Spells on Quills causes Mandrake Mischief!

August has begun, and there is still a few signs of the summer to come... At the moment it already feels like the Autumn has arrived, and that means we're one step closer to the best holiday of the year HALLOWEEN!! It's August, It's nearly Halloween... It's Augween!!! 
So pretty soon school will be starting up again, I always loved school but one of my favourite things that happened around this time of year was when Mum said "let's go shopping for school supplies"... It's not just regular school kids that are going back, the wizards of Hogwarts are needing to get their supplies... The Wizarding Faire has opened on Diagon Alley... There is magical shopping to be done...

In Diagon Alley, at the wand store Olivander's - yes I checked that it was correct with my Harry Potter obsessed sister and is actually a Sorcery Photo Stage from [piXit] - where the Wand Shelves - from Quills & Curiosities for Wizarding Faire - are made of walnut and stacked high with thousands of boxed wands in all different shapes, sizes and magics... The owner has popped off on a little vacation to visit a friend in need, and left an apprentice in charge who has taken it upon herself to enchant some of the Candy Quills - also from Quills & Curiosities - that are perfect for writing love notes... Admittedly the magic in the shop HAS caused a few little problems... Mandrakes running everywhere, its a Mandrake Mischief - thanks to the adorable new release from Aardvark, also available now at the Wizarding Faire - and there is chaos all around...

Lights for Good Fortune

I've been trying to learn more about festivals and holidays from around the world and recently I was looking at the Chinese New Year Celebrations, but there is one more custom that is a part of these celebrations, and that would be the lighting of floating lanterns and their release into the sky to float up amongst the stars... 
There is a location in Second Life, that has been perfect for watching the floating lanterns. It's a beautiful location anyway, but Cloud Edge is well worth visiting... 

Standing on a hill, high above the clouds I stand to watch the floating lanterns... Each of these lights represents a person letting go of their past and welcoming the new year with good fortune. I've lit my light and I'm watching it float off into the darkness... 
This year will be my year, I've decided to do all kinds of different things to move my life on, and right now, I'm making moves to become a better, stronger and happier person in all apects of my life...

The Widow in Mourning

Mourning those that are gone is something that seems to be one of the hardest things to deal with in life... Losing someone that we're close to is a difficult way to have to get through a day, but when we face it we're stronger and have the power to move forward, no matter how much it hurts... 
Today I'm feeling a little melancholy, I miss my family and so I'm going to wander through the graveyard, and talk to the souls left behind... 

She's mourning the loss of loved ones, and stopping to read the inscription on the grave marker that says "Those we love don't go away. They walk beside us everyday" and unknown to her while she's masked in sadness, her family are reaching out, trying to take her hand...

The Train Broke My Umbrella!

This time of year, so many pretty locations open up, places that are Autumnal and cold feeling without there even being a tiny drop of snow -gah snow YUCK lol - but this is definitely an inspiration that I've been needing. I NEED to get back on my horse and start enjoying the beautiful places of SL again, maybe it will get my blogging mojo working a little more... 
One of the places I explored and very much enjoyed was Mesmiric Cove. It's a pretty Autumnal location, that I plan on going back to, but as I was standing on a station platform a train pulled into the shot, causing a large gust of wind... 

My umbrella wasn't best pleased!!!
Though as secret - LOL - my umbrella was already having trouble before I used it as a pose prop in my picture. You can get the broken umbrellas from CHEZ MOI, and although they are decorative items they seem to work really well with these Persefona Umbrella poses too!! 
The reason that this outfit went the way it did though was because I wanted to wear my new Ensemble - such a good word that one LOL - from Valentina E. The Sloane Ensembles are available at Uber and come in a range of colours with a HUD for colour change sweaters! Feels like such a cosy but cute Autumn Outfit!

I am a Little Upset AND I have a Sign!

Going to have to rant a bit today, but it's OK I will be nice and leave a pretty picture that says enough for those of you that aren't interested in reading one of my ranting rambles... Just scroll to the bottom as usual for the outfit details! The picture tells you enough really LOL... 

