N is for Neglected! Alphabet Time

Neglected... Yup that about sums up certain things this week! I have neglected my blog for a WHOLE WEEK NOW, I am such a bad blogger! OK, so I have been blogging on Seraphim like a crazy demonic blogger, but people actually wanna read that, so that is why it has been getting more of my attention. That and the fact that I kinda seem to have run out of ideas as to what to post about here for the time being - I could start taking photos of outfits that I put together, a lot of people seem to post Look of the Day type deals, but I am a bit loathe to start that. My personal blog definitely wasn't supposed to be solely about Fashion, though I think there may be a post going up soon about one of my new favourite stores, simply because I LOVE the outfit that I pulled on and don't want to take it off lol!!! It will be able to walk away before I change dammit lol, luckily we don't sweat in SL huh? Plus the Blog Hero Challenge seems to have dried up, though I might carry that one on alone as I loved doing it! Maybe I'll let anyone who reads this pick my songs or something lol, bit of a personal challenge... We shall see! OH the reason I'm posting today... ALPHABET TIME!
NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
What N's did I dig outta my wardrobe;
Hair: .ploom. - NIX
Skin: Tacky Star - NURSE POLLIE
Necklace: Can't find store - NANA.UK CHOKER
Dress: NEMESIS - Valentine Diva (past hunt przie)
Bracelets: .:* LooLoo&Co *:. - NEVERMORE (past hunt prize)

The store I have chosen may well be fairly familiar to anyone who reads this post, it is N-Core! I LOVE shoes, I have over 2000 pairs in SL and could technically rival Imelda Marcos! Thing is though, I am a bit bad when it comes to shoes, I love them, it is kinda an addiction and so I buy them but then they sit in my shoe closet and never get worn *facepalms*... Still SHOES ARE AWESOME!!!!

Missing the Colours!

I am missing the colour challenge *pouts*, I know that there are so many other things worth blogging out there but I miss the camaraderie and the thrill of wondering what colour will be in-store for us time around. It will sound weird to anyone that wasn't a part of the challenge the first time round but it is like I am having to go cold turkey. I know that I can get it again soon but getting my next fix won't be for a little while yet!
Is it only me counting down the days? I am so excited and have a calendar countdown already!!!!!!!

M is for MEEEEEEEE! Alphabet Time

Yes Me, I want to be all about Me today... I've been busting my ass for Seraphim all weekend, been getting like a bit of a blogging machine over there yet my poor little rambling blog is all alone! Well today I managed to say nuh uh I'm taking a break, I posted way too many events this weekend and now I am able to sit back and give my ramblings some time they deserve!
It's Alphabet Time in Rudhland, and today is being brought to you by the letter M! Mmmmmmmmm lots of good words start with M, including queen of all words Moist! (King of all words is Plinth, LOL thank you Miranda Hart)
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
What M's did I dig out of my wardrobe;
Hair: MAGIKA - Luna
Skin: ~(MISERA)~ - Crimson Smoke Skin (past hunt prize)
Necklace: >>>MOLOKO<<< - Guitar Collar
Dress: >>>MOLOKO<<< - U.K. Spunk Dress
Bracelet: Kosh - MIC BRACELET
Pants: [BedlaM] - MUERTOS TROUSERS
Shoes: MAITREYA GOLD - Shearling Boots

The location for this photo is Magika, though I did take this picture a while back before it's owner gave the store a make-over. I have to say, I hear people saying that they don't like Magika hair yet I think that it is one of my favourite brands hair wise. I love how the big fringes sweep over my face and they seem to give my face a very feminine frame. Though looking at it now this skin makes me look kinda masculine, it gives me a very manly jaw! Almost Drag Queen style!

A Hell of a laugh!

