Can you hear that?? The wind is whistling through the keyhole of a brand new Loot Box that is coming to Second Life this month... There isn't long left now and very soon Pandora's Box will open to reveal it's deep, dark and most treasured secrets. Locked inside this gothic little loot box, those of us with a darker side will find treasures abound, from some very cool designers with a penchant for the more alternative side of Second Life. Today, I'm not planning on sharing the pretties that are the hidden contents, instead I'm going to give you the details so that you too can be the bearer of your very own key to Pandora's Box...
Let me start at the very beginning - because as Julie Andrews once said "it's a very good place to start"... For those of you that have no idea what a loot box is - where have you been hiding for the last 6 months or so - this seems to be a new craze that's gripped many members of Second Life, and like the Gacha craze there is a small element of chance with each and every box... Basically, you pay a set amount of money - in the case of the Pandora's Box the initial amount is 1500L - and are able to join a group, which you need to remain a member of until the box is released on the 22nd of each month. Then on the 22nd of the month, if you're in the group, you will be sent your very own Pandora's Box filled with goodies from 10 different designers - that you can see listed in the picture above - and that's where the chance comes into play, because there's a chance you won't like things inside, but there's also a chance that you will LOVE everything in the box... Risk is, you won't know what you're getting till you get the box!!!!! Isn't it exciting?! HOWEVER, if you decide you want to wait until things start being shown off by bloggers and designers alike, then you're able to do so... After the box is released on the 22nd of the month, the group will remain open - although the cost to join will increase to 2500L - and you will be able to get all the goodies inside! If this is your plan though you will need to hurry! On the 30th of each month, the group will be cleared and the whole process will start again for the coming month!! Sounds simple right? Bento seems to be great... Something that we've been waiting for, for the longest time it seems and as I've mentioned before the whole world seems to be getting on the band wagon - either that or they are stuck in the anti-mesh group of people - nowadays it seems like everything comes in Bento... Poses, Jewellery, even Body Parts - one of my friends won't stop talking about his Bento Balls, I really dare not ask! Though I am not fully ready to go totally Bento - there's no chance I will be upgrading my head just yet for example - for my Birthday I was given Bento Hands from Vista, and I have to admit, I love them! I've played around with them for a while and tested them in various poses, but I have to say the first close-up outing they are getting in my rambling space is a little rude!!
It's a little like me saying "F**K OFF, I'm Rudemellowen" LOL... I love the ease to change these into different poses, and the way they wiggle thanks to my new AO... I also love that I can dress them up with some gorgeous new rings and things - rings like the ones I'm wearing here from Ama that are available in the LootBox Gacha Event. OK I know the gesture is rude, but I'm sorry, I was at a place called "The Freak Show" - which you should really check out because it's so well set up and very pretty - and my new Lip Tattoo - from the Nightmare Lip Tattoo Set - was already saying it without saying it, I just made it clearer in my gesture that's all! I LOVE this time of year... It's a bit bloody cold but hey I freaking love that! I've never been a fan of the hot weather and always find myself jumping for joy a little when the cold seasons start. I love being able to snuggle down, wrap up warm and cuddle a cup of tea. Nothing makes me happier than curling up with a cuppa when it's quiet and I'm under a blanket with a few candles and the fairy lights that I use in my living room twinkling away. I think though, recently I found my new favourite sofa to do just that on... I just wish I had one in RL lol... It's never a Sad November when you can have a sofa like this!!!

Something has been playing on my mind recently and although I am away from home I cannot seem to shift the notion that is burning there... So today to clear my head a little maybe it's time I discuss with you my thoughts on anonymity in SL...
It always seems so easy for people to hide their true natures behind a mask in Secondlife. A person's reasons may vary, and I agree that in some cases this anonymity can be a valuable thing but hiding behind a mask when it is used to belittle and harm others is when things become less protective and more twisted. It's this kind of concealing of someone's true nature that is one of my biggest pet hates about the Secondlife world. I could go off on a long rant about people wearing masks of anonymity giving them the power to feel like they can get away with saying and acting in just the way they please, but I'm not going to bother. I wrote the things I wanted to say and deleted them before I could post them, what is the point in fueling the fires and giving in to those people, giving them exactly what they want which at the end of the day is basically a form of control over other people. Instead I am going to say, personally I choose to wear my mask on the outside - with me what you see is what you get and if you don't like who I am then you do not need to be a part of my Secondlife - go live your own! The mask I'm wearing today is one that is available until the awesome Momento Mori event closes sometime later on, from the awesome designer that is Le Morte. I needed this mask it was calling to me... Tempting my inner demons! I'll definitely miss this shopping event until it's next outing. I got my blogger groove back... I lost it for a while due to some over the top drama, but I think I have refound that spark which makes me tick... I've started to be creative again and I am actually finding it more therapeutic than I even remembered... WHY DID I LOSE MY GROOVE FOR SO LONG?! Yesterday I was sent some awesome new make-ups from one of the stores that I have been working with as a blogger for a while, and it really sparked my imagination. I never wear much make-up in RL, mostly because I am kinda crap at putting it on, but in SL it's soooooo easy... Just the click of a button... It allows you to experiment so easily with colours and styles... That's why today, I am trying PURPLE!
