I feel like it's been a very long few weeks and I'm still working far more than I think I can handle, but the count down has begun for me to be able to take some time off and head to visit my family in the UK... Just 14 weeks to go LOL... Until then I'm going to focus on blogging and taking pictures, it's the only really relaxing thing to do... Of course, I couldn't find any red spray paint so it had to be pink... it's close enough, I mean it's light red LOL... Today is Christmas Eve's Eve - LOL it was always a thing between my sister and I when we were little - and I've been really busy working my little butt off. My Christmas Cookies are BURNT!!! I must not cry, I must not cry, it's nearly Christmas!!! I think I mentioned this in a previous post, but there is a new round of Enchantment open, and IT'S BEAUTY AND THE BEAST THEMED!!!! I've probably mentioned this before too but Beauty and the Beast is my favourite Disney Movie. It's probably the first one that I remember being taken to see at the movies by my parents when I was little... So this round of Enchantment makes me a very happy Rudh!! Now I know that a lot of bloggers are focusing on the beauty aspect... I've seen Belle cropping up all over the place, but there is another special romantic person in this story that learns what it is to love, and he seems to be very much forgotten... That is until I remembered this awesome outfit based on the Disney Version of him... I'm talking of course about the Beast...

One Genre of style that you will rarely see me getting into is anything that could be classed as Sci-Fi or Space. For the longest time I've had a bit of a phobia of aliens, and even though HellBone forced me to watch Star Wars and is the biggest Star Wars fan on the planet, I'm still very uncomfortable around the genre. Though now that Indie Teepee has opened for 2017, and there is an area that is perfectly dedicated to the futuristic with some awesome things to buy and shows to see, AND if that wasn't enough to shove me in the direction of something futuristic and Sci-Fi, WHOLE WHEAT have an awesome new pose location set up... I'm one of those people that creates lots of different looks and photographs them so that I have all kinds of different things ready to ramble on about depending on my mood. Today though is one of those days when I'm looking at all the pictures, thinking to myself "what the hell do I wanna blog today?" I KNOW I wanna do something, but I have no idea what, so you're getting a random look of the day out of me today and I hope that you like it LOL... I know I love what I've chosen, maybe you will too?! It's something a little bit dark, a little bit macabre but also in a weird twisted way, it's kinda cute too... It's also making me sing songs from Disney's Alice in Wonderland - the original - about Painting Roses Red LOL...
The look was one that started because of a dress. A dress by a designer that was taking a bit of an SL design break, but couldn't resist dipping her top in the water again for The Dark Style Fair - which runs until May 22nd by the way. I cannot say that I blame her, I mean I get itchy when I don't blog, so no wonder she came out of design hiatus to create a little something that scratches that itch! OK, enough rambling, the dress in question is one by adoness called Mortalia. It comes in a range of different colours - on black but the colour variation in in the Roses just so you know - and it features an adorable skeleton and rose design, which as you may have guessed is where the rose thing came in LOL... Then I simply had to accessories with more roses, including the awesome "All I see" Eye Accessory from Ama, which you can also get your hands on at The Dark Style Fair, and some pretty roses that accessories this La Bella Donna Hair from Clawtooth. It was at that point that I decided I needed to hunt for a background... I found the perfect place. It's a little wedding chapel tucked away down a back alley at WHOLE WHEAT and it's FULL of roses!!! It was a match made in heaven for my outfit LOL... One last thing before I leave... Am I mean enough to share the Alice in Wonderland song that's been stuck in my head since I made this picture?? YES, Yes I am!!!
Last New Years, HellBone and I rented a little cottage in the woods to try and take our doggie away from the crazy fireworks that people in our town like to set off for the 5 days surrounding the festive celebrations... It was great, if you don't factor in the fact that I almost killed my mother-in-law... This year we've decided to do the same again, deeper into the Dutch forest and this year I plan on taking some heavy duty rope so that if my mother-in-law pulls the same crap again she will be tied to a tree and conveniently "forgotten" on the day we come home lol... I'm talking about this for two reasons, one I just paid the deposit and two I am REALLY in need of a bit of a break. I want to go back to England to just switch off my head but right now that isn't happening so a girl has to just dream right?!
