Fancy Dinners at the Velvet Nocturne

It's my turn to cook dinner today and I'm really not in the mood for anything special... You know how some days it's "I'm really craving...", then there are the days when no one in the house can decide what they want for dinner and it becomes again of "I dunno, what do you want?", today I'm having one of those "I'll make something easy" kinda feelings... Something that reminds me of home and makes people in Holland look at me like I'm bonkers until they taste it! Nothing fancy though like I said...

Rudh on the other hand is going to one of those super fancy, masquerade dinners held by the local vampire elites... They've provided the most decadent of starters for our little sea monster... Pearls in the shell with caviar and oysters... 
The theme of the night is that of decadence... A party fit for Midas and his touch of gold, a place where the Greek Gods of old would feel welcome. Rudh is dripping in pearls, wearing the hands of Hermes - from Tentacio - as her mask and a dress of spun golden roses - which is actually the Rose Dress from AsteroidBox at this month's round of Collabor88, I'll admit as much as I loved the front, the BACK was just *chef's kiss* and I feel we need to give the back of garments more love sometimes LOL - and it's a perfect look for an evening at the Velvet Nocturne - from Synnergy.Tavis - don't you think?

A Raven Princess on a Ghostly Path

I dont wanna keep going on about how crap life is at the moment but it's a general feeling and I'm sorry that I feel that way... I am trying hard so many times to let myself get swept up in a fantasy, but there are things that always keep dragging me back down... 
I felt like I needed a chance to escape again and I want to be anywhere else, so I let myself slip off into the late evening and become a Raven Queen... 

This evening, as the sun is setting, our salvage princess has decided to take a walk along the Ghostly Path - a backdrop from K&S - but she's not alone. A Corvus Princess from the Salvage Station cannot be allowed to walk alone, she's had to take her avian friends with her... Hiding from the light under her Pipe Parasol, and even though it's ripped, it's still great for keeping the last light of the day away from her pale skin...

Monarch Butterfly Dance

I've worked for the last 4 days in a row so that today the hubby and I could be at home to work on a few things that need to be done in the house before the windows are changed next week... I am feeling beyond tired, my body has aches in places that I didn't know could ache and my mind is mostly wondering when it can go back to sleep... I'm proud of what we got done today... 
I Needed to let my mind wander today, I needed to do something a little different from the every day normal in Real Life, I needed a slice of fantasy... 

I NEEDED some fun, I found something gorgeous I HAD to find a way to let my hair down so that I can relax after a long day of hard work. I couldn't let myself avoid the chance I discovered today... 
I went to one of my favourite places for exploring, the gorgeous Kaleidoscope Monarch Education Project location and I made sure that I dressed the part... A gorgeous little Monarch Butterfly Fae to dance amongst her new found friends...

Roses on the Royal Grave

As always with me you can NEVER tell me which type of mood I'll be in when I start to plan out something for a blog post of the day. I love the fact that I can just open my wardrobe, see what is new to play with and then just see where an item that I picked out will take me... 
Today was a dark and sad and depressed kinda mood today and the result was something partially medieval princess, partially gothic funeral... 

After the death of the king, his undead princess bride was only able to briefly attend his burial before the people of the town started arriving to pay their respects with the rising of the sun... 
She's still bleeding through her pearls from the last bite he ever took, and she hides her face and hair under the trappings of a Solemn Bride - from Static - but just before the sun rises she takes one last rose and casts it into the open grave as the Gravediggers - which is actually the name of the backdrop from FOXCITY - start to bury him in the eternal darkness... 
On a side note, aside from the story I was creating in my head as I set out this blog post, I HAVE to make a little point of sharing this gorgeous Nightshade tube style dress with you... It's part of an outfit from Psycho Barbie, that is available at the main store, with a fluffy off the shoulder cardigan/jacket also being available!!! The patterns and colours are fab, perfect for hot goth girl summer!!!!

Fairy Defence in the Darkness!

