Mushroom Harvest Starts, The Celebration Begins!

My working week is finaly done and it's the weekend, so I'm going to let my hair down and have alovely, relaxing party - Pyjama's and Relaxing Time YAY! - there hasn't been much time for that this week and I truly need a rest at the moment. I don't know why, I'm exhausted... It must be the time of year as the season is beginning to change... 
I get home and I'm about to head inside and relax when the fairy senses inside me started tingling... There was something going on in the fairy grove and I had to go check... 

When I got to the fairy glade, having morphed from standard boring human to something a little more magical, I stumbled upon a different kind of party. Not the relaxing pyjama party I'd been hoping for, but a Mushroom Buddies - a new release from Pitaya for The Fifty - have been picking Orchand mushrooms to get ready for the Autumn feasts and hibernation preparation... Now I KNOW I wasn't keen on the idea of having to do anything more than relax BUT I can't turn down this kinda party, they have tea and CAKE!!!

Peach Treats for the Wee Cows!

Well guess who is back again, it's been a VERY busy few days with a visit from my parents but I'm finally back and have SO MUCH to catch up on that I don't really know where to start at all... This visit was mostly for the SAIL Amsterdam event, but entertaining people that are staying in your house definitely feels draining lol... I love my parents, I couldn't ive with them... 
I have a lot of things to catch up on right now... Plants need watering, and there are animals that need caring for on the farm... Let's go do that, it will help to relax me...

Amsterdamse Pride!

After three long days back at work, I am finally home and have a day off tomorrow... Amsterdam is BUSY this week... It's not tulip season busy but it's busy and that's because of the fact that this weekend is Amsterdamse Pride weekend. 
Amsterdam is a city that is proud of hosting the Pride events, they run all week and finish on Saturday with a boat parade through the canals!  

This, of course, means the city is rainbowfied... It has brought in some of the most friendly, most fun and most vibrant types of people. I honestly LOVE this week in the city, people that come for Pride seem much happier than those that come any other time of the year. Of course, there are always exceptions, but generally, it's a lot more fun working in retail tourism right now... Does help that I'm close to the Pride epicenter, if you're wanting gay clubs and bars in Amsterdam it's well known that you gotta go to the Regulierdwarsstraat! 
So on my day off tomorrow, I'm going to go out into the city and help paint the town in rainbow stripes, meet some lovely people and give out a few hugs to those that need an ally in their life... Happy Amsterdam Pride everyone!

The Future Of Self-Preservation!

Do you ever stop and think about the future? I am not the kinda girl that enjoys any form of Science Fiction, be that in movies or books, but the hubby really loves Star Wars... I think back to pictures of history that we've seen where they say in 2025 we'd be driving flying cars, and Back to the Future had so many gadgets that would be handy but are non-existant... I wonder will humans look different, they already warn about changes caused by technological influences like smart phones... But wouldn't it be better to be something more interesting... 

I'd like to think that we mutate into something a little cooler... Adding some Cyborg parts to make sure the human body runs smoothly, but like I've said they talk about Smart Phone hands and App watching neck with a hump since we spend so long looking down at phones and tablets, but I was hopeing maybe for more eyes or something so that I can see better and don't have to wear glasses any more. I know I could wear contacts but I cannot stick my fingers in my eyes... 
As for protection though, I'd stick with the old school methods... Like they say, if it aint broke, don't fix it...

A Spot of Gardening

It's Good Friday, a lot of people are having a long weekend and therefore they are home from work or even on vacations... This means that the number of people in Amsterdam has swelled and we were BUSY AS ALL HECK today, I'm kinda dreading tomorrow... I've been messaging my parents today on and off, and they have been busy in the garden, I wish I'd been able to do that... I'd have loved to have been in the garden today...

I am NOT a gardener, though I have been loving working on the garden HellBone has built for me in Second Life... I am addicted to our home sim, and it's somewhere I'm still working on decorating things - I'll never be like some of the AMAZING landscapers in Second Life - but it's my perfect little contryside, Hobbitty home... 
We have Hell's greenhouse full of beautiful Cacti, our beach cove, and the adorable little market. There is a farmyard filled with cows, goats, sheep and chickens, although the Silkie Chickens - from Aardvark, available until May 8th at ACCESS - are still settling into their new home. I've also been working on the vegetable garden, I had to start before the goats get loose, I mean it is the time of year for a spot of Spring Gardening...

A Darker Side to the Easter Bunny

I've been off work sick for the past two days... It seems like there is a dreaded lurgy going around, as everyone in my work team has been hit, just in time for the high season in a striking resemblence to the events of 5 years ago when COVID initially happened... Tomorrow I am planning to try and go back, we NEED people even though I'm still not really well enough... Today I'm having to try and do things as normal, so that means it's time to try and work on a little something for my blog... I'm not in the best mood, so something dark it is... 
Have you ever wondered where Easter Eggs come from?! 

