A Rest before the Salvage Station!

June 1st today, and there are lots of things going on in our little corner of the world that Second Life looks like a really fun and wonderful place to be... Pride at Home and the fun events surrounding Pride started today, leading in the events for the month... One of those events is totally different from the rainbows and sparkles of Pride, is the opening of Salvage Station... 
It's Electrifying... 

The Atomotel - a building kit from LORE for Second Life Syndicate's Salvage Station, opening today until June 30th - is like a neon mirage in the middle of the Grand Canyon desert... This perfect, little neon hotel is run by a little miss Frankie, who will welcome you to her hotel as you make your trip to the Salvage Station, so long as there is no funny business and she doesn't have to introduce you to her Stun Nail Bat - from Arts&Gear, also at Salvage Station - which will be more of a shock when she hits you with it than any normal bat...

Time for a Rest

Day off today and I know that tomorrow and Saturday are likely to be madhouse situations... I am NOT looking forward to working at the shop when it's going to be crazy busy but it is Easter and therefore should be busy enough that the day will go faster, I mean I hope at least... Today though I decided to take a few hours to just let myself rest up and relax in preparation... 

I took the long way through the gardens but eventually made it to the inner sanctum, or the halls of Rosethorn Manor - which happens to be a backdrop from FOXCITY that is just totally and utterly GORGEOUS - which happens to be a quiet place within the cavernous, mysticism of the Engine Room and decided to sit for a moment... Boots were kicked off, prosthetic legs - which are an AsteroidBox release for Second Life Syndicate's Engine Room until April 20th -  were rested on the arm of a Captain's Lounge Chair - a set of furniture created by LORE for Engine Room by the way - and as I listened to the soft classical music being played by the radio - the "Aetherys Lux" Radio from Duplexity for Engine Room - I felt myself falling asleep...

The Anti-Valentine

Valentine's is getting nearer, you can hear it sneaking up on us a little like the Jaws theme is playing on repeat in the background, and honestly as much as I'm trying to enjoy the festivities in SL, I'm distracted and acting a LOT more like a grumpy Anti-Valentine... There is still a little magic to be had for the Anti-Valentine though, and since the Midnight Order is a perfect place for people to seeking something dark and deadly, and the Anti-Valentine is more than willing to help... 

So within the Damirin Halls - which are actually a backdrop by The Bearded Guy - in the Midnight Order's hallowed halls, there are lots of remnants of the Blood Magic of the old Magic Clans... 
The Anti-Valentine is a little Devilish with her red, bloody skin, and wilted roses litter her blood stained wings. She's a Curse Cupid - which is a Faunus release for The Cupid's Curse, available until March 4th - and a little bit of a Demonia - which is a gorgeous new head release from BeSpoke, available until March 6th at Collabor88 - but she's a royalty in the world of dark magic and the dark little counterpart to that horrible baby cupid...

Frost & Snow Elemental

I am once again trying to find a little magic, I NEED some more after the boring day I had at work today. I got home and went in search of the sparkle that would make this season perfect... 
It's rather warm for this time of year at the moment, it's supposed to be Christmas soon, how can it be warm. I bet the big festive day will be warm and wet... Lets see if we can find a little of that frost and snow sparkle... 

On my search, I managed to find just the fae that I was looking for... She's a Snow Elemental - thanks to a set from Faunus - that can be found hiding in the Frostlace Ballroom - a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - creating some magic and a few soft snowflake sparkles... I don't want it to snow, I'm not a fan of the snow but I wish I could let the weather get cooler and feel more festive... Just enough so the leaves get a little frosted...

Atomic Estates Salvage Station

I'm hiding away in my brain, nothing real is allowed and I WANT so bad to get lost in a fantasy right now... My mother is sick in the hospital, and although as yet it's nothing too bad, right now she's yellow...We are trying to make light of it, joking that she was a Simpson for Halloween but it's nerve-wracking... My brain has even been making up scenarios like she's living in the post-apocalypse and had to take a bath in special water which makes the skink go yellow... I guess it's all the fault of the fact that I've stopped at the Salvage Station...

The Salvage Station I'm visiting today happens to be located in the Barassi Desert - which happens to be a backdrop from The Bearded Guy - I've been told to take precautions from the air at the Atomic Estates - items from LORE, available until November 30th at Salvage Station - any time you leave the accomdations...

Time for a little Dark Magic!

I need a little magic after the events of yesterday, and I'm really sorry but I really hope that the driver of the truck who decided to drive fast through a puddle and therefore soaked me for my whole day at work got caught in traffic with a case of explosive butt pee... There is very little chance that the magic I am channelling will be for good... It's like to be some kind of twisted, dark necromancer magic...  

Luckily in Second Life we are still experincing the magical effects of the Midnight Order. This event will be reaching it's halfway peak over the next few days and there will be plenty more chaos to make those that want the dark magic, able to find it...