I love the fact that Hell has a name that is basically made for wordplay, there are so many different things that sound funny when I refer to my other half as his SL name, I'll leave it to your imagination at just how many statments sound funny, but this time I played on it as it was a joke aimed at Hell that had Lynnie and I in stiches.
Basically, he had asked Lynnie to help with his store, he was wanting to update his store's look, and as Lynnie is such a kick ass builder and had just finished a mammoth make-over on her own store he asked her and she agreed...
It didn't seem to take her very long at all, but what she did was just so funny I had to share it with you.
The first store she tpped Hell and I to was a store that looked like this,
I knew about the fact she was going to be doing this in advance, but seeing it rezzing it looked more hilarious than I first thought it would. All the pink and the hearts, and OH MY GAH HELL's FACE, it was one of those pictures that you wish you had a camera for. I couldn't of course I didn't wanna give the game away that I knew! Hell's jaw his the desk and then he said to me "Is she joking?" Meanwhile Lynnie was telling Hell she was trying to help him reach a new market, there are so many gay people out there in SL that this will be a new market for you type conversation, I could barely contain my giggles.
After a while she put Hell outta his misery and showed him the new store build,
but for those few minutes I nearly exploded with laughter, I needed that and after the week I'd had it was like medicine!! Thank you to both Lynnie for creating the laugh of the year and to Hell for being so adorably gullable lol... love you both!

L is for Ladylike - Alphabet Time

First off before I start with my ramblings, I think I am at least one letter ahead of everyone else taking part in the alphabet challenge at the moment. I just post one a week, but most other people I've seen seem to be somewhere back around J? Oh well I'll just keep posting my one a week until it's done!
So this week I am at L, and I went for my word of the week being Ladylike... Now I know what you're thinking, I can see it working through the cogs of you're minds, but you are just too polite to say anything. Heck I'm even thinking it too... "Rudh and Ladylike are a combination that does not mix!" See I said it, and to be frankly honest with you it is true. Normally Rudh wears "hankies" (a direct quote from Fledge) for skirts and low cut tops, not always a combination of the two, but definitely one or the other!
LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
What L's did I dig outta my wardrobe;
Hair: LOQ - Pancake
Skin: Dernier Cri - LINA
Necklace: Bliensen + MaiTai - LIZ NECKLACE
Dress: -Phoenix Rising- - LILE'S IMPRESSION

So you see when the L idea came around and I had found the dress I wanted to wear, something totally elegant (which is still strange to me to see Rudh wearing) and I was looking for a store, I knew how to get my skanky, scantily clad, "normal" style in the photo. My location this week is the store LUCK Inc, or Linc as it is sometimes referred to. Linc was the first store that I went to back when I started dressing in my urban grunge skankish way and I have to give them props for making my favourite pair of jeans too.

For my favourite Poffertjesporum!

He knows who he is, and I am sure that people may well be able to guess, especially when I tell you that Poffertjesporum is Dutch!
Every language has some crazy words or phrases that when you translate them into another language they will always sound on the borderline of ridiculous!
Poffertjesporum proved to be one of those that I couldn't stop laughing at when I heard it's translation. The first time I heard the word used, Hell was in a particularly pissed off mood and was cussing at someone or something, when he said it, it sounded rather harsh but that might have just been due to the tone of his voice at that time. Later I asked him what it was, I'm trying to learn the language - I have to ask about everything, and he said that it was a cuss word, or rather something you would call someone as an insult, but the translation had me rolling about laughing. It's a word he will NEVER be able to use at me in anger, I just break out into hysterical laughter everytime he tries to use it in anger...
POFFERTJESPORUM = PANCAKE FACE
How the heck is that supposed to be taken seriously now I know what that means? In our house it has become like a pet name for each other, we call each other that in a play fight and it still cracks me up! It definitely makes some of our British insults seem really... well, really harsh! Though on the other side of things I've been reading a website recently called Stuff Dutch People Like (which has also had me in stitches because I see this stuff going on everywhere!) that mentions how sometimes Dutch people will cuss using diseases! It baffles me what other cultures are used to, but I love the fact that the world is so much more connected and we can learn all this stuff more easily...
As for now, hope you enjoyed reading my blog post, all you pancake faces out there (LOL!)