Now for the rant... 
I am getting so fed up of people telling me flat out lies... SURE if you're harbouring a secret that's fine, but don't tell me something and then tell someone else - who you know is likely to tell me - something different. I hate being lied to... It's one of those things that bugs me the most. I mean little white lies I can bear but if I ask you something important and you swear blind that it's something different, and THEN I find out I was right in the first place, please don't expect me to be sweetness and light about it. I truly hate confrontation, and I'm not keen on drama like most people, but lying seems much worse. In a Second Life family, like the Gators MC, it can be nigh on impossible to keep things hidden, and the Chinese whispers can cause more damage than they are worth... I just want people to bear that in mind, remember the fact that you choose your family in SL, and stop causing harm to those you claim to love... 
Anyway onto the outfit, and more so the pose, because without them this picture would have been totally different lol... I decided to wear this outfit from Valentina E, that I bought at a recent round of FLF, and it needed to be in a classroom... It reminded me so much of my old school uniform that no where else would work hehe. Yet it's the pose that warrants most of the credit for this picture. This is one of the "I Protest" Poses from NANTRA which is available at the current round of The Gacha Garden. It was hard to choose which to use, until my rant needed to be released and then picking one happened easily LOL...

Le Cirque Des Reves

The Circus arrives without warning.

No Announcements precede it...

It is simply there, when yesterday it was not!

The sign on the gate reads 'Le Cirque Des Reves', Opens at Nightfall, Closes at Dawn.

As dawn arrives, Rudhmellowen stumbles through the gates. Her mind filled with the wondrous things she has seen... So many sights, so many smells, the magic to be found around every corner. When the circus arrived, people began to whisper about the strangeness of a cirque appearing without warning. Yet as they passed through the gates these rumours slipped from their minds, replaced by awe and happiness... 
Who were the masters, the creators, the imaginators of this feast for the mind... How was it all even possible? 
Rudh had to go back, she had to see more... But how long would the Cirque Des Reves - The Circus of Dreams - be reality, something more than a legend amongst the people of the town? 

OK Back to reality a little, I mentioned yesterday whilst talking about Elysion's location that is LUNA, of a place opening by the design team that I was REALLY excited about. Last night, Syn Beresford and her team, held the magical parties at Le Cirque Des Reves...
I GOT SO EXCITED!!! I wasn't able to make it to the party due to time and a crappy PC, but this morning when I woke up I couldn't get there fast enough, and it was SO PRETTY. The location, and event theme, is based on one favourite books that I've read in recent years, called "The Night Circus" - by Erin Mortgernstern - and it's a vintage story with some romance and mystery mixed into a great deal of magic. If you love reading it's one that I'd really recommend, and as the latest location creation from Elysion's team would suggest, it seems I'm not the only one! 
Now I'm not going to ramble on about my outfit, the only thing I will say is that you NEED to be in Monochrome to be allowed here. It's part of the story and theme of the location, but trust me it's well worth the visit... Thank you Syn for bringing this story to life
Go now, you never know when Le Cirque Des Reves will move on from here, just as it appears. One day it's there the next it's gone without a trace!

Demonic Carny Children

Demonic me seems to be having dominance over all other sides of my darker self at the moment... I'm not complaining but I will say that she's very much suppressing the prettier girlier normal side of my wardrobe quite a lot, so don't expect normal too often for a while longer at least lol... 
Today the little demon child in me wants to get all excited over an event I participated in last night... You may have heard of Ironwood Hills, well this year they have an interactive hunt taking place and it's FUN!!! There's some great prizes and maybe if you're good I will share some of those with you soon... Still while you're there watch out for the little demonic me that is haunting the carnival!!! 

OK OK so you don't have to be that good, it's the season of mischief it being Halloween and all, so I'll show you as a teaser ONE of the hunt prize items, and more may follow very soon...

To make the look match the teddy was kinda interesting to do LOL, I wanted something cute and childlike but also demonic... After that it was just a matter of making myself look demonic... A task that in my inventory is fairly simple to do...