The Perfect Place for a Rope Bunny

I often feel like I'm tied up at work, unable to do anything that's not totally chaotic since I work with people and I'm held in a rope bind that I cannot get out of... Today was a prime example of that, we try to help our customers but sometimes the customer is most definitely not always right... 
ANYWAY, on the subject of being tied up, I am not really a shibari kinda girl, but the books I have been reading ately MAY be changing my mind on that... If you haven't read any of the Salacious Players Club novels by Sara Cate and you like the SMUT genre then my god you need to, and if you have read them you know the one I mean when I'm talking about Shibari... ANYWAY, I've decided to let myself get tied in knots, maybe it will release a little of the tension in me... 

The Neon Church is a gothic styled nightclub - actually a skybox from LORE - that is not only popular for the music, but also for the extra activities that they have in the back rooms. Fun for those kinkily inclined, and lessons in the kinks that are new to you... Lessons in things like how to tie Rope Off - a pose set with rope props from piXit - and how to be the best kind of Rope Bunny that a girl can be... Twenty Thousand Leagues

What happens on a day like today when my mind is allowed to wander but I can't seem to find myself creating another weird and wonderful fae creation... I got a major case of being stuck today... I was in a rut, couldn't think what I wanted to do and for the life of me things were going no where... I WAS CONFUSED... Then I had a momentary brain fart, remembered that I'm in the blogger team for the epic, somewhat steampunkish themed Engine Room and TADAAAAAA my mind went into overdrive... 
Dreams of travelling with and working alongside some of the most interesting fantasy names in literary history, I didn't think it would ever happen... I loved studying his achievements, but when I was offered a trip Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, to the office of one Captain Nemo... I jumped at the chance... 

It's a brilliant sci-fi novel by the great Jules Verne, and is a great adventure that takes place on board the Nautilus Submarine of Captain Nemo. They discover all kinds of crazy things and even though it's a bit science fiction for my normal tastes, it's a story that should never be missed. 
So now that I'm able to check around Nemo's Study - which happens to be a backdrop from LORE for the Engine Room - there is so much to see... He's using a Mind's Analizer to read his rat's mind, he's got some weird Neoflora - from Blue Blood - mechanical flower things growing in an old Mermaid Tank - from Dirty Rat - and everything seems to be electrified... 
I'd had to make sure I fit into his weird little steampunk world... Luckily, I'd had the chance to shop at the Engine Room before I made my way under the sea...

Cave of Creeps and Crawly Things

I'm in a lot of pain after a trip to the docs today but luckily I had something a little creepy to make a girl's skin crawl... I needed some kind of distraction, and I think the creepiness of the bugs may just be the kind of place to do it... 

Some people are terrified of bugs, others love them. I'm not one of those that hates them but certain bugs give me the willies... WHY is that though? I've never really understood why people love things like butterflies and ladybirds but other bugs make them squirm and shiver...

Early Halloween Lunchings

Weekends are normally busy affairs, and I tend to find myself working either Saturday or Sunday. This weekend though because I have been off sick and because there is a local marathon taking place I cant leave my house, so I'm happy at home and planning on making a happy weekend of it for myself...
I'm going to take a few pictures, read some more of the extremely dark smut that I just started and make sure I get something delicious to eat... 

I decided to take the time to test out some interestingly seasonal food recipes... Since we are nearing the Halloween season, and there are so many delicious ideas starting something simple... Spooky Grilled Cheese and a mug of Tomato soup - from Junk Food - is an easy yet delicious way to start off... I might even have a side dish of some pickled eyeballs. I've been pickling them in a refurbished gumball machine, turning it into a Spooky Eyeball Machine - a creation from MadPea at the current round of Equal10 until October 5th - for ease of serving... I've also been told that to make the witches brews of Halloween taste better, it's a good idea to make sure I'm used to the poisons and other ingredients before the big day comes... I've heard adding them to tomato soup can hide the taste...

The Engine Room, A Quiet Place To Read!!

Today is Good Friday, and its caused me some definite Eye-rolling moments involving customers being Karens with children that ran wild and ate EVERYTHING that was put out to taste... It drove me NUTS... I needed a chance to get away and once again I drifted off into my mind's fantasy world and headed on an excursion back to the Engine Room. It's peaceful there, I can curl up on a comfy sofa and read the newspaper without being disturbed... 

The Engine Room is lovely and cosy on this cool April Evening, thanks to the gorgeous green tiled stove - from CABALPIER at The Engine Room - filling the room of the Clock Tower - a backdrop from Pitaya - with a warm, snuggly comfort whilst the clicking of the cogs and the dripping within the Mushroom Menagerie - from Ceridwen's Cauldron - creating a lulling sense of ease. 
It was the perfect place to relax, and I even made one of the cutest little friends in the form of the Engine Room's Shiba Inu that brought me the newspaper!
