The Pixel Fae and Her Arcade Aura

A magical day off that I spent at home in my jammies doing a few odd chores and reading the rest of the time... When I was cleaning the music was loud, cheesy, pop with many, many cheesy karaoke moments, using whatever I had to hand... Just a note to those who do this too, TOILET BRUSHES ARE NOT EVER TO BE USED AS MICROPHONES... Anything else is fair game, and can make you feel like a magical star... 

There is a loud, rumbling music that can be heard across certain regions of Second Life today as the adorable band that is Arcade Aura - which coincidentally is the name of the collection from everfaery for the newly opened round of Cyber Fair that includes the Wings and Left stocking shown in my outfit - in their matching stage outfits are warming up... Lots of loud cheesy pop music, glittering lights with stars and sparkles, and a lead guitarist that would make things a lot easier to rehearse if she remembered to plug the guitar in LOL...

Mushroom Harvest Starts, The Celebration Begins!

My working week is finaly done and it's the weekend, so I'm going to let my hair down and have alovely, relaxing party - Pyjama's and Relaxing Time YAY! - there hasn't been much time for that this week and I truly need a rest at the moment. I don't know why, I'm exhausted... It must be the time of year as the season is beginning to change... 
I get home and I'm about to head inside and relax when the fairy senses inside me started tingling... There was something going on in the fairy grove and I had to go check... 

When I got to the fairy glade, having morphed from standard boring human to something a little more magical, I stumbled upon a different kind of party. Not the relaxing pyjama party I'd been hoping for, but a Mushroom Buddies - a new release from Pitaya for The Fifty - have been picking Orchand mushrooms to get ready for the Autumn feasts and hibernation preparation... Now I KNOW I wasn't keen on the idea of having to do anything more than relax BUT I can't turn down this kinda party, they have tea and CAKE!!!

Oops! I Think I'm in BIG TROUBLE!

Ever have those days when you feel like your brain stops working?! I don't mean in the medical sense either, I'm talking like you cannot remember why you bent down to tie your shoe laces when you are in fact wearing slip-ons, or when you walk into a room and instantly forget what you came in for, or when you're mentally confused because today should be Sunday when it is in fact Friday... That kind of brain fart... I am getting those a lot lately, and someone told me I might be Peri-Menopausal, but I wish this brain fog would clear... 

It's as I was getting overly excited about my new outfit that I'd found at the Midnight Order, a Starla set - from Web Dew - decorated with Suns, Moons and Stars, things that have always made me feel special, and was making me feel remarkly happy that I wondered if I had been forgetting something... I mean I'd decked myself out with some gorgeous accessories, and even remembered to tuck my familiar little burdy into my Burdy Hat - which is a release from Tardfish for The Vault - but it wasn't until I was dancing through the Enchanted Book Hall - which is an older but still gorgeous release from everfaery - that I spotted something with a note attached... OH CRAP... In the bird cage, the Forgotten Birdcage - from CABALPIER - if you will, I think I'm in BIG TROUBLE...

Pineapples!

I don't very often get cravings for things, I tend to allow myself to always have a little of what I want because if I start craving something and eventually get my hands on things, then I will eat far too much and end up feeling yucky... On hot days like this, I am drinking so much water but I like to eat something salty so that it helps as I'm sweating. I don't tend to go for something sweet...
Fruit is delicious but I get picky and go through phases of what I want... There is a fruit on my mind at the moment... PINEAPPLE! 

I am not  HUGE pineapple fan, I have to say I don't love it, and it certainly doesn't belong on pizza, but when it's hot and summery, there is just something about Pineapple that makes me want lots of it... 
Rings, Sticks, Crushed into icy drinks or pulped into Ice Cream... Everything is going to be so delicious... The smell of the delicious pineapple is even luring in the little pineapple fae... Aren't they cute?!

Pool Time Fun!

It's getting hot again!! The temperature is rising just as I've got to start cleaning my house to make sure everything is ready to go home... WHY DO THE GODS HATE ME?!
All I want to to do is find a way to cool down, I want to shower every five minutes and swim somewhere cool and preferably shady... I wish I had a pool!!!

I'm not sure if Rudh is chilling in her rubber ring, or if she's making a terrible cannonball bomb into the pool and is about to get herself stuck in a rubber ring she's landing on... 
You can see that her fishy buddies are experiencing her arrival with different reactions... The Bubble Buddies, such cute little fishies - from Krescendo - are watching on with a little concern, but it's the Chompy Sharks - from Snuggle&Co, still available until July 13th at Summerfest - that seem to be enjoying it... Their pearly whites are definitely on show like they are smiling anyway...