Time for a Tea Party

I wanted to share something very simple with you this morning... Something pretty, and simple because today is a HUGE day for event openings in SL...
The Epiphany will open it's doors, and ROMP too... Both some of my favourite events that I get really excited for as soon as I see things start to appear in Flickr! Yet today is also the early access day for Hair Fair, and I really cannot wait to get into the event and start shopping! 
I am already planning on trying to get a post for Hair Fair out later on, something simple and easy hehe, but you know what an addiction is like, you really need a fix and this morning... THIS is my fix! I found somewhere that I HAD to show you! 

The location is the Sweet Harmonic Wedding and Landscape Garden.
I stumbled upon this place recently whilst I was looking for gacha yardsales and as soon as I saw this table I was in love...
Set out to resemble the Mad Hatter's Tea Party of Alice in Wonderland fame, the owner of this location must have spent HOURS meticulously placing all of these little details perfectly. You shouldn't miss out on this gorgeous location... 
Still that was the peaceful me for today, later on I am sure you will see a crazier, Hairer side of me!!

When the Weather is Windy - Hair Fair 2016 Photography Contest!

One of the biggest shopping events on the SL calendar is coming, and for those people that are addicted to buying Hair, this is one that is definitely worth knowing about... I'm talking of course about Hair Fair 2016, the biggest hair event in SL that raises thousands of dollars every year for an amazing cause, helping to give children with cancer a little less to worry about! 
Hair Fair brings together a truck-load of SL's Hair Designers - some well known, others not so - each offering exclusive styles to raise money for the charity "Wigs for Kids" and in the coming weeks I will be talking more about the charity, the event and some of the awesome hairstyles available... Yet for now I want to inspire you, and let you know about the AWESOME prizes you can win if you fancy entering the Hair Fair's "Whatever the Weather" Photography contest! 

A little inspiration perhaps from a crazy rambling blogger! I wanted to create something that fitted with the theme of the contest - although I myself won't be entering - I couldn't resist using another pose prop from Exposeur and letting my inner princess out again hehe...
The theme of the contest is "Whatever the Weather", so any contest entry MUST not only focus on hair, but also have a subtle - or not so subtle depending on your ideas - nod towards the weather... My princess was trapped in a tower, that was so high she was up with the clouds and caught by some strong winds, for example!
Now as with any competition, there are a few simple rules! Firstly you need to use one of the hairs from the list of participating designers - I cannot list these all here as there are a lot of them, so I advise that you check out the list on the Hair Fair Photography Contest Web Page before you begin snapping - the web page also shows the full list of rules for this contest, but one of the most important is that there is to be NO NUDITY! That's right people, keep your clothes on, this is an event for children after all... If you're that keen to get naked, you can do it later LOL... OH AND REMEMBER, HAIR IS IMPORTANT IN THE PICTURE, make it your focus LOL... It's HAIR FAIR after all!!! 

All that said though, you should check out the HUGE list of prizes for this contest... First prize winners get 3 full fatpacks from ALL Prize Sponsors, lots of store credits, a VR Studio and VIP Access to the event for themselves and 5 friends!! Valentines Breakfast Picnic with Eugene!

It's the month when everything turns mushy and pink and is supposedly filled with romance... I am trying so hard not to pull faces here as I say this, but as with all of the holidays it seems like SL becomes full of all things pink and cutesy. Don't get me wrong, if you love that kinda stuff anyway then it's awesome, but I just don't really like the faceful of fake romance... Love - and romance - should be every day things, not just once a year right? 
I know that I get right into the Christmas and Halloween Spirit and blog them for a month over their festive seasons, but Valentine's I won't be doing that much for... Sorry to the people that love it... Maybe something dead perhaps?! Though I did want to throw one very cutesy post out there, and it's more for the stuff in it than the holiday hehe. 
I went on a Breakfast Picnic Date with the cutest, shyest man-bear called Eugene this morning! 

