Bunny Washing Day

Today was my last day at work before my vacation starts tomorrow. Tomorrow I'm heading to see my family in England and it's definitely not going to be the easiest of visits home... I am worried about a lot of things, but for right now I'm just ready to slip away from reality... 
For right now, this is my last day at work and I'm going to work as well as I can...  

It's a day at the Bubble Blvd - which happens to be a backdrop from FOXCITY for the current round of Collabor88 until July 6th - and it's bunny washing day as the Cottontail Cruiser - cute little companions from everfaery at equal10 - Biker Gang was in town and needing a way to sparkle and cool down all at once... 
I was perfectly willing to assist them pre-soak, until I got tangled in one of the hoses at the Bubble Blvd - which happens to be a top set created by Rosary in collaboration with the FOXCITY Backdrop release! 
It all went down hill and I ended up soaked after that LOL...

It's King's Day 2025!

Today is King's Day in the Netherlands. Normally it's held on April 27th, which is the actual day of King Willem-Alexander's Birthday, but since it's a Sunday and he doesn't wanna work we're all celebrating today... I joke I think it's a religious thing, but that does mean I get today off as the shop I work in is shut and I'm not complaining about it LOL... What is King's Day? What happens on King's Day? For those of you that have no idea, now I'm about to fill you in on the fun... 

King's Day, or Koningsdag to use it's real name, is a celebration every year for King Willem-Alexander's birthday... It can be lots of different things for different people, but most consider the day a party. Where I live in Zaandam, we have a Fair full of rides, snacks and amusement arcade games, and there is a free market where people are able to just set up in the park and sell their unwanted stuff... 
Hubby and I went over for a walk and I found a few treasures to make myself happy, and we picked upsome Olibolen which are like doughnut balls covered in powered sugar, and are DELICIOUS when hot and fresh... 
Along with the lesson I felt it was only right to share a few Dutch Snacks like some hot Snert or Pea Soup, a few Bitterballen and Gouda Bites and even some Hollandse Maatjes, that's Herring to those who don't speak Dutch, washed down with a shot of Jenever, as a picnic by the windmills in a tulip field...

The Day of the King

Today is King's Day and it's the 10th anniversary of King Willem-Alexander being on the throne. It feels funny to think that I have been here to see his succession and pretty soon I'll be able to see a new King ascend to the throne in England... 
For those of you that have no idea what King's Day is, and what it means... Basically it a day in which the country celebrates it's nationality, perhaps more than the king's birthday as even people that aren't really in support of the monarchy seem to love a good King's Day celebration... The whole country goes a little orange for the day, there are parties and carnivals, street markets where people sell their unwanted items, foods are shared and enjoyed, and MASSIVE amounts of alcohol is consumed... It's a countrywide party!!! 

In the dark ballroom, I'm celebrating the national holiday of the Netherlands in a truly Dutch way... 
I dressed in some orange and ready to have a party, I've prepared some delicious Dutch Snacks like the Bitterballen - from DRD - a tompouce and a fresh bottle of jenever which is a little like gin and delicious... 
I know that it seems strange but it's the one day a year that I feel closer to being Dutch than normal... I am definitely a bit of a misfit in this country, and I have branded myself as such - with a cute chest tattoo from Adora-tions - I'll always be a Brit, but since we're celebrating a new king soon, and the Dutch are celebrating their current king, I'll happily wear, or perhaps sit in a crown - the Crown Bed from Krescendo - like a royal too...

Washing it all Away

Hair Fair is now over... This year was a really great one and soon they will be able to tell everyone just how much money was raised on behalf of Wigs for Kids, but it's time to get ready for something new. A new week, a new day and the best way to start a Monday morning is to jump in the shower and sing your little heart out...
I know that the picture seems a little sad, I've been going through a lot lately and I'm sure that I will be able to find the strength to at least give a little insight soon, yet for now I'm going to wash all my troubles away - or as I'm singing "Wash it all away" it provides more meaning at the moment I guess - and start my week with a smile! 

This hair is one of my last Hair Fair releases that I want to share with you, now that the event is officially over I'm sure it will be brought to the store but I couldn't resist this adorable style from Argrace. I love the hair that Argrace makes for editorial use, you wouldn't necessarily want to wear this out on the street but in pictures like this it's PERFECT! Plus it was a 100% Donation item to the charity so I really couldn't resist... 
Now that the fair is over though I'm going to wash out my hair and let it dry before styling into some other random crazy do! I just wish I'd washed my make up off first, Mascara hurts when it gets into your eyes - Running Mascara by ARISE and Smeared Lipstick by Izzie's by the way - luckily the warm water is washing the sting away leaving glistening droplets on my skin - also courtesy of Izzie's.
For now though it's time that I dry myself off and make myself pretty, the world is calling and I need to go buy catfood LOL...

