Midnight Order Militia

It's January 20th, and that means that today OFFICIALLY the Midnight Order is opening it's doors once again and welcoming the magical spark back into our Second Lives... There is so much going on in the world right now, and I think we need a little magic, a little spark that will make things seem a little better... There is so much going on in the world right now, and not just the wider world, my personal world is in chaos... I NEED to find a way to get myself some answers and calm my mind... I NEED someone to give me a little break... 

I am checking mysef into a cosy little place called Death Row for a while... It's not like the real place but it's a hotel that is themed and the bedrooms are supposed to be cozy, comfortable and padded... The people that mill around the corridors are dressed in a Sovereign Uniform Jacket and Hat - from Oracle, available until February 20th at Midnight Order - and gorgeously warm looking Borean Furs - from Static, also available at Midnight Order, and perfect with the Borean Gloves that match - and definitely rather sexy to make the stay seem daunting... They'd make interesting uniforms for a Dominatrix and maybe that's a new career path for me LOL... Anyway, she's ready, she's got her syringe ready and it's timefor her to put me to rest for a while!

KABOOM Loading... The Machine Uprising!

Today has been a day when it felt like the world went BOOM... I know there is SO MUCH going on in the world right now, we're teetering on the edge of some pretty bad times but I am also dealing with things in my RL situation that I've mentioned before but they are getting closer and more daunting day by day... 
Today we discovered the officialy starting date for the work on our home, I'm not looking forward to February 27th... It's D-Day... The day that my own little world will go BOOM... 

I needed to do something a little bonkers to make me feel a little less high-anxiety and thought maybe if the BOOM was able to happen, then I'd be able to relax... BOY, did that happen. I couldn't stop giggling as this picture came together on my screen... 
The outfit I wore as I set the flaming match to the fuse of my Bomb - a Boom Baby Holdable Bomb from piXit - was provided by the Division Union - actually the Division set released by AsteroidBox at Kustom9 - as part of my uniform for the resistance... Apparently the machines are coming to life, raising a little hell and I'm not just talking machines in the military... As I was sending out the Emergency Broadcast I had the shock of my life, there on the balcony of the office building, amongst other robots of varying shapes and sizes, was my Funky Fridge - from Junk Food - and my toaster!!!! It's an Armageddon of robotic proportions...

Exercise or Spring Rolls?

So a few posts ago I was all gun ho, full of excitement in planning things for the year. Working on getting through the year and maybe finding time for myself along the way... HOWEVER, like I said in that post, I am totally unreliable when it comes to getting exercising... I work SUPER hard every day, and know I should make time for exercise but I'm always running around so when I'm free I love to relax and rest... I've come to a new conclusion in life... It's like Krescendo read my mind... 

"My winter fat is gone. Now I have Spring Rolls" I mean I guess that it's half true, it's not gone it has just trasferred to being my Spring Rolls LOL... I know I'm a big girl in RL, I have no shame admitting that I'm not a skinny beam pole but I'm also not the kinda girl to go without jokes about it. I've always said I have more rolls than the supermarket... 
I gave up on working out and decided to find some food... Suddenly I have craving some Chinese Takeout - from Junk Food - I think I might have to get two portions of Spring Rolls...

The Right Shoes For The Job!

It's Friday night, I've just got home from work and for me I'm now in my jammies curled up on the sofa with a cuppa tea and my cat. I've had a long day and now I want nothing more than a chance to relax... I'm nearly 40 but by body is trying to tell me I'm closer to 70 it seems LOL... 
I work in retail, you may know that by now, but I often wonder how I'd feel doing another type of job... Rudh on the other hand has NO such issue... She is and will always be a bit of a hooker LOL... 

She's gotten to work wearing some GORGEOUS but comfortable shoes - the Bobby Shoes from AsteroidBox at the current round of ACCESS - and into something a little more fitting for her work as a dancer in the strip club on this lovely Friday Night. Slipping into the corridor of the dance hall, shaking the glitter off all over the floor and bypassing all of the props that are stashed in the crates just inside the door, the girls are able to grab their shoes and even grab a new pair of panties from the Panti-o-matic...

What Can I Getcha?

I should stop taking the time to work on blog pictures when I am hungry, at least that's what I try and tell myself but I'm not sure how well that will ever work. I tend to start working on something bloggish before I've even had my breakfast in the morning and then I get distracted, PLUS I love collecting food in SL. I guess it's one of my guilty pleasure collections, and I own up to my collecting addiction... If I ever get bored in SL, maybe I should open a diner... 

You'd be welcomed in with a smile and a "Welcome to Rudhie's Retro Yums Diner"... The menu would be filled with some super delicious delights. I am partial to a burger, whether that is a Chicken Burger - like the one from Junk Food which is central in the picture - or a Hamburger - on the right from Lucas Lameth, the 1950s Diner Burger - or even perhaps a hugely stacked Club Sandwich - also from Lucas Lameth - with a side of fries or chips, crisps if you are like me and a little bit British... I'd serve cold sodas and thick shakes, hot coffee and fancy teas in tea pots... I might even serve cake, it's have to be cake because I'm a cake rather than pie kinda girl...