I am only on this romantic date for the food, although the company is also good - thanks Eugene hehe, yes he is a Boogers Bear but he was definitely a handsome date choice! 
The Picnic area was decorated with Half-Deer Fairylight Balloons and a scattering of hearts from Tool Shed, but it was the food that really drew me in... YES I know I said that before, but I have food on the brain and nothing else is working! 
Eugene had brought two types of foods... The Breakfasty and the Sweet... 
Breakfast is all about love and cholesterol - provided by nefarious.inventions at The Gacha Garden - and it really lives up to it's name. Bacon & Eggs in little heart shapes, Waffles in little heart shapes, a stack of Pancakes dripping with pink gooey icing, Chocolate Muffins & Strawberry Milk, I think the only healthy thing available is the Fruit option, but I bet even that is slathered with sugar!
Then on to the Candy Stuffs, Eugene picked this up for me for a Sweetheart Party - from Lost Junction at The Gacha Garden - and if I wasn't going to be sick enough I can now stuff my face with Sodas, Conversation Hearts, Cake Pops and even Chocolate from my own Chocolate Fountain!! 
I'm a spoilt girl - I may be sick, but I am being spoilt LOL - and this isn't even the full sets of either collection... Brocante in the Snow

I'm back from my holiday... The time away was needed and I have rested - it would have been better without a monster, but oh well - I still feel like being very, very lazy and luckily I don't have to go to work until Friday. 
I'm going to take some time to laze about and rest-up, flop on the sofa - perhaps in a pretty but random location for indoor furniture?! - I still have books to read!

The furniture that I pulled out in this beautiful, snowy location was some of the new releases from brocante - that you can grab at Uber until January 23rd... Brocante is a new collaboratory project from the minds behind Consignment - Mr Wavie Haller - and floorplan - Ms Teagan Serin. 
From the press release, sent to the bloggers - the store's hard working press monkies - I decided to share with you a little information using their words so that I don't mess things up! 
"We collaborate frequently and decided to just create a brand specifically for our co-creations and brocante. perfectly describes our blended style!" Though I hate to warn you, Consignment lovers, the brocante store is set using floorplan vendors - Consignment gift cards will not work here... Can Someone Save Me?

Ever have one of those days when all you want to do is shut out the world, curl up and sleep, all the while though your mind thinks 'someone save me!' Well today I am having one of those kind of days... I woke up this morning and although I LOVE thunderstorms I prefer not to have to go out in them and well wouldn't you know while I'm hiding from the rain in a metal bus shelter, the storm started! Add to that I am suffering from an emotional rollercoaster and BAM isn't it great to be Rudh right now?!
So the picture that I have chosen to share with you today is representative of that feeling of 'someone save me!' A princess locked in a tower, BUT there are signs of hope for her, someone has left her a rose... Who she doesn't know, but I'm hoping that like the princess, someone will leave me a rose - or show me my sparkle again or even just give me a hug randomly!

The rose is actually a part of the decoration on the Paper Moon Song's Ephemera Tray called My Lady Silver. This is part of a collection different trays that can be won at the Fantasy Gacha Carnival, but each tray varies in theme... Some are more masculine, and others have food!!
The Princesses dress is actually one of my favourite freebies in a LONG time... It's a gorgeously coloured version of the Aura Gown from Valentina E, that you can get your hands on ABSOLUTELY FREE by joining The Fantasy Collective group and hitting the board on the Valentina E display!
I wonder if some handsome prince will come and whisk me away... HellBone is a sweetheart, but lacking in the romance department... Maybe someone like Sam Winchester please??

Miss Vain Glutton - Belle of the Sin Ball

The Sins have taken over, there is a festival in their honour for the second year in a row and this time they are not holding back... Spread out over one sinful sim, this is the place to share in the debauchery - while at the same time still retaining your modesty somewhat hehe... There are so many amazing creations that will tickle your tastebuds - and if you're anything like me have you reaching for your wallet really fast!
Each sin has it's own designated area, although the goodies you can find within could sometimes have a cross over for multiple sins, and each has been beautifully decorated to suit the basis of the theme... I LOVE the Desperate Housewives feel of Envy, the Casino set-up of Greed and don't even get me started about how much I love the Gluttony area...
I went a little crazy buying things... Then when I was putting an outfit together, one came to life so vividly, and it just screamed to me what the sins might look like if they were personified, that I simply had to share it with you! Let me introduce you to Miss Vain Glutton...

