Mushroom Harvest Starts, The Celebration Begins!

My working week is finaly done and it's the weekend, so I'm going to let my hair down and have alovely, relaxing party - Pyjama's and Relaxing Time YAY! - there hasn't been much time for that this week and I truly need a rest at the moment. I don't know why, I'm exhausted... It must be the time of year as the season is beginning to change... 
I get home and I'm about to head inside and relax when the fairy senses inside me started tingling... There was something going on in the fairy grove and I had to go check... 

When I got to the fairy glade, having morphed from standard boring human to something a little more magical, I stumbled upon a different kind of party. Not the relaxing pyjama party I'd been hoping for, but a Mushroom Buddies - a new release from Pitaya for The Fifty - have been picking Orchand mushrooms to get ready for the Autumn feasts and hibernation preparation... Now I KNOW I wasn't keen on the idea of having to do anything more than relax BUT I can't turn down this kinda party, they have tea and CAKE!!!

There is some magic in the air and as it's the Spooky season, it's definitely a little on the darker side of magic...

Raise A Hand!

 In some parts of the world, the start of September marks the start of the return to school after the summer break... Here in Amsterdam the schools will be going back on Monday - at least the majority of schools - and I know for a fact that my colleagues with Children are looking forward to sending them into school and having a little more peace and quiet... 

I ALWAYS used to love going back to school. I was such a teachers pet, a total geek and always got a little excited to go shopping for school supplies. I'm still excited by buying stationary supplies and get a kick out of starting a new notebook LOL... I loved learning new things, I loved studying and was excited by a class project... That's why I'd always be one of the ones asking the most questions at school...
I'd often be the one in the classroom waving my hand in the air like "ooh ooh ooh pick me!" and I'm not ashamed to admit it... I would have loved a better way to be achknowledged, a neon sign or a siren, or even a HUGE hand - like the Giant Hand Slapper from Junk Food, that is available until September at the current round of The Fifty - to wave at the teacher and irritate them even more than I probably did...

Prepping for the Spooky Season

I'm getting more and more excited... People are talking about Summerween and I have to admit that I am ALL for it. I'm not the kind of girl to get overly excited about Christmas or Easter or even the Summer Break, but Halloween... I'd be happy celebrating Halloween all year, maybe with a month off at Christmas for sparkly decorations... I get excited by the magic of it, the darker magic and the mystical magic and I am super excited about it...

I might start watching some of those teenie magical things to start getting me in the mood... The original Sabrina the Teenage Witch, the Hocus Pocus movies, there are so many that I could watch and enjoy... In the mean time though I might get a little practice in communicating with the dead and the art of Tarot magic, before I need it to actually communicate with the dead in October... 
Whilst practicing I've decided to pull out the old Ouija Board, I say old but it's new and pretty and lit up like a Luminous Spirit Board - this one being from MadPea at The Fifty until August 20th - and I hope that it will help me to connect to some of the cool dead ghouls out there in the dark... Friends that will come to play with me during the spooky season to come...

There's Red in the Bamboo!

I love using my blogging as a means to explore things that I wouldn't normally play around with. My basic style in SL is often dark and grungy, lots of black and plenty of metal, but my blog is full of so many random looks and styles because I LOVE the chance to play and do things that are different... 
One style that I tend to avoid is anything Asian... Japanese, Korean and Chinese dress is very popular in Second Life, but I always feel like I'm getting it wrong and although I LOVE seeing avatars that pull off the style, I always feel like it doesn't look right on me... Very occasionally though, something happens with a dress or an accessory, and my random rambling heads into a new territory for me... 

I've been whisked away on a trip to the bamboo forests of China - which in this case is actually a backdrop from Amitie - where the lanterns light the path through the bamboo to the Red Panda grove... The adorable little Red Pandas - a collection from the amazing JIAN - scamper through the wood, climbing in the trees and causing large amounts of chaos.
It was suggested that I needed to make sure they would accept my visit, I had to dress in the gorgeous Keya Dress - from miss chelsea, available at The Fifty until July 20th - so that I resembled their normal keepers, and wear some cute Red Panda Ears on a headband - although these are part of a set from HAZEL and are actually ears lol -so that they would get close enough to take the bamboo from my hand!!! Aren't they cute?!

Night Rider

Do you ever have that feeling that you never know what you are going to blog until you're actually about to take a picture and things have just miraculously seemed to fall into place... It can be put together because of anything, a backdrop or a prop, an outfit or a pose. Today it was a mixture of all of these things... A little urban, a little dark, a little gorgeous... 

