Kings Day 2026

It's a special day in Holland today because today is King Willem-Alexander's birthday and so the party that the whole country seems to be in waiting for has been happening ALL DAY today... Celebrating the King, partying and selling off your old junk at the free markets that are taking places in many cities across the country...

In Need of Magic Spells!

Life really needs a little magic, getting news and dealing with all of the news that I've had over the last few months since the start of 2026, there's issues in the world, there's issues in MY world and I'm barely holding it together... I NEED a little magic... I don't want it, I NEED it and we all know there is a massive difference... I'm going to take matters into my own hands, and try to conjure something up... 

At this point I wish I could channel some of my inner Ursula, ya know the one that sings "Well I fortunately know a little magic, it's a talent that I always have possessed"... If you don't know, it's time to go watch a Disney film about a Little Mermaid... 
I know that my outfit is a little Witchy today, it's the fault of the dress and the amazing Vampyre Gloves - from Psycho Barbie - but when the magic was flowing from my fingers and Aetherlune reaction happened - the Aetherlune Jewels were released at the Magic Fair by Static and although the event has closed, they should be available at the mainstore - and the magic of the Crystal Cauldron started to glow... Let's hope that this helps...

St.Patrick's Day

It's St.Patrick's Day today... Traditionally only a special day in Ireland, it seems like it's slowly seeping out into the world, and I kinda get the feeling it's become more of a thing in America now than Ireland even. Maybe I'm wrong, but anyone that I spoke to today that seemed to be celebrating was not current Irish but of Irish decent... Funny how traditions shift and change throughout the world isn't it? Wonder why St.Patrick's Day become such a phenomenon, but things like St.George's Day - which is a patron saint day of the English - for example, was less of a thing... I mean everyone celebrates their own chosen things, personally outside of SL I wouldn't be doing anything for St.Patrick's Day but in SL is a whole different story... 

I've seen so many people partying and enjoying their St.Patrick's Day celebrations in Second Life and I think that's bloody awesome... I really do... I've always been like that and lately I'm a LOT less like the party animal I once was. I spend far too much time on my own at the moment, I think I should make some new friends or hang out with the old ones that I still have... I wanted to do something different, something more my usual loner style at the moment... Something with a hint of magic, something to test myself with practising decor pictures... 
Today, I heard a noise in the shed... When I snuck down there was a magical air to the place, the table top where I am learning the new art of flower pressing and drying for arts sake had some gorgeous little bright green shamrocks all over it... Gold coins glittered in the rainbow light, and there was a mysterious hat on the table that wasn't there when I left the shed earlier... 
So for now I'm going to set up a trap and wait to see if there is a Leprechaun exploring my shed, until then, Happy St.Patrick's Day...

Moving all that Emotional Baggage

This week and next are CRAZY busy weeks in my RL. From February 26th, HellBone and I don't have access to our house in RL because we are having some MAJOR rennovations done that are necessary and we HAVE to get things done. SO, HellBone and I are tidying, packing, sorting and prepping not only ONE but TWO places because luckily for us, my boss was willing to let us live on one of their properties... I have large amounts of anxiety over my roughly 6-month temporary relocation, but for now I'm just getting things ready... 

Every time I have a day off it's like the typical Moving Day scene - a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - there are boxes and cleaning supplies and mess everywhere... It's not just the stuff though, it's all the emotional baggage that I'm carrying - represented so perfectly by The Bearded Guy's What I Carry box - that is making this harder. I am exhausted, I am running on high anxiety and I can feel the clock ticking in a count down to when we are needing everything done and ready by... The cat isn't helping too as she's stressing while the house empties around her and she screams at the top of her little lungs in the voice of her people... I wish there was more hours in the day, just a few hours more then I'd be able to have a proper dinner, rather than just some pizza in my mouth as I dash past... Although Mouth Pizza is flipping delicious...

What Can I Getcha?

I should stop taking the time to work on blog pictures when I am hungry, at least that's what I try and tell myself but I'm not sure how well that will ever work. I tend to start working on something bloggish before I've even had my breakfast in the morning and then I get distracted, PLUS I love collecting food in SL. I guess it's one of my guilty pleasure collections, and I own up to my collecting addiction... If I ever get bored in SL, maybe I should open a diner... 

