A Dark Day at the Beach

Everyone and their aunty seemed to be flocking to the beach yesterday as it was supposedly the best place to see the Eclipse that happened last night... I should have gone, I should have tried to participate but I just felt like crap and while I was in my PJs I missed the event as the sun was hidden behind a building on our street... It's fine, for me I feel like the sun has already gone, and the Summer can quite frankly sod off now... I'm done with the heat... I cannot wait for the Brrrrr months! 
Still I realised that I haven't been to the beach this Summer, I haven't felt the sand between my toes and the cold waves rushing to meet me... So maybe I need to rectify that situation a little bit?! 

Apparently it's going to be another scorchingly hot day today and I'm REALLY not a fan of that... Like I said, roll on the Brrr months! Dark little Living Dead me, really isn't a fan of being too hot... I'd much rather be too cold and wrap up under a ton of blankets! The beach and I are just not really friends because of that LOL... 
It really is too fecking hot today, the beach will be the coolest place, least one can hope anyway!!!

Farmers Market for Lunch

It's been the last of my days off for the weekend, and I am ready to go back to work this week.. Just 4 more days until I can go back to England and right now that seems more important than ever as Mum has been in hospital and I'm worried about her... At this rate, the real reason for going now will be a whole lot less wonderful and a whole lot more scary other things... 
I wanted to try and have a day to relax as I waited for news, I decided that since I'm living on the farm I was going to get out and see the countryside... 

I stopped at the Meadow Market, a gorgeous little farmers market - which is a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - and stopped at the Mobile Bakery and grabbed myself some Junk Food in the form of a Deli Sandwich filled with cheese and pickles and salad! The jalapeno chips look like I should grab a bag of those too... OOOOH and they have a blind date with a book stand... I've always wanted to try those, though I worry if I get a book I've already read I'll be a little disappointed LOL...

I wanna be an Easter Feaster!

Easter Monday has always felt like a weird one for me, WHY is there a second day of Easter? I know that for religious reasons Good Friday is supposed to be the day he died, and Easter Sunday was when he was resurrected don't ask me for more details I don't know a lot more than that, I'm sorry... Yet, WHY IS EASTER MONDAY A THING? I'd never complain about extra days off work but hmmm... Christmas has a second day, which we often refer to as Boxing Day - and yes I KNOW the historical reason for that in the UK at least - Easter has two days... When can we start having time off for two days of Halloween?! 

Yet I guess it's just another day to relax, spend time with family or friends, or even on your own like I did a lot of today, and enjoy the treats of the day before just a little bit longer... Easter Monday was always a time to enjoy the eggs that I didn't get to eat on Easter Sunday because we'd spent it at our Grandparents as a little kid... Mum and Dad used to make an excellent family lunch and it was better than the day before because we could be relaxed and not expected to be on our best behaviour lol... 
I wanted an Easter feast for lunch today... I think I got a little carried away. I made sure there was Easter Cakes - thanks to Junk Food - some delightful little Butterfly Sandwiches - from Lucas Lameth - which really helped with the Spring feel to lunch, and even some Hot Cross Buns - from vespertine - that happen to be some of my favourite Easter treats from home... There was plenty of chocolate and loads of eggs too... Perfect for the picnic that I set up on the table in the garden... So perfect that even the little birdies came to visit and join in the fun...

Tulip Season!

The sun has been shinging so much lately and it really feels like feels like the Spring has finally sprung  around here. I love all of the flowers that seem to be popping up, and brightening up the world and I SERIOUSLY think there are so many peopleout there that need to stop and smell the flowers. The world is a scary place right now, and things are chaos and it's more than a little scary. We all need to stop and smell the flowers... 

One of the best places to get themselves a lovely place to stop and smell the flowers is very close to where I am currently living... The area surrounding the farm I'm staying on is surrounded by row upon row of tulip fields apparently. I'm waiting to see all the colours pop, everything looks a little too green at the moment... 
I'm going to wait until it's just right and then head out into the fields to get myself one of those instagram pinterest style aesthetic photos... 
If I can't in RL then I may well just do it in Second Life... I have the perfect outfit all ready, a cute little Posy Set - from miss chelsea, available until March 30th at Anthem - and I'm ready to stop and smell the flowers, making sure that I have some to take home...