A little bit futuristic, a little bit darkly urban but a lot of a sexy outfit seemed to pull this picture together today and I guess in that it could be considered a look-of-the-day... I don't often get overly excited by an outfit but this outfit makes me super happy and I'll be wearing it a while I'm sure... 
It's getting close to Midnight - a backdrop from Paleto - and I was reliving days gone by, back when I was a member of the Gators MC and rode around on the back of a super fast mean machine... I pulled my bike - which is actually part of a pose set from FOXCITY - out of the storage lock-up and waited on the street for the bad boys to come around. This little backstreet is reminiscent of the old streets of London, where you'd find bright red post boxes and phone boxes on every corner - like the ones from MadPea in the City Streets Decor Set, available seperately or as a set in PG and adult versions at The Fifty - that nowdays have been vandalized or have gone for good... 
ISN'T THIS OUTFIT HOT THOUGH?! I love the soft fluffiness of the Boa - from Mug - with the plastic of the top - also from Mug - the super tight pants with their sexy laces - from AsteroidBox - and the leather of the straps...

Happy New Year!!!

Just wanted to spend a moment to welcome in the New Year and kick out the old one... The Netherlands is as per usual, filled with the sounds of explosions while the fireworks have been lighting the sky and scaring the animals that are in their homes... I personally am with the fireworks hating animals, but I'm trying to remain calm for the sake of my puppy... 
Rudh is the one that will be heading out to party for the both of us...

Rudh isn't averse to the glitter and the sparkles and the painting of the sky - I wouldn't be if they didn't make such a fucking horrible bang, but that's just my opinion - she's going to stand and watch... Raising a glass to the new year and the passing of the old one, I'll sparkle and sip some wine and blow on the noisemaker to ceebrate... As for the Real me, I'm going to hide and hope the fireworks don't go on too long all night...

Snowflake Magic

Why is it that snow always feels so magical? It's like the swirling, sparkles of magic that slowly drift away after the magic has been cast... It always seems to make me think of fairies, of fairytale magic and of those stories that cause the imagination to run riot... That's why, snow seems to pull out the inner fairy in  me... 

The Snow Fae that seems to be luring my mind into her dark little dance, to watch whilst she creates the most intricate little sparkles... 
She may be dancing in the snow, but she wears no clothing causing frost bite to rip through her extremeties... All while things get a little Frosty... The snowflakes and ice sparkle in the moonlight, and hopefully the magic will last a little longer...

Drinking Induced Nightmares...

Yesterday was a TOTAL nightmare and today I've been a little nervous, feeling shocking due to the events of yesterday. It caused me to miss my Monsterous month target but I'm hoping that I can just carry on as much as possible. I think though, today I need a very STIFF drink, there's no better place to get myself a halloween drink, than at the nearest Halloween party... 

I don't know what I want to drink, I really need something stronger and I feel like making myself a fancy cocktail... I am having pizza for dinner, nothing as fancy as you might get at the Halloween Party - like the ones I'd laid out from vespertine - and the TWO different flavours of fancy Ice Cream for dessert, in this case I'm going for something Humane and Eyeballs - thanks to Clover and Aardvark in that order... But Now it's time to start mixing up the strongest of drinks... I'm going to mix some Crabby Apple Beer and some Mutant Energy Drinks - both of which are available from Junk Food at the mainstore - I made myself into a Shamless Martini - an accessory by Figure 8... I MAY have drunk a few of those too many, it didnt take long until the chocolates that I'd been holding onto for later became Horror Chocolates - from Aardvark - floating around my head, gnashing it's teeth at me menacingly...

That's it... September is done and dusted and that means only ONE thing... Tonight is October Eve, tomorrow is the official start of the spooky season and whilst I might not be able to do much about Halloween in RL, I m going to live it up as MUCH as possible in Second Life. Like every year, I plan on diving into the costume box, and aiming to try to complete a new look for every day of the month... Normal clothes will be taking a backseat, starting tomorrow it's time to get monstrous... 

So for probably the last time that I'll be looking human and normal for a while I'm just making sure I get myself through all of the chores that I have to do before I start playing dress up... 
One of those last ones, as the sun is setting and the last thing I have to do is take the dogs out like the Madamoiselle I am - thanks to a pose from Fashiowl. We've wandered our way to the West Post garage - a backdrop from Paleto - on the outskirts of town, and since we've wandered a little bit too far, we're waiting for the cavalry to come and pick us up to take us home... It's beginning to get cold out though, and whilst my feet are nice and snuggled up in my Maren Boots - from CULT - I feel lucky that I pulled on my old reliable jacket over the top of my super cute Adee Dress - from miss chelsea - it helps to keep the chill off...