Trouble Under The Sea!

When I get a random idea for a blog post they tend to be the ones that make me smile the most. I will always admit that half the time when I start a picture I have NO idea where it will go or what the outcome will be but I have to say that these are the pictures that make me happiest. The entire reason that I blog is a chance to forget the world around me and find a little happiness, so the ones that make me laugh most are the best for me... 

Today was one of those days, and so while I was putting my ideas together I decided to go for a little swim and see where the ideas went... 
I was wearing a bathing suit - which is actually an amazing outfit from Psycho Barbie called Narkissa that ISN'T a bathing suit but looked perfect as a wetsuit, and I'm sorry to the Psycho Barbie team for misuse of their clothing lol - and splashing around in the water. I took a deeper dive down into the water and that was when the trouble went from barely there to TERRIBLE. I guess it may well be my own fault though as I have to stop myself reading so much of that monster smut LOL...

Bang Bang!

I wonder sometimes when I watch movies, especially the action kind, would I prefer to be on the side of the hero or the villain. When I was a little girl - and I'll not hide that it is still true now I'm a big girl too - I was always on the side of the hero, especially in the case of the Disney films that I chose. For example, I LOVE the Little Mermaid, and when I was a kid I wanted to be Ariel, now that I'm an old lady I feel more aligned with Ursula... So perhaps when I grew up I was destined to feel more like I'm hiding a villain deep inside, although plenty of people will tell you I'm a good girl... 

So I don't know about you but when I start working on a blog post I NEVER know where I'm going to bewhen I finish it. Ideas never seem to come easy and when they do form it's like magic... I'm not as creative as some people, and I'm not as able to creative such high quantities of blog posts as I'd like but to think that what I do makes others smile as much as they do me...
Today's post randomly came to me when I was thinking about things to do with Villains... I pulled on a look and for some reason I ended up with a weird Gotham style feeling... Maybe I'll make a Batman adversary, maybe I'll be able to be in league with the Joker...

Asking for my Fortune

At the start of every year, people always seem to be asking me whether or not I've made any new years resolutions. Some years I try to, and others I tend not, but then this year I HAVE made one and it's a very loosely set one. It could be interpreted in lots of different ways, and I'm quite happy to keep it open and flexible... I'm going to put more faith in the fortune telling machines than any resolutions though...

A Little Spiritual Magic

I still feel the need for a little magic and since the Angel sacrifice helped to stop the snow and melt away what snow there was, I heard things about weather warnings and so I NEED MORE Magical interferrance so that the snow stays away and that I can get to and from work safely for the next few days... 
I'm going to reach out to some of the other spirits and see if I can get a little more help... 

The Spirit that I have found today happens to be a Soul Spirit and they have a lot more influence on the world around them than you might think... The Mask Soul worn on her face - is a mask from BeSpoke - hides the way she's really feeling but her magic is all-encompassing. She can work her magic to help everything from luck, love and in my case, even the weather...

Angellic Sacrifice

So today I had to have the day off for a Snow Day, the busses couldn't run and tomorrow I'll be home again which is giving me a chance to feel a little more rested and lot less nervous. Though I will say that the thought of going out in the snow instantly causes my anxiety to appear and I start feeling a little sick on the inside... Friday I have to go to work, Friday is a whole day away, while I have the day at home, I am going to spend the day hoping beyond all hope that the snow clears up so that it's NOT slippery on Friday... 

I don't know if the weather spirits will be able to help but I think that maybe I'll have to find a way to ask those in a higher power... No matter which of the dark gods is there and willing to help, I'll take any help... I'll leave them any kind of gift that they want, I'll sacrifice the Angels so that I can make it into work safely without slipping on Friday and Saturday... I can't not go to work again, I'm letting other people down and I HATE that, and on top of the feelings I am already dealing with, the thought of going out where it's slippery is just the knock my anxiety needs... SO, lets summon the dark gods and light the candles, as a Wax Witch - which happens to be the name of the candles worn on Rudh's shoulders from Static, available until January 18th at The Warehouse - has chained an angel into their magical ring and now we wait...

Work Out Treats!

Today I was back to working... I want to say working out but actually it was just work plain and simple... I mean it WAS a nightmare to get to work, and involved a lot of me being overly cautious about getting to work which in itself was a workout, yet working out in truth it was not... AND when I did get to work, I allowed myself to have a happy, little treat... 

I have never been one for working out, I have always been good at doing things to keep myself busy but as for doing exercises I'm useless at it... The only time I'd do any stretches would be to reach out for something delicious to eat. 
Rudh has the right idea, going for a work out in her Home Gym - which happens to be a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - and while she's doing her exercises, she has to practice her balance as she reaches into her Donut Bag - from Junk Food - and grad herself more than one of the sweet, iced treats...