Sometimes I have a craving when it comes to blogging to do things that are NOT normal and let myslf get lost in a fairytale, be that a good or a dark one... Being lost in a fairytale really helps me with my mental state and right now being lost feels like a great idea. There is just too much going on in my own little world, as well as in the real world, and without complaining here too much I feel like I'm losing the battle pretty fast... So step back from the norm Rudh and find a way to embrace the darkness... My darkness feels like a HUGE monster, lets make him more friendly and things will calm down once more?! I hope... 

In the garden of the Spinners, my monster floats through the light that breaks through the trees and the darkness... He's a cloaked Hornswoggle - made by Tardfish, available at the Fantasy Faire Aventurine Promenade to raise money for Race for Life - and though he lurks in the dark, when he comes into the light he's a lot less scary and more like a Ringwraith from the Lord of the Rings... 
He's always trying to scare the fae folk that wander through the gardens.. Rudh as a sassy little fae isn't one to mess with. I guess that's why I decided to take on my monster as a fae today... She's a little thorny, but she sparkles in the dark so that the monsters are intimidated. She's armed with her Willowvine Wand - from Simply Shelby at the Fantasy Faire Stoneveil Crossing Sim - and the magic within will keep her monster at bay...

Chinese New Year

It feels like a lot is happening all at once in a Spiritual sense at the moment... There are so many different religious and cultural things going on in the world at the same time right now and it feels kinda different that everyone is celebrating something spiritual all at once. It would be nice if it would unite the world a little more, bring us all together since we're all a little closer to our spirituality right now but I doubt very much that will be the case since we all feel so broken... 

Now I know that I am NOT a religious person. I definitely believe in spiritual things, I am always going to believe in fairies and magic, and I LOVE all of the stories from different religions that are uplifting and full of meaning, and I REALLY hope I'm not going to cause offence but I don't like to think anyone's beliefs are more important than anyone elses... I love that we can all be different and believe what we choose, so long as it doesn't harm anyone - yes I KNOW that Wars are constantly, even now, being fought over religious reasons - but it would be such a boring world to live in, if EVERYONE thought the same, believed in the same, dressed the same or acted in the same way... That's my 10cents anyway...
I'm not trying to offend anyone, but I wanted to look a little at some of the current spirituality taking place that I know little about... Besides things I learnt at school there is SO MUCH TO KNOW about two big things taking place right now... Today I will be looking a little at the Chinese Lunar New Year.
So, for us that are not in the know, what is Chinese New Year?
Well apparently it's the most important Chinese Holiday, covering 15 days to celebrate the start of the Lunar New Year, and this year it started on February 17th - yes I KNOW I'm two days late, but I'm moving houses at the moment, give me some slack lol... The reason for the celebration is that it's a start of change, it celebrates family - often honouring ancestors - saying goodbye to the old and welcoming the new fortune for the new year. The whole celebration will culminate 15 days after it starts - so that's March 3rd - with the Lantern Festival!
Another interesting thing that I've often seen but never really thought much of, is that the Chinese Zodiac characters are animal based. Now there is a LOT of information about this, and I could basically write a whole other blog post for it, but this year is the year of the Horse - apparently as I was born in 1986 I am from the year of the Fire Tiger! 
Anyway, thank you for listening to me ramble and learn something new as I went along, I actually really enjoyed looking into something I knew little about and putting together a post for it. I think I will try it more often, and don't worry as always there will be something pretty to look at with a list of what I've got in the picture too... Just accept my ramblings LOL you know you want to...

Welcome to the Dark Hotel

The darkness is still lingering and I am not ready to kick it out just yet... I mean there will be lots of pretty Autumnness coming I'm sure, because I NEED to let that out before the mania that is Christmas will start... 
I LOVE the darkness, it's helping me feel better about myself and the situations that I am dealing with at the moment and since everything is getting a little too crazy I might take myself away for a while and check myself into somewhere for a rest... 

The Dark Hotel - a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - is the perfect place to rest and decompress after the fun of Halloween... I've checked in and left my bags ready to be collected by the porter, and while waiting I've met some of the most wonderful locals and their pets - which happen to come with the Wini Dress from Mug. Come On, Play With Fire...