Checking Out Myself

It's the first day of my weekend officially, I've been working so hard, and Sunday has become my Saturday... It means that it's a busy day to get things done. I have laundry, dishes, vacuuming and the dreaded task of cleaning out the cat litter box - who knew that such a little thing could leave such stinky doodies - but I will at some point have to leave the house in order to get some groceries, and that means going through the problems of getting dressed and actually leaving the house... 

Sometimes I LOVE going to the grocery store... I love days when I feel like I can get lots of treats and when you come back you have a full fridge of food so you feel like you can hibernate. The only part about it that is sucky, is that you have to get up and out of the house and be among people... 
Still had to head to the Country Grocer - a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - to pick up a few things to last me through my weekend and into the working week... 
Making sure I had plenty of delicious things, and a new pack of loo roll, I stopped at the Self Checkout - from Junk Food - to make a quick exit... The only thing about being in the store I actually enjoyed was the look that people were giving me in my adorable new miss chelsea outfit - available until June 20th at Anthem - because frankly, how could they not check out this adorable look... Now it's home at speed to put the food away and find a quiet place to curl up with a good book...

Chocolate Milkshake Goodness

It's Easter Weekend... It's insanely busy for me in RL with work being in the centre of a city that is the home of both a beautiful tulip garden and an exhibit for a world renouned Dutch artist AND in the middle of a school holiday... It's chaos. Today though is my day off before another crazy day in the cheese shop tomorrow, and so I've been taking things VERY easy... 
I'm going to miss bunny day tomorrow since I'm working, and I've decided today to try and get myself full of delicious chocolately goodness. I don't want to eat eggs, but chocolate seems like it needs to be on the menu for every meal this weekend... 

I've set up shop in my kitchen - which happens to be a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - I made sure that I had ALL of the things that I needed to make some of the most delicious coffees. HellBone had one with doughnuts and Smarties, and I opted for Slickers Ice Coffee in place of milk - thanks to the delicious sounding release from Junk Food - with pretzels, chocolate chips whipped cream and brownies to create a Sweet Tooth Peanut Salted Caramel Milkshake... 
So delicious, but I might have used a little bit too much whipped cream, it was so hard to take a sip and I ended up with it all over my nose...

What is it? A Snoring Monster!

Apparently today is National Nap Day... Since it's a National Day, there is no way that anyone can argue and it's in the rules that we HAVE to obey the national day right? 
I decided to take a day to follow this rule and curl up somewhere quiet with an amazing book, so that I could get lost in the fantasy world within the pages. On lazy days like this, I often find myself slipping deeper into the book's pages and sometimes even let myself slip off to dreamland... Since it's National Nap Day, I guess today it's definitely allowed!!! 

While I curled up and slept, I was doing the proverbial 'catching of Z's' as my mind drifted off into a dreamland with a touch of whimsy - like the amazing backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis... 
My snoring slowly drew attention of the local folk... Each of these little creatures sneaking from the pages of the dreamland world, each with their own story to tell... The Baby Corgi - from North Oak that is available until March 20th at The Fifty - who wears lots of different hats that take him on magical adventures. The cute little fairies and the other magical beings, all sneaking closer for a better look at the snoring strange monster... Luckily, one of the forest sprites was a little braver, plucking a twig from the nearby Sakura trees - the Sakura Branches are a gorgeous release from Half-Deer at Anthem - to poke the monster and see if she wakes up...

The Magic of Panjin

I just finished eating the dinner that I prepared and cooked for myself... I decided that I wanted something spicy since I've got a cold and I think I might have overdone it maybe more than a little... It started out a nice spicy flavour but by the end I didnt have enough in my glass to drink LOL... Serves me right I suppose... 
Though it made me have a need to share a picture that felt as hot as my dinner tasted. It needed to be red, spicy looking with a hint of magic, in just the way that my spicy dinner was magical enough to stop my nose running for a little while... I knew just the place... 

If you haven't heard of the beautiful location that is Panjin, you will definitely need to take a moment to head on over for a moment to explore. This place is serene, reverent and more than a little full of emotion, there is a subtle power to this sim that I've seldom felt on a sim in SL, but here its feels powerful. Windlights change the feeling, clouds make it darker or they clear and let the light sparkle over the beautiful red flowers...
I had to represent this feeling with my magical outfit, I wanted to allow the magic to flow through me from these beautiful and powerful settings to recharge my cystal ball...

Going My Way? Take Me Home Please!

Work can be quite stressful, but sometimes things can be kinda fun too... Days like today have been more than a little exhausting but the best part of the day is when the store is finally closed and I'm able to head home. I hear my pyjamas calling, there is a cup of tea with my name on it, and I'm desperate to find both... I've tidied and locked up, I've got all my things and I'm heading to the Bus Station for a ride out of town, but that means a quick little trip on a cute little tram... 

