Metalheads and Angry Bears

While I was at work this weekend in Amsterdam, I found myself in the midst of a very busy weekend... There are public holidays in many countries, and everyone was enjoying the flowers and the sunshine and the King's Day weekend celebration. Yet there was another major draw into the city, Metallica were playing in the Ajax Arena, two concerts in three days, so the city seemed to be stuffed full of metalheads... I love that I tend to fall into the metalhead style social circles as they tend to be fun, friendly and have the best taste in music... 

I will be a Metalhead Forever, so much so that I'll have it tattooed on my chest for the world to see - thanks to an adorable tattoo from Adora-tions - and I got all dressed up ready for a night on the town. It;s so creepy when I head out though, the Abandoned Corridor - a backdrop from TROPIX - from my apartment to the stairs is so dark and disconcerting... As I slipped out, I heard one of the doors in the corridor click, and an eerie orange light filled the halls... I tried to ignore it and walk away but I felt something creeping up my spine, suddenly someone jumped me, a very Disgruntled Bear - from Tardfish - brandishing a knife attacked and caused me to bleed...

Light the Candles it's time for a Bath

I am so unbelievably tired at the moment, nigh on totally exhausted. The Easter holiday season brings lots of visitors to Amsterdam but it's definitely draining me, I think I need a holiday more than anything else right now... 
Since I've not got that opportunity, I'm going to have to find another way to relax. I plan to curl up under a blanket and watch an episode or two of The Big Bang Theory, but before then it's time for something nice to eat and a long hot soak in the tub... 

Honestly there feels like nothing more relaxing than a dip in the tub, I don't have one at home in RL but everytime I visit my mum and dad it's guarenteed I will take more than one LOL... 
It's the process of the thing I think... Running the water and adding the bubbles, slipping into the warm cosy depths with the only company being your bath duck - like the one I have from KitCat - and the only light being cast by the flickering candles that illuminate the room with a warm glow and often have a luxuriously delicious scent... 
It's days like these that you need to make sure you're lighting the right candles, days like today will not benefit from candles promoting happiness and good will, days like today need candles that are "People Repellent" and perfect for "One of those Fucking Days" - thank you to my new blog sponsor Aardvark for these amazing candles that are part of a "Smells Like" set. The Day of the King

Today is King's Day and it's the 10th anniversary of King Willem-Alexander being on the throne. It feels funny to think that I have been here to see his succession and pretty soon I'll be able to see a new King ascend to the throne in England... 
For those of you that have no idea what King's Day is, and what it means... Basically it a day in which the country celebrates it's nationality, perhaps more than the king's birthday as even people that aren't really in support of the monarchy seem to love a good King's Day celebration... The whole country goes a little orange for the day, there are parties and carnivals, street markets where people sell their unwanted items, foods are shared and enjoyed, and MASSIVE amounts of alcohol is consumed... It's a countrywide party!!! 

In the dark ballroom, I'm celebrating the national holiday of the Netherlands in a truly Dutch way... 
I dressed in some orange and ready to have a party, I've prepared some delicious Dutch Snacks like the Bitterballen - from DRD - a tompouce and a fresh bottle of jenever which is a little like gin and delicious... 
I know that it seems strange but it's the one day a year that I feel closer to being Dutch than normal... I am definitely a bit of a misfit in this country, and I have branded myself as such - with a cute chest tattoo from Adora-tions - I'll always be a Brit, but since we're celebrating a new king soon, and the Dutch are celebrating their current king, I'll happily wear, or perhaps sit in a crown - the Crown Bed from Krescendo - like a royal too...

Nebulous Sparkles in the Darkness

Tomorrow is a day off, I'm super happy and since it's King's Day there will be lots of fun to be had, and I'm ready to get myself to the free market to treat myself to some treasure.. 
Tonight though I'm going to drift off to a place where my mind doesn't need to think, I'll sit and watch the Big Bang Theory and let my mind flicker into it's own Big Bang of sparkles and magic, and enjoy my favourite type of creativity... Something that makes me feel truly happy to look at... 

As always I'll let the darkness lead the way, I love being a little demoness, and the darker I am the happier I feel... The darkness won't engulf my creativity today, I want to allow the lightness and the sparkle to shine through and let myself be pretty for a day... 
The darkness in my demonness is at the centre of the big bang... Mushrooms can make you Silly!

I get super excited when I get to slip off into a fantasy world, I LOVE being a fairy and I love letting my mind wonder. I do feel like if I was a fantasy character, as much as I wish I was able to be a mermaid I think by this point the fairy is much more likely... I LOVE being a fairy, I love the fact they can have so many different personas and I LOVE exploring them all... 
Today I ampining for Autumn, I hate that Summer comes in the middle and I know that maybe I'm in a minority but me and the heat doesn't mix... I love the crisp feeling that comes with Autumn, and the colours that dust the nature... It's also the time of year when you get to meet some of the cutest fairies... It's a season when Mushroom Picking is a hobbie for some, and the fairies like to get in on that action too... 

