Darkness and Magic at the Midnight Order Show

Escaping from reality at the moment seems like a Really good idea, but I'm sure you've picked up on my desire to do that already. I did that yesterday when I had some Ice Cream, and today for some reason I'm feeling a little macabre in a good way... I mean if you've read what I have to say at all by now you'd know that the darker I get, the happier I tend to be, so this is a good sign right?! 
Today I decided to go back to one of my favourite Happy Places... The Carneval... For some reason, killer clowns (SL versions of me ONLY lol) and dark, macabre carni-types make me happy... Let's go play with them shall we?! 

Up on the stage, that has been known to be used for everything ranging from comedy nights to burlesque - a backdrop from Paparazzi by the way - one of the Carnival Freaks has a magician's show to perform... This one may go wrong at any point, hence the leftover body parts, but she's trying, what more can you expect?! 
Least if the magic trick goes wrong, her adorable little Jester Rat - from Tardfish, available until Augusut 31st at The Men's Department - can provide a brilliant distraction for the crowd, whilst the cleaning crew come in to help!!!

Dandelion Wishes

I've been trying anything and everything recently to make myself feel better... As I've alluded to in the recent weeks and especially lately there has been a lot going on in my RL and even though I'm still not ready to talk about, blogging and all the ins and outs of it has always been my favourite kind of release... So far, it's not helped... 
Today I wanted to do something TOTALLY fantasy, totally in the fairy realm where my mind is resting and the fairies have control... Today I went outside, and laid in the long grass, playing with Dandelion clocks and talking to my mum like I always used to do... There were friends in the long grass to help me make dandelion wishes... 

When you're playing the the Dandelions, remember there are some that see it as a weed, but the fae folk see them as hundreds of tiny little wishes that can be whisked away on the breeze to spread happiness to anyone that sees them... 
This adorable little Dandelion Fae was lingering in the grass this morning, she invited me to stop for tea and her favourite food, which although looked like a dandelion was actually an extremely delicious Blooming Onion - created by Lucas Lameth, available now at Anthem... 
I know there are no wishes that I could make to change things right now, but I am hoping to feel better, and there's always hope right?!

Froggin' Fishin'!

It's been a Lazy Sunday, and there has been nothing much going on in my life except a day to relax... Boy was it necessary, it was lovely and so very necessary... 
I kicked back and let myself have a day of NOTHING that has left me feeling relaxed and comforted... 

Today I wanted to take a day of just chillaxation by doing something I don't normally have a chance to do... Nothing...

St.Patrick's Day

It's St.Patrick's Day today... Traditionally only a special day in Ireland, it seems like it's slowly seeping out into the world, and I kinda get the feeling it's become more of a thing in America now than Ireland even. Maybe I'm wrong, but anyone that I spoke to today that seemed to be celebrating was not current Irish but of Irish decent... Funny how traditions shift and change throughout the world isn't it? Wonder why St.Patrick's Day become such a phenomenon, but things like St.George's Day - which is a patron saint day of the English - for example, was less of a thing... I mean everyone celebrates their own chosen things, personally outside of SL I wouldn't be doing anything for St.Patrick's Day but in SL is a whole different story... 

I've seen so many people partying and enjoying their St.Patrick's Day celebrations in Second Life and I think that's bloody awesome... I really do... I've always been like that and lately I'm a LOT less like the party animal I once was. I spend far too much time on my own at the moment, I think I should make some new friends or hang out with the old ones that I still have... I wanted to do something different, something more my usual loner style at the moment... Something with a hint of magic, something to test myself with practising decor pictures... 
Today, I heard a noise in the shed... When I snuck down there was a magical air to the place, the table top where I am learning the new art of flower pressing and drying for arts sake had some gorgeous little bright green shamrocks all over it... Gold coins glittered in the rainbow light, and there was a mysterious hat on the table that wasn't there when I left the shed earlier... 
So for now I'm going to set up a trap and wait to see if there is a Leprechaun exploring my shed, until then, Happy St.Patrick's Day...

Tricks or Treats for Halloween

Tomorrow is the big day, the one we've been waiting for ALL MONTH... Tomorrow is Halloween. The spookiest day of the year when the spirits come out to play... There seems to be something so special at this time of year, and although sometimes I wish it was celebrated here like it is in America, I've done all I can to make things happy... It's a long shot considering everything that I've got going on at the moment in RL, but I've carved my pumpkin and got some candy ready just in case... 
In SL I have other plans... In SL I am getting ready to take my own kids out on a mission to Trick or Treat... 