Out with the old and in with the new

I know that is normally a reference to New Years Eve/Day, but this time it feels apt to use it about the make over that Rudh has recently undergone.
I am kinda lazy when it comes to changing things about Rudh, I know a lot of people have multiple skins, shapes and eyes, but I tend to put Rudh in one skin and one set of eyes as her "normal" look, only ever changing either when I am dressing up. That might sound boring to some people, but it is the way that I have always done it with Rudh, giving her a make over once a year if that. The last skin seen on Rudh was from (red)Queen and I had worn it for around 2 years, yet I felt it was the right time for a change!
So yeah, that is the Rudh that has been around for the last two years, many of you will have only known her looking like this. Her skin is rather tanned, with evil looking dark eyebrows and naked lips that I have been known to wear lipstick on the vast majority of the time recently! Her eyes have changed recently, they are from negaposi and are the mint colour from the silent collection. However, both her skin and eyes have been changed in the last few days and it is something that I am still getting used to...
She's now wearing a skin by Ploom. OK so Ploom isn't one of those stores I instantly think of when I think about buying a skin, but the face is just so pretty, it is much more feminine than the (red)Queen skin I wore before, and I decided to go paler tone wise... She also got the gift of some gorgeous, if darker than she is used to, eyes... Lynnie spoilt me and bought me a couple of the most gorgeous eye sets from FASHISM, we stuck with the green colour but the dark tone with the pale skin and the dark hair struck me as the look I want to go for with Rudh.
What do ya think? Was it a good or bad change?

Remembrance Day 2011

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
      Between the crosses, row on row,
   That mark our place; and in the sky
   The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago

We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
   Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
         In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:

To you from failing hands we throw
   The torch; be yours to hold it high.
   If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
         In Flanders fields.

Remembrance Day has always been important to me, as a Living Historian and an Archaeologist, I love History, I love looking back to how things used to be and feeling thankful for what we are able to do today, and I feel honoured that so many people have laid their lives on the line serving their country. Today I turn my attention back to pay respect to not only the military but to the civilians who were the last to ever have to be strong enough to face war on their own backdoor steps...  The Poppy has become an emblem in England as a sign of Remembrance, poppies bloomed across some of the worst battlefields of Flanders in World War I, their brilliant red colour an appropriate symbol for the blood spilt in the war.
So today, I wear Poppies in the form of this gorgeous dress from Vita's Boudoir, I'll be having my own little two minutes silence today as I always do on the 11th hour, of the 11th day of the 11th month, and say Thank You!

Rainbows for Luna, A special Luna Corona!

As you may well know by now the colour challenge is well and truely over for this round (although it is coming back in JANUARY yay!), but yet things are still being done in the name of 52 Weeks of Colour. This time it was the turn of the gorgeous miss Kaelyn Alecto to create an idea, one that she called "Rainbows for Luna", and I have to admit I thought it was a fantastic idea!
The idea was that we made a rainbow outfit and shared our thanks to Luna - well I know I have been saying it a lot but you can never say it enough. So, Luna, this post is for you. It is to say thank you for creating the colour challenge, I was a newbie blogger back then and can see how far I have come both as a blogger and as a photographer. I actually play around with things like wind light settings now, before I wouldn't have had much of a clue! I've also got a much bigger and much more varied wardrobe - not that the wardrobe itself would ever thank you - but the colour challenge and so by default you have helped me with more than you know!
So I created a Luna Corona, the scientific name for the rainbows that are sometimes visible as rings around the moon, with Miss Luna in mind!
Then, because I am crazy, I couldn't stop there... I went on and made 5 outfits following the list of colours that we were presented each week by Luna. I made 5 outfits, and so the last two outfits have to include 11 outfits each. THIS WAS HARD and OK I ended up looking like a bit of a train wreck but it was SO MUCH FUN lol I couldn't stop laughing!

I LOVE the way these worked out!! LOL I look like a train wreck, but YAY that's the fun of the pics!!!

K is for Kalology - Alphabet Time

Trying to make myself sound clever, but really I kinda cheated. I wanted to see if I could try learning a new word for each alphabet post letter, and so when I looked online I found the word Kalology! Apparently, and please correct me if I'm wrong, but the work Kalology means a study of beauty, and this is something that I feel links particularly well with SL and SL blogging. Blog posts that I read regularly show of beauty in many, many forms - be it beautiful avatars wearing beautiful clothing, or beautiful minds creating beautiful photos, it is an ever present feeling that shows through in EVERY POST that I seem to have read recently. No place has shown to be more involved with Kalology than the Colour Challenge group... I miss you guys already!!!
KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
What K's did I dig outta my wardrobe;
Hair: .ploom. - KISHA
Skin: KEIKO - Bisque(past hunt prize)
Necklace: KOSH - Nebula
Dress: ..::Beauty Killer::.. - KREEPS
Shoes: A-Bomb - KHITTEN BOWED HEELS

The location of this picture has very recently, I mean like yesterday, changed it's layout creating a HUGE store (one that is currently running a 50% off sale I might add!), KOSH. KOSH has and will most likely always be one of my favouritist stores in SL, and one that I can say is a go to store. I go here if I need furniture, or jewellery, or make-up! There is such an eclectic mix here, that you are bound to find something to suit your taste, and so finding a K location for me really was the easiest task this week, hehe!

