Warning off the Wonderland Weirdoes!

Left alone for 5 minutes today, and in that time I managed to talk myself OUT of doing something too crazy when it comes to blogging, and INTO something crazy blogging wise that made me super happy... I love it when you can start with the smallest of items and think... WHAT THE HECK AM I GONNA DO WITH THIS? If you do it long enough, the outcome will surprise you, and it's THIS REASON that I've always said blogging is like a therapy for me, because I get distracted, I relax and magical things happen!!! Today, the magic happened in Wonderland... 

I dunno if you've realised this yet, maybe you have and it's OK if you haven't but sometimes my blogging gets a little strange LOL... When I get fantasy I always find myself slipping into a story, and there aren't many classics that seem as weird in their landscapes as Wonderland has always felt... It's easy for my tired mind to go there... 
Today a cuttle little Bunny - which is actually the head released by BeSpoke that comes with SO MANY options it's definitely worth checking out  - Girl found herself in Wonderland, looking for her friends that were hosting their tea party... Luckily she was warned in advanced to come prepared because the critters in this world can be a little pushy... She packed a can of Repellent Spray - from Boutique #187 that was released for Ouh Lala a while ago and should now be at the mainstore - to ward off the likes of the slightly mad Cheshire Cat...

Little Distractions...

Since Mum and Dad left yesterday, I've been feeling sad. I don't know if it's anything worse than I normally feel when they or I leave, but for some reason it DOES feel strange them not being around today... I've had time to relax a little but still not enough to make me feel fully relaxed... I am lucky that I'm off tomorrow, and I plan to get some household chores done before I'm back at work on Tuesday... 
Why am I rambling on about this now, I guess it's just a warning for the totally random picture today. I didn't know what I was doing, and I actually love the way things worked out, but still not sure where this came from lol... 

I am feeling a little off I'm sorry, I WILL be back on it very soon as soon as I've had some good time to rest up and let my mind reset... A Hangry Panda!

What do you do when you cannot plan on what you want to do for dinner? I torture myself every night with this question, and I KNOW it's hard when you are on your own but it feels just as hard when your partner says "I don't know, surprise me?" That answer makes me want to slap him... 
Try as hard as I might to be good and plan to cook something, or get the hubby to cook something since he seems to enjoy cooking, sometimes I cannot be arsed, and pull up the delivery app... Pizza, Ribs, Curry, Sushi, all of those things are delicious, but a Chinese meal seems to hit different...

I mean I LOVE SUSHI or a Curry, but noodles always seem to hit better when they are cooked at the take-away... Things are different here in Holland than they are in the UK, and when I go home next week I am hoping I'll get my hands on some sweet and sour chicken balls LOL, but until then I'm biding my time and just dreaming of Chinese food...

Festive Costume for the Ents

It's getting closer and closer, the big day is looming, a day that we've been working towards for weeks if not months. Christmas is coming. People everywhere are getting festive and it's definitley beginning to look a lot like Christmas... 
People seem to often enjoy dressing up all festive, be that in gorgeous outfits or in ugly Christmas sweaters, and it's not just the people that are involved... Fantasy beings are also getting into the Christmas Spirit... The Ents may even be in your home, masquerading as Christmas Trees... 

The Ents - in this case are an avatar collection from Forest Fantasy Store - are the tree folk, residents of Middle Earth that are protectors of the Fangorn Forest... BUT they don't often get to participate in the Christmas festivites.UNTIL NOW... 
A plan was hatched that meant they could come down out of the snowy woods and slip into the festivities in a very prominent but unknown way... Have you checked your Christmas Tree? Do the lights always hang the same? Have the Baubles twisted? Perhaps there is an Ent watching the festivities up close... Moths and Fluff in the Mind

It's Remembrance Day today in the Netherlands, and normally I spend my day focusing on the blood red poppies of Flanders Fields that have become a symbol of remembrance in the UK but today my mind has shifted a little... It feels like it's full of fluff as I have the start of a cold coming, but with everything going on in the world right now Remembrance Day has definitely shifted to become something more than just thinking about soldiers lost at war... I couldn't focus on poppies this year, I had to do something that made me feel thoughtful, allow me to remember in a different way and give me a moment to pause for thought... 

