Are the Finger Sandwiches Right?!

The Engine Room opened yesterday and that has meant that once again, Second Life is full of the weird and wonderful folk... Great, it's just before Halloween and we all need a little more madness and chaos, of the good kind, in our lives right?! 
I'm honestly at the point of being welcome to all that comes to get me, and bring them on I say... I've also been reading some rather interesting monster smut recently, so little old me is going to get into her best and see what a tea invitation will offer to those monsters out there... 

I was feeling a little Pride and Prejudice - in this gorgeous dress and hat set from toksik at this round of Engine Room, available until October 20th - but since I have monster smut on my mind, I was hoping that getting all dolled up, and welcoming some of the Engine Room's monsters for a spot of tea there might be a little fun chaos to be had... I've even made sure that the Sossego Veranda - a backdrop from FOXCITY, that has been released for this month's Collabor88 - is in shade, as the evening takes the daylight AND that there is a pot of Curious "tea" as well as the regular kind... I just wonder if I put out the right kind of finger sandwiches?!

Meeting the Residents

I've had a particularly difficult day, I feel like sometimes customers are lovely and others they treat you like you're way below them and you aren't very important at all... If I could get away with it, I'd want to say "Excuse me, if you don't talk to me like I'm a normal human being then I'm done feeding you cheese"... Please remember that people working in retail, are people too... 
I came home from work today and had to stop off to get myself something for dinner... I had convinced myself I wanted something healthy... That turned into a pack of cheesy bullcrap... 

That didn't happen, Hell wanted a take-away and a curry was what he had in mind... Not that I was complaining, although Rudh had picked up healthy things in her Groceries bag, and even stopped to pet the neighbours dogs as she waited by the elevators...

Just a small glass...

I'm home after an icky few days of having to work in a shop designed for tourists in a city where there are no tourists... I have been struggling so hard to keep myself awake and away from becoming depressed... Getting home, I had some delicious dinner, and I felt like a glass of wine was necessary evil... 

I went to the wine cellar and decided to help myself to a glass of wine... A LARGE glass of wine... I had one poured and waiting on the bar for me, but then I spotted the bigger of the glasses - that was the one for me - a large wine glass from ChicChica... It takes a LOT of bottles to fill this glass... Wonder if I'll still be able to stand up when I drank it all?!

Needing A Cool Drink

It's been one of those days when I feel totally blah and somewhat dead on the inside.. Most of the time the Living Dead Doll that I am normally loves feeling dead but today I'm not sure I'm able to deal with that... I just wanted to get home and relax, but there I could chillax with a nice cold drink! 

Now, we know that as a Living Dead Doll, Rudh does things a little differently... Wandering around the halls of the Westwing Castle - a skybox from MINIMAL - in the Bizenghasp, Rudh sipped at her fresh cup of Virgin's Blood - from the juice bar at TRIGGERED.

Her Little Poison Bottle

I wanna kiss you but your lips are venomous poison... Wasn't that what Alice Cooper once said... I got news for Alice, it wasn't just the lips, it was the drink that I'd poured him to drink... I laced that juice with some very venomous poison, that I keep in a pretty little bottle for the most special occasions... 
If I die before you, remember my special little bottle can be found stashed away in the Hall of Faces... You can't miss it, it's a glowing good time hehe... 

I guess though the reason I decided that it was time to take a picture like this is because I had a bit of a craving to do a close up. I mean sure, you want to see the kinda of Lime flavoured poison that our little demon is feeding you, but it's more that you need to take a good hard look into her eyes...
Look really closely, tell me what you see... Look her in the eyes... The blind side lures you in, while the dark side reveals your fate... I'm in Chains...

I always tend to try to make each and every one of my little pictures like a mini artwork look into my crazy, fantasy, fun filled mind...
Yet this morning I had an attack of the "UGH I'm not good enoughs" when I saw numbers on Flickr for recent postings I'd made. I am trying so hard to stay close to the thoughts of, I LOVE what I do, and don't care if others do or not. I know that there are people who like what I create and they are the people that count... Yet there's always these niggling doubts in my mind, that say I'm not good enough... I'm not getting the same numbers of likes that others get, I feel like I shouldn't apply or will lose the designers that I am working for because I'm not getting 200+ likes on a picture... It's a vicious cycle in my mind... I fee like I'm trapped, caught in chains and have no way to get out other than to stop... 

