Addicted To Shoes With A Twist...

I love Shoes... There is no doubt about it, I LOVE Shoes and have a collection to rival Imelda Marcos stashed away neat and tidily in my SL warehouse wardrobe.
Granted I will often be seen wearing the same shoes day in day out, and I like anyone can't be blamed for having my favourites, yet when a pair of shoes with a slight novelty aspect land in my field of view I get all giddy like a school girl with a crush.
These Ouija Board Shoes were created by Distorted Dreams for the March round of Horror Haute and they immediately grabbed my attention. I love seeing the different kinds of shoes that people wear, and will be found drooling over all different kinds ranging from the uber-popular to the down right wacky, and these were a pair of shoes that really tickled my fancy.
I love them - the Ouija board designs for the upper textures, with the hugely chunky wooden stacked bases and the brass coloured spikes and buckles, these shoes got me all excited. I KNEW I would be talking about them here... I did want to take a fancy photo modelling them in world, but I couldn't seem to get a shot that let them stand out on their own so a plain simple shot was best for now!
I also wanted to send a quick thank you to Jacinda Bravin - owner of Distorted Dreams - for her brilliant "customer" service... Technically as I was sent these in a blogger group I can't really qualify as a customer but when I contacted her with an issue regarding these shoes, she responded promptly and was very friendly and helpful. It's  wonderful to be treated in such a way...
These shoes will DEFINITELY be coming out of my wardrobe more often... I wonder if the living dead girl in me can use them to make calls? They'd possibly be a new kind of cell phone for the dead?

Rolling or Falling for Horror Haute March

I was planning on posting something Easter related today, getting all 'cuteified' (a Rudh made up word!) and dressed like a bunny, but then I really don't feel in the mood for being cute - as my current in world outfit would attest to - so let me just say Happy Easter and that I hope the bunny brings you enough chocolate to last until his visit next year...
Moving on then I am gonna play at catch-up again for Horror Haute. Today is the last day of this month's Horror Haute line-up and I have a couple more tricks up my sleeve to show you before I try to catch up on my Disney Bounding!
So this outfit was based entirely around this cute rockabilly style dress from DRBC - or DeathRocker Bettie Crocker to use the store's full name - that is patterned with colourful retro hearses. I did think about posing alongside the hearse that HellBone made for our store, but the dress in itself screamed that it needed to be worn somewhere in keeping with its 50's style and I couldn't get my mind away from either a roller disco... I ended up in a 1950s style bowling alley and diner - the Bowl-A-Rama Bowling Center & Ten Pin Alley Mall - where I had a little mishap as I got up out of a booth, wasn't my fault I fell over, I just hope I didn't break my radio!
Another thing that I wanted to mention, though they aren't so clear here and will look better bigger in my Flickr Photostream, are these adorable zipped tights from SongBird. I've had these a while waiting to find the right look for them and they fitted perfectly with the dress. From the front they are plain black but the back detailing is what I love about them, they are zipped, with a break in the zip to reveal a surprise underneath... LOVE THEM!
One more thing to share though, these earrings! Cute Poison made Foxy Earrings for this week's SL Fashion Week, and they really fit this look! They are cute as always with the Cute Poison items, yet they come with this brilliant and simple to use HUD for easy recolouring - for someone like me who can still at times be a bit of a noob this was such a bonus... Have a look at the close up of the earring and it's HUD... I love this - Thank you Sae!

Don't Go Hunting For Witches During Horror Haute!

