The Terrors of an Unorganised Inventory!!!

Where do I begin with this post? Hmmm, let me start by saying that when I recently posted a lesson on how to ride a bike for Strawberry Singh's Meme challenge I did it purely and simply as a bit of a joke. I didn't think there was anything that I could teach someone which they would want to know, or not know already, but I did brush over the mention of other people trying to give you lessons on how to organise your inventory.
I wasn't going to go anywhere near those type lessons, but then I had a comment from a lovely lady - Miss Rayne Boleyn - who asked for my help. How can anyone ignore the request for help from a damsel in distress? It's gotten many a fairytale prince into a variety of different troubles, but yet people still help strangers in distress, and that Miss Rayne is what I am going to try to do for you!
So thinking about it, I don't really want to try to give a proper lesson as it were... There are some great lessons out there from the likes of  Harlow Heslop - amongst others - but instead I would just compile a few tips and tricks so to speak.
When it comes to organising your inventory I would have to say that it is a truly personal thing - I've seen the ways in which other people do their inventory and thought HUH?! However, no matter how you decide to organise your inventory, it will take time so I suggest you make a lovely cuppa tea and a biccie (a biscuit for any non-English people wondering if I have fallen off my rocker)...
So my tips would be as follows;
* It will ALWAYS help to have a second inventory window open - this whilst sorting your inventory proved to be a gift for me, it means you can move things around in your inventory without having to scroll up and down through the list of stuff you have stashed in there.
* I have folders within folders within folders. Take for example any of my folders - my underwear folder for instance - I have sub folders (i.e panties, socks, sets etc) and then each of these is further divided by style, and then by colour and there is also a separate folder for specific designer sets, meaning I can find things either by designer or style and in many cases colour too - this helps me a LOT!
* Some people make use of the outfit folder - for me personally I don't bother, most outfits I make are worn once for a few days and then buried deep in my wardrobe - but if you like to wear outfits and re-wear them later then this may be a useful tool for you!
* Don't be afraid to box things up - even if you cannot bring yourself to throw things away, putting things in boxes is a really easy way of "losing" items. For example, I used to work as a club hostess, I therefore had a HUGE amount of hosting type gestures that I used on a daily basis, when I quit working for the clubs I didn't want to throw away my hosting gestures as there may be a chance I go back to that one day so I boxed them up and labelled them well.
* I get anal about cleaning up things like LMs and Notecards - whenever I buy something I will always check to make sure I have the LM already stored away properly and then throw away any new LMs, unless of course I know that the place has moved.
I know it's not a comprehensive list- or a how to - but I hope that this has given some insight into the ways in which I would get into the right mindset for inventory sorting. It's a lengthy process, it will mean you need to empty your trash can I'm sure, and you will probably find some hidden gems too... You never know...
Just for people who are curious too I know I went a little overboard on editing of the first photo, so I include the unedited version too so that you can see what the props are in all their natural glory hehe...

Hello, is anyone there? Communications - A Meme

I've been in the process of writing this Meme for the past few days, however my body has decided to let me know it hates me by giving me that pain again - the same pain that saw me stuck in hospital in RL at the end of March. Yet I am not one to be stopped by the pain, I'm on some very strong drugs now and I plan on trying to get on with things as much as possible, be they RL or SL related - and this Meme will give me a gentle way to get back into the swing of things. I've only been gone a few days but it really feels like a lifetime where SL is concerned!
So Berry's Meme this week is all about communication... I've been feeling out of the loop which is weird considering I've only been out of the SL world for the last few days, but now that I am back in the saddle and able to log in I can finally catch up with everyone and everything that I've missed. Seriously, you are there are there all the time and nothing happens, and then when you step out of the SL World for just a few days things move so fast!!
Who did you speak to last in-world today? Trouble Paine was the first to actually catch me online since I got back, hope she won't be the only one to talk to me.
Who has taught you most about SL? Hmm that's a hard question, initially I would say my big sister Fledge, later I've picked up things from all different people I've met across SL!
Who do you turn to for help? Depends on the kind of help that Berry means, I would normally turn to my Fairy BobMother, or Fledge, or Alice, or even - and it has been known - some of the other Gators too!
Who is the most entertaining person on your friend list? I have so many people that I talk to for entertainment - this is a hard question - maybe my Fairy BobMother, though her name doesn't need to be shared, not gonna have someone stealing my personal wish granter LOL - or Alice, she makes me smile too... OH and the Gators - TROUBLE you will get me in some big trouble with Hell I'm sure!
Do you speak to your SL friends outside of SL? I used to more so than I did, I talk to Fledge and Nick almost everyday on gtalk, and before I moved to Holland to be with my man I used to visit Fledge fairly regularly in RL becoming the aunty to her son. I think only one or two other people have my phone number, and I talk to a couple in skype, but I don't use the social networks...
Are you part of a community or family inworld? Yes, in fact I wouldn't say that we are the typical family but yes... Hell and I have two adopted daughters - though that wasn't my choice they adopted us and now I am glad they did - I also have a fair few people I would call my brother and sisters - Zakora, Fledge, Imma, and Morgana being those few. Then I have my bestiepops Fairy BobMother, who though not technically family is kinda like family, and finally I have the Gators lol - my brothers and sisters in the biker community.
Are you usually around a lot of people or do you spend most of your time alone inworld? I used to spend the vast majority of my time alone. I don't mind being alone and playing with my clothes or my toys. Since the Gators have taken up residence in the swamp they do tend to appear randomly, and fill the space with laughter. Sometimes others come over to play too but a lot of the time, HellBone and I can be standing next to each other on our platform totally silent and working on our own things!

