Tree Shopping

Today was my day off, it's working now until Sunday and working in retail at this time of year SUCKS with a capital suck... I've had a lovely day off today though, taking some time to get some pictures done and play with some of my SL Christmas decor, as well as doing a little RL wrapping and some general household chores... 
There was one thing that I needed to make sure I did today... It involved trees... 

There have been so many things on my to-do list today, and one of those was going to a tree farm. This year we HAVE to have a fake tree since my monster in law is moving into my house when we go home to the UK over New Year. Normally I LOVE going to choose myself a real tree, with it's soft needles and the scent of pine. 
So today, I took myself over to the gorgeous Moochie where 'Tis the Season with my St.Bernard Puppy - from Jian - in his soft reindeer outfit and myself dressed in something warm and some big ol' Alice Boots - which are the new release from PSYCHO.Byts - that are perfect for any time you wanna look good whilst having warm toes! Our mission, pick out a tree, roll it up and take it home to adorn my home and make it festive!!!

A Cute Fairy Forest

I've been a little bit on the nervous side today since HellBone has been in the hospital, and in times like that when I'm trying to distract myself I tend to vere towards something pretty, something magical and maybe something fairy-orientated! 
Funnily enough that's precisely what happened... I found myself drifting to a magical place in the depths of the fairy wood... 

I couldn't resist decorating a fairytale grove with some Glorious Grove items - from the new collection by Krescendo at FaMESHed - and once the decorating party was started I simply couldn't resist the free gifts of Sun Balloons - that have been set out by MadPea for the anniversary round of FaMESHed this month - that brought a little sunshine to my clearing in the woods...

I don't wanna play Mouse Trap!

Sometimes it's as if a designer gets into my head...One of my favourite creators, a super awesome Pineapple man managed to get into my head and managed to create something that would be perfect for me... A little extra cheese in a life that's already super cheesy... 

This designer knows that my normal 9 - 5 job is in retail. I work in a cheese shop in the middle of Amsterdam for a company called Henri Willig. We sell all kinds of delicious gouda cheese, made from cow, goat and sheep milk, with all kinds of different flavourings, smokings and aging... It's a delicious place to work. 
Yet, when I put on the most amazing new release from Ananas - that you can get your hands on at a discount this weekend - it was like Diffthought had gotten into my head and made it just for me... The Mac part of this costume aside, I LOVE THE CHEESE!!! I wasn't prepared what happened next, while I was dancing around in my cheese, HellBone accidentally hit the shrink button on a gun borrowed from a crazy inventor and I shrank... Then I had to run for my life...

Waiting on the Midnight Order!

There is something coming, an event that will titilate the darker side of your mind... Perhaps when the Midnight hour will arrive and the Midnight Order surges in, the details will be revealed! In fact I'm pretty sure that will happen as the Midnight Order's first anniversary round will be opening it's doors and the pretty darkness will be released... Until that time I'm going to try and relax with a fresh cup of coffee to calm my excitement... 

Under the glittering Midnight dome - a new release from #LuluB! for Midnight Order - on the terrace of the Arch Arcanum - from Celeste, also at Midnight Order - Rudh decided to sit at one of the elegant Twisted Garden Tables - from Eclectica Curiosities. a third item that can be found at the upcoming Midnight Order round - and decided to drink herself a fresh cup of Gothee Coffee - from Violetility, again at Midnight Order - which can be ordered and brewed right at your table! I think I might take the time to wait, while I drink my declicious coffee, with an awesome new and very interesting book. Maybe a Help Book, like the ones from IVY - a decor and holdable accessory created for Midnight Order...