It's not my usual colour by any means, in fact normally I tend to shy away from Purple, but when I saw the colours in the new make up sets I kinda wanted to give it a try. The Harajuku Facial Stickers, the Mitsuko Glitter Eyebrows and the Momotaro Lipsticks are all brand new releases from PSYCHO.Byts for the newly opened Cosmetic Fair! If that wasn't enough purple, I randomly decided that I wanted to wear some purple hair - in the form of this Wasabi Pills "Chanel" style - and even decided to add some amazing Phantom Eyes from Suicidal Unborn... It's here... It's finally here... A VERY important day in the life of Rudhmellowen Laguna, and also the RL Emily behind the avatar... TODAY IS MY 10th REZDAY!!! Yes, you read that right, I've spent 10 years in SL riding the changes that SL, along with both my RL and SL selves, have been pulled through...
Looking back I wouldn't change a single thing!!! I started in SL 3 years after it was created - I know that there are older people out there, but I think 10 still entitles me to be referred to as a SecondLife Dinosaur. I was here pre-Mesh, pre-Sculptie, and even pre-Flexi... When I first logged Rudh in world her hair was like a large plastic looking lump stuck to her head! My first hair purchase was something that looked akin to a floppy spider - but hey back then it looked AWESOME! Now days, I look just a little different - having two distinct sides to my fashion personality, the rebel biker chick with just a touch of kinky goth and the crazy rainbow cuteness with a touch of pretty and a sprinkling of madness!
It's been 10 years of adventures... I've done so many things that I'd never thought possible... I learnt new skills - I'm a dab hand at photoshopping things now - and even found myself a RL job working in the SL world! I've been a Fairy and a Vampire, a Witch and now a Zombie - least that's the Living Dead Girl style I try to portray - however it seems I'm more biker chick than anything else since I stepped into the role of Gators MC Secretary. I've been a friend, a sister and a mother - and although people come and go, fights and fall outs have been numerous over the 10 years, each of you have made me stronger and built me to the person that I am today. A journey that started out with dragons as friends lead me to knowing people that I cannot be without - my bestieface, my brothers and sisters and even my hubby all came into my life because of this "game". So when I look back over the 10 years, and people tell me that I have been wasting my time - it's been known to happen in RL on the odd occasion as I am sure some of you will be able to attest to - I sit back and smile... There is no where else I'd rather have spent the last 10 years. This rollercoaster of a SecondLife has been an epic journey, but one that I am so glad I stepped into - and to think when I started I wasn't sure I'd make it till the end of the month LOL... Oh my gosh I cannot quite believe that I am awake this morning. I have a terrible headache but somehow my body is on a warpath against me and it will not let me sleep more. On another note I cannot believe that I managed to get a post about the Hair Fair Freebies done before it opened too LOL... I was working my little blogging butt off last night trying to get everything ready... Now I am freaking knackered and even though this morning I have tried to make a pretty picture, there really is only one thing on my mind...

I'm sorry that I have been so quiet for the last few days, I am still currently on holiday in England, but as we are having a quiet Sunday you may get a couple out of me today. I'm leaving tomorrow afternoon and already there is a feeling of dread at having to leave my childhood home behind me. I know that it won't be long until I am back but you know how it is, it's always a pull at the heartstrings to walk away. I woke up this morning in a bed that was in my childhood bedroom... It was like heaven... The only thing that made it different from then was that a large snoring lump was laying there taking up a lot of room... You caught me red handed... Late in the night when the Gators are sleeping,I sneak into my office... In the day time it's the place I go to plan or write my blogging posts... It's stuffed full of the things I use to inspire me, so many pictures, flowers, and all the accoutrements of a bloggers messy desk, it really helps me to focus. Yet once the sun goes down and things start to get a little quiet, there are secrets to my office that no one would suspect... I have a secret stash of all things bad for me hidden in a locked safe far from prying eyes hehe...