Don't worry, I don't plan on stopping but after sharing my thoughts on Facebook, it really feels better... Like I'm not the only one feeling this way, and that there are others out there who hate the Flickr likes popularity contest too... 
I do find myself wondering though if something simple will be more greatly appreciated than some of the crazy fantasy looks that I create at times. I know those aren't really for everyone. So today I toned it down, locked Rudh in a room full of chains - a gorgeous backdrop from Synnergy called Chained by the way - and dressed up all pretty to see if it was more popular amongst Flickr viewers!

The God of Time's Assistant

The snow has taken over the Netherlands... Everything is white, and the snow is blizzarding through the air like fairy dust in the wind. I guess you could say that it was somewhat an inspiration for the Fairy that danced into center stage in my mind today... 
The Winter Fairy of Death decided to make herself at home in the wintery forest that is my imagination. The Winter swirling it's glittering snowflakes on it's blustery breezes... 

This little fairy goddess is an omen of change, although looks may be deceiving she is not the dark portent that she might seem. 
It is true that she may carry a scythe - thanks to FIKA at Midnight Order - and not just any Scythe, it happens to be the Scythe of Kronos and anything that belonged to the Father of Zeus and the God of time shows that she means business... The Dark Magic from Koroko bubbling in her hand, creating the glittering snowflakes that dance into the blizzard of The Outer Garden. 
The fairy we spotted today is an assistant to the God Kronos, assisting his passing of time allowing the seasons to change in their own slow and steady way. Helping Winter to change to Spring this time she seems too captivated by the snowflakes, but maybe soon she wil let the new replace the old and dead...

Moths in the Attic

Just when I feel like it's time to come out of the shadows and get back to some semblance of normal, things shift and everything rolls back to square one... After the craziness that has been going on in the Netherlands with regards to the riots, and the loss of a dear SL friend this week, I just cannot bring myself to wander too far into the light... 
I'm like a moth, wanting desperately to enter into the light, not brave enough to dare to get too close... 

In the attic of the Varonis Verendus, the dark little moth girl hides in the shadows, watching the the world pass by out of the window as the moonlight catches just a glimpse of her... 
She's mystical, she's magic, and the glitter is drawing the gentle moth friends around the dusty old attic... If it's not the magic sparkles, maybe it's the magic within the Caithe pendant - a gorgeous necklace from random.Matter - around her neck...

Looking through the Window

Sometimes I wonder about people and their amazing abilities to only consider their own thoughts, feelings and needs... I will admit that I am not cutting myself out of this, as I know that sometimes I put myself first. It's something that I am actually trying to do a little more of for my own personal sanity. Yet there seem to be others that take it to extremes and seem to have no guilt about doing so squashing the feelings of others as they ride through the storm... 
Maybe its the stormy feeling inside, or the rain in the place I went exploring today, but I hope I'm not sounding too gloomy.... 

I was wandering around The Apartments hiding from the rain, I found some of the gorgeous patches of sunlight that the rain couldn't touch and took in the view...

The Goddess of Starlight

I've been in the darkness so long, but the goddesses in me are actually busting to have some more time in the limelight. The darkness is only willing to allow the light in, within the smallest of doses right now and so only the Goddess of the stars was able to make a break through. She brings with the smallest of twinkles, as she nurtures a star whose light is beginning to dim...

The goddess of the stars resembling something that looks almost fae like in appearance, she gathers a magic from the sparkling lights that seem to hover around her small frame. Gathering the light from La Luna Aura - a collection made up by The Horror for Anthem - the starlight sparkles gathering around her, drawn to her aura... Undercover Poison Cocktails are to Die for!

I'm so loving being in touch, and letting out, my dark side at the moment, it's definitely helping me to make happy pictures that bring a smile to my face. It's definitely the me that I feel most comfortable in, and I often do things that are a little kookie, weird and all-round weird... I love it that way, it makes me smile and that's the entire reason I play this way!
Today I decided to get all dolled up for a night on the town, in a monstrous way... 

Frankenstein and his wife never did fully understand why they were considered monsters, they were just trying to live their best possible lives, and it was the pesky humans that got in their way! 
Still it was Friday Night and she wanted to hit the town, heading to The Devil's Lettuce for a little bit of something green... Not only do they have the best bud, they definitely make the best of everything green, the Undercover Poison cocktails are to die for! Any human that tries them usually does, anyway!