The Victorian Pin-up of the Sin family, she's the daughter of Gluttony and Vanity... Photographed outside the family's gorgeous old Victorian Villa on the Isle of Serendipity, the delapidation of the place becoming evermore apparent as the Sins take hold...
Her dress in the style of her Vain mother. A beautiful Valentina E Pinup Corset Gown in a pale lilac colour, that simply screams "Look at Me!" - which can be found in four different colours at the Shopping District which makes up the Vanity location of the Festival of Sin.
The mask that hides her hideous face is one of her fathers - at least you think it hides her face, perhaps the straps are a disguise to make you think her terrifying Gluttonous Void is truely a mask - we shall never know. The mask created by her Glutton father just makes it that little bit easier! You too can get your hands on his ContraptioN at the Dining Area that is the Gluttony location at the Festival of Sin.  
The remnants of her childhood washed away, as Miss Vain Glutton emerged into society, the belle of the Sin Ball, yet she - like me in my RL I guess - cannot and will not totally give up her childhood plushie friend... As she stands before the old villa to catch the last of the days sunlight rays on her skin, she squeezes her childhood friend - an Angry Mouse Doll from the Katat0nik store. People tried to replace it with a new one - stealing her plushie was a challenge for many a heroic young gentleman - they even offered her the exact same toy from the Gacha Casino in the Greed location at the Festival of Sin, but seriously her father gave her rows of razor sharp teeth for a reason...
Currently she is only a glutton for chocolate, but don't make her mad, or she may develop a taste for something meatier!

Looking to the sky for the perfect outfit...

I've been so inspired with my picture taking recently and keep taking photos that I find myself in love with... So not all of them are the best but today I want to share with you one that I really love... like Really Really! The outfit was something a little crazy, the location was one I was shown by my SL sister Lil and well everything fell together so flawlessly that it brings a smile to my face. Don't you love it when this happens? 

The location I set up the telescope - OK it was already there and free to use, but just roll with me on this - was a place called Just Another Tequila Sunrise. This places has a very gorgeous and natural feel, plus if you're wanting to rez things all you need to do is join a group and voila! Luckily for me though, the telescope was already out and ready to use - it's a LISP one by the way! 
But it is the outfit that makes me feel the happiest. I LOVE the way it fell together and it looks so perfect! 
The dress is one from Valentina E that I bought way back now at the Wayward Carnival. I couldn't resist, it was crying out "BUY ME BUY ME" - but then I have a shopping addiction and a lot of things do that LOL... I just loved the Carnie look to it, and couldn't leave it behind. Then when I was accessorising I remembered this awesome bell necklace that I won from a gacha at the past round of Origami from a store called 白玉siratama and then I teamed it with a bow scarf from DRIFT... 
The thing that I think tied it all together was the adorable Bunhawk hair from Catwa... The outfit looked great but this messy style just made smile..

It's all in the Drapes

Today I feel it's time to take a little step back from some of the bigger events that I have been focusing on at the moment, it's time for us to take a little breather and enjoy something a little more peaceful!
I have a lot of photos ready to share with you, I've been very snap happy this weekend and so I hope in the next few days that I will be able to share some interesting and pretty ramblings with you...

One of the first things I'm going to share with you are two beautiful releases from Paper.Moon... These things are - or perhaps that should be were now - released for the recent round of The Fantasy Collective, and I have to appologise and say I am sorry that it has taken me so long to get these things shared with you... The Candles are both pretty and useful, but it is the Tapestries that are the most gorgeous aspect of this photo... I love the soft elegance of them, as well as the colours...
They looked so sumptuous with the gorgeousness that is this older, but still absolutely gorgeous, Valentina E dress - the Je Ne Regretre Rien Dress is stunning, dark and ruffled, such a pretty combination...
I hope you can excuse me, taking a break from the events every now and then, but a girl needs to mix things up a little, and a small injection of pretty always makes me feel like a happier Rudh!