Moving all that Emotional Baggage

This week and next are CRAZY busy weeks in my RL. From February 26th, HellBone and I don't have access to our house in RL because we are having some MAJOR rennovations done that are necessary and we HAVE to get things done. SO, HellBone and I are tidying, packing, sorting and prepping not only ONE but TWO places because luckily for us, my boss was willing to let us live on one of their properties... I have large amounts of anxiety over my roughly 6-month temporary relocation, but for now I'm just getting things ready... 

Every time I have a day off it's like the typical Moving Day scene - a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - there are boxes and cleaning supplies and mess everywhere... It's not just the stuff though, it's all the emotional baggage that I'm carrying - represented so perfectly by The Bearded Guy's What I Carry box - that is making this harder. I am exhausted, I am running on high anxiety and I can feel the clock ticking in a count down to when we are needing everything done and ready by... The cat isn't helping too as she's stressing while the house empties around her and she screams at the top of her little lungs in the voice of her people... I wish there was more hours in the day, just a few hours more then I'd be able to have a proper dinner, rather than just some pizza in my mouth as I dash past... Although Mouth Pizza is flipping delicious...

Sorry, but I'm Keeping the Ring!

It's almost the month of Love, well technically unlike Christmas or Halloween, Valentine's shouldn't get a whole month as it's halfway through and therefore we suffer less with it perhaps?! I shouldn't complain, I've had HellBone for the last 15 Valentine's but meh, it's such a boring holiday lol... 
All that trouble rejecting the (Non) Valentines that I get every year - it makes me laugh since I NEVER actually get one, even from the hubby - but it's such a chore LOL... I might as well get started early... 

Now I am no fool, I don't need all of these romantic gestures and gifts, BUT since the trouble was taken to choose and give me these things, it would be rude of me not to keep them and put them to good use... 
I'll write them a nice letter back and may even take pictures of me posing with some of the pretty gifts like this fabulous diamond ring that was sent as "The Promise" - which is actually a release from Boutique #187 for DUBAI until February 15th, and there are SO MANY different options for what you want the card to say... Such a fun idea for this time of year don'tcha think? - and it's a promise I'm going to have to make him break with a well written note of thanks...

A Day on the Beach!

The Summer has officially seemed to arrive in the Netherlands over the past few days... I'm not a fan of the Summer, especially here... When you're on holiday and it's a warm, dry heat then it feels wonderful on your skin, but here in the Netherlands it's HUMID and becomes like a sweat box the moment you walk out the door... I hate it when it seems to get trapped inside the house... I NEED to get out and find somewhere to breathe... 

I love being out in Nature, I LOVE the cooling breeze and the feeling of natural sunlight, although like a vampire I tend to keep to the shadows the vast majority of the time... I wouldn't mind being on the beach right now though. I would love to spend the day darting in and out of the waves, playing with a bucket and spade o build sandcastles or use them for holding onto other things - like the one Rudh has full of drinks like the Beach Drinker bucket, available now from Dots at Kustom9, or the Castle Toy Bucket, from Krescendo currently available at the Amsterdam Event - while I hide in the shade...

Let's make today F*cking Perfect!

I have had the day off today and it's been lovely... I had planned to get a few things done but that was NEVER going to happen considering the mood that I was in. I have been in a bit of a meh place when it comes to blogging lately, I am and may still be in a bit of a rut for a while, but for some reason I just cannot get myself into the game... I'm sorry for that... I am trying, and will keep trying, and today I had to force myself to get into the right mind set... 

I decided to get myself into some blogging and try to pass the blogging rut... I had on an outfit that made me feel a Marie Antoinette gone modern, Pink Ladyish Barbie... I have been living in this outfit and felt that it NEEDED to be shared and it could definitely help me make the cogs start moving... 
The outfit started because of the top from the Elyn Set - from miss chelsea - with a few perfectly placed accessories and some tight black pants... It was a great start, and I decided that another great start would need something to sustain me I went onto the terrace at the Delmonte Villas - a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - where I helped myself to a Fucking Perfect Small Cup of Coffee - which was released by Boutique #187 at Astrophe - lit a cigarette and then played the game of what jam would I have on my fresh croissant... It's King's Day 2025!