I am going to rant tonight about pet peeves because today people were getting on my nerves... I KNOW everyone has pet peeves, things that irritate them that other people do and I know that I may even be someone who irritates others around me but while working I've definitely developed a longer list of things that people that do that irritate the heck outta me... So let's discuss things shall we?! 

I've said it regularly that I work in retail tourism, but that would be in a cheese shop for those of you that are interested, and working in a setting like that you see so many things on a daily basis that make me wanna slap someone...
Firstly, one of the things is the way people act around free samples... Putting dirty hands into bowls of cheese after pushing the tongs used for picking them up out of the way, is just RUDE... Barging people out of the way just to get at the free samples, is just RUDE... Acting like free samples is anal you can eat buffet, is just RUDE... Though I think for me, one of the worst that I have to just shake my head and walk away from HAS to be the way people chew... Slapping their lips when they chew UGHHHH...
Don't even get me started on people that chew gum - which I am totally not against - and then rather thanputting the gum into the bin, they stick it under the table top or the nearest shelf... That's not just rude, that's a DICK MOVE!!!! If I see anyone doing that, they are playing with fire...

Card Magic for a Royal?!

I am currently in a VERY deep rut... I seem to put together an outfit that I LOVE, that I feel happy showing off and being seen in, and then when it comes down to actually taking the picture, I feel like I'm way off and it's not good enough. I don't know if I'm just in an unhappy place right now, or if I'm genuinely just over thinking that my pictures aren't what I want them to be and subconciously comparing them to others again... It's like being a magician that's rubbish at card tricks right now... 

I'd never be a good magician I am far too worried about putting on a good show and I'd end up being ill... I'm terrible at putting on a show, though saying that I put on a show of being happy and confident and smily most of the time and right now that mask has slipped... 
I feel like I'd be lost in my own mind, a Wonderland of sorts and I feel lost... Magic or no magic, I'm feeling lost... One thing I do know is that I can still put a kick ass outfit together, least I won't lose that skill I suppose, but then that's like putting on a mask and I'm very good at that... 
Knowing me, I'd be wandering down a Grand Hall - a backdrop from Paparazzi - heading to do a magic show for the queen and it would all go horribly wrong...

Raise Hell Baby!

I've been in doubts whether to talk about this but I'm feeling emotional since seeing Ozzy Osbourne, and Black Sabbath's final concert on TV the other day. It's all over social media if you haven't seen it and it looks like the best concert ever... I wish I'd been able to be there... It looked like such a happy event, even though there was the saddest of undertones that it was the last ever time we will see Ozzy perform... 
It's woken up the darkness in me... The Prince of Darkness may be retiring but his legacy will forever live on... 

The dark little fallen angel in me had a tear in her eye on waking today and seeing a the amazing clips all over the internet... Seeing the Prince of Darkness on his elaborate throne, he seemed to be loving life although wishing he could jump around and rule the stage like he once had... 
I'm dressed and ready for a litte fun now that I've woken from my slumber, I've primped my wings, pulled on a party hat and grabbed a flask full of something naughty... Now that the Prince of Darkness has retired I think it'stime we raise a little hell...

Chained Not Tied!

I am often influenced by the things going on around me... So far I've been to a Caribbean Beach because of a tv show I'm watching, and I've had lasagne because my hubby likes to cook it, but today is a little different from my normal picture wise... It's been a LONG TIME since I did something really kinky, but I guess the things that I read have filtered through my picture taking decision making, and I ended up doing something saucy... 

I've been reading a LOT of smut over the past year or so and some of it definitely sticks with me more than others... I've been collecting an array of book boyfriends, I've unlocked some new kinks that I've never even thought would cross my radar, and I've dived in to a lot of different plots. I love a grumpy/sunshine, I love aa forced proximity, and stalking masked men make me weak - of course I'd probably have a heart attack if it happened in RL lol because I am a wuss - but even though they haven't been my favourites some of these stories have stuck in the back of my mind... Still Beating by Jennifer Hartmann is one of those stories about a girl and her sister's fiance trapped in a basement and forced into a horrible situation. That's been in my mind, it happened because I was trying to come up with a way to show off the amazing Chained Obsession - from Six Feet Under, available now at Kinky - and I think it turned out pretty much still beating hehe...