All the stars are coming out tonight... They're lighting up the sky tonight...

Memory is such a wonderful thing... Each one like a star in our own personal night sky, least that was what I was always told when I was little by my grandmother... She always used to tell me that the bigger and brighter the star looked in the sky, the more special the memory was...
Memories are at the front of my mind at the moment, one of my friend's mothers has just been diagnosed with Alzheimers, and if I'm honest something like that would scare me more than a sudden accident or a reduced life expectancy... I think it's put me in a bit of a sombre mood!

The picture, luckily, seems more pensive than sad but it fits perfectly with the idea of stars being our saved memories... The title of the post holds a memory in itself that will ALWAYS make me smile! It's lyrics from a song by a "boyband" - though the term boys may not be appropriate anymore since they are all in their 40s LOL - called Take That. Even though I am a rock girl through and through, my first celebrity crush was on one of the members, and I've always thought of them as the skeletons in my music loving closet hehe... The memory that links to the post title though is due to the effect this song has on my mum! We went to see the band at a concert a few years ago, I'd not long left home but was back with her to see them, and the song brought tears to her eyes... I miss my mum all the time so this song always brings a smile to my face when I can't get home to see her...
The outfit, which must be discussed, was something almost moonlight angelic in style. I adorned myself with a wig from Ploom - told you you'd be seeing this hair a lot though, I have it in a LOT of colours hehe.., I wanted eyes that seemed to be reflecting the light of the moon, and I found the perfect pair from SongBird, these Winter Fae eyes do come with make-up too but it was too dark for what I needed here! The dress, one of the very few plain white ones that I do actually have, is a Halter Gown from Valentina E, but it is the accessories that were the entire reason for this photo... 
I spotted the Starshine Gacha Collection at the Cirque De Seraphim and immediately had to have the horns! I will however say, that due to the Rare nature of the horns, the Sweet Thing store made a damn good profit from me LOL... Not that I mind, the horns are worth it! 
All she needs now is a star to ride on... OH and have a little Take That... The song means a lot to me, so I have to share since they are the memory behind this post hehe...

HippY Wonderland!

Alice in Wonderland will never seem the same again! I charged into wonderland, raided the place of some awesome goodies and ran out screaming with laughter... I seem to have hit something that soaked me in colour as I drove away in my new HippY van - from Hogs and Cart Wheels, Hell's Store, for the Dirty Turkey Hunt!
I hadn't been planning to loot the place, but my goodness there were so many pretty things just laying around... Pretty yumyum things! Don't blame me for stealing hehe... 

OK so I didn't really steal them, the things I "stole" from Wonderland are actually special creations from yumyums that you can fight the Gacha machine for at the Fantasy Gacha Carnival! 
Time to check out my loot... The giant Drink Me Bottles are available in 4 different flavours - I'll warn you now though, drinking the contents has weird side effects - I am also wearing the latest in Wonderland Weaponry technology in the form of a super rare Bloody Snicker-Snack Dagger I strapped to my leg, a card Deck of Doom, a red Queen of <3 Bomb and the deadly looking Ladies Flamingo Mallet. OH AND not to forget, I have a new Madhatter Moonshine Mana Canteen bag and a Teeter Teacups Tophat that are accessorising my new outfit perfectly! 
The outfit itself is something that would really stand out in Wonderland... The pretty curly Mystic hair from Ploom can also be picked up from the Fantasy Gacha Carnival. The dress is something that I have had stored away for a few weeks the Valentina E Jewel Cocktail Dress is simply gorgeous, far far girlier than my normal style but gorgeous! The boots too have sat in my inventory for ages and ages... They are from MONS and are Long Heel-less boots in an oceanleo colour... I just loved the way the look came together alongside the awesome collection from yumyums!!!