A Tea Party Picnic for HORROR HAUTE MAY!

What is more fun - a tea party, or a picnic? Purely and simply nothing, but when you combine the two then you have an epic level of awesomeness that would rocket off the charts. So when pretty, living dead girl Rudh saw the cute(ish) dollies that were available for Horror Haute this month, she knew that she had to have a little tea party to welcome them into her home!
She skipped out into the swamp near her house and found the perfect place amongst the graves to have a little picnic tea party...Throwing out her favourite old rug from KOSH - one she loved so much because it was covered in her favourite things - skulls! She began making tea in her special - and only reserved for posh occasions - tea set, the one with the tentacles from Schadenfreude. Dumping her new bag, made from her favourite old book on the rug, she pulled out the special new dollies from that rather interesting store - Del's Odd Shop, and began her little tea party - you can see why she loves these dolls! When I was a kid in my RL I wasn't keen on dolls because they all looked like babies, whenever I did play with dolls I had a troll baby (for the record it was the blue one like this! LOL).
The dolls are available for Horror Haute, as well as these awesome boots from ImmateriA and this adorable murder corset from The Little Bat, I also have a necklace on, which didn't show up very clearly in the photograph. This necklace is rather dainty compared to what I would normally wear, but it just seemed so pretty and it fit really well with the girlie nature of the outfit, so I've decided to include a close up to give you a better view of the Phibes Necklace from CoLLisions!

What is she wearing;
Hair: Magika - Early Christmas (Past Group Gift)
Skin: Pink Fuel - Gacha 02 in Cyber Grey

Old Looking Photographs for HORROR HAUTE MAY

YAY Horror Haute is here for another monthly outing. I always forget to mention when I am posting anything Horror Haute related but just in case you don't know, Horror Haute runs for the last week of the month - every month!
Something not so yay though is that I have that horrible pain back - the same pain that had me stuck in hospital for a week at the end of March - so sorry if this post seems more rambling than normal!
So the first photo that I have pulled together for Horror Haute this month, turned out like some kind of old photograph. The kind that you might find stuffed in an attic, turning brown and crinkling with age. What started as a cute outfit was lead in this direction by this rather grand, old looking chair - as the item from somewhat new to the Horror Haute line-up - De Baza - the chair comes scripted with a number of poses that would make it perfect for a cosy, Gothic style living room!  I pulled on my favourite top hat - that comes with this hair from Wasabi Pills - as a finishing touch to the outfit, but the bloody corset with it's ruffled bolero from Cain cried out for a shorter hairstyle. I guess I just got lucky with the fact that the hat looked so cool too hehe... To finish the look I needed something around my neck, and in stepped The Little Bat with their Horror Haute Necklace brandishing the slogan "Beware the Night"!
While on the subject of Horror Haute though, one of the other participating stores - Lamp*Light - the outfit of which I covered in my post - A Lamp*Light Shines on the Franken Fran - last week, is having a sale! Now I won't be going into the specifics of the look I pulled together, I've done that before BUT I will let you know that this sale is ONLY running until May 28th, and there is a HUGE heap of items priced between 1 - 40L. Even if you think the things here are not your usual style, why not step outside the box, try something different, or even like I do with a lot of the stuff - make it fit your own styles! For these prices you'd be silly not to even take a peek?! Least I believe so anyway!