Summer Beach Work

I work in retail in RL, I'm sure you may have seen me say that once or twice... I'm currently watching a British TV series called "Death in Paradise" and I think that at the moment these things are coming together in my mind so that I ended up on a paradise beach selling fruits... It sounds like a perfect place to be right now... 

Death in Paradise is set in the Caribbean, filmed in Guadaloupe although the island in the stories is imaginary... 
Now if I was relaxed enough to be chilling on the beach, playing or perhaps just making noise on my Ukulele - a release from Junk Food, available until July 17th at Anthology - I don't think I'd be looking as comfortable as I am... Do you play Croquet?

Things are crazy in my household at the moment. My pain in the butt, whom I love muchly, hubby was operated on yesterday and though he's home he is in a lot of pain. I've been allowed to take a few days off so that I can look after him which so far has been fairly OK... He is a little high on the good kind of drugs, but it's me that seems to be stuck in my own tiring little Wonderland, I'm running around all over the place doing things for him... I finally managed to get a little time to rest and so I ended up finding a Wonderland that was a little less stressful... 

What to do while I'm here to relax? Anyone fancy a game of croquet? I always used to love the idea of the flamingo croquet that Alice played with the Queen of Hearts in the Disney version... I wanted to play with the croquet mallets so badly because they looked like heaps of fun... So in the gardens of Wonderland I'm going to ask, DO YOU PLAY CROQUET?!

An Egyptian Goddess, Wadjet!

I woke up this morning feeling too hot and bothered, it was too early to get out of bed but I couldn't bare the thought of just laying there and stewing in my own headachy blahness... It lead to me being weirdly creative... 
It lead to my mind disappearing to a faraway land and a time long ago, and where the magic of the old gods could be felt within the desert sands walls... To a Bright and Magical Luxor Night... 

We know so much of the magic that went along with the stories of the Egyptian Gods but there are some that are more famous than others. Whilst on our trip together today, we have come across the beautiful goddess Wadjet - although this is more like my Monster High kinda version probably - who was revered as a protector of kings of the ower kingdom... She and her cobra head were seen as a symbol of protection and sovereignty, apparently...
Our Monster High styled version of Wadjet, seems a little more disgruntled at yet more statues of the senior gods, where the heck was the new one she'd been promised... She's a Naga Vaelric - a release from BeSpoke that can still be grabbed today at the Vintage Fair but it closes on the 16th so maybe you'll have to head to the mainstore - and she deserves to have EgyptianTales told...

Dance Among The Stars

I need a little magic, I need a little rest and a lot of time to sleep... I need to find that magic to help myself rest up... I'm going to close my eyes and let my imagination soar, I want to be somewhere where the magic fizzes and sparkles and lights up the darkness... 

When I am at my lowest I tend to find the most sparkly of fae folk to bring me out of my slump and make things seem more effervescent... 
That is exactly what happened when I closed my eyes today and started to let my mind drift off to another world. I ended up drifting up and away, I ended up ascending to a demonic realm but one where I could dance among the stars and sparkle through the clouds... I love dancing and drifting off to a new place in my head...

Forever Blowing Bubbles

I am chasing a sugar high, I've had a day off today and I'm feeling so sleepy that I think I've been just walking around only half awake... HellBone took me out in RL and we did a little bit of fun stuff, but I didn't find what I wanted and needed so it felt somewhat disappointing too... I need something sweet as a treat... 

I LOVE Candy... I love chocolate, but if I had to pick I would ALWAYS go for something gummy, not the marijuanna laced gummies, but just the chewy, often fruity and sweet kind. I like them sour and with the foamy bits too... These are my happy candies... 
When I was a teenager though I always had gum, bubble or regular, but I ALWAYS had some... I loved Hubba Bubba - or in the Second Life case the Slubblicious Gum from Junk Food, which comes in 6 different delicious flavours - it makes me feel all candilicious again... Like some bubble-pop sunshine pastel rainbow cutie!

Apocalyptic Chic!

Tomorrow is King's Day, it's a very important day in the Netherlands and I've spoken about it before but will definitely be talking about it tomorrow too... For now though, it's King's Night and already the place seems to be going crazy... I love seeing the people having fun, but I hate the disrespect and almost fighting attitude that some people seem to be having... Can't this be about fun and freedom, not fighting like it's the start of the Apocalypse... 