Today we're on a pathway to find out, and I'll warn you now, it's not all chocolate, cute animals and pastel colours... There's a darker side of Easter, there's a monstrous establishment where the chickens are forced to lay the brightly coloured eggs that decorate tables and homes for the festive season... They once they have been laid they are taken to another location where the gnomes fill them with chocolate... All under the watchful eye of the Easter Bunny and his minions. Not all of the minion bunnies are the cute cuddly kind, there are the darker, twisted overseers are just that, dark and twisted, controlling and a little evil... Yet they run a tight ship, but they look SO feisty, fabulous as they do it...

Drowsy Slumbering Pillow Talk

FINALLY A DAY OFF... I'm not getting too excited, it's just TWO days off as a weekend but I am finally and very desperately in need of my day off today... I feel fecking worn out, I feel like I've been hit by a bus, I am finally ready for a rest... 

I had a busy and stressful week at work this week, since my boss has been sick and now I'm ready to rest and relax and let my brain stop running on overtime... 
I'm spending my day in my pyjamas, on the sofa, with a good book and a cuppa tea... Rudh used her time away from me making her do all kinds of random shit... Prepping for the Show!

 I've had a lovely couple of days off since it was my Birthday on Wednesday and today the hubby and I were doing lots of things to get stuff done in the house... The basic boring things like laundry, grocery shopping and vacuuming... It also meant I had a chance to sit behind the PC and go through things that I need to get organised for blogging before the end of the month... 
There's so many things to get done in the next 11 days... Now that Spring is officially here though, and things are abnormally warm, that may mean there will be a lot more colours and flowers and prettiness around... For now, there is an event being prepped and readied, it's almost time to get on with the show... 

Sometimes the show can be an entertaining carnival affair with clowns and colours and magic, sometimes though it is the opposite and we end up watching a Tragic Show - like the backdrop I'm posing in today from The Bearded Guy - and you can NEVER tell what type of show it will be. This can be said especially when the Engine Room is opening, and all manner of clientelle comes to town seeing the steampunkish wares... 
The sometimes clowm, sometimes carnival freak that I am had better hurry to get things set up properly, before the doors of the Engine Room officially opens at 12PM SLT today... My Piggy - a cute animesh rideable companion from Aardvark at ACCESS until April 8th - also known as Parker, is normally a fun member of the show, but today he's a bit grumpy, but he will be alright when he's able to enjoy a big ol'bowl of swill later as soon as I'm done with all the things we need to get done in my Hunter's Handbook -from Static at the soon to open Engine Room - hanging around my neck...

A Monday Morning Meeting!

Monday morning, the start of the working week... It's time to get busy, but I HAVE JUST BOOKED ANOTHER TRIP TO SEE MY PARENTS AND I AM SO EXCITED... Sorry back to the working week, I work in retail but many people are heading back to the office and into their corportate lives... 
I'm glad that I don't have to, I have no desire to be in a boardroom hosting meetings that no one wants to be in...

The last time I did a presentation for anything was when I had to share the year plan for our store at the end of my management training course... At that time I felt so sick but that was mostly just nerves I guess... The people in the meeting knew SO MUCH more about things than I did, but that was kinda lucky really... I'd hate to be one of those people presenting a meeting to people that are scratching their heads or even taking the time to eat their lunch while I ramble on, just like the Opossums - from Aardvark at  that were so over it in Rudh's meeting today... 
All I can say is he'd better save me one of those Heart Sanwiches - from Junk Food - once I'm done with this meeting in this boring meeting in the Executive Loft - which is a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis by the way...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

There are two sides of my mind right now... One says, "WOW 2024 has been a damn long year with lots of ups and downs and boy I'm glad it's over", the other says "Pfft where the heck did 2024 go and has Christmas come and gone already?"... There's a bigger part of me that's wondering how in the heck the Millennium was 25 years ago, and the fact that we're starting 2025 with a WTF week doesn't bode well... Last time we had a WTF week, we had the Corona outbreak... I know we don't need another one of those, but I will say it might be nice to be forced to stay at home for a while LOL... Now it's time to close our eyes and make a wish... 

Normally I wouldn't be sending my New year wishes and thoughts for prosperity so early. We stil have a few days of 2024 to go before we slip into the new year, but I won't be around and won't have access to the PC from tomorrow. HellBone and I are disappearing to the wilds of Wales, on a family visit with my parents and my sister in her new home... It's something I've been looking forward to for a long time, and no matter that it's not going to be a restful trip it will be a change, and a change is as good as anything... 
For now, I'll enjoy the sparkles, send out many wishes and much love and say Happy New Year everyone. May your evening and start of the new year be good to you, sending you hugs and hope you'll be here to see meand my rambling antics again when I'm back for some fun new adventures...