Summer Beach Work

I work in retail in RL, I'm sure you may have seen me say that once or twice... I'm currently watching a British TV series called "Death in Paradise" and I think that at the moment these things are coming together in my mind so that I ended up on a paradise beach selling fruits... It sounds like a perfect place to be right now... 

Death in Paradise is set in the Caribbean, filmed in Guadaloupe although the island in the stories is imaginary... 
Now if I was relaxed enough to be chilling on the beach, playing or perhaps just making noise on my Ukulele - a release from Junk Food, available until July 17th at Anthology - I don't think I'd be looking as comfortable as I am... Sitting around at my Seabreeze Fruit Shack - a release from Dust Bunny for this year's Summerfest event - I think I'm likely to be more than a little sunburnt!!!

A Drink in the Moonlight

It is insanely hot here in the Netherlands and our homes are DEFINITELY meant to hold the heat rather than release it... It's one of the reasons that Summer and I do not get on LOL... This timeof year I find myself wishing I could be more of a night owl or perhaps a Vampire... I've been around the hospital too much lol wanting to be in the night and suddenly reminded of the smell of blood... 

I know that Vampires are often portrayed as the monsters, but in this day and age that should be altered in my mind. People are just as bad if not worse, and they come with a lot less grace... I love things that are Vamp based, Twilight aside because that was just silly nonsense I mean he sparkled and they gave birth to a demon-like baby... I'm still mourning the finale of What we do in the shadows, and love the glamour that often comes with a lady of the dark... 
I think now days we have enough blood banks, we should learn to share what extra we have with the Vamps and then leave them to dance through the shadows and the moonlight...

Let the Music Take You...

I've had a long day at work but fancied spending a little time on my own to write something and let off some steam... 
I got soaked on my way home today, so now I'm sat curled under a blanket, listening to some soft music that will make me happier and find myself singing along...

When you hear that favourite song, it alters the mood and no matter how you are feeling it can be hard not to sing along... The first few notes just hit right... 
For me there are lots of songs that remain my favourites but no matter my mood if I hear "Wash it all away" by Five Finger Death Punch, or Take That's "Make this life yours" - in fact ANYTHING by Take That really - I will be much happier when the song is done... It always makes me laugh when I tell people my two favourites are Take That and Five Finger Death Punch...

The Free Red Light Library!

I was supposed to have the day off today, but being the Ass Man at work, that wasn't able to happen. It meant I had to leave and head into the city, and face the most disgusting Amsterdam that happens all year... It's horrible and I'd hate to be a tourist expecting a beautiful city on the day after King's Day... 
I seemed to spend a lot of time waiting, and it got my mind wandering... I was scrolling through the internet and wishing I lived in a place where I could have a free library with my neighbours... It led to my mind going off in a different directions... 

I was wondering about these free libraries, but rather than a neighbourhood library and books, I was wondering how things would go with a free "library" in the Red Light District... Perhaps they'd repurpose an old phone box, to become a London Style Shelf - like the one that was released by Boutique #187 for Man Cave - and they might have the odd toy to play with but I'm sure the hookers would LOVE some steamy reading to enjoy while they wait for their next client...

Nomadic Desert Warrior

It's that time again, the magical beings of Second Life are heading in one direction, heading towards the ethereal meeting place that is the Midnight Order. Normally the Midnight Order is hidden in the dark mysts, only appearing a few times a year for the magical spirits to stock up on things for their potions, contact those they need and learn the secrets that are whispered in the shadows... Midnight Order is a place to meet, greet and learn, that's why they come from miles around... 

Each of the people heading for the Midnight Order is different, the mixture of characters and their origin stories is as mystical as the event itself... Hence why they come from across the distance to be there... From the snow regions, from the stars and even across the driest of deserts, stopping in the oasis for the night to be fresh for the doors of the Midnight Order to open on the morrow...