I let the kids pick their Halloween costumes this year, and we have made a collective decision as to what we're going to be... They are a pack of little ghosts, some Meow-oween Cats and Howl-oween Dogs - both of which are from Aardvark, with the cats at Kustom9 and dogs at ACCESS - and so I as their responsible adult I've decided to be their Ghostbuster... 
Things have been successful so far... The kids have all had lots of delicious treats... The last house on the block is known as "La Villa" - which happens to be a backdrop from FOXCITY - usually has the bestest of treats which are set out on a Candy Chair - from Junk Food - for easy access... 
Since I won't be around tomorrow though due to being stuck at work until late... HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!

On a Quest for a King...

It's the 31st of March... We've already been through a quater of the year and I honestly feel like it's been going by at super speed.The feeling of the speed is making me feel weary and if I'm honest, more than a little down in the dumps, and the only thing that is getting me by at the moment is the ability to get lost in my own TBR - that's To Be Read list for the people that aren't into reading like I am... I have my favourite genres, but as well as the rather darker smuttier side, I've always been a fantasy reader. I've also always LOVED anything Knights and Medieval historical based... It leads the mind to a calming, happy place... 

I needed a little magic, I needed to let my brain drift off from the current circumstances going on in the world right now and the fact that even though life is getting busier, people around me seem to be getting grumpier... You'd think that tourists coming to Amsterdam to see the flowers, would be happier as they are on vacation, but NO people act like they can do what they want, when they want, how they want and it's so disappointing and a little infuriating... 
I NEED to distract myself, I laid in the sun closing my eyes and dreaming of things that are pretty wonderful... A quest to somewhere tranquil and mystical, somewhere that the magic can soak into your skin and bring you to life... A quest for Arthur's Sword - thanks to a backdrop from The Bearded Guy - saw a Knight pause for a moment in reverence before she tried to free the sword from the stone...

Looking for a Pot of Gold!

Today is the day for the Luck of the Irish... A day when people go crazy for all things green, drink a lot more Guinness than they might normally ever do and even try a little Irish jig or two. People start hunting Leprechauns and looking for pots of gold at the end of rainbows, and maybe if you're lucky having a nice bowl of a hearty stew... Like many holidays though, St.Patrick's day has its roots in religion and it's true beginnings commemorate the arrival of Christianity in Ireland... 
I am not the religious type, but I've always loved the magic of the world so I'd be much more likely to go on the hunt for Leprechauns and their gold... 

When I was a teenager, my parents took me to Ireland and we travelled around the Ring of Kerry. It was ABSOLUTELY gorgeous, enchanting, I even joined in the magic and kissed the Blarney Stone but it felt so easy to imagine the fae folk and the leprechauns hiding in the flowery meadows... If you saw a rainbow, you coudn't help risking a peek around for a pot of gold...

Trick or Treating for Pennies

 HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! The day of the darkest magic has finaly arrived and there is so much fun to be had... I'll admit to you now that this October has been a whole lot less Halloweeny than years gone by, and even though it feels like I've done a lot less Halloweeny stuff this year I'm kinda happy to just be able to relax and enjoy the chill in the air... 

I spent a long time trying to work out what I wanted to be this year for Halloween... I finally got my Hop(e) on - which also happens to be the name of the backdrop from K&S - and realised that posing in the sewer there was one character I had to be... The sewer seemed far too full of trash, and even the tentacle monster that dwells in the dark wants to escape... 
What kinda Halloween spooky lives in the sewer you might ask? For those of you that appreciate a good horror movie, there's only one real answer... I'm dressing all cute and evil clowish, I'm going to get my IT on... 
One of my store obsessions, Mug, made the perfectly girlie version of Pennywise's outfit - appropriately called Penny, and available until November 10th at Kustom9 - and with the addition of a little make-up to look a little Scherzo - in a make-up that is a Hunt Gift from Fallen Gods Inc, at the soon to shut Trick or Treat Lane - and my clowning around was ready...

Only Books have the Answers!

Today has been a busy but lovely day... I got to see my mum for a few hours when her cruise docked in Amsterdam - she said my tour was much nicer than the one offered by the cruise operators - and then after a very hectic morning, I came home to relax... I had a shower, got into something comfortable and promptly took a nap. I'd been planning to read, but I only managed a few pages before I passed out... 

Nothing like curling up with a good book, I LOVE reading under a blanket with a cuppa... I've been reading so much this year, and I realised the other day when I didn't get a chance to read before bed that I had trouble falling asleep... 
Like I said though, being in my jammies, with a good book, a cup of tea or coffee and my darling pussy cats - like the Bat-titude and Arachno Cats from Aardvark at the current round of ACCESS - can make everything better. In this case, I'm sat with a voodoo doll friend of mine whilst I look through the Necronomicon as the mess of my desk wasn't revealling the information I needed it too... Not even my Pendulum Prediction Board - from MadPea, available until November 10th at Kustom9 - wasn't able to find the answers...

The Colours of Heaven!