Surviving Hell - Australian Bushfire Wildlife Benefit

A couple of days ago I posted a rambling about the Australian Bushfires Wildlife Benefit which is set to take place over the Australia Day weekend. Plans were being set in motion for a grand event called "Surviving Hell - Australian Bushfire Wildlife Benefit" in which Kay Weston - of Image Essentials -  and Ally Dwyer Applewhyte - of Something New - were getting the ball rolling seeking support for the fundraiser! 
Well, today is the BIG day... The HUGE event that is Surviving Hell - Australian Bushfire Wildlife Benefit will start today, and it's going to be amazing! Congrats to Kay and Ally for organizing something that should - I say should to be optimistic, WILL is more likely - raise funds and awareness in support for the RSPCA to provide care to so many of the injured animals that were caught in the Australian Bushfires... 

My Thirsty Kangaroo friend and I - he's a pose prop from Image Essentials by the way, that will see 100% of sales donated to the Australian Bushfire Wildlife Benefit - are here to share all the details because trust me, aside from the good feeling of being able to donate to the cause, you WON'T want to miss this event!!!
It is split over two parts... The performances and the shopping!! Since I'm a bonafide shopaholic, we'll start there... 
The shopping side of things is being hosted by the minds behind FaMESHed - located on the FaMESHed X sim - and the list of participating names is EPIC! Stores like Apple Fall, Lapointe & Bastchild, Lelutka, Blueberry, Image Essentials, Something New, Witchcraft, Cult and Nantra - to name just a VERY SMALL few - will be donating either items that will have a 100% donation towards the event or will be giving away some fantastic raffle prizes that you can enter to win! One of these prizes is a YEAR LONG ACCESS to the FaMESHed Blogger Group with early access for 2 friends for an entire year! Who wouldn't wanna win a prize like that?! I know I cannot wait to enter, that sounds totally amazing! 
I told you it was going to be EPIC, but wait as if that wasn't enough there will also be the events taking place on the performance sim - as a side note, there will be a full set of vendors and some of the raffles taking place at the performance sim too! There will be 19 live singers taking part on the performance sim over Saturday and Sunday, and there is something for everyone - all kinds of styles and tastes are being catered for, with some amazing singers performing and sharing their talents to raise awareness and funds for the event! Feisty and covered in Tentacles

I spent the last few days letting someone's pathetic drama make me feel depressed and lost. I wonder why people feel the need to try to target you just to make themselves look and feel better. Words get twisted and used against you... It kinda makes you want to stop talking to anyone, but then I guess that's their intention. 
Normally I'd have slipped into a slump and wanted to hide from everything for a while, but I made a comment about it on Facebook and the reaction from people that I know - or in some cases barely know - have been so supportive, I'm not gonna let that happen... I'm going to ignore the pettiness and carry on with my daily life knowing that they are going to meet Karma one day!! 
For some reason the fiestiness is festering something weird and creepy in me pictorially lol... 

One again though, what started off with something small ended up meaning that the entire picture went in a randomly weird direction. I'm not complaining but it's always fun to see where I end up with things... 
This time I started out with the awesome Occult Mask - from Zombie Suicide - which is available at The Black Fair until October 19th - adding more tentacles from Zombie Suicide in the form of this awesome necklace, some extra tentacles from Nightmare and even a friendly octopus from {aii}... Yet hanging out with octopi is always a bit of a danger, you never know where those suckers are gonna stick, as my marks will show, I just hope I don't swallow one of the ones in my mask LOL...

When the Gift Box is this AWESOME...

I've been shopping today... It's a great way to spend a Lazy Sunday, but on my travels I found something super exciting and I HAVE to share it with you... 
I was checking out landmarks for stores I know and love, one of those is the pose store Reve Obscura, and when I landed I spotted something kinda new... There was a new store close by called N.Skizb, and it drew my attention!!! Let me tell you a little bit about what I found... 