March Horror Haute has been active for a few days now, but due to my RL circumstances what with me being stuck in hospital I have a list of things waiting to be blogged and because I am still feeling fairly fragile so blogging isn't one of my top priorities right now. Though today I have found some time to sit behind my computer and put together a look or two for this month's round of Horror Haute!
First up this look with the motto - "Don't go hunting for witches in the garden during Horror Haute" - they leave their cages all over the place for unsuspecting living dead girls like Rudh to just stumble into. Personally I blame the talking mushroom that was spouting some random gibberish - a lot like my blog posts then - but the cage itself was too pretty to avoid too... The cage is the white version offered by Nevermore for this months Horror Haute, and I love the fact that it is simple, understated and yet stuffed full of 24 poses. The fact that I took this photo and then made a comparison to the fact that I was stuck in a hospital room for the last four days and that had been a little cage like at times, wasn't something that came up until I'd created the final photo... Neither was the fact that I hadn't really been allowed to have coffee during my period in the hospital either, so this top from The Little Bat really did match my mood on that too... Funny what you notice you've done without realising it sometimes?!
By now you should also know that I love the crazy and dead sort of things, so even though it isn't too clear I am wearing the Zombie Suicide Scar to complete my crazed, caged girl look... I thought that it should be made more obvious, so I've created a simple "look at it" picture too so that you don't miss seeing this cute scar!

Hunting Rainbows

Hunting the rainbows after the rollercoaster that has been the last two weeks is a tiring and dirty job but someone had to do it...
First off the SL stuff - I wanted to show off this outfit created by my gorgeous friend AliceAnn Alter of Lamp*Light. I told her I wanted something with rainbows and this outfit delivered in the form of these awesome rainbow socks, yet there are more things to this outfit than meets the eye. This outfit comes with clean and bloody versions included, but the bloody version is actually a sheer layer to be worn over the top of the actual mesh top and cardigan combo. This layer is modifiable and can be made darker to fit your grungy needs, and then the rest of the outfit offers both clean and dirty versions. I love this outfit, you can wear it as individual pieces or as a complete look!
Though, time for some RL for those of you that wish to know it... Last week HellBone took me to Euro Disney for my RL birthday, it was FRICKKEN AWESOME! I will share details about it in a later post as I have two weeks of SL DisneyBound posting to catch up on, but this week I have been in hospital. I was taken into hospital on Sunday, the reason being that I had gall stones that were causing huge amounts of pain - so bad that I was vomiting because of it. I was given a lot of drugs and had the stones removed yesterday - now I feel a million miles better than I was - but my god it has been a hectic two weeks that have kept me away from all the fun things that SL has to offer. I have a lot to catch up on, I've missed you all, and I can't wait to get back into the swing of things - I might be slow at it, but now I'm hoping to be around a little more!

Lots to Share...

Happy St.Patrick's Day... I was planning on creating a green filled post, and going on about how awesome it would be to drink a pint of Guinness and attempt to dance like they do in the Riverdance - but then I thought "NOPE" we get excited over the Irish day, and the American day in SL but no one really gets too excited over St. David's Day lol - so Bah Humbug, if that could even be applicable, enjoy the day but I'm better off staying out of green anyhow LOL...
I do have something pretty to show you though... Least I think it's pretty... Where is my modesty really?
I never ever made myself a profile photo before - OK maybe I did way back when in the days of old that I was a noob - but since I got myself a FairyBobMother who makes brilliant photos, I never thought that I could create a photo that would be at a standard I wanted to be my profile photo! When I created this photo though, it just seemed to shine from some of my others and so, after discussion with said FairyBobMother, I decided I had a new pf photo... What do you think?
The second thing that I need to share with you is that I won't be around much now until Friday! I don't normally blog much anyway during the week, but Hell is taking me to DISNEYLAND PARIS for 4 days!!! EEEEEH I am so excited! It's my RL Birthday on Tuesday, and I guess my lovely man wanted to REALLY spoil me, I am such a HUGE Disney Fan! I can sum up the amount of excitement in a simple, very short clip from Family Guy lol.. Change the Disney World to EuroDisney, plane to car, and 3 hours to 6 hours and this will be Hell and I tomorrow morning...
I'll see you all when I get back on Friday!

