Froggin' Fishin'!

It's been a Lazy Sunday, and there has been nothing much going on in my life except a day to relax... Boy was it necessary, it was lovely and so very necessary... 
I kicked back and let myself have a day of NOTHING that has left me feeling relaxed and comforted... 

Today I wanted to take a day of just chillaxation by doing something I don't normally have a chance to do... Nothing... 
I decided to take the day that I would be "Gone Fishing" - a backdrop that I have actually altered a little by adding some swamp like things such as the trees and the grasses and things, to the Synnergy.Tavis Gone Fishing Backdrop - I wanted to be a lazy little Frog - thanks to the idea coming out from the BeSpoke Frog Gizzy head and the Feet Frog - and spend the day fishing in the bayou!

Tulip Season!

The sun has been shinging so much lately and it really feels like feels like the Spring has finally sprung  around here. I love all of the flowers that seem to be popping up, and brightening up the world and I SERIOUSLY think there are so many peopleout there that need to stop and smell the flowers. The world is a scary place right now, and things are chaos and it's more than a little scary. We all need to stop and smell the flowers... 

One of the best places to get themselves a lovely place to stop and smell the flowers is very close to where I am currently living... The area surrounding the farm I'm staying on is surrounded by row upon row of tulip fields apparently. I'm waiting to see all the colours pop, everything looks a little too green at the moment... 
I'm going to wait until it's just right and then head out into the fields to get myself one of those instagram pinterest style aesthetic photos... 
If I can't in RL then I may well just do it in Second Life... I have the perfect outfit all ready, a cute little Posy Set - from miss chelsea, available until March 30th at Anthem - and I'm ready to stop and smell the flowers, making sure that I have some to take home...

New Year's Glam

Today is New Year's Eve and I'm happy to report that I am going to be celebrating with my parents in the UK... SO yes, technically I am away and not really able to function much on SL, but you should know me better than this, you should know that I am addicted and cannot pass a special event like the changing of the year without actually acknowledging things... 
Let's make things a little more festively sparkly for the changing of the year shall we... 

I wasn't sure what I wanted my last picture for 2025 to be, it took a little while but I KNEW I wanted to do somethin reasonably New Year's Glam ish... I'm not doing anything glam in my RL, just a quiet night with my parents probably watching the Christmas episode of Strictly Come Dancing LOL... AND I am very very very happy with that plan... I avoided the Dutch Firework Chaos after all... 
SO let's just imagine we're going to a glamourous New Year Party shall we... One with lots of delicious hors d'oeuvres and champagne... HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!! Be careful out there but have a wonderful celebration tonight...

Have A Nice Day...

Finally I've had a day off, and it seems like it was a blink and I missed it situation. There was drama that my hubby has now taken over sorting out, and all I seemed to do was laundry. I didn't even get a chance to finish my book like I had planned to... I just need more of a break... I need more time to relax... I need a break! 

I LOVE my job, sometimes we get to meet the nicest people and have fun doing so. The company I work for is brilliant and we're all treated like a member of the family in a family business... Then there are the customers that make me really question people and their way of living... Sometimes I wonder if Corona actually happened, or did I imagine it considering the way that people eat the samples I've set out. There is definitely a lack of manners and respect in some people, that's not restricted to age, sex, race or culture. There are horrible people from everywhere you can imagine... 
The worst part of all of this, is I have to be polite and welcoming and wish them a pleasant day rather than being able to wish them the kind of day they deserve... Since I've been such a good girl, not thinking of ways to murder everyone I think I deserve a bit of a break...

It's King's Day 2025!

Today is King's Day in the Netherlands. Normally it's held on April 27th, which is the actual day of King Willem-Alexander's Birthday, but since it's a Sunday and he doesn't wanna work we're all celebrating today... I joke I think it's a religious thing, but that does mean I get today off as the shop I work in is shut and I'm not complaining about it LOL... What is King's Day? What happens on King's Day? For those of you that have no idea, now I'm about to fill you in on the fun... 

King's Day, or Koningsdag to use it's real name, is a celebration every year for King Willem-Alexander's birthday... It can be lots of different things for different people, but most consider the day a party. Where I live in Zaandam, we have a Fair full of rides, snacks and amusement arcade games, and there is a free market where people are able to just set up in the park and sell their unwanted stuff... 
Hubby and I went over for a walk and I found a few treasures to make myself happy, and we picked upsome Olibolen which are like doughnut balls covered in powered sugar, and are DELICIOUS when hot and fresh... 
Along with the lesson I felt it was only right to share a few Dutch Snacks like some hot Snert or Pea Soup, a few Bitterballen and Gouda Bites and even some Hollandse Maatjes, that's Herring to those who don't speak Dutch, washed down with a shot of Jenever, as a picnic by the windmills in a tulip field...

Valentine's Treats!

I know that I have said that I am away in the UK, and that I wouldn't be blogging anything because I'm having family time... Well... That was a kinda fib on my part, it's Valentine's Day and I wouldn't have been able to pass this romance filled day by without sharing SOMETHING on my rambling space would I?! If you answered yes to that, I wonder, do you even know me at all? LOL... Of course I'd find the time to do something full of romance and hearts and far too much sweetness... 