Decorations Don't Go Quietly!

It's that most yucky of days after the Christmas festivities in my house today... I'm not sure if it's today or tomorrow that it's traditional to take down Christmas decorations but in our house, we took the decor down today. I was not looking forward to it, but it has been done, everything is ready to be stashed away again and things look dark and empty... 

It makes me laugh how we use the same things over and over and over again, I'm not one of those people that wants a pristine or chic looking Christmas tree, I LOVE it when things are colourful and mismatched and traditions that remain the same every year... I know, especially in times like this, I want things to be cozy and comforting... I dislike this darkness that has decended in my living room today... It's only going to get emptier as we prepare the house for our moving date... 
While stuffing things in to the old chests in the Attic, I made a little discovery... One of the Gingerbread men that had appeared in many of my posts over the festive period was REALLY not ready to return to his Spring/Summer/Autumn sleep, he got angry and tried to Choke Me Out - he's a festive release from Tardfish that I HOPE will still be available in the mainstore but let me know if I'm wrong please! - and well since he wanted to stay awake I'll just have to take his place for a long nap in a cosy old trunk...

A Moment To Pause...

Home after a very short trip to see my parents in the UK over New Years... Every time I come back it always feels like it was never long enough and I feel totally and utterly empty at the moment. I miss my family and the homesickness never seems to get any easier, but I guess on that note I should warn you... This is my first pensive post of the year, it won't be all fun and games as I have a lot of rambling thoughts to share. If you're not wanting to read all that, I understand, but enjoy the picture and the credits at the bottom of my ramble... Otherwise read on... 

I'm home again, back in my little house on Gingerbread Lane - in this case a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - and while Hell is unloading the car, I'm going to take a moment to sit and talk with you over a nice cup of coffee from my cozy Thermos Flask - from andika, available until January 27th at Anthem - and I don't know why but being the snow feels peaceful right now... 
As I've been hinting lately, there will be a LOT of things happening this year and my mind is totally distracted and crazed and not in a very happy place right now... If you asked me about any resolutions for this year, I'd tell you that I simply want to get through the year with everything going smoothly, everyone around me being happy, and all the troubles passing by in the blink of a eye... 
HellBone and I have a MASSIVE undertaking starting in February. Per Dutch Law, our house is in need of some major rennovations. We have to move out for 6 months, and although we're lucky in that the cheese company I work for is able to provide me temporary accomodations for that time, I'm MOVING and we have to clear out the ENTIRE GROUND FLOOR of our house... There is SO MUCH to do and I'm stressing about that... Packing, organising, tidying, cleaning, travelling back and forward to our new location to get things sorted, I need a break already and we haven't even started... 
On another note, there is illness in my family and it makes me worry even more... My grandmother is 93 and suffering with demensia, she also cannot get herself out of bed anymore without the help of a nurse. My grandfather is trying but it's a stress on him, yet he's too stubborn to let anyone else help, and it's causing fights with others in the family. Then there is my Mum... In October, my mum was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. It's not going to be viable to surgically remove the cancer, so she is going to be undergoing intensive chemo for the next few months. At the moment it's all a case of wait and see what is happening and how things will go, I'm remaining strong for her but behind closed doors I'm broken and crying and STILL trying to focus on the move just to stop myself jumping back on a plane to see my mummy again... 
I'm not in a good place, this year has just started and I'm going to need all the luck I can get. Please bear with me if I start getting upset or my blogging is erratic... If you need support or love or someone to listen, I'll always be here, just remember I care even if I'm not doing well. Keep everything crossed for my mum, for my grandma and for my sanity... I already can't wait for 2026 to be done... OH AND on top of all that, this year I TURN 40!!! Bring it on 2026...

It's 2026! Happy New Year!!

Well it's 2026... The old year has passed and the new year has officially started... In the UK it seemed like a pretty sober affair, apparently it was quieter than it has been in previous years around where my parents live but then when we spoke to people in the NL it was like being in a war zone... There have been reports of fires and issues with fireworks, but that's normal for us in the NL... 
ANYWAY, I'm rambling. When I am home again at the weekend, I will be a little more thoughtful, honest and rambling with things that are comin for the new year but for now... Let's enjoy the festive feeling a little longer?!

SO HAPPY NEW YEAR... 
I hope that your passing from 2025 to the new year of 2026 was a happy and uneventful... I hope that you were in a place that made you feel happy and hopeful and that it sparkled. I mean if that's the change you were going for anyway, I LOVED that it was peaceful, I'd have been happy to spend the new year change with my eyes closed. 
There are so many things coming in the next few months that I NEED the downtime to allow myself to get stronger for what will come... ANYWAY, I will see you again properly on Sunday, for NOW enjoy the last few days of a peaceful weekend and don't miss my ramblings too much...