The safe is buried under a soft rug in my office - courtesy of Lost Junction, safe manufacturers - and it contains a huge stash of chocolate and cookies and cakes and all the things that a girl shouldn't have... I don't think that my outfit was good for sneaking around the house at night though, it's a little too light in colour, but I do love the Addams pants and jacket that I recently was gifted by my fairy god mother. But sshh don't tell anyone where I hide my sweeties... It's taken me a very long time to get to this point, but I made the decision and took the plunge. It took me HOURS of discussions with myself - my poor head was spinning - and even Hell was done before I was... I tried on many different types, found one I kinda liked and kept trying it on until I loved it... After that there was just one thing holding me back, but thanks to the kindness of a stranger, I was able to stop myself holding back and free fall... The funny thing though is that all the time we've been together, Hell and I have always said we'd never be matchy-matchy, in the same way that some twee couples can be... Not that that's a bad thing but I am one of those people that needs to look like an individual and matching my hubby just makes me feel a bit cheesy... Until Now at least... HellBone and I are now Mr & Mrs LOGO Head LOL...
Before I elaborate on things though, this has to be one of my all time favourite photos of HellBone and I. It shows that sometimes he can be my strength and support, sometimes he can carry me and the vast majority of the time I feel safe too... All these things are shown in this picture, and he made me smile when I asked him to make me a list of what he was wearing and he said "You". Now to the head thing... I'd been considering the Mesh Head idea for a while, and had tried on all of the ones I could get my hands on demos for, but somehow none of them seemed right. I wasn't willing to settle for one that I didn't feel comfortable in, but then I stumbled upon the LOGO Chloe head and my mind was made up. I found the head I wanted, the appliers for a Glam Affair Skin that I wanted and then hit another stumbling block... My Scar!! I wasn't ready to give up my scar - I'm still not - but after summing up some courage I contacted antielle's owner Kaorinette to see if there was any possibility that my favourite non-applier scar could be put into an OMEGA applier... DID YOU KNOW THAT ANTIELLE CLOSED?! I was so sad to find that out - although I know that CURELESS is her new store! She was so gracious, so friendly and so happy to hear that I'd made one of her designs part of my everyday SL that she was willing to lend me a hand - thank you so much Kaorinette, it means so much to me!
What do you think of my before and after mugshots?! It's going to take me a little bit of getting used to even though things are proportionally the same - or pretty similar at least - but I really like it... They put some strong stuff in decongestant cough medicines I swear... It's either that or the fact that I seem to possibly be drinking too much of the stuff?! It leads to some funny dreams... OK OK So in my homage I am not dressed exactly like Minnie Mouse, and I am not terrorising the real Disneyland but it's all close enough... The buildings are actually within DRD's store as a display in miniature of one of their street scenes which you could have as a full size scene! It looks close enough that it could be Disney something anyway hehe... The outfit was one that came about because of the Mouse accents... Created by the minds behind DirtyLand... Yesterday I had another emotional breakdown, and the monsters within were allowed to rear their ugly heads - not sure if I can get away with calling my demons ugly but it's out there now and I'm not able to take it back - but as a result my photos tend to look darker. Not sure if that is a bad thing, I think I prefer my darker and more creative side... It's that side of me that creates the most interesting images I feel, and today I let my mind run wild with a series of three stone cold beauties in tow...
The demons in me attacked these stone beauties and stole them to the dark recesses of my mind... Drawing just a little blood... I swear it was only a little! Look at my face, how could someone this sweet and innocent looking cause too much blood hehe... Look at how delicately I am gagged with that pretty flower - from Cureless [+] at ROMP - I was good I didn't crush it!!! The ladies are actually a statue from Paper Moon. Paper Moon has been pretty quiet as of late due to the owner's RL, BUT she's back - ish - and has decided to hold a storewide sale - gachas excluded - with EVERYTHING being 50% off! The sale ends on January 15th, so get your little shoppaholic butts down there, or my demons will be coming after you, and I will be bringing my stony friends too! One more thing that I want to show you, as I've done before, I felt it's right to break down the layers of my facial decor hehe... I used various layers to build up the look above... Starting with my basic face wound that I am rarely without from antielle, and adding a Scarred Face Tattoo from Corvus before as a finishing touch to the eyes I added an old but still favourite [mock] Zombie Makeover look!