Sundays are Lazy Days

Sunday Morning... Gotta love those... Times for being lazy, putting your feet up and resting before the beginning of the crazy week ahead. Thankfully I am feeling much better than I have been as of late, and am finally ready to rock 'n' roll - about freaking time too... Though as it is Sunday, I plan on having a very relaxing day, a day without HellBone as he is in RL with the B.A.C.A and I am left alone with the dog and cat...
I think it makes for a perfect PJ day, during which I will no doubt read some, watch some tv - perhaps even as I did when I was a kid I will watch Sunday Morning Cartoons - and chow down on lots and lots of cereal!!! Maybe I'll even let Rudh in on the act! 

She was already dressed when I found her this morning, but I have to admit that I am a little jealous... The lucky bugger popped open a new box of Lost Junction's Berry Princess Cereal - that she had bought at the new Arcade this month - and she won the prize... A Fairy Wand no less... Lucky Bugger! 
Her outfit today makes me laugh though, looking fairly casual in her favourite yellow Blueberry shirt, she seems to have had a little accident! 
The Wooden Leg - a Poisoned Diamond creation - she has on, I am not sure if she is pranking me or if she had a nasty accident in my absence, but at least she colour coordinated it perfectly with her new Handstitched Leather Leggings from lassitude & ennui... 
A lazy day in both RL and SL, sounds like heaven doesn't it!!! Hope you enjoy your day even if you aren't able to be in your PJS!!!

Through the Keyhole

With Rudh what you see is what you get, I'm a barbie doll but in everything else I am the same as I am in RL. I act the same, I talk the same and she has my emotions... So after all this time in the crazy mixed-up world that is SL, why do I still find myself surprised by the actions of others? People hiding behing their avatar, barely a faint glow of their real personality coming "through the keyhole"... Now I will admit - and have no trouble in doing so - that what you see through my keyhole may not be as glam or as barbiefied as Rudh, but she is a part of me. The way people hide behind their avatars does baffle me a little, especially when they feel it's OK to tell a total stranger to die... Would they do that in RL? What brings people to feel they can be harsh to someone just because they are anonymous? What would you see looking through their keyhole?!

Through Rudh's Keyhole today I'm going to let you into the darker and more sordid areas of her mind... It's time for a special kind of party hehe...
Lingerie clad, and heels on her feet, she clings to a bottle of Champagne while she lures you into the darkness...
One of those areas of my brain that never gets accessed very often, the darker and seedier side, but this prop just screamed a little dark and seedy - A Keyhole prop from Exposeur let me create this shot... I added the contents of the keyhole myself, so I wonder what would I see in your keyhole?! - especially when you think of the people that hide behind their avatars and act like children... What they don't realise is that OK they are "playing" a horrible character in SL, but that would actually say a fair bit about their RL attitude as well surely... A dulled down version perhaps, but it's hard to keep up a game for too long, and you will one day reveal your true self... Maybe when someone is looking through the keyhole!

He doesn't need a Maid...

Sticking with the theme of cleaning today, as I am sitting at work trying to work out exactly what I still need to do at home before the Royal Visit.
It seems to be affecting my photos too, funny how the things that are on my mind end up being the things that are shared here in SL photos hehe... I will admit though that the cleaning posts I've been working on are MUCH more glamourous than the way I look in RL when I'm in cleaning mode, building up a sweat and hair all over the place... In SL cleaning can actually look sexy...

The master sat in his chair nonchalantly reading his book and ignoring the advances of the staff in his household, but the humiliation of the maid still seems to come across in this photo and it's one that I am very happy with. It's either that he's ignoring her or that - and if her ripped stockings - from Avicandy - are anything to go by - she's been used like a rag doll and casted aside when he was done...
Perhaps it was the only thing she was allowed to add after the playtime of her master, perhaps it was her regular uniform we shall never know but the not-so-concealing apron from Biddy obviously isn't doing much to hid her shame... 
The Dutchie Mansion - a pre set show house for the store Dutchie by the way - is one of those places filled with secrets, the upstairs downstairs goings on will never be made public, but if this photo is anything to go by it seems that the Master rules the house with some very specific requirements from his staff hehe...
