Mardi Gras!

Today is Mardi Gras... Apparently... Honestly I had a bit of a shock the other day. I have in the past decided to look into holidays of other cultures to broaden my horizons and give me lots of information about things I didn't know... One thing I wasn't expecting when I decided to learn about Mardi Gras was that it is actually a day I know fairly well... Mardi Gras is the French celebration translated as Fat Tuesday, known to me with my Brit roots as Pancake Day, or Shrove Tuesday... 

So what is Mardi Gras and what random interesting things do I know about it... When I think of Mardi Gras I think of New Orleans, it's a party to celebrate the end of Carnival, and just like Shrove Tuesday in the UK, where it's common practice to stuff ourselves with pancakes, it's the last day of eating heavy, rich, fatty foods before the Christian Festival of Lent... 
I know the parties of Carnival can be crazy, they celebrate here in the Netherlands too, but one day I'd love to see how it's done in New Orleans whilst stuffing down some delicious pancakes LOL...

The Flowers have Eyes

 It's been an eventful day for me, I went on a RL adventure to another location and it's always interesting as an adventure goes... Whenever I go on an adventure in RL, I find myself wanting to go on adventures in my SL as well... As it's almost Halloween, I can do just that, I can let my mind wander off to a magical place, where the flowers have a very dark almost Wonderland feel, and their caretaker is more than a little green fingered and unseelie... 

This garden has a lot of the wonder, a little of the magic and a lot more of the creepy... The Roses have eyes, the flowers have a spidery look, and even the trees are twisted and curly - thanks to LOVE - but still it's the eyes that are the strangest parts of this garden... The flowers communicate with the fae that her, half fae, half demon - a release from Forest Fantasy Store with additional greenery from GERMINAL in the After Dark Green Tattoo and Drow Sleeves - seems to be sprouting from her body. She's a Forest Fae - in an outfit from Decoy - with a touch of darkness in her wings - from Quills & Curiosities - but she's really a Shy Eyeris - thanks to the awesome flowers from Tardfish.

This Milkshake is bloomin' MOOVELOUS!

I've been very much playing around with different looks lately, and I KNOW that this seems to be something that has appeared a little lately, but for some reason today I found out that I like being a little cow... Drove the hubby made repeatedly singing "My Milkshake brings all the boys to the Barn", and yes I know it's the wrong words but I was in a Barn, not a yard LOL... It's been a lot of fun, frolicking like a cute little calf for the day!!! It's getting late though, so maybe I should finish my moovelous day with some milk and cookies, before I hit the hay! 

I feel like I make an adorable little cow, something that I never thought I'd actually say - although Hell has been known to call me a Cow, and a Heffer, at various times! I look so stinking cute!! 
I wasn't planning on doing the whole cow look until I stumbled upon a sMoochie tattoo - that's the cow print tattoo from Oddysee by the way - that I had bought on a discount weekend sale and stashed away for a rainy day, and then remembered the amazing CryBunBun Breathless Corset that I'd bought in the So Kawaii Sundays sale this weekend had a cow print version... I was frolicking like a little calf the first time they go outside in the spring, I was... 
Now would my milkshakes bring all the boys and girls to the barn? They come in strawberry, chocolate and vanilla flavours!! Or if you don't like that we have regular milk too... OH AND COOKIES... Who doesn't want milk and cookies?!

Now that Christmas is over...

 I love Christmas, but thank goodness that it´s over. We have a lovely, peaceful and very relaxing holiday season, but every year my favourite time is actually the few days after Christmas has passed when you can just wallow into warm, cozy feeling... My house looks like absolute chaos, there´s still paper waiting to be put into the trash bin out back, and my refrigerator is stuffed full of leftovers. Aside from Halloween, it´s the most wonderful time of year!