You'd be welcomed in with a smile and a "Welcome to Rudhie's Retro Yums Diner"... The menu would be filled with some super delicious delights. I am partial to a burger, whether that is a Chicken Burger - like the one from Junk Food which is central in the picture - or a Hamburger - on the right from Lucas Lameth, the 1950s Diner Burger - or even perhaps a hugely stacked Club Sandwich - also from Lucas Lameth - with a side of fries or chips, crisps if you are like me and a little bit British... I'd serve cold sodas and thick shakes, hot coffee and fancy teas in tea pots... I might even serve cake, it's have to be cake because I'm a cake rather than pie kinda girl...

A Delicious Easter Brunch

Yesterday was Easter Sunday and we saw a visit from Easter Bunny who filled my home with chocolates and yummy things, and today the Easter feeling continues as it is Easter Monday... 
For those that follow Christianity or Catholicism, this weekend has been one of spiritual importance, made a little sadder this year due to the death of the current Pope. For people like me it's more about the adorable Easter Bunny and his delicious Easter treats...
Today, HellBone and I have finally had some time for a delicious Easter brunchfast... 

The Easter Bunny did us a MASSIVE delicious brunchfast, with all the lovely things he brought... 
There were some amazing Hot Cross Buns - from vespertine - which are a staple for me for Easter Breakfasts from when I was growing up in the UK and they are something I dearly miss now that I don't live there. The bunny wanted us to have them with chocolate and ice cream, which seemed weird but I'm willing to give everything a go... There were dippy eggs to eat with toast and croissants, and MASSES of chocolate in the form of chocolate bunnies, my favourite tiny chocolate eggs and some of the delicious Junk Food Primbury Eggs - HellBone is addicted to the real Cadbury's Creme Eggs and these are the closest I've found in SL...

The Day Before It Begins...

Well it's finally here, the eve of the Festive Season is upon us... Tomorrow is December 1st. The first day of Advent - which this year I am really really excited for since HellBone spoilt me with my main Christmas present being a BOOK ADVENT CALENDAR... There is so much to do, what with decorating for the festivities, buying and wrapping gifts, prepping all the delicious Christmas grub and just generally getting into the spirit... 

A few days ago I'd been out in the woods collecting foliage for my decorations and so today on the last day of November I'm getting decor prepared. I've set up a little tree and pulled out the baubles, cut at the cards into Jolly Trees - from Spruce - and then pulled over the Early Winter decor crate - that I have from Pitaya - so that I could try out that tutorial I'd seen online... It looked easy enough but even I was pretty impressed with how cute my Christmas Gnome Wreath- from Simply Shelby - turned out!

Milkshake Bar

I am having such a hugely busy time at work since I've been back home... My boss is on vacation, and my work bestie has been diagnosed with cancer so understandably she is not available. I'm working all hours under the sun, I'm coming home and as soon as I get here I'm pretty much passing out... Sometimes I'm even forgetting something very important, the fact that I need to eat! When I do remember to eat, I will admit that I'm not being very healthy and it is prett common right now that I'm having Ice Cream for dinner! 

Now one of the biggest reasons that I'm having Ice Cream for dinner is I've been craving milkshakes... Not just any milkshake though, I want the really thick, almost too difficult to get through  straw kind, that basically ice cream is just the frozen form of LOL... 
I was SO hungry for milkshake that when I finally managed to get a few moments to log into SL today, I HAD one thing on my mind...I had to set myself up a little Milkshake Bar, and make myself one ot two... 
There was the Dirt Cup - from Junk Food - a decadently chocolate concoction that has been decorated with a few gummy worms for a more dirty feeling. The gorgeous pastel selection of Fruit Smoothies - from Hangry - that are not only loaded with but are also dripping with pretty berries, AND a myriad of toppings like whipped creams and syrups!! 
I hope that things taste as good as they look?!

Chocolate Milkshake Goodness

It's Easter Weekend... It's insanely busy for me in RL with work being in the centre of a city that is the home of both a beautiful tulip garden and an exhibit for a world renouned Dutch artist AND in the middle of a school holiday... It's chaos. Today though is my day off before another crazy day in the cheese shop tomorrow, and so I've been taking things VERY easy... 
I'm going to miss bunny day tomorrow since I'm working, and I've decided today to try and get myself full of delicious chocolately goodness. I don't want to eat eggs, but chocolate seems like it needs to be on the menu for every meal this weekend... 