What is she wearing;
Hair: Wasabi Pills - Magician
Skin: Sugar - Ink in Tone 3 Dark Brows
Face Piercing: SHOCK - Kiss My Spikes in Zebra
Necklace: The Little Bat - Beware the Night Necklace (HORROR HAUTE MAY)
Top: Cain - Ruffle Bolero with in Bloody (HORROR HAUTE MAY)
Pose Prop: De Baza - Victorian Gothic Black Leather Chair (HORROR HAUTE MAY)

SL DisneyBound - Week 11

So OK, I've been through the extremes when it comes to my Disney looks for the past two weeks... First there was the overly adorable pretty princess Marie the Kitten and then I followed that up with the rather evil looking Flotsam & Jetsom - although I wasn't actually sure which of those I was trying to be hehe...
This week we come back to something a little bit nicer looking, although this character has always seemed to be a little bit nuts... Maybe it's because I think of Blackadder whenever I hear him talking, or maybe its because he is so bossy that he seems nuts, but whatever the reason, I had to dig around for feathers this week, and the find of the century came out of my inventory... I'd completely forgotten the most awesome feather boa ever... Shame on me!
WEEK 11 - ZAZU (From The Lion King)!
As the adviser to King Mufasa, Zazu is a bird with possible power issues LOL... He tries to boss around the little lion cub Simba, yet he does allow the king to use him as a training tool for the young cub by making him a target in the art of pouncing! Zazu doesn't take the sassiness of Simba and is quick to retort - "That's Mr. Banana Beak to you, Fuzzy!" - Mr.Banana Beak... Gotta love anyone that can take name calling and turn it into a joke like that!
So for my Mr. Banana Beak look I simply found myself drawing up against a brick wall and stopping LOL... He has orange legs, let's go with that I said - one pair of orange pants later and a check in the box, and it was on to the harder part... My top half! It needed to be something blue, well you may have noticed that unless it's jeans I don't wear much blue... Still there had to be something buried in my wardrobe somewhere. I dug down deep and decided to layer things up with a white undershirt, a futuristic mesh pattern dress top and a very Rudhish sweater. I love being able to layer things like that, it makes me happy hehe...
BUT the crowning glory of this outfit HAS to be this awesome feather boa from Schadenfreude. I was naughty, this was a white one that I re-coloured, but seriously this boa attaches to a number of different points in small sections and the join lines between those are faultless - least on me anyway -  and in a way this is so much better than some of the boas I have seen which have been created in Mesh! The feathers are flexi - old school I know! - but they move in such a natural way, I guess it goes to show how something awesome like this will last and last. Mesh is great but I am having to try hard not to forget the awesome stuff I loved in the past, like this boa... I will have to remember where I've stored this hehe!!!
The photo itself was something that I had trouble finding a location for - luckily Grendel's Children (a store filled with fun avatars) has a landscape below it that seemed to perfectly fit the Lion King Style... If you want to see the landscape, then you will need to leave the store and head for the ground - I would suggest if you are going the aerial route you fly down, falling from 3000 feet hurts - anyone got a plaster?
I want to once again though point out just how much I am loving this challenge - hosted by Miss Natalee Oodles on the StyleMinions Blog - like the Colour Challenge before it, this challenge is helping me rediscover so much of my old stuff hehe!!!

Behind the SL Me... A Meme!

