Only Books have the Answers!

Today has been a busy but lovely day... I got to see my mum for a few hours when her cruise docked in Amsterdam - she said my tour was much nicer than the one offered by the cruise operators - and then after a very hectic morning, I came home to relax... I had a shower, got into something comfortable and promptly took a nap. I'd been planning to read, but I only managed a few pages before I passed out... 

Nothing like curling up with a good book, I LOVE reading under a blanket with a cuppa... I've been reading so much this year, and I realised the other day when I didn't get a chance to read before bed that I had trouble falling asleep... 
Like I said though, being in my jammies, with a good book, a cup of tea or coffee and my darling pussy cats - like the Bat-titude and Arachno Cats from Aardvark at the current round of ACCESS - can make everything better. In this case, I'm sat with a voodoo doll friend of mine whilst I look through the Necronomicon as the mess of my desk wasn't revealling the information I needed it too... Not even my Pendulum Prediction Board - from MadPea, available until November 10th at Kustom9 - wasn't able to find the answers...

Vegging Out on the Sofa

 What a crazy day has been, anyone out there would think that Corona doesn't exist and that the Netherlands hasn't just had to go into a partial lockdown... Work was insane, people were everywhere and it was just madness... I've never been so tired after a day of work LOL... I'm sure that I say that a lot, but this time it's REAL... I'm worn out!! 
I think that it's time to just pull on my jammies, and veg out on the sofa, I'll put something good on to watch, I've got some 'What we do in the Shadows' to catch up on... Looks like an evening with the vampires! 

I love getting home from work and slipping into my comfy jammies - just like these old but faithful ones from dust bunny called the Teddy Loungewear - and flicking on the TV in my lounge - which has been decorated using some Krescendo "Magical Movie Marathon Set" - and while I veg out on the sofa - in a pose from -Extra- that is available for Manly Weekend - I might be persuaded to share some of my delicious Spooky Nachos - from Junk Food - with my adorable fur babies that are asleep on the rug!!

A Party for the Fellowship at the Solstice

OH MY GOD has anyone heard... There is a Lord of the Rings event that just opened it's doors. 
I honestly got totally, crazily, geekily excited when I heard that this event was coming, and then when I got myself into the event location it was so cute... Everywhere you look are lots of little things that are straight from the movies, and the decor that sounds the location are just perfect little glimpses into the scenes of the movie... I had to happen though, I had to let myself get caught up in the magic... 

Right in the heart of the Solstice's Event, The Fellowship, you will find the tree that Bilbo planted on the field outside of Bag End, and it looks like we're in time for the Hobbit's Party and some of Gandalf's amazing fireworks... 
I got myself all dressed up in a style that was pretty, and that I borrowed from the wonderful Rosie Cotton's wardrobe. The gorgeous Linda Drindl and matching blouse - available from Salt & Pepper at Equal10 - and went into the party, grabbing a Fellowship Ale - from Halo - and heading out to see if I could find Merry and Pippin, and some of their snacks

She walks in starlight, in another world...

"She is far away. She is far, far away from me. She walks in starlight in another world. It was just a dream. Do you think she could love me?" 
Even though the character of Tauriel wasn't actually in the book, she made a love match in the movie that even now makes me smile. The love between her and Kili in the movies, feels sweet and deep. 
So when the new round of Enchantment was announced as Lord of the Rings themed, I was super excited. I've always been a Tolkein fan, this was something I couldn't wait to get to... 

What started out as something Lord of the Rings based, became a trip to Tolkein world and I ended up in Middle Earth... Maybe if I'm really lucky I will find myself a Fili, he was the best dwarf anyway hehe... 
So while at the Lord of the Rings round of Enchantment, I couldn't help but indulge myself in a few goodies based on the theme. Starting with this super pretty dress from Oubliette called "Arwen". I borrowed a pretty ring from a little guy called Frodo - the One Ring Necklace from Junk Food, and wore it on a chain around my neck. The necklace once I had it against my elven skin started doing funny things and I ended up with a weird halo on my back - an Isil Halo from Cubic Cherry It was chanting, in a low, deep, rumbling voice; 
"One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them".