"Are you going my way?" a tram heading across town towards the bus station, and Rudh looks so well put together that it makes the real me look like a scruffy muppet.

Saucy Novels in Detention

I know that I tend to get lost sometimes when I am working on a blog post, it is the one thing that makes me feel most relaxed and trust me, today I need to switch my mind off of things that are going on, but I cannot seem to get my head into working on one of my twisted fairytales... The only thing that is coming easy seems to be the making of pretty looks that I would wear every day... So to distract myself I've decided to work on a little Look-of-the-Day... 

I don't often do things like a look of the day, I always feel a need to create a fairytale story... Today I've set up a scene that makes me feel super happy, but it's the outfit that made me feel the most happy... I LOVE how cute I look, I love that it's a little slutty and still totally adorably innocent too... 
It's an adorable outfit from Mug called "Maddie" - available until January 20th at The Fifty - that looks a little like a naughty schoolgirl uniform, and when I was dressing I knew a classroom would be a perfect location, for this adorable little "Snuggle Slut" - thanks to a tattoo from Adora-tions - to sit in her detention and read a "Saucy Novel" - from Puddles at Anthem...

Breakfast in Bed

Last night was a bad one, I'd been up and down all night with a migraine, and if you know what migraines are like you will know how much torture it was... I have migraines fairly regularly and have done since I was a teenager. There are many illnesses out there that do some horrible things to a body, but anything in the head always seems more debilitating as the brain just is far too painful to work and all you want to do is sleep...  
I finally got some sleep this morning and woke up to the hubby bringing me a cup of coffee and some painkillers in bed... Breakfast would have been nice too, but I can't get everything I want... 

I'm in bed, resting my head in both worlds... The Bed I have in Second Life is one that I've had for years because it's one of my favourite items of furniture. I love to snuggle up in my bed, it's a HUGE Wingback bed made for Sweet Dreams - from Dust Bunny - although it's so big and loaded with pillows that my plushies have been known to get lost amongst them... 
The look on my face clearly shows the way I feel, pain mixed with insomnia - thanks to Izzie's - so I think it's a good idea to stay in bed - thanks to a pose from FOXCITY - in my comfy Hati loungewear set - from miss chelsea at The Fifty until November 20th. While I was sleeping, HellBone snuck out to the local Hangry diner and made a Breakfast Run for sausage & egg muffins and plenty of hash browns, he even stopped in at the Hive to get some hot tea for me and fresh coffee for him...

Choices, Choices, which door do I choose?

Halloween has finally left the building, although I don't think it will ever fully be gone from my corner of the world. Though there is lots of magic still swirling around in the air, and I know that since Rudh is always into the magical arts, that there will ALWAYS be plenty of magic and monsters and darkness... Yet right now, as the Halloween magic fades away Rudh has a choice, is she going to be playing more on the darkside of the magic, or will she be able to follow to the light?

Standing before the doors in the Library of Portals - a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - she has to make her decision before the doors are able to close and block the magic for a while. The dark side is hoping to lure her in with it's beautiful collection of skulls and devious little monsters, but the good side is offering up sparkles and magic tricks and everythig that's cute and adorable! 
Which door should I take? Which is the right path for me... You know it's such a hard choice to make!!!

A Moth's Kiss in Hotel Transylvania

It's here, the most dark and magical weekend of the year is here... HALLOWEEN WEEKEND. The big, main event is actually on Monday, but this whole weekend is DEFINITELY the spookiest and most fun weekend of the year!! 
The magic is awake, and things are looking like magic will happen.... Let's see where the magic takes us...

Happy 16th Rezday to Me!

Today is a very special day today... It's been a fairly normal day for anyone, but me, although today is a very important day for me today since I've officially been logging into Second Life as Rudh for 16 years today. Sixteen LONG, crazy years... 
I decided to celebrate with a little party for one... A few gifts in the weekend sales and a plate of delicious Stacked Birthday Burgers... 

I made myself  plate of super delicious burgers, I stacked these Birthday Burgers - from Hangry - I dressed myself up in a bright, fun outfit that was topped off with my super, awesome Birthday Hat - from kotte, that I'd picked up as a free gift at a past Shop'N'Hop - and sat down to think back on all of my special memories... 
I've been through SO MUCH, I met my husband in SL, I met my bestest friend in the world in SL, I started working a RL job in SL, because of someone I met in SL. I have been able to fly. I became a barbie doll that can be anything from a zombie, a fairy, a mermaid and just damn pretty. I've learnt new skills and developed those that I already had. No matter how many downs I've had - and there have been plenty - I've had many, many more ups... Would I change any of it? NO CHANCE IN HELL I WOULD... Did I ever think I'd be here all this time? Do I think I'll be here for the next 10 years, the next 16 years? I damn well hope so...