Today is King's Day in the Netherlands. Normally it's held on April 27th, which is the actual day of King Willem-Alexander's Birthday, but since it's a Sunday and he doesn't wanna work we're all celebrating today... I joke I think it's a religious thing, but that does mean I get today off as the shop I work in is shut and I'm not complaining about it LOL... What is King's Day? What happens on King's Day? For those of you that have no idea, now I'm about to fill you in on the fun... 

King's Day, or Koningsdag to use it's real name, is a celebration every year for King Willem-Alexander's birthday... It can be lots of different things for different people, but most consider the day a party. Where I live in Zaandam, we have a Fair full of rides, snacks and amusement arcade games, and there is a free market where people are able to just set up in the park and sell their unwanted stuff... 
Hubby and I went over for a walk and I found a few treasures to make myself happy, and we picked upsome Olibolen which are like doughnut balls covered in powered sugar, and are DELICIOUS when hot and fresh... 
Along with the lesson I felt it was only right to share a few Dutch Snacks like some hot Snert or Pea Soup, a few Bitterballen and Gouda Bites and even some Hollandse Maatjes, that's Herring to those who don't speak Dutch, washed down with a shot of Jenever, as a picnic by the windmills in a tulip field...

A Delicious Easter Brunch

Yesterday was Easter Sunday and we saw a visit from Easter Bunny who filled my home with chocolates and yummy things, and today the Easter feeling continues as it is Easter Monday... 
For those that follow Christianity or Catholicism, this weekend has been one of spiritual importance, made a little sadder this year due to the death of the current Pope. For people like me it's more about the adorable Easter Bunny and his delicious Easter treats...
Today, HellBone and I have finally had some time for a delicious Easter brunchfast... 

The Easter Bunny did us a MASSIVE delicious brunchfast, with all the lovely things he brought... 
There were some amazing Hot Cross Buns - from vespertine - which are a staple for me for Easter Breakfasts from when I was growing up in the UK and they are something I dearly miss now that I don't live there. The bunny wanted us to have them with chocolate and ice cream, which seemed weird but I'm willing to give everything a go... There were dippy eggs to eat with toast and croissants, and MASSES of chocolate in the form of chocolate bunnies, my favourite tiny chocolate eggs and some of the delicious Junk Food Primbury Eggs - HellBone is addicted to the real Cadbury's Creme Eggs and these are the closest I've found in SL...

What To Wear?! What To Wear?!

One of my favourite things about blogging, something that I've often said before, is that I LOVE being able to create characters and come up with some weird and wonderful stories... I LOVE that side of blogging and will do it often... Sometimes it's a case of opening my wardrobe doors and throwing things together... It's like creating some crazy, fun disguise to slip into to change my mood and make everything brighter... 

Sometimes it's a blessing, others it's just a way of making life seem difficult LOL... Today was one of those days. Bathtime for the OwlBears

I've been off work today because I have terrible pain running up and down my back. Any time I took a step it was like lightning ran down my right leg. Hubby was looking after me but I was able to take it easy and things are maybe getting better... I've put off doing my chores, I've put off doing anything besides relaxing and reading a book and taking a long hot shower... 

Rudh on the other hand had a few things to be getting on with... Chores to do around the house and tasks she'd offered to help with because they seemed far too cute not to... That was why she found herself in the Gothic Attic Skybox - a creation by LORE for Midnight Order - of the grand old wizard, to assist him on Owlbear wash day... The wash station was set-up on his Potions Station - which is a cute creation from ChiMia also for Midnight Order - and he had gathered his Owlbears - which are a release from Aardvark, also for Midnight Order - ready for their bath...

Welcome to Gingerbread Town

 I want to find the Christmas magic... It still seems to be evading me a little bit, and I am more excited by the fact that a couple of days after Christmas I get to go home to see my parents and my sister and see her new house... I CANNOT WAIT!!! Maybe that's where my festive magic will be, maybe that's the time I am waiting for, and right now maybe once the big day will arrive I'll suddenly be feeling it... 
Still until then, I will do whatever I can to find that festive feeling... Even let my mind take me to far off, and maybe imaginary places... 