I've set up shop in my kitchen - which happens to be a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - I made sure that I had ALL of the things that I needed to make some of the most delicious coffees. HellBone had one with doughnuts and Smarties, and I opted for Slickers Ice Coffee in place of milk - thanks to the delicious sounding release from Junk Food - with pretzels, chocolate chips whipped cream and brownies to create a Sweet Tooth Peanut Salted Caramel Milkshake... 
So delicious, but I might have used a little bit too much whipped cream, it was so hard to take a sip and I ended up with it all over my nose...

Cookie Chaos in my Holiday Kitchen

Since it's the run up now, day 2 on the slippery slope to the Festive Days, I decided that whilst I was at home it might be a good idea to get started on my Christmas baking. I've never been a very good baker, in fact I sometimes wonder how I manage to cook toast without it burning, but since Mum has already made and past me a home-made Christmas Pudding I figured that perhaps I should try and make some delicious cookies this year... How hard can it be to make gingerbread? 

In my adorable little Holiday Kitchen - a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - I pulled out all of the ingredients, and pulled on a sexy Baking Bae Apron - from Vanilla Bae - to get myself started... Once I started, I couldn't stop myself from baking more and more, houses and gingerbread men for everyone and as decoration too, but things started going a little strange. I'd followed the recipe in the strange old Thor's Country Cook Book, and I'd rolled the dough to the right consistency, but it started to escape... It was Escaping raw dough - from Aardvark for The Farmers Market - the dough was coming to life, and then the Gingerbread men became Psycho Cookies - from Tardfish at The Warehouse - running around with knives in search of a gang of jelly babies to rough up! I'm telling you, Christmas Candy is BRUTAL!!

Choices, Choices, which door do I choose?

Halloween has finally left the building, although I don't think it will ever fully be gone from my corner of the world. Though there is lots of magic still swirling around in the air, and I know that since Rudh is always into the magical arts, that there will ALWAYS be plenty of magic and monsters and darkness... Yet right now, as the Halloween magic fades away Rudh has a choice, is she going to be playing more on the darkside of the magic, or will she be able to follow to the light?

Standing before the doors in the Library of Portals - a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - she has to make her decision before the doors are able to close and block the magic for a while. The dark side is hoping to lure her in with it's beautiful collection of skulls and devious little monsters, but the good side is offering up sparkles and magic tricks and everythig that's cute and adorable!

Candy at the Prom

It's the month of romance and since I've been stuck in bed, I found myself watching old movies again... Movies I loved from my younger days. The kind of movies where a girl gets swept into a life changing romance with a little magic in for good measure... Movies like "The Princess Diaries", "Never been Kissed" and one of my old favourites "10 Things I hate About You!" 
All this romance, and all these movies, I'm slipping back into daydreams I had where I was going to these dances to live start my life as a fairytale princess - yes I was that kind of teenage girl, a dreamer lol... 

So in all those movies, there tends to be a school dance, which I would say ALWAYS seems more interesting than the one I went to at High School. The reason that I'm rambling on about this today is because I've been playing around with the brand new, gorgeous release from miss chelsea - available until February 28th at Anthem - which as soon as I played with this pink colour reminded me of Bianca Stratford's dress in "10 Things I Hate About You" and from that moment on Rudh was going to her own Prom hehe... 

After losing out to the Prom Queen title, a sash was given to Rudh as she became Miss Congeniality - which is another AWESOME movie by the way - it was time to celebrate. Slipping away from the dance floor, following the delicious smell of Candyfloss... Delicious Cotton Candy, one of the best kinds of Junk Food types you can find... So Much Sugar!!

Prepping Dinners for the Freezer

Recently I've fallen down the rabbit hole that is watching food-ish programmes on tv and youtube things... I don't know why but I find myself fascinated by things like Extreme Couponing - which is something that we don't ever do much here in the NL - and cooking shows, and I'm addicted to watching videos from Emmymade on Youtube!!!
I've been so inspired that I even thought about getting into the habit of cooking in bulk so that I'm struggling to think of what I want to eat less... Some parts of me think it would be a good idea, others I'm kinda bored by the idea... It's a connundrum for sure... 

I've been to the store and stocked up on delicious food, and now I'm going to head into the kitchen and I've gotten heaps of new Food Containers - from Junk Food - I've finally found a use for all the Tupperware that seems to be multiplying in my cupboards LOL... Actually I've already been prepping a few things, and I think my St. Bernard Puppy - from JIAN - is getting a little excited with all the foods being made...
