An Evening in the City

 After a busy day at work, I have to say that heading home is always a great feeling... I have to say that closing the shop and heading out into the dark streets of Amsterdam can feel a little scary sometimes, but the lights and the sounds and all the people still milling around having a lovely evening can be a little exciting... 
Walking through the streets, it made me think of my latest look of the day and the fact that it would be perfect to wander through certain streets in the city I call home... 

It's definitely onf of those blog posts today that's about a Look of the Day more than anything that is a floght of my imagination... I've been wearing this outfit for a few days and I love it, but after I've done wearing it for a few days I have to get out, take a picture and move on to something new LOL... 
It started with a 1313 Mockingbird Lane Norma Jean Bikini - that yes I'm wearin just the top of - and added an adorable skirt from Psycho Barbie, finishing it off with some duckie Hitched Stockings and a Gabriel One-Shoulder Riders Jacket...

Over-Thinking Causes My Fears!

Ever have those days where your inner voice is screaming louder than normal, especially screaming about those faults you find in yourself?! Anxiety, Regret, Stress, Pain and Depression seem to be a fairly common thing these days, and although by no means I am dismissing this, it really does show a sign of our times. I myself suffer from anxiety attacks, massive amounts of stress and a feeling that I'm never going to be good enough. Luckily, unlike some, I am able to keep it in check most of the time, and I've gotten very good at hiding it from the world, but there are just some days when these feelings bubble to the surface... Days a little like today... 

It's times like these that I feel really thankful for being able to log into Second Life, so that I can drift off into my own little world and find my therapy. The therapy in question for me is taking pictures and writing here. My blog - although often full of fun and random stuff - has always been something like a journal for me. I use it to help me relax, to make me forget the world around me and focus on something productive. On days like today, this blogging space is vital for me! 
Now I know that the pose and backdrop I've chosen for this post today may seem a little counter-productive for the message that I am trying to share, BUT actually the visual of it is really helping me. The backdrop - created by FOXCITY - really speaks to me. I know I over-think things, and comments like these will ALWAYS leave me floundering, my brain rushing to the most extreme scenario! The pose - from Reve Obscura - is such a true statement. My fears always cause the outcomes of anxiety, stress and in some cases bouts of depression! I will fully admit to this... I know what triggers these things but I am often powerless to stop it. Yet it's times like this, when I can sit back and channel my energy into my blogging journal that things become clear and sense can be made of it in my head. 
Again, I will say that this does not diminish the way that others may feel. I am not saying it's a good thing for everyone, and not suggesting that my own thoughts are worse than anyone else's. That's not the point I want to make here... This works for ME, we all have our own systems of handling things. I don't really do this for anyone besides myself, but I do want to spend a moment to reach out to anyone that ever reads my blog or checks out my pictures to say THANK YOU! Thank you for being on the ride with me, thank you for letting me express myself, and I hope that even if it's just for a second or two it can make you feel happy... I know it makes me happy!

"Daddy brought me one of dem newfangled Air Conditioner thingies!"

On Sunday, my lovely niece and crazy brother had a HillBilly wedding!! It was so much fun to get dressed up, and it's something that I'm really not good at. I've never really done it before, but for some reason I ended up as a Pregnant Stripper... It was SO funny to hear Kitten's Daddy - Lex - reading their wedding vows to which both had to respond "Yes Daddy"... 
My Daddy, Chopper, did give me a treat though. When his kid is a pregnant stripper that brings home the beer, he treated me to one of those newfangled Air Conditioner thingies... 

Coolin' off in the swamp outside my trailer... Got the Dawgs enjoying the cool air... In the family garden at Skull Creek...

I'm off to the House of the Mouse

Oh my gosh it's finally here, the eve of the day before I disappear for a few days!! I mentioned it before but tomorrow is the special family trip that has been planned for a while and it's finally here. TOMORROW I'M GOING TO EURODISNEY!!
My parents are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary on Sunday May 7th, and decided that they would like to do a special family trip to the house of the mouse. Dad keeps telling everyone he's taking a trip with his little girls, my sister and I are now in our late 20s and early 30s, but we're not about to burst his bubble - both of us are die hard Disney fans - even if it does mean we have to endure the Small World ride more than once LOL...