So when you're out in the woods on a mushroom hunt, make sure you keep your eyes open because flitting around the mushrooms you may find your very own Mushroom Fae... 
She's a sporelicious fae, the fairy of the Woodland Spores and like the rest of her kin has adopted the persona of the Portabella fairy all because she loves the polkadots... 
She's dancing around the forest glad, collecting mushrooms, and getting the giggles as her little Badger buddy decided that he had to dress up to match me...

Find me at the Sunflower Farm

It's been a day off for me today, a MUCH NEEDED day off after the stresses of the weekend, but unfortunately I have to work again tomorrow so I'll just keep on trying to smile and let my mind wander off on an adventure to somewhere much nicer... 
My mind goes on so many adventures thanks to my blogging, some are much brighter than others, and some are much simpler than others... Today I decided that I'd slip off to a gorgeous sunny place, surrounded by the hum of the bees and a smell that's simply devine...

It's not very often that I'm into cowboys, but for that one I'd have made an exception... 
I know that I'd dressed pretty today, I couldn't miss the look on the face of said farm boy when he saw me arrive on the farm, I cannot take all the credit it was the fault of Decoy and the Polina Flow Dress... I was left wondering as to his thoughts whilst I wandered up and down through the rows of sunflowers, until I noticed that same cowboy handing his puppy a bunch of flowers and directing him down the path towards me...

The Game is Over

Today was my day off and I spent the entire day doing not much of anything... I relaxed and did a little house work, but that was all I wanted to do. I didn't want to talk to anyone, I feel like I'm all talked out and if anyone was to bug me today I'd have kicked their butt, it would have been game over... 

Someone messed with the wrong me today... There was some words said, after I'd told him that I wasn't going to be talked to by anyone today, he kept going, he pushed and pushed so I may have accidentally on purposed pushed him down the stairs and dropped a cleaver that bounced and landed somewhere it shouldn't have... 
I warned him, I'd worn a shirt that clearly stated my mood at the moment with the whole "Game Over" slogan, and my kick butt feeling attitude...

Demon of Jormungaad

It's Friday evening, and there have been so many busy things happening today that I want to sleep and drift off to a place that's not Real Life... It's a world full of sparkles, and magic, and the occasional dark force thatsees demons battle the light, taking on the rainbows and prettiness of the fae folk... 
Today the darkness has beaten the light, the demons are winning, they have been battling the monstrous peoplen that walk the streets of Amsterdam at the moment... They are winning... The dark sparkles are drowning me...

4 and 20 Gummies

The month of April has many interesting things that take place in it... It's my Mum's RL Birthday, it can be the month that contains Easter, and it's various events in the Netherlands like King's Day, the opening of Keukenhof and the Flower Parade, but there is one day that many people all over the world enjoy, something that Amsterdam is already known for... Today is 4:20, which means that it's marijuana day.. At 4.20 on 4.20 it's time to get a little HIGH.... 

I wanted to find somewhere to celebrate, so I headed on down to Ethereal City for a trip to The Joint Coffee Shop... I stopped smoking a long time ago now, but there are lots of other things that I could do to particpate and enjoy the 4:20 experience... 
I looked so adorable in my new favourite outfit, that I could be excitedly calling today's Look-of-the-Day... The Draconic Empire

It won't be long now until the Engine Room closes it's doors for the end of the month long opening... The Engines are beginning to slow, and there are monsters, darklings and the steampunk beings shuffling back into the room before the doors close... 
Outside the room, the balcony oozes Southern Charm - available now at Synnergy.Tavis - and it is here on the balcony that we find our Draconian Empress calling in her pets... 

The Draconian Empress - dressed in the most gorgeous of dress of blue silk from Decoy that is available at the Engine Room until it closes on April 20th - stands on the balcony gently whistling into the wind.. Her baby dragon sits on her shoulder but it is the bigger dragons that need to come in from further away, the dragons fly in to disappear with their mistress... Ladies in the Park

Spring is definitely in the air... The sun has been shining, the birds are singing and the flowers are springing up everywhere, it's one of my favourite times of the year shortly following Autumn and I cant wait to enjoy all the prettiness of this season, even though I KNOW that the season of hell aka Summer with all its super charged heat isjust around the corner... Spring is cool, fresh and the colours are vibrant, plus the flowers... All the pretty flowers... I feel like a day in the park... 