There is something about Apocalyptic Chic, the ripped fabric, the metals and wearing bullets as an accessory... I've never even seen a gun in real life, air rifles aside, but in Second Life I seem to use them kinda often... I don't know what I'd do with a real gun, I'd probably be shaking to much to be able to put anything to use... I mean, thinking about it, I don't think I'd be much help in the Apocalypse, but I KNOW I'd at least look good while thing were burning down around me...

Escape or Pancakes?!

Ever get that feeling that you want to take a picture that's totally random, makes people look at it and think what's the story behind that then?! It's one of the things I love about my ramble space, I tend not to do the same thing every time and it makes me feel happy that I can go off at a random tangent any time I feel like it... 
Today is a space adventure kinda day, the sparkle diva has to get the item back to her ship and to her home planet... 

She was running through the corridors of the BlingerHall Space Station - a backdrop from BISON - having acquired the only remaining vile of T-Virus planning to take it back to be analysed at by the scientists on her home planet... As she rounded the corner, one of the Aardvark Breakfast Bots was coming through the door, the alarm signal he gave off alerting in the Tiny Tech Bots. The Bag of Squirms - from Tardfish - that she'd brought with her as a support didn't really do much besides pay with her wings and hair, but it was comforting to know someone was there and may be trapped with her... HOW WILL THEY GET AWAY?!

Helping the Pets to Grow

Today was a goddamn nightmare... I HAD SO MANY PLANS and each of these were foiled because I am someone in charge at the place I work in, and my boss is sick and so I had to go in at short notice to cover the opening of the location... I had plans to clean-up, plans to get things blogged, plans to try and finish my book... Cleaning will have to wait though, now that I'm home... I'm going to do something to cheer me up... 

It was a gray and misty morning this morning, a fog hung over the park as I was on my way and the people in the allotments were no where to be seen until the sun came up. 
This is the time that the allotments are alive with a different kind of folk, the gardeners are sleeping but the fairies are out in force ready to help the plants grow big and strong. It's Spring after all, and for some it's the busiest time of the year... 
There was a sparkle to be seen in the fog this morning, down by the potato patch where the spuds are beginning to grow. A children's toy has been left abandoned at hometime but from the look of the writing on the lid, it's the home for a Pet Potato - a collection from Junk Food - something that seems like a child may be looking forward to, when the time is right for harvest... The Fairies are eager to help, this one was caught with her Fancy Frog - from Aardvark - friend, giving them a talking to so that they'd grow faster meaning the child got it's pet sooner...

On a Quest for a King...

It's the 31st of March... We've already been through a quater of the year and I honestly feel like it's been going by at super speed.The feeling of the speed is making me feel weary and if I'm honest, more than a little down in the dumps, and the only thing that is getting me by at the moment is the ability to get lost in my own TBR - that's To Be Read list for the people that aren't into reading like I am... I have my favourite genres, but as well as the rather darker smuttier side, I've always been a fantasy reader. I've also always LOVED anything Knights and Medieval historical based... It leads the mind to a calming, happy place... 

I needed a little magic, I needed to let my brain drift off from the current circumstances going on in the world right now and the fact that even though life is getting busier, people around me seem to be getting grumpier... You'd think that tourists coming to Amsterdam to see the flowers, would be happier as they are on vacation, but NO people act like they can do what they want, when they want, how they want and it's so disappointing and a little infuriating... 
I NEED to distract myself, I laid in the sun closing my eyes and dreaming of things that are pretty wonderful... A quest to somewhere tranquil and mystical, somewhere that the magic can soak into your skin and bring you to life... A quest for Arthur's Sword - thanks to a backdrop from The Bearded Guy - saw a Knight pause for a moment in reverence before she tried to free the sword from the stone...

Sunshine To Defrost In!

Last night I broke free and today I had a wonderful day off... The sun was shining all day and I found myself wanting to curl up in a sunny spot and read a book... I wasn't able to do that, since I have been working so much I had to catch up on the housework... Any moment I had spare, I found myself resting in any sunny spot I came across, I was taking my time to defrost...

I am NOT a Summer girl, I HATE it when it's too hot but the Spring sunshine always feels like it's revitalising. It makes you warm but doesn't feel like it hurts, it gives you energy and happiness and is the perfect dose of vitamin D. Spring is also the time of the flowers, and there are so many wonderful colours and smells and happy moments that go aong with them... 
It's the perfect time to drop my jacket and let the sun warm my skin... A perfect time to defrost...