Dragons Born at Gauze

Skin Fair has been open a couple of days now, and what a good fair it is turning out to be... There are so many gorgeous skins, I am going to have trouble choosing the ones I like, yet back before it opened when the bloggers were allowed to run free I stumbled upon the booth of Gauze.
Part of me had already made up my mind that I would be looking more for fantasy skins, as I guess I just kind of felt more than a little confused by the amount of human skins and felt dazed by all the different ones available, yet my mind was made up by two stores - Nomine (who I featured previously) and Gauze.
The Dragon Born skins from Gauze looked gorgeous on the advertisement posters, but when I put one on I was more surprised than anything and actually gasped out loud. The skins are available in four different tones - Dark Orchid (Purple), Sea Witch (Green), Quartz Drows (Silver) and Rust (pictured above) - with each skin tone available in male and female shapes. Yet it is not only the skins, you get these amazing - and tintable - full body tattoos that are reminiscent of the markings and scales I'd imagine you'd see on an ancient dragon. Considering my family-line in SL, it's not hard to see why I was drawn to this set of markings, but what made me smile even more is that these markings looked great on other skins, including my usual human skins... A dragon in hiding perhaps? Maybe not... Yet these skins and markings really did make me smile and feel more than a little bit happy!
I loves the angle of this photo too though, the back of Rudh is something so rarely looked at LOL, yet the markings that run down the spine were too beautiful to leave out of a picture. I know I seem like I am gushing with compliments about this specific creation for Skin Fair, but it really does strike me as one of those things that simply has to be complimented, and why not when something makes me feel this good?! It is definitely worth trying on a demo! These skins are currently only available at Skin Fair 2013, and there are two sims full of skins to tickle your skin fetishes... Skin Fair Sim 1 and Skin Fair Sim 2, don't miss out!

Nomine Fantasy at the Skin Fair 2013

I got very, very, very lucky recently. Some how - I think due to my little sister Morgana - I managed to end up being in the right group at the right time and was allowed in early to this year's Skin Fair. There are some amazing skins to come out of the fair this year - skins that will be an upgrade, skins with a twist and even some fantasy skins which if you know me were flashing at me like a big beacon!
I will admit that I've been watching some of the coverage of the fair, through the bloggers that I follow, but to me it seems that the fantasy skin designers aren't getting the coverage that they really deserve. I LOVE some of the human skins, and drooled over a few, but the fantasy skins in their range of almost lollipop candy colours were something I simply couldn't resist.
Munchflower Zaius, of Nomine, allowed me to be one of her bloggers for the event - you had to apply to individual stores, boy was I nervous in doing so, I seriously didn't think I was good enough LOL - and although I tried taking pictures in a photograph type setting, I ended up in front of a white screen!
First to be shown off, the Aether Skins... Colour fade to white skins for an alternative Demonic look. I love the jewel tones to these skins, as well as the simplicity of the eye and lip make-up so as not to detract from the 6 different fading colours.
Next up, the Mermaids! These are purely and simply put, GORGEOUS! Available in 6 different colours, these mermaids come with a host of things included. Sparkly and non-sparkly skins, with and without tail scales, prim parts for the tail AND animations, I couldn't resist playing around as the little mermaid for a while.
Lastly, my absolute favourite from Nomine - the Chameleons! These skins in their 6 different colours are TOTALLY GORGEOUS and I would recommend them to everyone - try a demo, don't just take my word for it! With these skins, you by the basic colour - a white skin for example - but the design on the body can then be altered by editing your appearance and playing with LL's colour slider on the skin! BRILLIANT HUH?
Now I will admit that this is much more of a fashion style post than normal, but I guarentee that these will be seen again somewhere in the future. For now though I just had to show them off in the clearest way possible - yes they are small here, they will be clearer on my Flickr Photostream so please check them out there... For anyone who loves to create fantasy characters and wear skins that are far from human, you will definitely want to try the demos of these...
Skin fair is over 2 sims this year, and there is a whole host of designers taking part... Maybe it's time you had a skin update? Skin Fair Sim 1 and Skin Fair Sim 2