The weather is warm enough now that in the sunshine it's fine to go out and enjoy it without the need for a jacket... Summoning Demons

 It's been a few days now but I'm done with working and tomorrow is my day off work... I cannot wait for a day to relax and all I'm planning to do is picture taking... I'm going to have a lovely day of playing with my clothes and making pretties... 
I have a lot to share but I'm not going to rush into things, I'm going to let my inner demonness be drawn into the light, I'll summon her and let her magic decide which direction our creativity will flow... Sometimes she stays in the darkness, others she flickrs into the pretty rainbows of spring... Who knows where we will end up?!

Chocolate Milkshake Goodness

It's Easter Weekend... It's insanely busy for me in RL with work being in the centre of a city that is the home of both a beautiful tulip garden and an exhibit for a world renouned Dutch artist AND in the middle of a school holiday... It's chaos. Today though is my day off before another crazy day in the cheese shop tomorrow, and so I've been taking things VERY easy... 
I'm going to miss bunny day tomorrow since I'm working, and I've decided today to try and get myself full of delicious chocolately goodness. I don't want to eat eggs, but chocolate seems like it needs to be on the menu for every meal this weekend... 

I've set up shop in my kitchen - which happens to be a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - I made sure that I had ALL of the things that I needed to make some of the most delicious coffees. HellBone had one with doughnuts and Smarties, and I opted for Slickers Ice Coffee in place of milk - thanks to the delicious sounding release from Junk Food - with pretzels, chocolate chips whipped cream and brownies to create a Sweet Tooth Peanut Salted Caramel Milkshake... 
So delicious, but I might have used a little bit too much whipped cream, it was so hard to take a sip and I ended up with it all over my nose...

The Engine Room, A Quiet Place To Read!!

Today is Good Friday, and its caused me some definite Eye-rolling moments involving customers being Karens with children that ran wild and ate EVERYTHING that was put out to taste... It drove me NUTS... I needed a chance to get away and once again I drifted off into my mind's fantasy world and headed on an excursion back to the Engine Room. It's peaceful there, I can curl up on a comfy sofa and read the newspaper without being disturbed... 

The Engine Room is lovely and cosy on this cool April Evening, thanks to the gorgeous green tiled stove - from CABALPIER at The Engine Room - filling the room of the Clock Tower - a backdrop from Pitaya - with a warm, snuggly comfort whilst the clicking of the cogs and the dripping within the Mushroom Menagerie - from Ceridwen's Cauldron - creating a lulling sense of ease. 
It was the perfect place to relax, and I even made one of the cutest little friends in the form of the Engine Room's Shiba Inu that brought me the newspaper!

Flowers, Shrooms and Fairies

I know that sometimes I can be fairly random when it comes to my blogging. Some days I've gone dark and others I'm a simple rainbow sparkle queen... I LOVE having variety, I love having the ability to be anything I want and that's why my blog is so therapeutic... 
Tonight I'm going to slip into my fairytale mood, and find myself a a cosy bed to sleep off the stresses of a long hard day. I'll curl up, sleep on a cosy bed of moss amidst the flowers where it's quiet and safe... 

The little fae in me never seems to look the same twice but there is one thing that I can always guarentee on... I LOVE to look cute and colourful... 
I'm so tired though that this seems like the perfect place to curl up and snooze. I love this Shroomy Bed - from Krescendo at FaMESHed - complete with these adorable little mushroom pals that are perfect to cuddle. The glade is softly scented by the beautiful paper flowers - from dust bunny - and the Giant Flowers - from PLAAKA, both of which are available at Anthem - which is filling the air with such a delicious perfume that the Sunny Flower Garden Friends - from Aardvark, also available at Anthem - have decided to join me and the mushrooms whilst we sleep...

Life Goes On

This week is a crazy one due to RL being full of Easter tourists in the city and me having to work in a tourist based Cheese Shop... 
Things in SL have also been getting to me a little bit too... I don't want to whine or grumble or complain, but recently I have been beginning to wonder what I'm doing wrong with my blogging. I work my butt off and try superhard, but this week there had been a collection of rejections for spots in blogging teams - two of which were straight out No, the other was an addition to a waiting list only to be rejected a little later on... Each little rejection, chipping away at my self-esteem, and a backwards slide into thoughts of "why is that person able to get more likes than me?" It's a feeling that I'd been trying to get over, a feeling that I was succeeding in getting past, but three rejetions in a day feels like a total slam in the gut.... 
I needed a moment step away, take a breath and try to get back on track...  