Rudh will not be coming with me though, I'm going to be MIA for a few days, and she was a little sad about it, but I made it up to her by finding an awesome Disney Tribute location in SL called ForeverLand. If you want a park of Magic, and have a craving for Disney, then THIS is the place to go to see the characters! 
I even let her get dressed up - though I have a feeling her outfit might get her kicked out of the real Disneyland... She found her top, which is part of a set of characters from a store called TOXICDOLLS - and as Pluto is Hell's favourite that's the one she went for. She punked things up with some awesome spiked jewellery - available from Suicidal Unborn at The Dark Style Fair, and even pulled on a pair of punkish Minnie Mouse Ears - from Dirtyland - anything in an attempt to get me to allow her to come too... 
No such luck Rudh, I'm going without you this weekend, but never fear everyone, not long and I will be back home! 
Right now though I'm so excited so I will bid you adieu and see you on Wednesday!!!

She does more than Cheer

I love creating characters for myself and have many to choose from. They vary in style and each makes me smile, filling a role when I need it. You will know the Dead Doll me, may know the Demonic and Kawaii mes, and I'm sure you've met the side of me that is coming out to play today... The Dirty Girl me! This one is NOT very PG, she's a bit of a bad girl and when she is allowed out she's a lot of fun too...
I was sent a lovely gift from a friend that she managed to turn into the perfect uniform for her dirty fantasies!

The Bodysuit - which was the innocent gift - as a Tentacio "Let's Dance" Bodysuit from the gacha at Kustom9. Now for some reason, and don't ask me how, this innocent and rather cute looking bodysuit developed a life of it's own and became the outfit worn by a very bad cheerleader at Deep Valley High School. Just for the record the school - and the random stranger that wandered into the sports hall whilst I was working on this picture - are not affiliated with my dirty cheerleader look, but the school itself is an AMAZING location for Roleplay and as a photo backdrop - just remember to join the group's guest role!
This cheerleader helps her own sports team to win, by distracting the boys on the opposition team. Her Pompoms - from Reign and Besom's NOSEBLEED Gacha collection - are just decoys, her real  role on the Cheer Squad is as a distraction. The cigarettes are also a cover, this little cheerleader will do more than smoke behind the bike sheds, there are hints of what she will do by the smear on her glasses and her slightly ruined lipstick... BUT HEY HO anything for the boys on her team to win right?!

Rudh joined the Mickey Mouse Army

Monday Morning, June 20th, and it's raining! It's a true Summers Day here in this part of Europe... One of the funniest realisations came to me this morning... When I initially moved to Holland, all of the Dutch people would tell me that the weather here was better than it is in the UK... NEWS FLASH TO THE DUTCHIES OUT THERE - the weather here is no different to the weather in the UK, it's windier, true, but it rains just as much!!
Still as it's Monday, it's time for me to pull up my big girl panties and swing into fighter mode... I have to work with someone I'm sure you've heard me complain about before, and right now I need to be ready... Perhaps channelling Rudh's latest Army style will give me the power to fight and ignore the irritations in the office?!

This fighter in the Mickey Mouse Army, just happens to be Rudh! She's enjoying a moment's peace - and some WHOLE WHEAT - while she prepares to face any drama that may come her way, and unfortunately knowing SL as well as I do, that won't be too far away.
Her military uniform is made up of the awesome katat0nik "Button Up Romper", which is available this month for Collabor88, and the surprisingly great with the romper "Adrianna Boots" from Pure Poison! Oh and of course not forgetting her whole stack of accessories too...
I'm hoping she's ready for war... I feel it's coming!!!

MINNIE SMASH!!!