I was perusing the blogs at work today, because well we ran out of things to do before lunch and whilst waiting for some new stuff to come through I had time on my hands and a computer in front of me LOL - I noticed on the blog by Miss Kismet Faith, Confessions of a SL Shoppaholic, a new Meme being offered up, which seemed kind of fun and fairly cute... Why not join in? Her blog leads to the original issuer of the Meme, Miss Cara Oliveri of iCandy - and although I am sure I have done this type of thing before in a past blog post, because I seem to change the things I love so frequently, I can't help myself when something so fun and easy falls into my lap!
Favorite Color: Black (Unless rainbows can count as a colour? Is that cheating?)
Favorite Flower: Sunflower
Favorite Animal: Donkeys (This was a tough one to pick just one, I like lots of different animals and it could be ANYTHING depending on my mood... Right now though... Donkeys!)
Favorite Music: Rock, the louder the better, although normally in the Metal or Alternative range (However I have a fairly ecclectic taste and can and do sing along to the radio regularly!)
Favorite Book: Gormenghast or anything by Tolkein. Though I love to read all sorts of different things, I'm currently reading the book to go with Rob Zombie's new movie - it's a bit grotesque in places, but I love a good book that I can get lost in!
Favorite Movie: The Lord of the Rings. It really captured the essence of the books for me, I think I saw it way too many times at the cinema for it to have been healthy LOL...
Favorite Television Show: Supernatural, although I will admit that I am a little far behind on it at the moment - so don't talk to me about story lines lol...
Favorite Hot Drink: Tea... Gotta love a nice cuppa tea when it's cold and yucky outside!
Favorite Cold Drink: Shandy. On hot summer days, after a long hard day in the office there is nothing better than a cold glass of shandy - that's lemonade and beer, if you have no idea what a shandy is.
Favorite Food: Crisps. The crunchier the better... Doesn't matter on flavour either!
Favorite Clothing: Jeans, I live in Jeans. I dress them up, I dress them down, but I am always in jeans!
Favorite Number: 6
Favorite Letter: E
Favorite Place: Home. No matter where I go, it is always nice to come back home!
Favorite Season: Autumn... Love the colours and the feeling of snuggling up when it's getting colder.
Astrological Sign: Pisces
Favorite Sports Team: To be honest I can't say that I give much of a crap about Sports. I used to play Rugby at school and will occasionally sit with my dad to watch a  game featuring the London Wasps - I'll go with that LOL!
Favorite Fantasy Creature: Fairies or Zombies - I have a thing about both. I love vampires too but if I could choose I'd be a Zombie Fairy!
Favorite Hobby: Reading, or blogging... Blogging is addictive but reading is more relaxing. I love curling up with a good book...
Favorite Song: Living Dead Girl by Rob Zombie!

That's my list... I'd love to see yours!

Time for a Lesson... A Meme!

OK this week's Meme from Miss Strawberry Singh was one that seemed to need a little more thought than some of the other weeks. She wanted us to teach her something new... I wracked my brains trying to work out exactly what it would be that I could teach someone. I thought of things like organising my inventory - something that I have been doing since I first started my SL nearly 7 years ago - or something silly along the lines of how to create a fun Zombie look, but then a little thought struck me in the back of my mind...
Recently I have been facing a fair few challenges in my SL, due to the fact that I became not only a member, but a senior officer in HellBone's Biker MC - The Gators. I will have no problem admitting that prior to the last few weeks I had tried a few times to ride a bike in SL but had failed and therefore gave up, basically I was a novice, and it shocked me just how much there is to know about riding a bike in SL. I wished there was a manual in how to ride a bike... I mean OK there are user manuals, but it would be nice to have a simplified version without all the hows and the whys sometimes.
So here are my basic hints on how to ride a motorbike in SL... Not as simple as I originally thought - there was I coming across like a bit of a noob - I truely believed that you got on a bike and could just drive and it would be easy... BOY was I wrong. I mean, you can just jump on a bike and ride it but I have a few little tips to help out - tips that I have taught myself...
* When driving the UP Arrow will move your bike forward, but the DOWN arrow won't make you reverse - I forget this all the time, and I'm always getting stuck against walls wondering why the heck I can't reverse!
* You will need to change gear to ride properly, if you don't you will be too slow and wonder why you're being left in the dust! This is where things get a little tricky, you need to use multiple keys to make this work hehe... The LEFT and RIGHT arrows will change the gears up and down but you need to hold down SHIFT to make the gears change.
* CORNERS are a pain in the ass LOL... There are two ways to take them, one is marginally easier LOL... Either gently tap the arrow key a couple of times to turn you slowly, or hold your finger on the arrow key. I know this sounds obvious but it takes a LOT more practice to be able to do the latter of these two options and stay on the road... Trust me!
* The DOWN arrow is the BREAK!!! Majorly important that one!
* One last and possibly most important point... DON'T BE AFRAID TO CRASH INTO THINGS OR FALL OFF THINGS! Apparently it happens to seasoned riders as well as novices, and luckily in SL things don't hurt when you crash into them!
I know that I could have written about something important and probably more useful, but if someone had given me these little tips when I started riding a bike in SL it would have made the whole experience a lot easier. Notecards that come with the vehicles are so technical... I just wanted to know what meant stop and what meant go. I also figured the important stuff would be covered before I could even start my lessons, so going for something totally random... Maybe I can teach Miss Berry something new?!