Out on the rooftop - which is actually a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - I looked perfectly glam, all prepped for a picture that I'd been planning to take, wearing the most adorable of outfits including an item from a store that I'd been rejected by, to take a secret smoke break... 
Looking out at the city lights, noticing how they twinkle against a starryback drop of the night sky, taking a deep breath made me find some perspective. It helped that I was contacted by a friend who made a suggestion that I applied for an Event she was a part of... Within a few hours, there was a boost me trying to increase my positivity with an acceptance and a chance to try something new...
By the end of the day, I felt better... My blog is my therapy, my happy place and my place to express myself. If I get rejections that just means that I am not what the designer is looking for, that doesn't mean I am bad at what I do. There are plenty of people out there, there are plenty of people that LOVE what I do, and that's a part of my therapy process that makes me happiest. I realised thinking about it, Life Goes On and I amhappy to see where it goes and what willcome my way...

Nom Nom Cafe Library Gardens

There are so many places in SL that are wonderful to explore. Places that are fairytales, places that are another world, places that are educational and even places that are for those with certain tastes which others may or may not share, yet when I heard that my amazingly, awesomely, wonderful Best Friend of a million years had created a place for people to gather, hang out and enjoy somewhere peaceful, I couldn't wait to see it... 
Today I managed to sneak off from everything I was doing and take a peek, it was lovely to be welcomed to the Nom Nom Cafe Library... 

The whole location is totally and utterly gorgeous. My Booboo has always been amazing at decorating, I've always admired the plaes that he creates, but now thanks to his beautful Nom Nom Cafe everyone gets a chance to enjoy it too... There are things stuffed into all of the little nooks and crannies in this place, meaning that wherever you look there is something to see, and no matter how many times you cam over a place you will definitely see things that you missed before. It's beautiful... 
It's also a safe and welcoming place for the LGBTQ community, but everyone is welcome so long as you can be nice. There are plenty of places to sit with friends, or a loved one, to enjoy the peace, the tranquility and the beauty of the place... While I was visiting I enjoyed the flowers so much, that I hope my booboo doesn't mind me picking some of the flowers to take home to remind myself of my new favourite place. I might have picked more than a few, making myself a wreath for my hair as well as a posy for the window sill...

Getting Dirty at the Corner of Pleasure

I've been such a good girl recently, and what with the crazy busy work schedule that I've had I've had no chance to let my hair down and let the naughty girl inside me out to play... 
Since it's been such a long week and it's only Monday, I feel like I need to do something a little reckless and have a desire to do something a little kinky... I'm going to head on out to take in a Peep Show, maybe I could even be a part of the entertainment... 

At the Corner of Pleasure - which happens to be a backdrop from TROPIX - the party is now over and there was definitely a lot of fun to be had... The cash that was thrown around litters her exit, she should could stop to pick it up but that would take too much time and after getting so dirty as to stand up to her branded tattoo - which happens to be a Thigh-Mixer tattoo from Adora-tions - she was given a participation gift in the form of an amazingly soft Bondage Bear - from Dots - and sent home for a nap! 
There are so many pretty things in this picture, but I have to point out my amazing nose piercing set. It is fairly hard to see in the main picture that I had to share a little close-up. It's an adorable "Love Bug" piercing set from Six Feet Under that is of the amazingly high quality in the same way their products always are...

Abandoned Puppies in an Alley

I've done working this week, after today I have two full days off and I cannot wait to relax and rest up and prepare for another 4 day work stretch at the end of the week... 
I feel like I might need to find myself somewhere new to hideout. As I was wandering around the city on the way home from work, I spotted some sad, new, little friends that had been abandoned in a cardboard box... The poor little babies are waiting and hoping that someone will find them and take them home, I think perhaps this time I might join them... 

After the week that I've had I think I need to find someone who will look after me... I'm fully house trained, and all it would take is a mountain of blankets, lots of delicious snacks and perhaps a cuddle or two... I don't require much. ALSO, I need the person that takes me home to take my puppies with us, I'm not leaving them out in the cold overnight, my little Box Buddies - from Tardfish, available until April 20th at The Warehouse - it's me AND the Puppies...

Meeting Friends On Farm Lane

Had finally been able to have a day off, somewhere that I could laze about and relax in my jammies with a cuppa tea and a fuzzy blanket, but that didn't stop Rudh from needing to get out into the fresh air and stop to smell the flowers. 
It was decided that I've been going into the city too much and needed a day in the countryside. Somewhere that the air is fresh, the flowers are springing up as an early sign of Spring and it's not only the flowers are new to the sunlight... 

I'd been walking through the rural landscape, and saw the prettiest of flowers - plants in a bundle from kotte, available until April 10th at Kustom9 - that I had to pick a couple of blooms to take home as a momento of my happy day... I was happily humming along, wandering down a Farm Lane - which happens to be a new backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - when I noticed that I wasn't alone... Turning I noticed that I must have made one of those rookie countryside mistakes, apparently I'd left the gate open and one of the farms new babes had slipped through the gap and followed me down the lane... Momma looked on through the gate, ensuring the safety of her little calf, somehow knowing the city slicking, cow girl would find a way to see her baby home...