Ready to Hustle

I've been having a lovely lazy Sunday, it's great when things are few and far between and I get to have a lazy day. I fed the washing machine, and then decided to get myself busy... I was going to get my hustle on, a chance to make a little cash and get into the action, while having myself some fun along the way... 

I'm gonna get my hustle on, I wanna go learn something new... I am going to learn all about the game of Pool so that I can become a pool shark... There's a brand new Pool Hall opened up in the Cocktails & Dreams Bar - a backdrop created by Synnergy.Tavis - but if you ook for the weird guy in the white t-shirt, he will teach you all the tricks of the trade for a cut of the profits... 
One thing he taught me was to look cute but casual, dressing up too much might make me seem like too much of a trickster, so cute but casual it is... Some simple but decorated Sweet Soul Jeans - which happen to be a new release from The Kiwi Co and although the release also includes a cardigan and boots, it's the pants that win the coo points from this reease for me - and a comfy but giving a cute reveal  of a little skin in the form of a Tuli Sweater - from miss chelsea - on top and I think I am ready to hustle in the pool hall and win the big bucks, or at least a drink or two...

Welcome to Gingerbread Town

 I want to find the Christmas magic... It still seems to be evading me a little bit, and I am more excited by the fact that a couple of days after Christmas I get to go home to see my parents and my sister and see her new house... I CANNOT WAIT!!! Maybe that's where my festive magic will be, maybe that's the time I am waiting for, and right now maybe once the big day will arrive I'll suddenly be feeling it... 
Still until then, I will do whatever I can to find that festive feeling... Even let my mind take me to far off, and maybe imaginary places...

Good Times for Dolls in Malibu Baby

One thing I love about my form of blogging is that as I'm so random I never know what will come out of my brain at any time... I LOVE being something pretty and fantastical, I love being dark and twisted and I LOVE being bright, colourful and weird... Some days I'm more random than others, and today for some reason I've had the Barbie Girl song rammed deep in my brain... That lead to me being invited to a very strange party... 

When my friend said "hey there is a new party location in Malibu Baby - a backdrop from FOXCITY by the way - called "Good Times" - with a sign made by Krescendo for the current round of Man Cave - that has a cinema, pool and a dance club... It was the perfect place for a doll, living or dead like me to explore. So I got myself all dolled up, something Barbie-esque, lots of pink and cute - in a shirt from Adora-tions, and a pink fluffy coat from GABRIEL - but I feel like I had a bit of a wires crossed moment... 
The kind of dolls that were to be found poolside were not what I was expecting... The Blowup Bettys and Blowup Barrys - a release from MadPea for the current round of ACCESS until December 8th - are strutting their stuff, checking each other out and there's an undercurrent of sexiness... Weird looks on their faces and far too much rubber skin on show... Still, I hope they all find happiness, it's just not the hangout place for me...

Reminders of Seductions Past

Seduction is a dangerous thing. Second Life is often portrayed in a bad light, due to the press it's received and the inclusion in shows that made it out to be ful of catfish, stalkers and murderers... I try to defend this social platform whenever I can, but more often than not it's better not to waste your breath... 
There is some truth to the sexual side of Second Life, and although it's not as it's often portrayed in the media, there is definitely a smuttier side to our online community, one that can be fun if you dive into your kinks deeply enough... 

Since I've been married to HellBone I've been a very good girl but before him, I was a bit of a bad girl... Maybe more than a bit... A lot might be closer to the mark... I loved nothing more than to tease, and I was good at it too. Second Life was the perfect place to do that, to live out those little fantasies and enjoy the company of some very like minded people... I let my mind wander and my fantasies sore, with human avies and demonic ones, with kinks that were mine and those of the others involved... It changed me, and marked me for life... 
I'm showing off today, dancing for the boys aiming to Seduce and Destroy - thanks to the backdrop from blaink - but while I dance I'm reminded of those memories that matter.