Angels mean so many things to so many different people, and there are so many ways of looking at them too... Long gone are the days when they were beautiful, innocent looking beings, no longer sweet innocent child-like beings, now Angels come in all different shapes, sizes, colours and styles... I'm not always a good girl but even when I'm dark and depraved I liked to think I'm a little angellic... 

There's room for all different angellic beings in Heaven, and heaven is much more lively these days than peaceful beings roaming around in long white robes... At least not in the kind of heaven that I tend to invisage... IF there is a Heaven I'd imagine it would be full of bright colours and fashionista divas... It would be a Dreamlike Space - similar to the backdrop from K&S - and since we all know there are stairways to heaven I'd want to make sure there were  plenty of places to sit - like the Beau Benches from Krescendo, available until tomorrow at FaMESHed and then hopefully soon in the mainstore if you miss it at the event - so that you can catch your breath while climbing up all of those stairs...

A Visit to the Nurse for Halloween

This is Halloween, This is Halloween... Aren't you scared? Well that's just fine... I've not been scared on Halloween since I was little, though that may change as I believe I MAY be forced to watch a Horror Movie tonight... I may look like I like all things dark and scary, but in reality I'm a pretty huge wuss LOL.... 
As with every year though, I've had fun playing with multiple different Halloween costumes, some more crazy, others less so, but I LOVE playing dress up and just because tonight is Halloween don't expect that to stop any time soon... I've been all kinds of different monsters, but there has beenone missing, a dark, dangerous and deadly nurse... Welcome to the Asylum, it's time for our treats... 

Nurse Deadheart stalks through the halls of the Asylum ready to hand out some delicious drug treats for the patients locked in their rooms... It keeps them quiet and allows them to forget the monsters that roam the halls during this Hallow Night...

Ladies and Gentle Bugs

I've slipped into a bit of a hole recently, I'm finding it difficult to focus on anything as I'm getting to the point of needing something different in life. I'm getting bored, I'm overly tired and want to get away somewhere different, so I can see new things and feel more relaxed than I currently do. In fact, I'm eager to get myself away, and the reason being is that I am almost at the point of going back to the UK... I NEED to go home and see my family, be amongst English things and do nothing more than read a book... 
My mind needs to be able to drift off to a magical world... Like the fairies that live in my head and my SecondLife... 

You should know by now the love I have for all things fae. I've always believed that I would be a mermaid if I could be a fanatasy being, but I'm beginning to think that I could also be a fairy. 
Today I'm getting into a new set of wings, that comes with a perfect pattern of spotted markings... I'm going to be dancing in a fairy glade, the one that is known as the Sunken Temple - a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - and down amongst the daisies and dandelions, is where the Lady Bugs dance... The little Lady Bug Fae wears the spots of her friends on her skin - a gorgeous new set from Fantasy Forest Store that includes the wings and body paint shown here but also wings for flight, antennae, headdress and a staff full of magical power - that allows her to perfectly blend in...

It's A Brand New Year!!

For the first time in 2023, I've been able to log into Second Life and spend some time getting my creative juices flowing. I'm finding myself feeling positive in the thoughts of being able to start creating pretty pictures, and assisting myself to grow, to shine and to allow myself to become the best possible me that I have been. 
It's time to stop and pause, to think back now that the dust has settled and that the partying hangover has subsided... It's time to evaulate what has been and what could be... 

On a Cozy Balcony - a backdrop from FOXCITY - as the party has died down, and the mess is not just a little but actually a lot, I had to stop and grab myself a last bottle of Champagne and the only clean Champagne glass - which is actually a Champagne Set from Junk Food - and have one last drink before bed... 
My mind slipped over the year that has passed, and this time last year was such a different place that I'm in right now. This time last year I was healing from a major operation to remove a flesh eaing bacteria, follwing which I spent about 5 solid months barely getting out of bed while things healed... Later in the year, along with many other British people I found myself mourning the loss of Queen Elizabeth II, as it was like losing a grandparent... 
Around the same time renovations started on our house, and all hell broke loose. We ended up with a GIANT HOLE in the back of our house and no-one to do any work, until Hell took matters into his own hands. 
It has been a LONG HARD year, and things have been pretty nightmarish, but I made it through and I've never felt better. I'm doing well at work, I've been losing weight and I'm feeling like my mind is in a good place. I look forward to the new year, I raise a glass for positivity, for prosperity and for a healthy and happy new year...
Happy New Year to anyone that reads this, I hope you can join me on this year's rollercoaster... Please keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle at all times, it's likely to be a bumpy ride!!!

The Flowers have Eyes

 It's been an eventful day for me, I went on a RL adventure to another location and it's always interesting as an adventure goes... Whenever I go on an adventure in RL, I find myself wanting to go on adventures in my SL as well... As it's almost Halloween, I can do just that, I can let my mind wander off to a magical place, where the flowers have a very dark almost Wonderland feel, and their caretaker is more than a little green fingered and unseelie... 