A Demi-Goddess in the Moonlight

Magic is something that I seem to be able to find whenever I close my eyes and open my mind... I LOVE when I just open my brain and let the magic come together of it's own accord.... I'ts time's like this when beautifu things can happen... My creativity starts to sparkle and then the sparkles flow through Rudh into something that makes me smile, no matter what mood I was in before I started. That's why I'll ALWAYS think of my blog as a therapy... 

I love experimenting with colours and even though purple has NEVER been a colour I like all that much, but recently it's become much more of a royal and possible colour for me... 
Engine Room being open allows for the magic to flow more easily, since all of the pretties get the creative juices flowing. I love the way that the magic comes up for the creatures that love to explore the Engine Room... 
Today is a little more goddess like, practicing her poses with her Sunken Fang Daggers - from AURO at Engine Room - while the metals and her metallic demi-god Jules markings - from Nefekalum, also at the Engine Room  - are flickering in the moonlight and the light of the flames...

Magic at the Zaanse Schans

Since Spring is feeling like it is officially here, that means the high season in a touristic sense is coming to the Netherlands and when you work in tourism like I do, that means things are about to get CRAZY!! 
I live close to Amsterdam in a town call Zaandam, which technically is in the Amsterdam suburbs... It's famous for two things, one is the hotel that looks like a Lego construction of different houses all over each other, and the other is the Zaanse Schans... 

When I started seeing pictures people were sharing, taken at a SL Zaanse Schans, I HAD to get myself over there... It is gorgeous... Close to real-life although there are a lot less tulip fields and it seemed a lot less visitors... In the High Season the Zaanse Schans becomes a crazy place, where the tourists are bussed in by the coach-load... 
There seems to be a little more magic in Second Life as per usual... Rudh excitedly gathered her dead dollish self a large bunch of pinkish red tulips... She looked up and caught sight of something moving around the flowers... A Tulip Fairy was tending to her friends...

As the Angel waits...

Sometimes inspiration can be a weird and wonderful thing... I never know where I am going to find inspiration, and I never know from one day to the next what my brain will come up with. Sometimes I find something that other people make amazing pretties with and they go another way in my head, and other times I take something and use it in a way that's totally different from what it's meant... I LOVE when inspiration strikes me and when it comes together and ends up looking pretty...  

I tend to be crazy, random and silly, I do dark and grungy things, I do things that are considered smut - least it would be if I read them in my books - but something soft and romantic are actually harder for me... I find decorative and some other theme pictures hard to do, but the pretty, soft, romance is a hard thing for me to achieve. I NEVER feel like I could do it proper justice... 
Then The Kiwi Co created Celeste Noir and that was buried deep inside me cried... She's not your average, innocent angel, she's the kind that's close to falling from grace. Spending her evenings waiting in the tower for her darkly, demonic lover to appear and ravish her on the Glimmerveil Dreambed - from everfaery - under the canopy of flowers...

Love on the Pastel Promenade

It's the month of hearts, romance and valentines... Pretty, sweet, romantic things that make the heart flutter and those that love love, sparkle... I felt a need to do something pretty and pink and romantic and sparkly, it's not my favourite of the holidays and so I'm doing my best, even though I'm very much the Anti-Valentine right now... It's time for some hearts, romance and sparkly things... 

I wanted to create my own personal little cupid... One that looks sweet and innocent, a cute little replacement for the diapered baby, with someone a little more sweet and devious... A pretty little feathered angel, that's pale skinned and glittering hearts and dripping in pink... It's the perfect outfit to take a walk down the Pastel Promenade in the city of Love...

Rainbows, Sparkles and Happiness

It's one of those lovely lazy days when I have the day off between being stuck at work for the next couple of days... I'm busy getting things packed and ready for my trip home soon, and I'm super excited although I'll be away from my hubs for a couple of weeks. I AM GOING HOME FOR A REAL REST... Can you tell I'm excited and happy?!

I haven't felt this happy and excited about a trip home since last April when I had the concert of Take That and the most amazing seats we've ever been in for one of their shows... This time there is nothing much planned, besides a trip to see my Grandparents, and the chance to have the attention of my parents all to myself... It's a GOOD excitement... 
I feel like everything is sparkly, I'll miss Valentines but meh that holiday is a yuck one, and my hubby knows I love him anyway... He'll get a million Cream Eggs as a sign of love when I get home... For now though I'm counting down the days and enjoying that sparkly feeling I have... Rainbows and Sparkles and a boatload of happiness...