They put some strong stuff in decongestant cough medicines I swear... It's either that or the fact that I seem to possibly be drinking too much of the stuff?! 
It leads to some funny dreams... I mean OK I am not sleeping properly due to the coughing but last night I had a dream that I was dressed in a Minnie Mouse Suit, working at Disneyland... It was a great dream until I somehow ended up being a GIANT Minnie Mouse that was stomping things... MINNIE SMASH! 
Feeling kinda out of it when I woke up this morning, I decided that I'd pay homage to my dream hehe... 

OK OK So in my homage I am not dressed exactly like Minnie Mouse, and I am not terrorising the real Disneyland but it's all close enough... 
The buildings are actually within DRD's store as a display in miniature of one of their street scenes which you could have as a full size scene! It looks close enough that it could be Disney something anyway hehe...
The outfit was one that came about because of the Mouse accents... Created by the minds behind DirtyLand... It was DirtyLand that created these amazing Urban Mini Ears, and the Minnie Knee Guards, as well as the face strap and cigarette's armband that I am wearing here... The rest of the outfit was just set dressing as it were... 
Maybe I should try to have a nap... MINNIE SMASH!!!!!! I wanna see where this one goes hehe...

Fancy a Hustle?

It's been a few days since I've really been able to sit down and focus on anything blogging related and for that I now feel totally rubbish... Blogging is a means of release and relaxation for me, and all I can say now is thank goodness it's finally Friday. This week has been a whirlwind of SL drama and RL work being suckish, so much so that I have lost my photo taking and blogging mojo... It's a horrible feeling, and I really hope that tomorrow I can have some me time to just release my pent up emotions through my favourite addiction.
Everything is coming at me from all sides, I feel like someone out there is trying to play with my emotions, like I'm being hustled?!
Maybe I should become the hustler?? Find a hot guy to entertain me and be all coy as I challenge him to a game of pool? It's what Rudh would do!!!

How could anyone say no to her like this? Come on you know you want to play, and she is no good at pool hehe... Never mind the fact that she crossed her fingers behind her back as she said so...
Down at The Velvet Lion Club, Rudh dressed in a cute but bad girl kinda way... Her outfit was one from tres blah called Helena - available now at No.21 - it screams I am cute but rawr... As her hair, in it's innocent style battles the bad girl look that is accessorised by the combat boots, punk collar and cigarettes on her arm.

The Dead Disneyland

I've been a little stressed and tense lately, and a couple of days ago I found some time to just sit back and create a look and a photo that helped me to relax... There was no pressure, no disturbance from outside forces and no time frame for working on this, I could just sit back relax and let the good music I had in my ears lead me through to create something I was happy with...
The result was something dead LOL... I always seem to find myself making dead things! Seems like my happy place is having Rudh as a Zombie LOL, but this time however I was able to go to the "Happiest Place on Earth" a somewhat Disneyland in my mind... A post-apocalyptic Disneyland... 

I wonder about myself sometimes!! I LOVE the outcome of this photo though, I was so happy with it, and feel pleased to see how far I have come as a photographer in recent months. 
The idea for this photo started with a discovery of DirtyLand... No that's not something rude, it's a store! A really cute store that seems to be based on the artwork of Brian Vivaros (I think, but don't quote me on that) and from the creative minds behind DirtyStories. I went into a crazy buying frenzy when I found the store, I bought lots and lots, but my favourite pieces were the Minnie items... I'm wearing the Crappy Minnie Ears and the current group gift of the Minnie Lollipop, as well as a Face Strap from DirtyLand! As well as a few older nods to the great mouse lady herself, like the necklace from Noodles. OH AND... The skirt was something that I couldn't resist either, I spotted this Jupe Carre from Sorbet on someone's Flickr pages and HAD to have one!!! 
There is one more thing that needs an honourable mention and a close up... Look into my eyes, my left one more than the right one... This is a new release from Psycho.Byts - available at the Wayward Winter Event until January 31st - called Snow Queen. The set of eyes come in various colours, as basic eyes or as Mesh contacts, and although I chose to use the white, the coloured examples are very striking too!!! I'll include a close-up photo below, this may even become my new profile picture because it is just so cute, and advise you to go check out both the Wayward Winter for the eyes and Everwinter, the theme park!!