Some place like the magical little town of Gingerbread... Mostly everything here is gingerbread... There are chocolates and cake and Candy Canes too, if you're peckish please feel free to try the trees. Today has been a busy but lovely day... I got to see my mum for a few hours when her cruise docked in Amsterdam - she said my tour was much nicer than the one offered by the cruise operators - and then after a very hectic morning, I came home to relax... I had a shower, got into something comfortable and promptly took a nap. I'd been planning to read, but I only managed a few pages before I passed out... 

Nothing like curling up with a good book, I LOVE reading under a blanket with a cuppa... I've been reading so much this year, and I realised the other day when I didn't get a chance to read before bed that I had trouble falling asleep... 
Like I said though, being in my jammies, with a good book, a cup of tea or coffee and my darling pussy cats - like the Bat-titude and Arachno Cats from Aardvark at the current round of ACCESS - can make everything better. In this case, I'm sat with a voodoo doll friend of mine whilst I look through the Necronomicon as the mess of my desk wasn't revealling the information I needed it too... Not even my Pendulum Prediction Board - from MadPea, available until November 10th at Kustom9 - wasn't able to find the answers...

The Eve before Star Wars

Tomorrow is considered a special day for some, it's one of those recently made up holidays but in our house it is fairly important... Tomorrow is May the Fourth, or to give it's full title "May the Fourth be with you"... It's Star Wars Day. There is another important day here too as it's Dodenherdenking, or Remembrance Day, which of course came first, and it's not something that we forget... But it's Star Wars Day, Hell is the biggest Star Wars fan and we couldn't pass it by... 

Since it's been a long hard few days, things have been crazy busy, it's time to head to the break room on the Death Star, which you have to get to by passing through the Cryo Chamber - a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - and party like the Dark Side is going out of fashion... I've often wondered what it would have been like if Leia had been kept with her father and taken to the Dark Side, I think she'd have trouble batteling the light and it would cause her to become a bit of Rebel anyway... Dying her hair, but keeping her amazing buns - like those in the wig from Ayashi - and grabbing herself one of those giant Mucho Margarita's - from Junk Food. It was so hard to choose what to drink though, the Storm Troopers make the most epic cocktails, I think my next drink will be the Chewie Cotton Candy drink... 
It's so hard to choose, but whatever happens, May the fourth be with you tomorrow...

Buying Flours and Baking Cookies!

Sundays are often regarded by many as lazy days, I like to look at them as days when I can relax and rest and find some time to do my own favourite things to relax... Many times that involves things in SL whether that's taking pictures or shopping, reading a book or watching something random on the television. Although there is one thing that I don't ever really try my hand at, and that is baking... I can cook like a boss, but when it comes to making the sweet delicious stuff, I tend to burn it no matter what I try to do... I'd love to be able to bake a tray of cookies, I'd love to be able to be a cupcake queen... I wish I had that power... 

I mean who wouldn't love the idea of being able to say "I'm hungry, I'm going to whip up a batch of cookies", I wish I could do it, but maybe on the other side of things it's a good thing that I can't because even thinking about it makes me add on the calories... 
I want nothing more than a HUGE plate of freshly made cookies, hot out of the oven on a Cookie Tray - from Junk Food - that I'm holding onto with the coolest of Oven Mitts - also from Junk Food. Honestly things were bound to happen, I HAD to have cookies or make something sweet since the day after Valentines I'd been out and treated myself. I bought myself a LARGE Box of Flours - a past gift from Aardvark at the recently closed Valentine Shop & Hop - I done it singing the song by Miley Cyrus, dancing around the kitchen as I turned those flours into cookies and cakes and other delicious treats...

It's A Brand New Year!!

For the first time in 2023, I've been able to log into Second Life and spend some time getting my creative juices flowing. I'm finding myself feeling positive in the thoughts of being able to start creating pretty pictures, and assisting myself to grow, to shine and to allow myself to become the best possible me that I have been. 
It's time to stop and pause, to think back now that the dust has settled and that the partying hangover has subsided... It's time to evaulate what has been and what could be... 