SL DisneyBound - Week 1

For the last few months I've been looking for something to fill up the hole that the end of the colour challenge has left. I know that many of my fellow colour bloggerettes went onto other challenges, such as the 50 Shades of Sexy Challenge or the Twisted Colour Challenge, yet I wanted something a little different and I guess I got picky... I've done a few one off challenges here and there, and then today I found this...
The SL DisneyBound Challenge - created by Natalee Oodles of Style Minions Blog - is a RL challenge dragged into SL, and it seems like a lot of fun. The basis of the challenge is to use non-costume items to create looks based on characters from Disney Movies... I CAN'T WAIT!
WEEK 1 - PETER PAN!
Disney's Peter Pan... The boy who never grew up! I loved this story, I even refer to my SL house as my Wendy House due to this story!
I like Peter Pan am a kid that never grew up...I'm supposedly a grown up now and I still play with my Barbie Doll... OK she is a virtual doll now days but that's technically what Rudh is to me, my Barbie Doll. Here she is as a "Peter Pan-ish" Rudh - never one to miss playing dress up, I found things in my warehouse wardrobe that seemed to fit the foresty style whilst still keeping a bit of a childish look to it.
I LOVED doing this, thank you so much for setting it up Natalee... Here's to the next 26 Weeks! BRING ON DISNEY CHARACTER NUMBER 2!

Another Icon Maker Thingie...

So, I was on flickr whilst I was "working" the other day... It had gotten a little quiet by the afternoon and I was looking for something interesting to do to waste some time before the next big push of work came in, when I spotted a new square icon made by Iokko Molko...
Intrigued I followed the link to a new Icon creator called the Square Face Icon Generator. I was instantly hooked, I LOVE DOING THESE! That was my quiet afternoon sorted...
Look I made a Living Dead Rudh version... In fact I made all sorts including a kitty Rudh, and a normal faced Rudh and even a totally adorable Kawaii Rudh, but this one was my favourite. The girls in the office all sat around playing with it too and we had a good few hours of giggles creating funny square face cartoons of each other.
My Living-Dead Girl persona in SL is definitely my  favourite, and this is just so adorable that I couldn't resist showing it off... If you make one I'd love to see it!

7 Facts About Rudh!

Saw the challenge popping up in Flickr when I logged in from work this morning, and as I love a challenge - and let's face it being honest I do miss the colour challenge still, should have started the twisted colour challenge - this seemed like something that I would be destined to join in with...
Started by Strawberry Singh - although I found it through the blog of the gorgeous Lianne Boomhauer, the challenge is based on the idea of sharing 7 facts about your avatar or SL that people may or may not know... A Challenge called My 7 SL Facts Meme!
Hmmm 7 facts about me and my SL... This should be easy...
So my list of 7 facts...
1 - I have and no doubt always will wear the same No Mod Shape. If you've read my blog for any length of time you will have heard the saga of my no mod shape, but for those of you that haven't - in a nutshell - I was bought my shape when I first started SL over 6 years ago, and I grew to love my face so much that now no other shape will ever be someone that looks like Rudh... Trust me it gets on my nerves when it comes to buying clothing!
2 - I have never had an alt. I know so many people that have had or still have multiple avatars, the thought of it makes me go a little crazy. I've spent so much time creating my Rudh dolly in the way that I want it that having to start from scratch would scare me a little!
3 - I owe my RL relationship to SL. Hell and I met in SL and have been together now for over 3 years, I even packed up my comfy life in England and moved to be with him in Holland! So to me at least, we've proved that SL to RL relationships do work, and work well!
4 - I don't understand why people want certain RL things in SL... For example TOILETS! Even worse, we once had a neighbour in SL that had a WASHING MACHINE AND DRYER... Seriously if it wasn't torture enough in RL to do your laundry, you can now do it in SL too... Sorry but there is no way in heck I want to be reminded of my RL household chores in the place I come to escape them!
5 - I have an addiction to Gachas, I simply cannot pass one by without peeking at the things they contain, but I have now made it a rule that I will not play on one if I only want a specific item... They just become too expensive to do that otherwise! (BTW - The Arcade doesn't count in that rule, for there it's no rules apply kamikaze gacha playing!)
6 - I feel naked without my piercings. These will change from time to time, but I do tend to wear the same ones for a long while before I switch, and I feel naked - totally exposed - if I am without them.
7 - Although I try to remain calm, I always get a little fan girlie on the inside - though usually on the outside in RL too - whenever I meet designers or bloggers I admire for the first time. Weird part is I know that they are people and are just doing something they enjoy, like I do with my blog, but I admire their talents, have a warehouse full of stuff with their names on it (in the case of designers anyway) and yet there they are standing in front of me looking like a real person LOL...