High up in the attic space where the light glows but is more than a little sombre, I sat in the glowing light of the late Autumn sunshine and closed my eyes. My head full of fluff as my mind wanders, I feel lost and alone in the sombre darkness... I am a doll in this life, and my face shows signs of breaking - an amazing accessory from KitCat called Stuffings TheDoll - while the butterflies of my imagination drift away in the light beams and dance through the quiet space... With everything going on in the world right now though, the way we remember the dead should change too, I love the poppies, I love the significance they hold and they will ALWAYS be important. Yet we need to just use this time as a moment to stop and pause, to think of anyone that had sacrificed themselves to save those of us that live on, no matter where they are, what they believe and what their reason is... We're still fighting over political issues, we're still fighting over religion, we're still fighting for our rights, in a modern age where people should be allowed to live their lives how they choose...

Heathen of the Neon Skies

I am sorry that I seem to be a little absent at the moment. RL has become something of a crazy nightmare as of late considering that my boss is away, and the only other person besides myself with any authority at work is off sick. I'm not able to give my SL much time at all, and I really hope that I can manage to get through the requirements of my blogging schedule this month. I'm going to have to be really good and keep track of things well... 
That aside though, my brain is both extremely sleepy, and my mind is wandering to random places stuck in the deepest corners of my mind. where the colours are bright and there's mystery in the lights...

The Day of the King

Today is King's Day and it's the 10th anniversary of King Willem-Alexander being on the throne. It feels funny to think that I have been here to see his succession and pretty soon I'll be able to see a new King ascend to the throne in England... 
For those of you that have no idea what King's Day is, and what it means... Basically it a day in which the country celebrates it's nationality, perhaps more than the king's birthday as even people that aren't really in support of the monarchy seem to love a good King's Day celebration... The whole country goes a little orange for the day, there are parties and carnivals, street markets where people sell their unwanted items, foods are shared and enjoyed, and MASSIVE amounts of alcohol is consumed... It's a countrywide party!!! 

In the dark ballroom, I'm celebrating the national holiday of the Netherlands in a truly Dutch way... 
I dressed in some orange and ready to have a party, I've prepared some delicious Dutch Snacks like the Bitterballen - from DRD - a tompouce and a fresh bottle of jenever which is a little like gin and delicious... 
I know that it seems strange but it's the one day a year that I feel closer to being Dutch than normal... I am definitely a bit of a misfit in this country, and I have branded myself as such - with a cute chest tattoo from Adora-tions - I'll always be a Brit, but since we're celebrating a new king soon, and the Dutch are celebrating their current king, I'll happily wear, or perhaps sit in a crown - the Crown Bed from Krescendo - like a royal too...

Rabbits for Chinese New Year

I tend to find myself getting so wrapped up in the big holidays - Halloween, Christmas, Valentines and even Easter to some extent, but there are so many amazing holidays in different cultures, countries and religions that I know little to nothing about... I figure that this year I'd like to take a moment to look at some of these special holidays and learn more about them. I will say now that I don't want to cause offence to anyone, and if I make mistakes PLEASE by all means feel free to come and talk to me about them - no need to be mean, remember I'd LOVE to learn. 
So for this first holiday, as it's the start of a new series of blog posts for me, I'm going to start with this weekend's holiday... Chinese New Year... 

Chinese New Year marks the start of the new Lunar Cycle, and the start of the 24 lunar cycles - and although it's often celebrated along with the more traditional Western New Year that we all celebrate on December 31st/January 1st cross over, the celebration is held on the arrival of a New Moon usually between January 21st and February 20th... Chinese New Year is one of the most important events in the Chinese Calendar, but it's influence has spread to many other neighbouring cultures too... The events are traditionally a celebration of honouring deities and ancestors, and there are many different customs involved including the lighting of firecrackers, or the giving of monetary gifts in red envelopes to promote good fortune, wealth and happiness... 
Alongside this, there is folklore dating back over 2500 years which links the Lunar Calendar with various animals, and it is said that people who are born on these year have traits that are representative of these animals. I was born in 1986 which is the year of the Tiger - and apparently it's a Fire Year too, so I am a Fire Tiger - but this year, we are entering into the year of the Rabbit!!
I hope my little creative attempt at enjoying Chinese New Year is right, I'm surrounded by bunnies, beautiful lights to light up the night and even being showered in some of those lucky money pouches... Maybe this will bring me some good luck...

Love at First Sight

YAY I'm done with having to go out of the house to work for this week, sure I have my second job but that I can do at home in my jammies... It's time to relax and have a little fun, and also I've decided that I NEED to start getting myself a little more into the Christmas spirit... I need to get myself into the Christmas magic... HellBone has been decorating a little in our garden, I might have to run around and make some new wintery friends...

