case I miss it... 
June is looking like it should be a good month. I get to go see my family, so I'll be going to see my grandma and can support my mum through a session of chemo. Speaking of Mum, we're taking her to see Take That - if she's feeling up to it - and that will be a fab, fun time at the Circus... AND we are one step closer to being able to move back home... I CANNOT WAIT, but until then how 'bout we get the start of the Summer started... 

There are so many fun things to look forward to, besides the previously mentioned family visit, and chance to see my childhood first loves. I'm ONE step closer to being home and therefore away from this camping situation that I live in right now... 
There are lots of fun things to come around in Second Life at the moment... One of the most important that needs to be shared at the moment, aside from the fact that Sunflower fairies are out in full force to share the sunny love, is the fact that one of Second Life's most important and long standing events has finally opened for it's 20th anniversary edition.
 I remember when Hair Fair first started and it was full of so many weird and wonderful new hair styles, fledgling designers that we know and love today and the chance to raise some big bucks for a charity that is beyond deserving. Wigs for Kids has raised millions to help provide children with wigs when they have lost their hair due to sickness or other issues, and we in Second Life have been great at supporting their mission every year, for the past 20 years - lead by the wonderful Sasy Scarborough - to raise money to aid in that support... So on that note, I'm going to let the Sunflower Fairy fluff up her new Shy Wig - from monso in the Foils Region of Hair Fair, with a 30% donation to the cause - as she got great hair and the kids that benefit have just a teeny amount of extra help!

Roses on the Royal Grave

As always with me you can NEVER tell me which type of mood I'll be in when I start to plan out something for a blog post of the day. I love the fact that I can just open my wardrobe, see what is new to play with and then just see where an item that I picked out will take me... 
Today was a dark and sad and depressed kinda mood today and the result was something partially medieval princess, partially gothic funeral... 

After the death of the king, his undead princess bride was only able to briefly attend his burial before the people of the town started arriving to pay their respects with the rising of the sun... 
She's still bleeding through her pearls from the last bite he ever took, and she hides her face and hair under the trappings of a Solemn Bride - from Static - but just before the sun rises she takes one last rose and casts it into the open grave as the Gravediggers - which is actually the name of the backdrop from FOXCITY - start to bury him in the eternal darkness... 
On a side note, aside from the story I was creating in my head as I set out this blog post, I HAVE to make a little point of sharing this gorgeous Nightshade tube style dress with you... It's part of an outfit from Psycho Barbie, that is available at the main store, with a fluffy off the shoulder cardigan/jacket also being available!!! The patterns and colours are fab, perfect for hot goth girl summer!!!!

He was my Skater Boy!

I am so HOT today, it's been close to feeling like the sun has moved into the Netherlands and decided to roast a tone of things in the oven with the door open.... I really want to go back to when it was cooler... WHO THE HECK decided that it would be a good idea to have a VERY hot day in the Spring?! I mean this is AUGUST temperatures, what are they doing in May?? I cannot wait till the sun goes down... 

This evening, when the sun goes down, I'm going to find a place where I can cool down and then make sure that the boys know how hot it could get when we're hanging out at the Skatepark - from Synnergy.Tavis - just me and my Skater Boy... He's the cutest skater boy around, but he's such a Silly Shibe!!!

Allergies Be Gone!

Allergies are one of the weirdest ailments that we seem to suffer from... It's always made me wonder about the amazingness of humans when some people are allergic to somethings and others are not. I know that we're all different but then you add something like that to the mix it's just another amazing thing, in a world full of amazing... There are so many things people are allergic too, and that can change any time. I'm just glad some of the worst ones aren't things I suffer with... 

I have a colleague that had a lactose intolerance and because she worked in the cheese shop and tasted small amounts every day she seemed to cure herself, whilst a friend of mine at university ate pasta and noodles for every meal and ended up with a gluten intolerance lol... It's amazing how these things can be affected by the way we live our lives... 
I don't think I have an allergy to anything, but I am MAJORLY against the heat... It's been boiling here for the past few days and while I LOVE the early morning sun and the cooler evenings, the height of the heat in the middle of the day can just bite me... 
SO aside from the rambling I want to say to those that do suffer I'm sorry... A Little Dane-ish Basketball!

Well it's a HOT day today... How can it legally be allowed to go from 12degrees centigrade to 27degrees centigrade in less than a week... We're experiencing Summer temperatures in MAY and last week it was freaking cold here... WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON? 
Since work was so crap today I NEED to find a way to let off a little steam tonight... I've decided to do something wild and crazy, I'm taking my puppies out for a little fun?!

I don't know if the local basketball playing boys felt like it was good too... Mermaid of the Desert Oasis

I've had a day off today and therefore I've had a chance to let my mind wander off everywhere that's not the normal day-to-day humdrum, but as usually on a day off I let my mind wander and went to somewhere weird and fantastical... It was VERY much needed, and I made a brand new friend in a fairytale character... She's a mermaid, but lives in a world that could be connected to the Genie's magical cave in Agrabar...
We're going on another magical Arabian Night...

Tail Waggers in the Dog Park

One of the most beautiful things about Second Life is that you can be whoever or whatever you want to be... You can be as creative as your mind will let you and it frees us of any real life limitations. SOMETIMES that works in bad ways, as we have seen recently with all the drama surrounding one of the head honchos at Linden Labs and they happiness at his recent departure. More often than not though, it gives people the creative space - and so long as they aren't hurting anyone - I feel that this can be an amazing opportunity to be, do, and try new things that you'd NEVER have the chance to explore in reality... 
There have been so many interesting advancements in all my years in world... From prim to sculpties to mesh and beyond, animations improved, HUDs revolutionised everything and now there are creative people out there running experiences... There's something for everyone... 

Today I decided to take a trip to the park with the Spring Courtyard - from Synnergy.Tavis - and the Eupawria Dog Park - with items from the Krescendo collection available at Kinky until May 22nd - which is a collection of the cutest puppy things and the perfect place to play... 
This visit ties in with what I was talking about earlier though... Second Life is full of new innovations and every day we see brilliant creators coming up with things to make their entertainment space better... I am going to preface this with saying that I am not a girl with this particular kink, nor am I a Furry - although I have plenty of friends and family that are in both Second Life and Real Life too - but I do LOVE to play dress up and will always be a barbie doll with a big costume box...
An old friend of HellBone's has come out with something that can, will and should be a great new tool for people that have a love of pet play. At the moment there are systems for Puppy and Pony play, all running under the brand of Tail Waggers; a one woman show with a system similar to that of the plant pets and zooby babies that grow... The system will mean that a Puppy or Pony with the HUD needs feeding, exercise, attention and even medical care, and this in turn will create an interactive connection between pet and handler... 
Now as I said this isn't really my bag, but there are so many people out there that may be interested and I feel that this system has been so well thought out that I think people need to know about it... More information can be found in world... Are there any Puppy's or Pony's out there that would enjoy something like this?!