There you go, now you know a little more about me, and you get to see the oh-so-photogenic look of my Barbie Doll in her oh-so-glamourous mug shot... Now I can't wait to learn more about the people that I love to read the blogs of every day... Thanks Strawberry for setting this up!!!

Escape from the Circus into a Dream

I finally got into the March round of The Arcade yesterday, and granted I could have tried harder to get in sooner, but I was waiting for a shopping date with a gorgeous lady after the first crush to get in had subsided. Waiting till the second weekend it was open might not have been a totally smart idea, it was as busy as other times, but there were so many sparkly things calling my name I simply had to go on a shopping rampage!
Without knowing it, I spent far more than I should have, but I look at it as an investment in my mental well-being, and the photo seems to kind of match the crazy drama that landed in my lap yesterday. I wanted an escape from some RL drama, which in a farcical way was like something akin to a circus complete with a crazy clown, and SL was a dreamlike background to escape to - The Arcade luring me in with its sparkly lights and addictive prizes.
I GOT SO MUCH STUFF! Not a full set of Intrigue Co Plushies or a Rainbow Fortune Teller Ball from A.D.D Andel like I was hoping for, but that bloomin' teapot from Schadenfreude LOL... I got two almost complete sets of that, my friend tried it once and got a teapot... I was not amused LOL - well till she gave it to me that is, then I was like a kid at Christmas!
I've put together a little list of duplicates... If anyone wants them please feel free to contact me about them... I'm willing to trade or be paid for them at the price they are in the machines. Just let me know, please don't hesitate to ask, I wont bite!

Lazing in the Springtime Sun

I did something today that stunned me... I put together an outfit that is so far removed from my normal style that when I looked at myself, I had trouble believing that the avatar standing there was actually me... It's all the fault of the awesome designers of Collabor88...
Basically, I blame the event, but for some reason I just gravitated to all pretty, girlie style... The theme this round is feminine, with lots of pretty spring colours and a good dash of flowers of all shapes and sizes. As always I am drawn like a moth to a flame in the general direction of the Intrigue Co offering, though I got thrown a little as the event space has been altered and opened out, giving a feeling of more space and just a little confusion in regards to "wasn't there a wall there last month?!" I LOVE these sunglasses, I might have to go get them in more colours, but the huge eyelashes really evoke that Hollywood starlet feel, and they are just perfect for a day of lazing in the sunshine. I bought a fair few things but really couldn't resist the HUGE bow scarves from (Yummy) or these pretty flowery jeans from The Sea Hole...
What a great round this time... So feminine, so spring, so scary as it for some reason made me go blond and wear pastels?! Oh and look, I even took out my face piercings... is it weird that I feel naked without them, even when I'm wearing a lot more clothes than I have been known to wear in the past?

A little RandomEncouragement goes a LONG way!