Butterfly Salvation of a Demonic Soul

Some days my mood influences my photography in SL, is that just me or does it happen with other people too? I'd had a bit of a crazy few hours last night, and as I started pulling this outfit together my mind seemed to still be in overdrive, yet when I stepped back and took a good long look at the outfit I'd come up with I am glad my mind too me in the direction that it did...
Yesterday was the opening of this month's Limited Bazaar - a sale in which items are sold by designers in limited quantities of 100 (least I think that is the total number offered by each designer?!). I got so overly excited about the Drink Me Bottle Necklace from Maxi Gossamer - which will be making an appearance here I am sure - that I was there as they opened the event and grabbed for the necklace. Yet when I was looking further at the items, this butterfly headpiece caught my attention - I have something very similar to this already from BOOM - and though this would be something that I won't wear on a daily basis (or probably again as it will be buried in the warehouse somewhere!) I can't really resist butterflies! I guess it just appealed to my somewhat "interesting" sense of a random style!
This photo seemed to almost be a salvation of a demoness with a cross branded on her face. Her mystic third eye forced to open, as a rabble - or lek apparently?! - of butterflies appeared to heal her wounded skin... Basically I don't really know where I was trying to go with this look, it just sort of happened... But it was too pretty not to share, and Limited Bazaar won't have things in stock for long so if you want to check out what goodies may or may not be available, I would urge you to do so, you never know what will tickle your fancy!

A Lamp*Light Shines on the FrankenFran!

This post I had an Oops NO Crap moment on before, and I am sorry about having a misfire and prematurely posting it, that is if anyone even noticed. I think I got carried away with myself LOL... Not only do I ramble, sometimes I forget to even think about what I am up to lol...
I will blame it on the fact that once again I am in my living dead girl form, being alive is something that I never do for long...
This look is due to the fact that the upcoming Horror Haute for May has a theme, based this month on the old school horror movies. Miss AliceAnn - the cutiepatootie behind Lamp*Light - has gone back to one of her older looks and given her a spring clean so to speak, dusting her off and renewing lots of parts to bring back the gorgeous Franken Fran! This outfit comes with SO MANY ITEMS, I had trouble working out where to begin as I was pulling clothes on hehe... The body parts fell out of the box in a tumble - hair, eyes, feet, shape - I played with them all, but in the end I decided to remain in my usual shape and hair of my own to give you a feel of how things can look on your own body. There are tons of clothing options too... The shirt is part of the outfit, as are the tights and panties - the outfit comes with a skirt that can be seen in one of the photos that I took of AliceAnn a few days ago - I went with a somewhat sexier Franken Fran look... Teaming the look with a pair of old but still awesome knee high's, a chain necklace and even some pretty flowers in my hair! You'll have to wait till Horror Haute to get your own Franken Fran from Lamp*Light... It's not long now... If you want to check out the Spooky Interactive Haunted House, it is a fun place to play, and would be great for people of all ages.

What is she wearing;

SL DisneyBound - Week 10

This week is a bit of a landmark week, 10 weeks of Disney already. It's kinda hard to fathom that I've been working through this for 10 weeks now - doesn't feel like last week that I saw the idea come up on Miss Natalee Oodles Blog Styleminions. I will admit that I have been a little lazy about getting these looks done, unlike with the colour challenge, this one I am letting take me a few days to get things posted - maybe because they come out midweek?! Still I LOVE this challenge and will be sad when it ends.
This week was supposed to be another twofer... Two Disney Characters meaning a couple shot, I didn't want to disturb anyone with my madness and Hell pretty much ran again, even though this week is all about the evil! This week, we are back under the sea!!!
WEEK 10 - FLOTSAM & JETSAM (From The Little Mermaid)!
Minions to the evil Sea Witch, Ursula - who I thought was pretty cool when I was little by the way, and who had one of the best songs in the movie too - these two eels provide a means of watching Ariel as she tries to win the kiss of Prince Eric. The sniggering twosome help out when "the Boss is on a roll" with a poor unfortunate soul, and lead Ariel into the path of the Sea Witch...
So yea, this week is a little more evil looking than the pretty princess kitty of last week! I had to seriously restrain myself from searching for an eel like mertail here too, but I - in the end - I pulled on a skin in the right colour range and added a tattoo layer from the Dragon Born skin range by [Gauze], wearing a simple dress and some evil looking teeth to replicate that eel-like grin! A few accessories, including a Shell Necklace - similar to the one that Ursula uses to hold Ariel's voice - and I think Flotsam (or am I Jetsam) is good to go hehe... Though luckily, the location that I found for this backdrop wasn't full of evil underwater folk - the Undersea World Mermaid Heaven is a pretty and serene place for merfolk to hang out, the dark places here seem few and far between hehe...