This garden has a lot of the wonder, a little of the magic and a lot more of the creepy... The Roses have eyes, the flowers have a spidery look, and even the trees are twisted and curly - thanks to LOVE - but still it's the eyes that are the strangest parts of this garden... The flowers communicate with the fae that her, half fae, half demon - a release from Forest Fantasy Store with additional greenery from GERMINAL in the After Dark Green Tattoo and Drow Sleeves - seems to be sprouting from her body. She's a Forest Fae - in an outfit from Decoy - with a touch of darkness in her wings - from Quills & Curiosities - but she's really a Shy Eyeris - thanks to the awesome flowers from Tardfish.

A World of Burton

As the courtcase of one of his best friends seems to have taken over the media throughout the world, Mr Tim Burton has taken over a lot of Second Life this week as there is an Enchantment that has gone a little Burton-esque... Christmas Nightmares, Juice with Beetles and a touch of Wonderland have taken over, not to mention there is a demon barber on the loose... If SL wasn't scary enough at times, the monstrous mind of Mr Burton has taken over... 

This is definitely not the End of Story - a backdrop from K&S - though, the creatures have now found their own happy little lives in Second Life. Hiding in amongst the Curly Wurly Trees - a new release from LOVE for Enchantment - inhabitants of wonderland seek guidance and luckily for them Rudh and her gorgeous new Sand Slug friend - from Tardfish, also at Enchantment - are here to lead the way... 
As a side note though, I wanted to show off some of my goodies more clearly, things like the Six Feet Under "Victoria" Necklace - from Enchantment - and the Six Feet Under "Hellbourne Nose Ring" - available at Black Fair until May 29th - so I had to share a little close-up for a better looksee!!

Relaxing after Easter Shellebration

Easter Weekend has been and gone, in some parts of the world Easter doesn't carry on into Monday, in others it does... Easter Monday is still considered a holiday in the Netherlands and so most of the country have had the day to chillax... It's a good job too, that poor little Easter Bunny has worn herself out and has retreated to her homeland to relax... 

She's brought back baskets of leftover Easter Goodies - from Dust Bunny - and some of those random crates that were left laying around which claim to be full of Bunny Bait - the current gift from Krescendo, isn't it cute! - but everyone knows that bunnies don't want carrots anymore, they have much more descerning tastes. Still there are plenty of things to help the Easter Bunny can relax after the Easter Shellebration - a backdrop from Synnergy.

Fairy Parties in Wonderland

I cannot believe it, I've been named blogger of the month for Synnergy.. It it's a total and complete surprise, and I never would have thought that I'd be chosen since I take such random, crazy, weird pictures... It's one of the things I love about Synnergy, they create things that are random, all over the place and this helps my creativity soar... 
Take today, I went to a wonderful party in the woods with the fairies to dance with the satyrs... 

This place in the woods is like a Wonderland - a backdrop from Synnergy - it's a fun time to come and dance in the dappled sunlight... I dressed the part so I'm able to fit in, and my inner fairy was allowed out to the suface for some fun...

Pots of Gold & Beer

 Another day, another seasonal holiday... There is a lot of holidays throughout the year but this one seems to be mostly celebrated by the Americans outside of Ireland anyway... For the Irish, it's St. Patrick's Day. A day to celebrate when Saint Patrick rid Ireland of the snakes, at least that's what I think is supposed to have happened... These days, as with all of the holidays out there, things have changed... It's all about the green now, drinking green beer and going in search of the little men in green - not aliens, I'm talking about leprechauns here... 

I had planned to celebrate St.Patrick's Day with a cold green beer and a green outfit, but that wasn't going to happen... I opened the fridge and discovered that all of my special green beer had been stolen! Out of the corner of my eye, I spotted a little green leprechaun slipping out of the back door... I had to follow him, if he was going to drink my beer, I was going to find the pot of gold at the end of his rainbow... 
Little did I know that the pot of gold, was also where I'd find myself a delicious Beer Pitcher - from Junk Food - full of chilled Green Beer...

Wandering in Wonderland

 Brain is a fuzzy place right now and I don't know how to correct it... I guess I need to give it a few days and let my mind calm down! I guess though while I'm going through that I will let my mind slip away to somewhere happy, so that I don't have to think about real life.. Maybe I'll take a trip to join my friend Alice, in her special place... Today I think I'll head to Wonderland... 

Wonderland hasn't been the same since Alice took over, but I'm not sure it's worse than it was with the Queen of Hearts having control... The cute little animals are still there, like the White Rabbit and even the rare forest glass creature... 
Ensuring that she has a bottle of Drink Me Potion to help herself with the bigger/smaller transformations, she headed through the eye garden gate and out into Wonderland... What will she find in wonderland? Maybe there will be more cakes at a tea party, she'd like to let go and celebrate an Unbirthday or two...