Tracking down the Ghosties

Dark Adventures has closed for 2022 and that means that we have a REALLY big problem on the sim right now... These spookies have made the dark places their home for the past month and now we have to work hard to get rid of them... It's not something that I am desperate to do, I HATE making them homeless, but we need to clear them out so that we can start working to create a super new experience and a brand new adventure... 

Before we can get rid of them, I need to find them... Unfortunately that means I have to wander around through the dark empty halls to find them... Luckily I have my collection of Ghost Hunting Equipment - from HopScotch thanks to a past gacha collection - I'll walk around and call out "Hey there ghosties, Hey there spookies, Hey there demons" - and search using a pose from -Extra- that they had provided for an awesome event prize - and maybe if I'm lucky, I'll find the ones that don't wanna go away...

Choices, Choices, which door do I choose?

Halloween has finally left the building, although I don't think it will ever fully be gone from my corner of the world. Though there is lots of magic still swirling around in the air, and I know that since Rudh is always into the magical arts, that there will ALWAYS be plenty of magic and monsters and darkness... Yet right now, as the Halloween magic fades away Rudh has a choice, is she going to be playing more on the darkside of the magic, or will she be able to follow to the light?

Standing before the doors in the Library of Portals - a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - she has to make her decision before the doors are able to close and block the magic for a while. The dark side is hoping to lure her in with it's beautiful collection of skulls and devious little monsters, but the good side is offering up sparkles and magic tricks and everythig that's cute and adorable!

Feeling Depressed, I need Sugar and Nuggets!

I hate the emotional rollercoaster that rolls through life every so often. I know that depression is something that so many people face on a daily basis, and I'm lucky that with me it's not an every day thing but when the rollercoaster hits it makes for an unhappy day... 
You get that feeling of what's the point, why am I bothering, and I cannot really bother myself to do anything... Maybe I'm not depressed, but I'm definitely not in the best of places right now... 

I can't bring myself to do anything, the thought of cooking anything just feels like way too much stress today... I am feeling too blah to even pay any attention my imaginary little friend - a Sakura Chibi Doll - who was trying to show me how she brought one of my Dino's Feast nuggets - part of the collection from dust bunny - to life. I was too focused on picking at my food and glugging down a can of Jungle Juice - from FOXCITY - I'm hoping that all the sugar will drown my sadness...

A World of Burton

As the courtcase of one of his best friends seems to have taken over the media throughout the world, Mr Tim Burton has taken over a lot of Second Life this week as there is an Enchantment that has gone a little Burton-esque... Christmas Nightmares, Juice with Beetles and a touch of Wonderland have taken over, not to mention there is a demon barber on the loose... If SL wasn't scary enough at times, the monstrous mind of Mr Burton has taken over... 

This is definitely not the End of Story - a backdrop from K&S - though, the creatures have now found their own happy little lives in Second Life. Hiding in amongst the Curly Wurly Trees - a new release from LOVE for Enchantment - inhabitants of wonderland seek guidance and luckily for them Rudh and her gorgeous new Sand Slug friend - from Tardfish, also at Enchantment - are here to lead the way...

Poppies in Remembrance

It's November 11th, and for many that's seen as a day with some big significance. In the UK, and many other countries around the world, November 11th is a day of Remembrance. Things are celebrated differently, for me as a Brit I will always observe the moment of silence in thanks and remembrance for those that lost their lives through war... 

It's a day that we in the UK wear poppies to show our remembrance of the dead. The reason that we do this is because poppies were the first flowers to appear in the area that was destroyed by the front line of World War I. Their colour is also seen as a representation of the blood that was spilt... I'll always proudly wear a poppy, and remember those that have been lost... 
I'm not in Flanders Fields today though, I'm in a gorgeous location called the "Flower of Scotland", and it's one of the most amazing locations that I've found in a while... It is so beautiful, I cannot wait to explore it more!!

Bye Bye Halloween, Till Next Year!

 Hard to believe that Halloween is over, and that if you listen very carefully you can hear the sounds of Mariah Carey and her Christmas song in the distance getting closer and closer every day... For now though I have to sneak up into the dark, scary attic to put my Halloween decorations away. 

I'm carefully packing things up... All my pumpkins and scary movies and costumes, neatly boxed until next year. Filling Boxes of scary movies - from Junk Food - accessories and costumes - from Violetility and Ananas - and smiling at all of the memories that they've given me this year! 
Is it me though, or is the Mariah Carey Music louder up here in the attic... It's coming from behind me where all the Christmas decorations are.. Dun Dun Dunnnnnn... I have to get outta the attic for a while lol...