Dancing Adorkably, High on Cute Poison, MishMish and Pink Acid

I started this post today at work, but I rambled on WAY too much than was healthy for one blog post, so I erased it all and started again... Maybe my posting while I am at work should go on my list as one of my guilty confessions, but then again at this time of year work is quiet!
There are LOTS of pretty things that I simply cannot resist showing off though, things that I couldn't get my hands on fast enough, and so much pretty that my living dead girl has been consigned to the back of my closet for now - although I head Goth Fair has opened, so that may change things hehe...
Where to start with this photo, maybe I should start from the top down... Pinwheels, I LOVE THEM! I had had my beady little eye on this pose for a while now, but when I saw that Adorkable is closing I wasn't sure whether to feel really sad about losing such a great and long running store, or whether I was excited about all the poses being available at 50% off!!
The Monkey... Oh my gosh the Monkey... This has to be one of the most adorable things that I have bought in a while - since the last time the designer put out a creation in fact! MishMish released these adorable Monkeys and there are different sets available in different places. I got - from the main store a set of mouthie monkeys that hang from the corner of your mouth by the tail, and a set of huggable monkeys (like the blue one shown here). These ones come in sets of 4 different colours, luckily because I couldn't decide on just one colour LOL! There are also follower pets that can be bought for 100L per colour at The 100 Block event that is currently being hosted by Depraved Nation.
While on the subject of The 100 Block, let's turn our attention to this adorable skirt from Cute Poison. Available in 5 different denim colours, I think this is a must have staple in any wardrobe, every girl should have a decent denim skirt! I'm partial to the gray coloured skirt but there is a denim colour to suit every mood!
Finally we move down to my last new exciting thing - these tights are freaking fab and I have Pink Acid to thank for them. I bought this set from Fi*Friday - initially I was a little dismayed to find out that there was a wrong set in the box (although those are equally awesome!) but after a quick message to the designer, Miss Stasey Oller, I got the correct pair and an apology. Thank you Miss Oller, your customer service was brilliant, and thank you again for the gift, I have to say I freaking LOVE these tights!!!

Right now I have some Guilty Confessions... A Meme

So Miss Singh has put out another Meme and this week it is all about our Guilty Confessions - purely SL related of course, although I will like Berry admit that I have in the past been known to curl up with some oldies show reruns on the TV *coughs* MurderSheWrote *coughs*... Sorry had to clear my throat out a little bit there, but moving on in hasty fashion...
I grabbed a pretty picture, and threw it up here to maybe distract from my Guilty Confessions. Berry has suggested that we try to think of between 1 and 10 different confessions, and I have no sure idea about how many things I may confess here, who knows there could be more depending on how much my fingers run away with me as I'm writing this?!?
1 - I organise my inventory like my life depends on it. At the moment I have an inventory pushing 50K - now I know that isn't very big in comparison to some inventories, take Miss Singh's as an example - but when it is not completely organised I begin to freak out a little. It's something I would NEVER care about in my RL but I do get a little OCD about it in SL for some reason. I do have a large freebies folder, but even that is sorted into categories with subcategories and as soon as I have used something I will file it away within the depths of my warehouse wardrobe!
2 - I have a shoe collection of well over 2000 pairs. One day - a few years ago now - I was bored randomly and I decided it would be a good idea to count up my shoe collection, don't ask me why LOL... Anyhow, I got through counting my shoes and realised that I had about 2000 pairs. Now OK this was at least 3 years, maybe 4, ago and I have deleted a fair few since then but I will hold my hands up and say that I have bought more than I threw away...
3 - As much as I love Mesh I am a bit scared of certain mesh body parts. I say certain mesh body parts because to be honest there is no way that you could part me with my mesh hair, but I have a bit of an issue with other mesh body parts because I am scared of losing my individuality. It has taken me the longest time - and a bit of a kick up the butt by a certain Fairy BobMother - for me to move from my sculptie feet to a mesh pair, and I have recently become a fan of the enhancement nails from SLINK, but the heads and to some extent the hands, seem to make people look too similar to each other. I remember at Skin Fair when one of the stores had new mesh heads for sale - they were adorable, but there suddenly seemed to be masses of posts with people all morphing into one whilst wearing them... That scared me a little! Don't get me wrong, seeing them on people when they aren't en-mass is great, but seeing so many people wearing the same exact head was a little creepy!
4 - I worry that I am disturbing people! I have an issue when it comes to contacting people in SL and I tend to stand around on my own a lot of the time, simply because I always feel like I am disturbing someone by sending them an IM. I used to be a lot worse with this but now days I have gotten a little better. There are only a small handful of people that I will open IMs to on a regular basis, and when it comes to talking to designers or event organisers about anything I get so shy and feel that I would just be an annoyance that sometimes I can talk myself out of IMming people.
OK SO I can only think of 4 different confessions right now, some of them may seem a little pathetic but they are my guilty confessions... for now anyway hehe

AlliWalli Is Flying Away!