I´ve chucked all my festive, Christmas clothing back into closet and pulled on something a little more normal for me - an adorable Resurrected dress from Psycho Barbie - and some super spiked Widow Boots - from Addicted Apothecary - I started to feel more normal. A bottle of wine or two, and well I started having trouble eating the plate of cookies I´d brought to munch on.

Destroyer of All Things!

 I've been chatting with one of my MC Brother about his new puppies a lot lately, so much in fact that he's swamping the Gators with pictures of the adorable, terrible twosome... His house looks like a doggy toy graveyard! He says no matter how much he cleans it, there is ALWAYS cotton stuffing from the toys... Now I love puppies, and I love plushies, and my dog when she was little got her teeth on my favourite childhood stuffed animal - trust me she only did it the once! Yet both those things got me thinking, and well... Thinking can lead to some adorable pictures... 

The puppy - a Scruffy Shepherd from Jian in this case - was just chilling in my house, being cute when things got very quiet... I turned to check and the little asshole was ripping into teddy!!! My little teddy Sakura had become a very scared little Victim Bear... Just fluff and stuffing!! 
Anyone know how to lead a funeral for a teddy?!

Morning Coffee & Blunts

It's early - well early-ish - for me on the first day of many lazy days off, and I think today I'm going to try and do more than one post to see what interesting things I can get up to... First and foremost today though, it's COFFEE time. I'm also about to have my dog turned into fluffy slippers, since she's the reason I'm awake so early TWO DAYS IN A ROW!!! 
Calm down Rudh... Coffee and maybe if I'm lucky a blunt too... Start the day well... 

Gotta love dogs, aren't they wonderful when they behave like little buggers?! People say to me why don't you have kids, my answer is usually along the lines of my fur babies being bad enough LOL... 
Still... COFFEE!!! I want a mug like the one in the picture in RL please, this is the perfect coffee cup for someone you don't know... I mean you can offer them milk and sugar or you can put it in their cup like this and they can decide... FIKA makes an excellent cup of coffee by the way, miles better than those coffee places like Starbucks! 
Another plus side to drinking coffee at home is being able to smoke a blunt in your jammies!! I picked up some pre-rolled blunts from Junk Food, because I'm far too lazy to roll my own in the morning, and it makes for a great start to the day, lounging on the sofa with a coffee in one hand and a blunt in the other! 
I'll also add that my outfit isn't technically jammies, it's the first thing that I threw on when I crawled like a demon from the pit, outta my bed! It's an adorable Kitty Hoody from MuggleBorn that will be available soon for the exciting event that is the MadPea Productions Pet Friends Fair!
Anyway, maybe when I've woken up a little I will be able to do some more, for now though it seems my coffee cup is empty and I have to go make some more!

Surfy Snacks on a Heavenly Beach

Can you hear that rumbling in the distance... It's the sound of hundreds, if not thousands, of Secondlife's residents stamping their feet, pawing the ground and getting ready to charge... The biggest event of the quater is coming, and no matter if you love or hate it, The Arcade is always a major talking point.
Personally myself I am a yardsale shopper... I know that some designers are a little anti yardsales, but if I want things to have a complete set then I will always check out a yardsale to collect things. I have no problem with gacha machines in which I wouldn't mind what colour or design I get but for full collections, I just cannot afford to keep hitting a game of chance!
Anyway, before the craziness of The Arcade starts tomorrow, I am sending you a picture of my personal beachy heaven... The place I am relaxing before I join the other crazy shoppers to get my Arcade goodies...

The beach is a little slice of paradise, totally alone and peaceful... I jumped off my boat and found that the last person who'd found this deserted beach had thoughtfully left their hammock hanging for me.
Unloading my cooler and grabbing my beach towel tote, I skipped up the beach before heading back to grab the table and pop-up BBQ that I brought with me...
But it was the food that I am most looking forward too... Kebab skewers and shrimp on the barbeque, chips and dips and MMMMM look at that watermelon!!!