On a Cozy Balcony - a backdrop from FOXCITY - as the party has died down, and the mess is not just a little but actually a lot, I had to stop and grab myself a last bottle of Champagne and the only clean Champagne glass - which is actually a Champagne Set from Junk Food - and have one last drink before bed... 
My mind slipped over the year that has passed, and this time last year was such a different place that I'm in right now. This time last year I was healing from a major operation to remove a flesh eaing bacteria, follwing which I spent about 5 solid months barely getting out of bed while things healed... Later in the year, along with many other British people I found myself mourning the loss of Queen Elizabeth II, as it was like losing a grandparent... 
Around the same time renovations started on our house, and all hell broke loose. We ended up with a GIANT HOLE in the back of our house and no-one to do any work, until Hell took matters into his own hands. 
It has been a LONG HARD year, and things have been pretty nightmarish, but I made it through and I've never felt better. I'm doing well at work, I've been losing weight and I'm feeling like my mind is in a good place. I look forward to the new year, I raise a glass for positivity, for prosperity and for a healthy and happy new year...

Time to get Wrapping...

Christmas is a week away now, and there is SO MUCH left to do... I have only just started decorating for the Holiday season and have a lot of that to do in both SL and RL, I have grocery shopping and cleaning to do, and I have about a million gifts that need wrapping. Where the heck do I start... There's a lot to do... 
I guess I'll start with the wrapping... I'll put on a few good Christmas tunes, I'll have a little bop and get covered in ribbons, glitter and cellotape... 

So many gifts to pack up... Mail Delivery - from Atelier Burgundy - has been coming every day, and I have gifts for all of my friends and family and fur babies that now need to be wrapped up... Stanley the Snowman - from friday - and a matching Scarf - from Half-Deer - for my sister, something to remind my dad of his favourite caravanning past-time - the snow globe from Dahlia at Collabor88 - though I wonder if the gift I got for HellBone is a little bit too easy to guess in it's Obvious Wrappings - from Lagom - but then again, that doesn't matter... I'm sure he will love it...

Using Christmas Gifts to Seduce Me

Around this time of year, everyone starts to send out their pretty, couply Christmas Cards with well wishes for the holidays and into the new year. I have been planning on getting somethign cute and couply done with HellBone, but then there are so many pretty, but rather risque poses out there that he'd never be happy posing in... I needed to find help, someone I know lives on the risque side of life, someone I feel safe and comfortable to bare all and lower my inhibitions with, and someone that means a lot to me since I was thinking of one of those cutesy Christmas card pictures in the darkest corners of my mind... 

The obvious choice had to be Deangelo, a man who has been a rock for me since we met over 15 years ago. Our relationship has changed over the years, but no matter how far away from each other we drifted, we have always been watching out for each other. He's protective of me, and I of him. He is someone that knows the real me, the truth behind my sparkly facade and he's supported me on so many occasions that I have lost count so many times over... 
I asked him to celebrate Christmas a little early with me this year, I made sure I was wrapped up in ribbons so that he would enjoy the unwrapping of the gifts as I asked him to Seduce Me - thanks to a pose from Secret Poses. I wanted to test out Santa's toys for naughty girls that had been left for me in the stockings over the fireplace - by LEMME -, and on the festive Tree Toy Rack - from Krescendo - to see which one will bring the biggest smile to the face of this Ho Ho Ho!

The Engine Room is just the start of the Adventure!

You may know that I have a guilty pleasure in watching all different kinds of ghost hunting shows, but when I'm watching TV with my other half it can be hard to find something that we both want to see...  Dr Pimple Popper is an addiction, and we're excited about various new series, BUT we both love to watch the show Expedition Unknown with Josh Gates... All the adventures he goes on, and the archaeological aspects excite me, I've always wanted to go on a big adventure, I'd love to see some of the things that he gets to see... I'm going to let the Engine Room be the start of the journey...

I'm going to plan my journey in the warm luxury of the Clock Station - a backdrop from Synnergy - Lounge where the furniture is made from a gorgeously comfortable Barrel Set - available from Krescendo at ALPHA - and I dressed for the part, a Steampunk styled version of Indiana Jones... Ready to set off on a Steampunk Adventure - in my Art&Ko dress, with my Ministry floppy hat - people tried to warn me that it wouldn't be safe. That handling the Crystal Visions Orb - a pose prop in the full body pose set by piXit - was dangerous, but they didn't realise I'd be wearing my Barclay Hands - from Wicca's Originals - luckily the steampunk prosthetic helps me to grip the orb without threat of it's mystical powers...