Of course, I will admit that I KNEW there might be something coming. I got ahead of myself and set something up before I left home because I knew myself and that I simply couldn't pass by a day like Valentine's without having something to say here lol... It's an addiction I fully admit to, and I'm going to own it... 
So I'll keep things short and sweet today, and send lots of love hugs and kisses... Remember to love yourself today, doesn't matter if you're in the self-love club or you're happily with someone... Loving yourself is an important step to greatness and if there is ONE PERSON in this world we should all be able to rely on, it's ourselves...

There's Red in the Bamboo!

I love using my blogging as a means to explore things that I wouldn't normally play around with. My basic style in SL is often dark and grungy, lots of black and plenty of metal, but my blog is full of so many random looks and styles because I LOVE the chance to play and do things that are different... 
One style that I tend to avoid is anything Asian... Japanese, Korean and Chinese dress is very popular in Second Life, but I always feel like I'm getting it wrong and although I LOVE seeing avatars that pull off the style, I always feel like it doesn't look right on me... Very occasionally though, something happens with a dress or an accessory, and my random rambling heads into a new territory for me... 

I've been whisked away on a trip to the bamboo forests of China - which in this case is actually a backdrop from Amitie - where the lanterns light the path through the bamboo to the Red Panda grove... The adorable little Red Pandas - a collection from the amazing JIAN - scamper through the wood, climbing in the trees and causing large amounts of chaos.
It was suggested that I needed to make sure they would accept my visit, I had to dress in the gorgeous Keya Dress - from miss chelsea, available at The Fifty until July 20th - so that I resembled their normal keepers, and wear some cute Red Panda Ears on a headband - although these are part of a set from HAZEL and are actually ears lol -so that they would get close enough to take the bamboo from my hand!!! Aren't they cute?!

Crystal Fae Make Fireworks...

First time this year I've had a chance to sit back and work on something pretty and fantastical and sparkly... 
I'm reminded me of the fireworks that had lit the sky as pretty sparkles, crystals of chemicals that create the colourful sparks... I don't mind fireworks IF they are far enough away that I cannot hear them... 
I wondered what magical being would be involved with the sparkles, that is until I met her under the microscope on the tip of a rocket... 

The Crystal Fire Fae is a dangerous little being, one of the more risky of the fae folk... She has a temper and will spark into a rage whenever she felt like it. She has sparks, she guards the chemicals that will be lighting the sky and waiting for the exact moment that the light will wow the people watching below... 
On a backdrop of Sodalsia - a backdrop from The Bearded Guy - the floating Crystal glows surrounded by it's firey counterparts, the skeletons of fae that have tried to take control magically murdered and the crystalisation occurs... 
The crystals protector radiates a red glow - the Crystal Fairy look comes in multiple colours from Forest Fantasy Store, available now until January 20th at Winter's Hollow - while crystals in other colours dance around her ready to assist her with the explosion that is to come...

Would it be Cannibalism?!

It is so hot in the Netherlands at the moment, the beginning of summer and the doors of the oven have been left open already. I just got home from a very long day of doing nothing too much at work and getting bored out of my mind. I get home and needed something cold to drink, I needed something with a little fizz to pep me up... 
There's a monster inside of me, and I need to feedher thirst hehehe... Technically though if that monster is a cola demon and it's a cola that she desires to drink, would that make her a cannibal?! 

I LOVE the way that this picture turned out... Everything about it from the amazing costume - which is part of the "Drink Me" Collection from Ananas at the current round of The Arcade - to which I added the amazing Ringpull Choker - from Six Feet Under, and although it's small in the picture I've added a close-up and a copy of the store ad so that you can see just how pretty it is! The can, with it's shiny aluminum has become part of her, so much that the little demon's horns are forged from the metal that makes the cans...

Hunting and Toasting Marshmallows

If you go down to the woods today, you'd better make sure it's the Witchwood... There's lots of awesome things to see and tickets for a festival... In each of the tickets you'll find, goodies stashed from outta the mind, of the awesome designer behind Petite Mort and Oubliette! 

(BTW, I sang that to myself while I was writing it to the song about a Teddybears Picnic LOL, I'm so lame!) 

So as I so badly sang to myself like a weirdo, there is a few reasons to head on down to the joint home of Petite Mort and Oubliette - better known as Witchwood - two awesome big ones actually... Sleigh Rides with Jingle Bells

Been listening to my MC baby sister talking about the sleigh rides that she runs from her RL family farm and it sounded so pretty that I kinda had to get in on the act... I don't have a horse though, so I guess for me the best option was to do something SL based, and wow I found the perfect place and the perfect horsey companion! We went for a sleigh ride through The Forest's Winter Wonderland. 

While we're taking a walk through the I wanted to get that gorgeous sleigh bells sound, so I'm adding some to my new friend, over his harness and just a few more that I'm holding in my hand - thanks to the awesome Jubal Hand Chain from AsteroidBox. 
I'm wrapped up all warm and cosy thanks to my new Winter Coat - from Fika, available at the Winter Spirit - and even have my own little bells so that my new horse friend and I can jingle together... 
Question is now, does anyone want to come for a sleigh ride?!