N.Skizb is a pose store, very similar in style to the poses made by Reve Obscura - which makes a little sense seeing as the pose maker is the lady of Mr. Lyriqz Xue of Reve Obscura - you can get single statics for women, the three as yet available couples poses and even some VERY awesome props poses! I was very impressed by what I saw, and although the store is still fairly empty, you can tell that even though it's early days, this store is going to be great!!! 
I bought myself a few pretty poses - no doubt I'll end up going back in for more too - and I suppose I should point out that until April 26th all of the currently available poses are 50% Off... 25L ONLY FOR SINGLES AND PROPS, AND 50L ONLY FOR COUPLES POSES!!! FTW!!! 
Though what caught my attention most, before I'd even tried the poses themselves, was the box that they came packaged in... YES I am posing with the store box in my picture today, but when you see such a cute box how can you not be more than a little excited by the predictably amazing things to come... I am really looking forward to this new store's designs, and cannot wait to see what they come up with, but don't trust me... I'm not normally someone that gets into this holiday, I will totally admit that for me it's just like any other ordinary day, but it seems like the rest of the world goes crazy for it! Second Life is over run with lucky clovers and Guinness, and I'm guessing it's more to do with Irish descendants than the Irish themselves... There cannot be that many Irish people in SL?! Or can there??!!! 

Anyway I've said I don't normally get into this holiday, yet here I am posing like a crazy drunk person while standing in Dublin looking a little like a leprechaun threw up all over me... and I enjoyed it too...
Although it's not entirely my own fault... I have a bit of a store crush on a place called JACKALOPE... I've mentioned it here before countless times, and this time in particular, they were not only having a sale, but a hunt too... I couldn't stop myself!! This Louise Tee and Fishnet Combo is one of the hunt prizes that is available until March 20th! 
The rest of the outfit wouldn't have worked without a little mean green... Some white shorts - which I fully admit I recoloured myself but LOVE them just for that reason lol - and LOTS of clovers... Now all I need to finish is a pint of Guinness...

Le Cirque Des Reves

The Circus arrives without warning.

No Announcements precede it...

It is simply there, when yesterday it was not!

The sign on the gate reads 'Le Cirque Des Reves', Opens at Nightfall, Closes at Dawn.

As dawn arrives, Rudhmellowen stumbles through the gates. Her mind filled with the wondrous things she has seen... So many sights, so many smells, the magic to be found around every corner. When the circus arrived, people began to whisper about the strangeness of a cirque appearing without warning. Yet as they passed through the gates these rumours slipped from their minds, replaced by awe and happiness... 
Who were the masters, the creators, the imaginators of this feast for the mind... How was it all even possible? 
Rudh had to go back, she had to see more... But how long would the Cirque Des Reves - The Circus of Dreams - be reality, something more than a legend amongst the people of the town? 

OK Back to reality a little, I mentioned yesterday whilst talking about Elysion's location that is LUNA, of a place opening by the design team that I was REALLY excited about. Last night, Syn Beresford and her team, held the magical parties at Le Cirque Des Reves...
I GOT SO EXCITED!!! I wasn't able to make it to the party due to time and a crappy PC, but this morning when I woke up I couldn't get there fast enough, and it was SO PRETTY. The location, and event theme, is based on one favourite books that I've read in recent years, called "The Night Circus" - by Erin Mortgernstern - and it's a vintage story with some romance and mystery mixed into a great deal of magic. If you love reading it's one that I'd really recommend, and as the latest location creation from Elysion's team would suggest, it seems I'm not the only one! 
Now I'm not going to ramble on about my outfit, the only thing I will say is that you NEED to be in Monochrome to be allowed here. It's part of the story and theme of the location, but trust me it's well worth the visit... Thank you Syn for bringing this story to life
Go now, you never know when Le Cirque Des Reves will move on from here, just as it appears. One day it's there the next it's gone without a trace!

Mystical Lunar

Recently I was asked to help with creating some promotional photos for an upcoming event, and I've been finding it SO difficult to get my head into the zone... Though I did some exploration and have found the PERFECT location to set the mood for the photos, all I need to do is go out there and get snapping!!! I was a good little Rudhie, going out scouting locations, and even making a few test shots... Shots like the picture I've decided to share with you today because well, even though it's a test I really like it!!! 