Medusa's Pet Snakes

On another Dark Adventure today and this time we're going to visit the coast of North Africa, although the story from which our newest friend has been known... She's actually the star of Greek mythology... A maiden of three sisters, ok they are Gorgon sisters and not to be trifled with, but it wasn't always this way... She was a true beauty, who after a romance with a Greek God was transformed into a monster with snakes in her hair.. Yet it was in death that this Medusa was her most powerful... Her eyes, that had been powerful enough to turn people to stone in life, continued in use mounted onto the shield used in war to defeat the enemy...

Medusa isn't available to welcome us into their home today, but another of her Gorgon sisters, another lover of all things snakey is here to show us the temple... 
There are snakes everywhere, and even though she still has normal hair she's wearing a headdress to honour her sister, and a pet snake on her head...

Sushi for Dinner

 After getting home from a long day at work, I'm usually starving. I can't wait to get home for dinner and see what delicious things that I can find in my fridge. 
Today I got home from work, to discover that we're eating fish... I fancy some sushi, but that's not the kind of fish that's on the menu tonight. Maybe though I'll get my sushi sometime soon... 

Maybe I'll have to send Rudh to a "House of Zen" - from FOXCITY - a chance to relax and unwind with some delicious sushi and some fluffy friends... The puppies - YOKAI's Oriental Melody collection puppies - seem to be having fun, dressing up and getting into the theme of tonight's dinner! 
Sitting down to relax with some delicious Orenji Sushi - from the new store that is Cat-Noodle - some udon and other delicious treats, I couldn't help but laugh at the crazy puppy antics...

Time for Magic Practice

 Magic has taken over Second Life, and the Wizarding World has opened it's doors to welcome those of us that LOVE the magical feeling. I have to admit that I'm NOT a Harry Potter fan, so all of the intricacies that others might understand are past me, but I LOVE magic and cannot get enough of it... 
So today after work, I'm home and ready to practice my spells... 

You'll have to excuse the mess, with all the bottles and cauldrons cooking all over the place... It's the fault of the Wizarding Fair and al the perfectly lovely goodies that a girl simply cannot live without in her little magical den. Although perhaps buying all these cute little pets from The Emporium maybe wasn't a good idea, as the little Pygmy Puffs just keep getting in the way...

OMG... The Dolly Carnage!

I'm a Barbie Girl, in a Barbie World... Life in plastic, it's fantastic...
I make no secret of the fact that Rudh is my adult version of a my childhood Barbie! I dress her up, I make her do things that Barbie used to do, and well OK sometimes the term Adult Barbie can definitely applied in more ways than one LOL... Yet there is one thing that this Barbie has which is better than my RL ones ever used to have... She's safe from my doll destroying sister hehe... 

Honestly Rudh got a taste of that experience when she was playing around in her new A Toy's Story Life, after getting herself trapped in the Barlie box - from Ananas at The Warehouse Sale - and ended up in a situation that was very similar to the one my Sister put my RL dolls in... 
It was like a toy carnage... Some had already been caught in the Tantrum - a gacha collection filled with ripped teddies and broken dolls from Sakura - some were waiting to be broken...

Hoppy Chocolate Eggs Day!

 Since it's Easter today, and since all I really get out of Easter is that it's the day the bunny brings the chocolate eggs, I decided to join the band wagon and get my bunny on... There are so many different bunnies out there today - the sickly sweet cute kind, the wannabe playboy kind and even the slightly dark and depraved looking kind, although those are still cute because let's face it ALL BUNNIES ARE!
Rather surprisingly, Bunny Me chose not to go down the Playboy-esque route and instead opted for adorably cute! I guess though her mind was made up when she made a discovery in the garden!!

Hopping around in her garden this morning, was the most adorable little pink bunny... Now being curiouser and curiouser like Alice - yes, the Wonderland version - she knew that Pink Bunnies rarely happen, and decided to follow it... 
Turning the corner into a different part of the garden - this is actually an adorable backdrop from Synnergy by the way - she couldn't believe her eyes... The bunnies - from Jian - had set up shop, and with the help of some heaving baskets stuffed full of delicious Easter Eggs - from Junk Food - they were sorting them to hide them in the gardens! 
Before anyone faints though, I KNOW I'm wearing white! I couldn't resist these amazing pants from CryBunBun. I think I may have even bought them last year, but they are just perfect Easter pants, every Easter should feature Bunny Butts!