Not often, but occasionally, I feel the urge to take photos of other people. Sometimes it gets more than a little frustrating taking photos of myself all the time - even if I do try and play around with my looks. It very rarely happens that people will ask me to take their photo. In fact it's only ever happened twice, that I can remember anyway, normally it's me just shooting first and then sharing it with them later.
Yet Alice and I had been talking about doing some photos of her for a while, and I finally found some time to set something up.
She came over to our build platform and I set to work, dangling her over the edge of a 4000m high platform in the sky, with her own protection from plummeting to her death being a huge bunch of balloons.
Alice's work as a designer - and owner - of Lamp*Light tends to veer on the anime style, with a focus on bright and fun designs, and masses of accessories, making each purchase a worthwhile one as you never ever just get the outfit, you always get heaps of extra goodies too. I just love the way that her colourful and vibrant personality shines through these photos, and OK although I modded them, Alice with her cute floppy hair cut, pretty face and adorable ears is the real reason these photos turned out in such a whimsical way.
Thank you for letting me take your photo Alice, I'm glad you held on tight to the balloons...

(For details about Alice's outfit, please feel free to ask and I will try to find out the details for you!)

An evening drinking lemonade...

Yesterday evening was awesome, I had so much fun and I am totally sure that my blood pressure went up a few notches. I met friends boyfriends - who are actually now fiances not boyfriends - I found myself an adorable outfit, sat playing with rainbow squirrels and was asked to provide an extra body for one of my blogging idols - not sure if idols would be the right word to use, but this lady is someone I admire greatly and she wanted ME to come pose with her... OH MY GOSH!!!
Sophia Harlow is one of my favourite bloggers to read on a daily basis. If there is such a thing as a SLebrity - not sure there is but ya know, everyone has their own versions - I would say that this lady right here is one of mine. I was so nervous about making myself look like a muppet, even though we have talked for a while now - this was the first time she'd ever wanted me to come and pose with her!
Yet I didn't need to worry, she is one of the most down to earth, friendly, considerate people I have had the pleasure of meeting in a long while... I wasn't just a prop to be used how she needed me, she asked what I'd like and then kept apologising for taking a while - seriously Soph you didn't need to, you're MUCH faster than I am lol... Sophia tends to dress in a much more feminine style than I do - hence why I was a little worried about my outfit LOL - but she has this uncanny ability to rock her looks up or tone them down depending on her mood! I love the way she seems to pull together outfits effortlessly, but more than that I love the fact that she is willing to help a little fish blogger like myself try to improve. A lot of people give me good comments and criticisms - more often than not when I am asking them in-world rather than here as comments - but if I have a question about blogging, no matter how benign, Soph is always willing to step back and help me, and so for that THANK YOU SOPH!!
Her photo is gorgeous, a summery afternoon with lemonade and a side of vodka hehe, I went for something a little different - more like a summers evening I guess, maybe motivated by the fact it was 10PM in RL for me hehe... I was doing so well, I mean I was a little overly excited at being in a Sophia Harlow photo but I remained coolish until I had a fan girl moment *facepalms*
For details about Soph's outfit you will need to check out her post - here - but I loved doing this so much I hope she will ask me again... Thanks again Soph... I love what you did with me hehe!

Why does it always rain on me?

OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH FENNUX AT COLLABOR88.... I CAN HAVE ONE AND HELL WON'T TELL ME OFF!!!
Sorry, Lol, got a little over excited when I saw who was a special guest at this month's Collabor88! I've wanted a Fennux for a LONG TIME - since I saw their first concept pictures appearing on Flickr to be exact - but Hell has always said no. We used to have chickens, and they caused lag and cost a fair bit to feed, so he put his foot down and tried to buy me off with other shiny things!
Yet this time, they are non-breedable, he can't say anything that will stop me... MWHAHAHAHAHAHA... THANK YOU COLLABOR88!!!
So yes, this is me and my little addition to the RudHellowen family, I've called him Myfen and he shall be seen wandering around with me and generally being SO FREAKING CUTE. Though he is definitely my favourite Collabor88 purchase this month I did go a bit nuts and bought a fair few things. I haven't used them all yet but I couldn't resist playing in the rain with this awesome umbrella hat from Intrigue Co. I had one of the older versions of this from Intrigue Co but I couldn't resist this upgrade. I also grabbed a set of the Rainy Days Jewellery from Intrigue Co too, a necklace is included with the earrings, but there are 5 different colours it was so hard to choose hehe... The glasses - could you call these sunglasses? I'm not quite sure - are brilliant and from another Collabor88 guest. Made by ContraptioN they feature some sun coloured melting and for 88L I simply didn't want to miss!
I teamed my Collabor88 purchases with the dress that was a past group gift from Paper.Doll, and some awesome Star Tights from Lamp*Light. I've also started wearing nails - during the Slink sale recently, they had a set of Enhancement Fingernails for Default Hands. These mesh nails should attach to and fit any basic human avatar without the need for modding them to sit correctly on your fingers - they just automatically attach to the exact right points - don't ask me how I am just marveling at them. I can now wear the nails that designers are putting out using the new Slink system. I do love the mesh hands that Slink made, but at the moment I am still happy with my default hands - the mesh ones are on my list but for now I am so pleased to have these enhancement nails!
The same Fairy Bobmother who showed me the nails was also the one to provide me the perfect location to dance in the rain whilst I was shooting myself. The Grey November Gallery is home of some gorgeous art, set in rainy weather. It seems to evoke all the things I love about rain the most - the sound, the smell and even the colours of the sky! Such a pretty place to visit!

SL DisneyBound - Week 9

Wednesday came and went, leaving us another dose of my new favourite challenge - SL DisneyBound. Last week we had one of the Disney Princesses to contend with, a character that you see on a large amount of Disney merchandise aimed at the little girls out there, but this week we are staying in the realm of Disney Princesses - however, I often feel that this princess is somewhat overlooked as she isn't one of the conventional human shaped princesses. Just because she is a kitten, doesn't mean she isn't a princess with it right?
WEEK 9 - MARIE (From The Aristocats)!
So yeah, I think this is one kitten that is deserving of princess status. She is a pampered kitten living the high life, setting out on an unexpected adventure with her family and meeting some kick-butt, Jazz playing Alley Cats along the way. The songs from this movie are definitely ones that get me dancing, and the overly pampered princess Marie reminds me of someone I know in RL - you might have heard mention of my RL puppy Izzy... LOL
Putting together a look for a kitten I tried to avoid the obvious, but I was drawn into the obvious and only missed a tail! I couldn't resist kitten ears and a cute kitten nose, so OK I know I'm supposed to be replicating her style but these things were a necessary hehe... I went with a huge pink flower rather than a hair bow though and kept my outfit fairly simple but I think I look cute, and maybe capture the adorableness of Marie?! Maybe?!
As for the location, the movie is set in historic Paris... Where would be better to take my photo for this challenge than the Paris 1900 sim. I wandered down the Champs-Élysées, window shopping and thought 'hmmm perfect place for a tourist photo and my Maria!'

My Second Life in a Haiku

A new Meme to challenge us set by Miss Singh, and what's more the theme of this Meme seems to fit perfectly with the epicness of this post - for me personally anyway.
I am so excited to be able to say that this is my 500th post! 500 rambling posts since I first started my ramble space on September 11th, 2010 - I've gone from strength to strength, both as a blogger in general and as a photographer, and although I am nowhere near where I want to be in terms of my abilities, I am so excited to be able to say that I made it through 500 posts hehe...
The fact that Berry came up with a Meme this week that was about us being able to sum up our Second Lives in the form of a Haiku is, I feel, a brilliant way for me to celebrate not just my SL, but also the achievement that I have reached for myself on my blog too...
Writing Haikus is HARD! I've never been very good at poetry, but when you have to sort your entire SL into the form of a Haiku - which is a poem made up of three lines with 5 syllables in the first, 7 in the second and 5 in the third for those of you who don't know - I will have to admit that I nearly decided to give up on this Meme.I may well have done if I hadn't suddenly realised that the Meme would be my 500th post and it would make a perfect post!
So after much scratching of my head, I came up with a Haiku that fits my SL in just the right way!