Wrapping Stations Are Go!

This time next week we will have passed Christmas and be heading into the new year... How scary is that to think that we are so close to 2025, and that Christmas will be here in the blink of an eye?! 
Today I had to get a few things done around the house, and there will be more cleaning to do tomorrow, but there was one thing that I simply HAD to get done before Wednesday... I needed to get my wrapping done, and this little Christmas elf needed a bit of help... I headed to the one place on Earth I knew they could get it done...

Making a Charcu-tree!

Some of you may know, others may not but I work in retail... To be exact I work in a family business Cheese Shop. The company is Henri Willig, and they ship internationally if you're interested to find out more, but mostly that's just background information for what I want to share with you today... 
Due to my experience in the shop, I am a MASTER at making a cheese board, or a fancy Charcuterie if you prefer the term, and spend all day giving advice for interesting parings that will impress any cheese - or even the odd non-cheese - lover... 

I LOVE to make a charcuterie and have to say I'm not too bad at it... Pretty good in fact, and I enjoy sharing my secrets with people while I'm talking about the great cheese I sell at work... 
So today I got home from work, armed with some delicious cheese and decided to put together a little something special for the Holidays. Today as I got inspired I had to create a Christmas Charcuterie Tree - like the one from Junk Food - or perhaps that should be a Charcutree?! With fresh honey glazed ham, sausage, olives, tomatoes and of course LOTS of different cheese... It's the perfect food for a party...

Santa's Favourite Ho Ho Ho

It's been a long day and tomorrow will only be worse, but I'm so glad it's getting closer to Christmas and getting home to see the hubby had put the tree up and added the lights made me feel even more festive... 
Though this time of year I feel like an over worked elf in a yucky retail setting, though instead of being a worker elfI got a promotion this year, and became a slightly more important worker elf... 

The naughty little elf that I am, is so far down the naughty list that she has to find a way to boost herself back up. As a slightly more important elf, there is a sure fire way, Santa knows where all the naughty girls are, and there have been a few that taught me a few little tricks as a way to make sure Santa knows I can be good at certain things... 
Bring Santa a tankard of ale, and put on a little show while he relaxes before his big day... Even better if you wait until Mrs Claus has gone to bed and you dress yourself in ribbons and step up onto the Holiday Pole Stage - from MadPea at the current round of ACCESS until January 8th - to shake yourself off the naughty list...

A Parade on the Slopes

Something a little crazy to get myself into that snowy, Winter spirit today since I've got Christmas on overload and finally feel like I want something a little different... I couldn't go too far away from the snow, I couldn't wander too far from that crisp Winter atmosphere... Something fun to let off a little steam... 

On my way out for coffee, I spotted a sign to the Alpine Drifts and Frosty Friends Ski Resort... You could hardly miss the place what with all the Frosty Penguins - part of a release of Frosty Friends from Krescendo at Anthology until December 17th - dotted about... I simply had to take a peek, so after stopping for some coffee to go, I nipped into the lodge and borrowed a set of skis... Seems like I wasn't the only one on the slopes today, there was a Cozy Penguin Parade - from Aardvark, available until December 22nd at UBER - bouncing down the slopes on their bellies, although it seemed like a few had to take a peek at my coffee and snuggle into some of the scarves that had been left by skiers past...

Good Times for Dolls in Malibu Baby

One thing I love about my form of blogging is that as I'm so random I never know what will come out of my brain at any time... I LOVE being something pretty and fantastical, I love being dark and twisted and I LOVE being bright, colourful and weird... Some days I'm more random than others, and today for some reason I've had the Barbie Girl song rammed deep in my brain... That lead to me being invited to a very strange party... 

When my friend said "hey there is a new party location in Malibu Baby - a backdrop from FOXCITY by the way - called "Good Times" - with a sign made by Krescendo for the current round of Man Cave - that has a cinema, pool and a dance club... It was the perfect place for a doll, living or dead like me to explore. So I got myself all dolled up, something Barbie-esque, lots of pink and cute - in a shirt from Adora-tions, and a pink fluffy coat from GABRIEL - but I feel like I had a bit of a wires crossed moment... 
The kind of dolls that were to be found poolside were not what I was expecting... The Blowup Bettys and Blowup Barrys - a release from MadPea for the current round of ACCESS until December 8th - are strutting their stuff, checking each other out and there's an undercurrent of sexiness... Weird looks on their faces and far too much rubber skin on show... Still, I hope they all find happiness, it's just not the hangout place for me...