Let's call it a look of the day just to make it easier, but I am soooooo happy with this location, Rudh is positively dancing with glee... It's a location I've been to many times before but it's had a bit of a make-over and I'd definitely encourage you to check out the Mystical Fae Forest again! 
To be honest this look could have been one of the ones that I offered up to the event organisers, but let's just say it's something to set the tone for what I'm cooking up and whisper that "The Season of the Witch" is coming!! 
Now onto the look of the day bit, I was playing around with the outfit anyway, it's cute but actually it is the props that give it more of a witchy feel I think. This gorgeous Lunar Halo Set from Nightmare and this adorable Lunar Hanging from Ama, which are still available at The Coven until August 24th from Nightmare, look like props that were dreamt up together. I LOVE the Halo, which comes in 8 different colours AND has a rotating version - that you obviously cannot see here but trust me it's awesome. The Lunar Hanging is actually wall decoration as you may be able to tell by the placement in the hands, BUT it looked kinda cute as an accessory with the right pose and that was where Image Essentials and the Batter Up Pose Series came in handy - just forget the bat and voilá it looks fairly ok!! Gotta love poses like this where you can use them with or without the props!! 
Again, Voilá a look of the day, and now I cannot wait to see what these pictures for the event will be!!! So excited!!!

I'm off to the House of the Mouse

Oh my gosh it's finally here, the eve of the day before I disappear for a few days!! I mentioned it before but tomorrow is the special family trip that has been planned for a while and it's finally here. TOMORROW I'M GOING TO EURODISNEY!!
My parents are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary on Sunday May 7th, and decided that they would like to do a special family trip to the house of the mouse. Dad keeps telling everyone he's taking a trip with his little girls, my sister and I are now in our late 20s and early 30s, but we're not about to burst his bubble - both of us are die hard Disney fans - even if it does mean we have to endure the Small World ride more than once LOL...

Rudh will not be coming with me though, I'm going to be MIA for a few days, and she was a little sad about it, but I made it up to her by finding an awesome Disney Tribute location in SL called ForeverLand. If you want a park of Magic, and have a craving for Disney, then THIS is the place to go to see the characters! 
I even let her get dressed up - though I have a feeling her outfit might get her kicked out of the real Disneyland... She found her top, which is part of a set of characters from a store called TOXICDOLLS - and as Pluto is Hell's favourite that's the one she went for. She punked things up with some awesome spiked jewellery - available from Suicidal Unborn at The Dark Style Fair, and even pulled on a pair of punkish Minnie Mouse Ears - from Dirtyland - anything in an attempt to get me to allow her to come too... 
No such luck Rudh, I'm going without you this weekend, but never fear everyone, not long and I will be back home!

For Fox Sake!

I slept really badly, and as a result I'm feeling rubbish this morning. No amount of coffee seems to be able to wake me up and I just feel like hiding all day - maybe that is what I will do LOL... Nightmares leave me feeling shaken up all day and not a very happy person, and right now I'm in run and hide mode... Either that or revert back to my childlike ways hehe... 
I reach out to my blog in an attempt to talk things through and feel better, but for some reason even this isn't working, so maybe a distraction technique... How about a Look-of-the-Day?!

This is one of those somewhat kid-like but grown up versions of kid-like outfits, that started with a simple but awesome top. 
I found the Prue Crop Top a this month's round of anyBody from one of my favourite stores, JACKALOPE! They had a variety of colours, with and without patterns, but seriously how could anyone resist "Oh for fox sake!" I then added just a little more foxiness in the form of this adorable Peaches plushie from The Stars That Laugh Gacha Collection - available until April 30th at Gacha Guardians just so you know - and dressed accordingly adorably!!

Psst, Wanna buy a Bear?!