Makes heaven just that little bit more heavenly. The Lost Junction Surfy Snacks - available at the Arcade from tomorrow - are perfect for the beach and are making me hungry in RL...
Time to go find some lunch!!!

Sundays are Lazy Days

Sunday Morning... Gotta love those... Times for being lazy, putting your feet up and resting before the beginning of the crazy week ahead. Thankfully I am feeling much better than I have been as of late, and am finally ready to rock 'n' roll - about freaking time too... Though as it is Sunday, I plan on having a very relaxing day, a day without HellBone as he is in RL with the B.A.C.A and I am left alone with the dog and cat...
I think it makes for a perfect PJ day, during which I will no doubt read some, watch some tv - perhaps even as I did when I was a kid I will watch Sunday Morning Cartoons - and chow down on lots and lots of cereal!!! Maybe I'll even let Rudh in on the act! 

She was already dressed when I found her this morning, but I have to admit that I am a little jealous... The lucky bugger popped open a new box of Lost Junction's Berry Princess Cereal - that she had bought at the new Arcade this month - and she won the prize... A Fairy Wand no less... Lucky Bugger! 
Her outfit today makes me laugh though, looking fairly casual in her favourite yellow Blueberry shirt, she seems to have had a little accident! 
The Wooden Leg - a Poisoned Diamond creation - she has on, I am not sure if she is pranking me or if she had a nasty accident in my absence, but at least she colour coordinated it perfectly with her new Handstitched Leather Leggings from lassitude & ennui...

We've got our Eyes on You!

It's not often that I pose with people, and even less often that I pose with this person, but last night had I had a chance to plan a photo shoot with the awesome Manky of Rosemary & Sage Blog Fame... 
The Rosemary & Sage blog is a newish blog on the blogger circuit, but it's great! Filled with amazing pictures of gorgeous looks for men and women - as well as looks that could work for both sexes too! It's definitely one that I would suggest you check out!!! Do it, Do It NOW!!!

Now, it's not often that we ever dress alike too... I usually end up looking like there has been an explosion in a junk store and look what I threw together, but thanks to TAG! Gacha and Pixicat, the eyes had to be shared hehe... 
We're wearing Pixicat's All Seeing Outfits, which yes are available for TAG! Gacha until October 31st. Our different styles came through when it came to accessorising; the cute bow and heels covering the blood splattered feet were on Manky - normally they may have appeared on me lol - but I kept it kinda subdued with a pair of CandyDoll boots and a simple collar. 
Manky then did the decorating... I have to say I felt lucky, I don't have the eye for it quite like Manky - although OK at the moment I have a lot of different eyes LOL...

Looking to the sky for the perfect outfit...

I've been so inspired with my picture taking recently and keep taking photos that I find myself in love with... So not all of them are the best but today I want to share with you one that I really love... like Really Really! The outfit was something a little crazy, the location was one I was shown by my SL sister Lil and well everything fell together so flawlessly that it brings a smile to my face. Don't you love it when this happens? 

The location I set up the telescope - OK it was already there and free to use, but just roll with me on this - was a place called Just Another Tequila Sunrise. This places has a very gorgeous and natural feel, plus if you're wanting to rez things all you need to do is join a group and voila! Luckily for me though, the telescope was already out and ready to use - it's a LISP one by the way! 
But it is the outfit that makes me feel the happiest. I LOVE the way it fell together and it looks so perfect! 
The dress is one from Valentina E that I bought way back now at the Wayward Carnival. I couldn't resist, it was crying out "BUY ME BUY ME" - but then I have a shopping addiction and a lot of things do that LOL... I just loved the Carnie look to it, and couldn't leave it behind. Then when I was accessorising I remembered this awesome bell necklace that I won from a gacha at the past round of Origami from a store called 白玉siratama and then I teamed it with a bow scarf from DRIFT... 
The thing that I think tied it all together was the adorable Bunhawk hair from Catwa... The outfit looked great but this messy style just made smile..