Adventures in the Pages of a Book

I've been saying for the past couple of days that I want to go on an adventure... I want to explore, and discover new things, but - and this is a rather important, big butt - as yet I'm being far too lazy in actually starting on my adventures. 
The biggest adventures I'm having at the moment is when I curl up in my comfy arm chair and let myself get lost in a book, preferably with a blanket and a cup of tea, if I'm really lucky... 

Getting lost in a book has always been one of my favourite past times, I love being able to lose myself in a world away from reality. Finding SL was a way to escape the reality, but even here sometimes I feel there is a need to escape! 
So I'm curled up with a book and watching the magic of the pages drag me away into another fantasy... The magical sparkles right from the page, and the monsters and fairies and dragons are here to guide me... 
Nothing is better than a day in your PJs, than a day in your PJs with a blankie, a cup of tea and a good book!!

Casting a little Magic...

I don't normally do things involving just décor, I don't feel like I'm very good at it... BUT I had these adorable rugs and needed to find a way to show something magical... 
So today Rudh is working on some special magic... The kind of magic that is the most dangerous and tricky magic... Love Magic... 

The magic is something that comes from true love, but you know sometimes even that needs a little help, and a girl needs to practice her magic making skills... 
She's got a spell book, and is set up ready to go... Everything is on her table ready on Crystal Rug from Candle and Cauldron, and the heat is on... Lets see how much damage she can cause!

Tolkein's Middle Earth

I am crazy into the Tolkein world of Lord of the Rings and Hobbits... It's something that I grew up loving and find myself both reading and watching over and over and over again... Peter Jackson brought the books to life in a way that I love almost as much as Tolkein's original stories, yet I've always wanted to bring my enjoyment of it alive in SL... A few months ago I was bought a Hobbit House, and then very recently a huge gacha collection was released full of pretty LOTR based creations... WELL that was it, I was done, I needed EVERYTHING and I had to make myself into a character that would fit into the Middle Earth world... 

Funny story, when I met my friend and sister Imma translated my SL name, it turned out that Rudhmellowen - which I created from Tolkein Elvish by the way - means 'Lover of Bald Men' and is kinda funny because HellBone shaves his head in RL!! Maybe it was fate?!
Anyway, SPELL released a Gacha full of Middle Earth goodies for the current - but soon to close - round of The Chapter Four this month, and I NEEDED EVERYTHING... Theres Hobbitishness, and Elven goodies, Human and Dwarven with a few darker things thrown in too, and it was a set that I NEEDED... Much of it now litters my little Hobbit hole LOL... 
To let you see some of the finer details that you can't really see in the bigger picture I'm going to share a little close up collage with you... 

Then to finish, I want to share something that I LOVE to listen to and watch too... An Official video for the final instalment of Peter's Jackson's Hobbit Movie... Sung by Billy Boyd - aka Peregrine "Pippin" Took - it's the perfect song to close the collection of movies, and works not just for one but both trilogies as a goodbye... No matter what happens in this life, I KNOW that I will always find happiness in reading books, but the Tolkein realm of Middle Earth will always be one of those places I can retreat to and leave with a smile on my face!

Wannabe Mermaid

Waking up after having weird dreams has left me feeling a bit strange this morning... I don't know exactly what the dreams were about but I can remember a feeling of HUH? and as I wake up I am still feeling that same weird mix of emotions... I feel so weird in fact that I'm kinda at a loss for words, I have nothing of any value to say this morning and so when choosing something from my collection to blog, the best idea was something a little crazy... 

Hence the Wannabe Mermaid look... Someone told Rudh if she eats enough Mermaids, then she may become one, it's the sort of thing my mum used to tell me when I was a kid wanting a lot of something to eat, but anyway, that explains why she's bobbing around in the middle of the ocean - in a Signature Pose Floatie that you can grab at GEN:Neutral - chomping on a little mermaid and looking a little bit like she has an opalescent sheen to her skin. 
Just for those of you that are interested, no mermaids were harmed in the making of this photograph... This mouthie prop is a very old school gacha item from Evie's Closet - I'm not sure it's still even available - and the sheen to her skin is a new release from The White Crow at the latest round of the Kawaii Project. 
Perhaps sharing a picture of Rudh like this was not my best idea this morning, I still feel like I'm in that weird dream!! I must find more caffeine!! Wakey Wakey Rise and Shine!!!