Remember, Remember

Remember remember the fifth of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder, treason
Should ever be forgot...
November 5th is a traditional event in the history of the England. On the 5th November 1605, Guy Fawkes was found guilty, along with a number of his conspirators, of trying to blow up the houses of Parliament in London. For his crime he was given what could have been one of the worst forms of execution, Hang, Drawing and Quartering (basically the guilty party was hanged almost to the point of death, emasculated, beheaded, disemboweled and then cut into four pieces). In the years after this it was customary for the King and Parliament to commission a sermon about remembrance, hence remember, remember.
In England, this is still remembered (though not sure if everyone knows WHY) with fireworks, bonfires and the burning of Guy dolls that children make out of old newspapers and clothes.
Rudh is watching a display of fireworks, in the way that I do in RL, if I am forced to go see them (I don't really like fireworks, I blame my parents, LONG STORY!) Though I love a pretty sparkler, so I hope I can get some this year... IN FACT I KNOW I HAVE SOME IN A DRAWER!!!! YAY! I plan on celebrating it with a dinner that makes you feel all snugly and warm, and then some pretty sparklers (only wish I had my family around too!  - sorry been feeling kinda homesick!)

52 Weeks of Colour - 15 Favourites!

As a final homage to the first round of 52 Weeks of Colour Challenge, Luna has set another task for the challengers... This time it was not a colour we had to pick a look for but we were asked to pick out our 15 favourite weeks! OK, I sat looking through my photos, I asked Hell for his opinion, I looked some more, I ummed and I awwed, and I have to say that THIS was MUCH HARDER than the challenge itself!
I love how my take on the challenge twisted though, at the beginning it was just pretty outfits that I was looking for, but gradually I found myself on a slippery slope into my dressing up box and by the end I was dressing as something crazy every week... Ya know what though I CAN'T WAIT TO DO IT AGAIN!!!
My photo abilities have changed a lot too, the first photo looks really bad when I look back on it... I guess I have to say Thank You again to Luna for the challenge as it helped me be a better blogger all round!
I call this collection, my 52 Weeks of Colour pictures, "A Dress-up Box in the Attic", it made me feel like a kid again being able to hide in the attic and play with fun costumes, hehe, hence why I did it every week!
But anyway, I did the soppy post last week and now I know that the challenge will be back I am so excited. Normally about this time of year I would be getting excited about Christmas coming, about going home to see my family... NOW I'm like forget Christmas BRING ON JANUARY 1st!!!! YAYYYYY!!

My Favourite 15 Weeks:
Looking back up through those I really look like I could become a crazy cat lady in the future?! EEK! *hugs to all the amazing people I have met through this challenge*

Blog Hero... Week 16

This week's song takes me back to my school days, in 1998 when the song was released I was 12 years old, and I think that I was a bit misguided, I actually bought this single LOL! I think this was my first and last foray into anything relating to "Europop", as I was drawn back to the dark side of the rockers hehe!
Anyway, hiding my shame behind a very large brick wall,
Week Sixteen's Song... Eiffel 65 - Blue
I'm blue da ba dee da ba die...
This has to have been the easiest song yet both in terms of the lyrics that Shay chose and also the idea that came to mind, the song says "I'm Blue", I always and instantly again, thought of the smurfs! Pretty obvious huh? I was just playing around with this picture, the first attempt made my eyes hurt as it was all negative and fuzzy, but then I hit on this picture, slightly blurry but kinda spooky in the Smurf Village, Smurfellowen (that's me) is taking a stroll through the village!! Lynnie said it looked kinda spooky and maybe there were Zombie Smurfs. I wonder, if a Zombie Smurf tried to eat your brain how long it would take before you actually felt it, I mean Smurfs were supposed to be kinda tiny right? So would it be like a mosquito bite?? One of life's most thought provoking conundrums that!