Now that I lost my main source of income in RL I am thinking about opening a new business for myself... Maybe something interesting that would be fun to do, although right now I'm not quite sure where that will lead me, I am thinking about it in SL too... I need to find a way to fund my virtual shopping habits... I have been thinking about trying to make a business out of my love of photography - but I don't want that to diminish the enjoyment that I do get out of it - so maybe I'll work on other things... Something a little naughty perhaps?! 

Pft silly bums, you thought I would be going into the age old art of selling myself! I had thought of that idea, but to be honest I'm not sure anyone would buy me, so then I cottoned on to a different idea... COUNTERFEIT BEARS! 
I was so lucky, thanks to a little thing called The Arcade, that I found a NOMAD business in a box for those willing to deal in counterfeit teddybears. 
I set up a little stand, and found the perfect disguise in the form of an AsteroidBox Bucket Costume so that no one will know it's me... Maybe I should have thought more carefully before I chose where to set out my stall, I mean right outside my house wasn't really my smartest move, but I was thinking kinda weirdly illogically and was like "well a girl needs to have easy access to a toilet and drinks right?!"

Whore Couture Girl Time

It's been a long time since I did something a little risqué and I feel that a little naughty is probably a good idea right about now... Something that will make me smile at least, and the picture that I'm about share with you definitely caused that!! What should have been a rather sexy photo-shoot, caused a massive fit of the giggles between myself and my good friend Lilian, and although for us the naughty effect wasn't so much naughty but silly, we definitely got the good feeling that we needed out of it!
It all started with a little event called Whore Couture, an event specifically designed to bring out the bad girl in us ladies, and at the same time get all the bad boys drooling... 

It ended up in a picture that may or may not have been staged! I'll leave that to your dirty little imaginations! 
The pose used is one from Come Soon called Cigar - which is available at the Whore Couture Fair and includes the pose and setting - but I have to admit that I added a few extra little details for a little more "spice". All of the toys and some of the props on the table have been added as that little extra so if you want that spice make sure you take a look to see what I've included! 
Covered in bite marks, hickies and lipstick, you will see that we had a little fun, now Lil needs a breather and a bit of a smoke, and who knows maybe we will play again, maybe next time if you're very good we may let you join in hehe!!!

Everyone needs a Sick Day right?!

Last night I hurt myself pretty bad, I thought I'd be strong and it wasn't so bad but this morning, oh my god this morning it's worse than I thought. I fell down the stairs yesterday, narrowly missing smashing a glass in my hand, as well as smacking my head on the wooden floor, but in the process - and I'm not sure how - I managed to hurt my foot. Now I hear from a RL friend that I may have broken a couple of toes! 
So maybe it's lucky, maybe it's not, but I am going to have to work from home today! 
Rudh's sick too... A different kind of sick, but still not going anywhere other than the sofa!

It's that time of year again, Cold and Flu season, and even our avatars are not immune to the sicknesses - even though we make them suffer ourselves LOL, and there is nothing more contagious in SL than Drama STDs! 
Thanks to Izzie's - for the amazing Sick Face make-up that you can catch when you're at Tannenbaum - and Sari-Sari - for the awesome Am-Sick Gacha items available at The Arcade - it's easy to make your avatar look terribly sick! Without any make-up - can you see her zits LOL - and her hair in a messy pony tail, Rudh like me in RL will be spending the day under her Sari-Sari blanket in her messy Pjs with her teddybear.

Waking up in a Dream

I woke up this morning in a bed that was in my childhood bedroom... It was like heaven... The only thing that made it different from then was that a large snoring lump was laying there taking up a lot of room... Then sun was coming through the curtains, casting that warm glow over the room. It felt like something out of a dream... 
Something that I can share with you in a SL photo that I took before I left home! 