Sometimes, when you are feeling down and in need of a boost - no matter how much your friends and family are there to support you - it is the words of a stranger that will make you feel energized again.
A person by the name of RandomEncouragement sent me an offline yesterday - "You are an amazing person, and a lovely writer. Your blog is well loved. Please don't give up on it. <3" - and I think it was a pick me up that I really needed...
It's a long story, but I now have a feeling of, I guess you could call it, Peace and Happiness?!
Basically last week I had this feeling of BLEH when it came to blogging. Why was I bothering? Did anyone actually care if I posted or not? Did anyone even look? I felt like the voice that I had was being overlooked and if I am being honest with myself it was a bit of a selfish thing because I was slightly disappointed with a lack of response to my blogging voice.
I've always said that my blog is something I do for me, if people don't like it then they don't have to read it and there are plenty of other blogs out there where people can get more of a fashion fix than my rant space. Yet for some reason, I listened to others talking about stuff they were working on and allowed myself to forget the real passion that I have for playing around with photography and letting my thoughts flow freely without restrictions! I let feelings of blah affect the way I think and I was seriously on the point of closing my blog.
I voiced my thoughts to a few, many told me not to give up something I enjoy and suggested that I should either get back on the horse - which I did with my delirious post - or take a break... One even threatened with slappage, if I did something so silly... I'm glad they did... I get up to a lot at the moment, exploring and shopping and the like, but a majority of it is centered around my blog... Where would I be without it?! Yet messages like the one from RandomEncouragement really boost my confidence - especially after being accepted as a blogger for SongBird - I was floating on cloud nine... My blog is here to stay!!!
To the mastermind behind RandomEncouragement... I don't know who you are and don't even want to try to work out if I know you, but you've really made one slightly down-in-the-dumps blogger dust off her blogger brain and get back on track! My mojo is back, and the smile that goes with it too... Thank you for taking the time to send a message as lovely as this, and thank you for being a lovely person in a world that is sometimes less than wonderful to pick people up when they fall! A little Delirious

I'm going bonkers... I can't get into the Whore Couture or The Arcade... Where do all these people that fill these events come from? LOL... Lots of people seem to get into these events, what are the secrets they have that I don't know?! Still, there is plenty of other stuff going on to keep my occupied I suppose... Treasure Hunting for one, although I'm not sure how much hunting it is, seems more like banging my head against a wall repeatedly hunt...
I'm talking about the Twisted Hunt - SL's self proclaimed "hardest hunt", without clues and a myriad of things to trick you - is very addictive and no matter how much I stress, I always love that buzz of being able to find the item I'm looking for...
I stumbled upon a store I'd never heard of whilst hunting yesterday - another awesome thing about treasure hunts you find some amazing stores - SongBird is now one of my favourite stores for fantasy eyes and make-up!
The theme of the hunt this time around is Delirium, and it really does make you feel more than a little delirious when you are searching for all those twisting boxes. Yet some - I haven't checked them all - of the prizes are DEFINITELY worth going a little crazy for. This set of mesh, Delirium swirl eyes and spiral tattoo from SongBird is one of those, I fell in love the moment I saw the ad for them on Flickr and knew I had to have them... Luckily they weren't too hard to find as the store is still small, but they also have a gacha with the eyes in different colours AND tons of other make-up, eyes and skins! I left the store clutching some make up and eyes, and knew I'd found a store I will keep going back to, I love hunting for this reason, and I love it when a store surprises you like that...
Twisted Delirium + SongBird = A Deliriously Happy Rudh, LOL!

What a lovely Horror Haute... OH MY GOSH!

Horror Haute has been running for the past few days, but in the chaos of things I let it slip by and almost totally forgot until last night. Things have been a little bit confusing in the Horror Haute camp as it's usual organiser - Miss Electra Shadowcry - has been having computer troubles, yet it's great to see that without her the ship can still float so to speak.
There were some gorgeous things this month, including a skin from Skindustrial Bodyworks - which talking about it now, reminds me I have to go get, lol - but the thing that made me laugh most when I saw it was the Dead Baby Doll from Del's Odd Shop.
By now you might have guessed I have a love of dead things, but this is creepy on more than one level... First of all its a dead baby - which is just well... Creepy! Secondly, its a SL prim blob dead baby! I get that people want to have babies in SL, there are a whole host of reasons I guess, but personally for me I have ALWAYS found the SL babies more than a little disturbing. The original ones looked like SL Cabbage Patch Dollies, and the newer ones *shudders*. OH and don't even get me started about talking tummies. Seriously if I was pregnant in RL and my stomach talked I would personally get myself checked into a clinic somewhere, possibly screaming "GET THIS THING OUTTA ME!" Each to their own though, but can you imagine the things that a talking tummy which would give birth to this dead, evil baby would say?
I even got down to look at the baby and respond with one of the usual lines, something like "Oh what a lovely baby", but what would you say to the parents of this child...