Make New Friends

It's already nearing the end of November and that means before very long Christmas will start and things will go bonkers... I have so much to do, I want to get myself some new Christmas decorations and may even go out into nature and collect some wild winter foliage for decor... I'll head out into the wild and make a day of it... 

I'd made myself a little camp on the edge of the woods, just over the bridge in the Snowfall Crossing - a backdrop by Synnergy.Tavis - and after spending a few hours collecting foliage to use as decor, I curled up in a pile of blankets on rugs laid in the snow to hide away for a tea break... 
While I was making the tea, I must have passed out a little, when I woke up I had some new friends that had decided my camp looked like a nice warm plae for a nap... Fox Friends came for pets, and Lil Bear Cubs were making themselves at home - both of these sets of animals are from Aardvark, the bears are currently available at TMD and the foxes are at the current round of ACCESS - whilst the cute little bunnies took over my scarf...

The Mourning Moth and her Pets

I felt like it was time for a little dark magic... Halloween is getting closer and closer, and so far the magic has barely been grey let alone dark... I think the Halloween spirits are beginning to get a little twitchy... 
There are spirits stirring in the deepest parts of the darkest forest... Monsters are getting restless and beginning to crawl out of the darkness... 

In the forest it feels like you are being Watched - a backdrop from The Bearded Guy - yet it is not the eyes you need to watch out for. The dark Mourning Moth - a release from Faunus that is still available until October 24th at Kawaii Secrets - is lurking, her dark magic having lured the Arachnid Belle - a gorgeous outfit created by the amazing Eliavah in a brilliant collaboration with everfaery for this month's Kustom9 - to create her a magical outfit made with dark magic in mind... 
She and her wonderful pets, the pack of Paimon - a pose prop included with the pose set from Fashiowl - and the large black Forest Spirit - from Tardfish - are preparing their arrival... It is time for more black magic...

Pumpkins and Apples

It's nearly the end of September. We have just a few more days to slip into the Autumn and all it's goodness before the spooky season begins. I have much to get done, including organisation for the Halloween event, but before I get into all that, I have to make a quick trip to the local pumpkin farm to pick out the perfect, must-have, Fall accessory... 

Autumn and it's seasonal spookies are my favourite time of the year, I love the glittering lights of Christmas but Halloween will always be my favourite of the holidays... 
I pulled on a comfy farm-hand style outfits, I find that dungarees are always good for stomping around in the pumpkin patch... Today though at the Pumpkin Patch, I not only got to choose a few gorgeous pumpkins to decorate my home and garden, but I made some new little Pumpkin Pals - a cute puppy release from Aardvark available until October 8th at ACCESS - AND even found the most delicious Caramel Apples with a crunch and sweetness that made me a very happy girl...

Bobbing in the Fall

Since the Autumn season seems to be very much upon us in this part of the world, and since people are going a little pumpkin obsessed in SL too, I'm starting to get into the spirit of the season and I LOVE this time of year... There are so many things going on and so much fun to be had, but one of those things that I may need a little more practice in for during the Halloween Season is apple bobbing... 

I love all things Halloween but I have NEVER been very good at Bobbing for Apples. Do people even still do that anymore? Has it all stopped since Covid ruined things? What the heck, this year I will be good and ready, I'm gonna get some practice in before October comes... I've rigged up a game for myself, a full Apple Bobbing Bucket - thanks to MadPea at the current round of ACCESS until October 8th - filled with some delicious red apples.. It's a chill day, I've wrapped up warm in a cute Isla outfit from miss chelsea, and made sure my friendly Autumn Bears were wrapped up Cozy too...

Wrong Turn!

Having fun at the beach is always fun. I LOVE being on the beach in a storm, I love collecting seashells and sea glass, I love gazing into the distance and watching the waves... My mother could spend HOURS floating around in the sea, I don't like to swim in the sea though because I'm a little on edge about the fishies lol... Some people LOVE being sporty on the beach with running or some extreme watersports. I've even seen places where you can zorb on the water...

While I sat on the beach buried in a book, Rudh decided to try her hand at zorbing, slipping into the Giant Ball - created by MadPea, and available until September 8th at ACCESS - and running around on the waves... 
After a little while all that running made her start to feel tired. She fell in the ball and within minutes she was caught up on the tied, swept away on an adventure, taking a wrong turn on the current she ended up floating further away than anyone would have ever realised... 
Dressed for the beach and not for the snow, it's hard to get the penguins - an older release from Jian that could come in handy soon since the winter is coming fast - to take her seriously... Anyone know how to ask for directions home in penguin?!