I'm still away on vacation, but still making sure that I have plenty of time to make time for you... I am stuck in a place with a woman that, without being too rude, is driving me bonkers and am spending most of my time with my nose in a book.. Yet I'm wishing that the Living Dead Doll Rudh was here to entertain. That side of me would know how to escape the craziness that is my mother-in-law and so today, I am going to let her out while I am writing a blog post at least! The Living Dead Queen is here to welcome you into the new year, and as the first outing of my Dead Girl side this year I am really pleased to see the somewhat cheeky look on her dead face!
The hat was a gift, that I will be thinking of as a Christmas present from someone who was interested in becoming a Gator but has since changed his mind... Still he gives good presents and I'm not going to complain. The present in question was the awesome Remarkable Oblivion Dame de Lys hat, and when I teamed it with my new London Ruff from Junbug - that I picked up at the latest round of Uber before I left for my trip - it just seemed far too perfect... Though it was too pretty, and that was where the Living Dead me stepped in hehe... Though she wanted to let me know a little secret of how the scarring on her face was layered up... This would normally be a closely guarded secret but just this once...
The final product is the picture on the left, the last layer I put on was one from Suicide Girls called Hellish, that added the blood and smears, prior to that I'd used the antielle Kuchisake Onna so that my mouth had been sliced over the top of the layer seen in the right hand picture which is a High School of the Damned Haunted bruising layer! That's all the dead girl needs, lots of layers hehe... Save the Living Dead Girl Queen!!! Dammit it's cold outside this morning... I'm not really complaining as I much prefer being wrapped up warm outside in the cold in the Winter than being too hot and not able to do anything about it in Summer, but dammit it got cold fast! It's not actually snowed where I am yet, though other parts of Holland have had some, and Lil's is one of those places! Her SL place, but still... The snow has settled in her home space in SL, and she was kind enough to let me play in it!!!
This time last week I was super excited... Fast forward a week later and I'm in love with Viking Cellists, so please Santa if you're reading this I have been a VERY good girl this year - or at least I will be from now on until your big day - can I pleaseeeeeeee have a Viking Cellist under the Christmas tree this year??! LOL - I know, I'm crazy but it can't hurt to try right?! LOL... OK let me elaborate on my crazy ramblings. I went to see a band called Apocalyptica - they are a metal band that plays cellos, sounds weird but trust me it's damn good! - and not only is the music beautiful but the band themselves, well let's just say they aren't too shabby either - just in case Hell is reading LOL! One of their songs is called Bittersweet - it was originally recorded using the vocals of Ville Valo of HIM - but the classical version brings me out in goosebumps, it's ghostly... Whilst I was out shopping this week, you will never guess what I found... YES! A CELLO POSE!
It's almost like the creator of Come Soon Poses knew exactly what I wanted LOL... This Melody Pose was created by Come Soon for the latest round of Suicide Dollz, and as soon as I saw it I knew that I would be be doing something in homage to the Viking Cellists this week! The full scene is awesome for the low price that you pay for these pose sets, but I will admit that I added a few things. The Skull and the vase of flowers, complete with their spidery inhabitants, was an addition that I made thanks to the GizzA Gacha at the latest round of Lost & Found... OH and then there was the ghosts that snuck in and started dancing around as I played along with Apocalyptica's Bittersweet Song - these Ghosts are available from Nantra, just a little F.Y.I there! I wanted to make my body look equally as sad as the scene surrounding me, the result can be seen in a close-up below but I think the resulting close-up photo will be my new profile photo too LOL... I love this picture quite a lot LOL...
Can you see why? Her sad eyes almost seem real! This has to be one of my favourite pictures I've taken of Rudh in a LONG time! It's a lot of layers of make-up, and I am so glad that we can use 5 different layers - especially now that I'm wearing a mesh body and therefore can use all my tattoo layers on my face hehe... I've used a lot of tattoos from antielle to build up this look... The HSotD Mystery Salt & Ice Wound created the base, then I added some Smeared Makeup which gave me that mascara tears and ruined lipstick look, before slicing my mouth open just a little with the Kuchisake Onna wound... OH I might have done it just a little too much so I stitched my mouth shut after all that with some Ama Deadly Silence Stitches! Dressing it only with some simple piercings and a noose from Remarkable Oblivion... My sons reaction was "What have you done to yourself?" Does it make me look a little too twisted perhaps?! LOL... To finish, seeing as this post is about them, I will share with you a video of the Viking Cellists that I want for Christmas! This is one of my favourite pieces by them...