I was asleep in my playhouse tree house, on my large new hanging bed from brocante - which is available until May 27th at FaMESHed - listening to the sounds of the little Jian Kitten that followed me home from the shopping event. The sound of the purring was there in RL too, my cat that was a rescue but that I had to leave at Mum and Dad's when I moved to Holland was sat there looking at me... 
Day two, morning one of waking up at my parents... I don't want to go back to Holland already!

Rudh's got a new Wendy House!

I am Rudh of two houses in SL... I have my pretty and "main" - though I tend to split my time between the two - house which is my Dust Bunny tree house. This is the place I have my blogging office, it would be where I called my bedroom and it even has a very small space in the corner for HellBone LOL... 
The second house has always been somewhere I have referred to as my "play house" and I use the term play in a PG-ish kinda way. It makes me feel happy to have a room full of fun and crazy toys - as well as other odd pretties - just like I did in my childhood wendy house! 
The reason for this ramble is that as of a few days ago, I am in the middle of a house upgrade... Still the same wendy house type feeling but this time I've moved UP into the trees hehe... 

I went from a single storey, one room wendy house, to a single storey but high rise two roomed wendy house... I fell in love with the Yara Treehouse from Trompe Loeil as soon as I saw it at Collabor88 this month, and although I loved my little house before I felt I needed a project and an upgrade was a good idea! 
I took it slow, playing with clothes and taking pictures so that I had breaks here and there, and I am still no where near finished but I had to take a few minutes to sit and think - and maybe snap a little picture or two hehe!! 
I couldn't help it, this new Petite Mort dress - called MIRA - is so cute, especially when teamed with a pair of pretty REIGN sandals. It will make a perfect look for the coming Summer months... 
What a lovely tea break, now back to work decorating for me... YAY!

Today has been a like a little slice of heaven... I've had a "ME" day, one of those days which until this point has been all about me... HellBone has been at work, I've done the minimal amount of chores that I can, and I've "wasted" a vast proportion of my day in SL taking some photos and generally enjoying myself... A little picture taking, a little shopping, a little decorating of my new house and that's it... Everything has been great. 

To end the day of me time in style, I'm gonna get Lil to come and pick me up in her new little red sports car and drive us off into the sunset, maybe to a place with some hot guys and some good music?! Knowing my luck we'd end up at the MC with the guys we see everyday though...

Going to be a Lewd Ink Master

I'm not much of a television watcher... I tend to spend so much time logged into SL that I don't have time enough, and I'd rather sit with my nose tucked into a book when I'm not online. Yet there are times when Hell and I will curl up in front of something on the TV and sit entranced... We tend to watch a lot of documentaries, and of course I am a Supernatural girl still, but sometimes we get hooked on other weird things and at the moment that is a show called "Ink Master"... Contestants battle it out every week to see who makes the best tattoos for a chance to win $100,000... Being honest, it's not good TV but it is easy to watch and I love see the creative tattoos that come from the competitors.
I'm rambling for a reason trust me... I recently joined the blogging team of a store called Lewd... I was head over heels with this place's crazy creations as soon as I saw them advertising the "Bowl of Dicks" on Flickr - trust me I will be sharing that with you very soon LOL - but this is one of those stores I think of as treasures... Nothing to serious, things that are well-made and a lot of things that appeal to my crazy, weird girl side...

One set of things that come from Lewd - and are the reason for my earlier ramble - is this awesome Inked Tattoo Parlour Set. It comes with a Chair, Table and Stool as well as props for those perfect picture moments, like this one...
I was just setting up my little tattoo parlour when a sailor walked in through the door - yes that's a Boogers Bear but he was the only one brave enough to get a Rudhish Tat - I jumped on the stool - using a pose from Signature Pose because this stool wasn't scripted, although if someone 'real' sits in the chair an artists stool will appear - and he left with a Heart Mom tattoo!! 
Anyway, one happy customer, who will be next for a Rudh Tat?! I need some more practice before I go on Ink Master LOL.. Hell better sleep with one eye open!!!