Luckily in Second Life I can actually reach my holiday goals without having to spend any money and arrange any time off... I just click the Teleport button and land there... One of the prettiest places to holiday is Netherwood - a location based on the Yorkshire Dales of England. While I was there on this trip I wore such a cute hippy style outfit and laced flowers into my hair, it felt almost as if I was actually having some free time. The hair - complete with it's flower decoration - is one that has been released by Adoness for the latest round of Genre, that ends tomorrow. It seemed to look rather cute with the latest outfit released from Petite Mort at The Crossroads. The release includes three awesome mix-and-match pieces, including this awesome Gypsy Witch Tank, adorable Gypsy Bag and the Buttonfly Denim Shorts which will no doubt become a staple item in my SL wardrobe! I am by my own admission a RL larger lady - I joke about myself, telling people that I have more rolls than the local supermarket - and I am not afraid to admit that. I know that I will never be super skinny, and I count myself as lucky that I can just laugh at it, feeling comfortable in my own skin. Yet recently I've decided that I want to start doing more to help myself... I'm definitely not going to diet but I am going to make some lifestyle changes. Exercise being one of those things! I don't know about you but I find myself sitting behind a PC a lot... I work on a PC, and then in the evenings I sit behind a PC logged in to SL. I bought a genius piece of exercise equipment the other day in RL, it's an under the desk bicycle... I can sit on the PC for hours and just peddle, so far it's GREAT! So Rudh has decided it's time to get less weedy and beef up a little too... She needs to be able to fight her own battles, not hide behind her boys LOL... Inspired by a photo she took of herself and Mongo, when left alone Rudh decided to give the weight bench a shot...
The weight bench is part of a posing prop from the awesome Come Soon Poses. I've said it before and I will say it again, I have a few pose designers that I LOVE and these guys are on that list. Unlike other pose stores, Come Soon created their poses complete with scenes, which makes them SO EASY to use... You never need to find a set, there is always a set RIGHT THERE!! This one is the Sexy Fitness 02 Pose - available at the main store - and OK admission time, it's a couple pose, but I thought it would be funnier to watch Rudh struggle than to ask someone for help... Am I cruel?? LOL... The Hula Hoop - made by yours truly - the Skipping Rope - made by Lar's Workshop - and the Ball - made by Lewd - do not come with the prop, just in case you're wondering, but are some of Rudh's additions for working out with, and even though she's working out, she's dressed all cute in her Gothic Sports dress from adoness... Having to look good at all times must be hard work LOL... As a side note, and just to finish up here, I have decided to add the Ad Poster for the pose from Come Soon, so you can see how it would look with the couple pose as it should be... The last few days, on top of already working insanely hard and generally wearing myself out, haven't been easy... When your PC has issues it's like cutting off a lifeline, at least it is in my case, it left me feeling bereft and mopy until we were able to somehow magic it so it seemed more fixed than it had been before! Therefore I haven't been in the best of moods for the past few days, and when you add to that extra drama... Ugh a girl is about ready to explode!! Luckily, Rudh had been dressed for the part and took a walk like something out of one of the classic novels - a heroine in times of sadness, maybe like Cathy of Wuthering Heights...

The walk at Winter Moon made me feel every bit the classic novel heroine!! It was in fact the dress that made me feel this way, more than the location... When I was at university in the UK, one of my close friends was a woman called Jude. She was a mature student, but one that loved to come out dancing with us and boy she could party hard. I have some very fond memories of times we went out, and a recent shopping event brought one in particular right back into my mind. We went to a gay bar for her Birthday - it was a regular haunt for us when she was coming out - and they had a quiz night hosted by the most flamboyant drag queen I've ever seen in the flesh - because I love watching Ru Paul on TV and no one beats Ru Paul LOL... The reason that I bring this up in a rambling is because fairly recently I was sent a dress from adoness, that was designed for the newest round of Genre and the them of Drag Queens...
Never will you see a round of a shopping event with so much over-the-topness and glitter as this month's round of Genre... The Drag Queen theme has allowed designers to go overboard on both colour and glitteriness and it made me smile! I HAD to dress up in one of the gorgeous outfits - the Glitter Queen Outfits include a dress and hat - from adoness and head out to live like a Queen hehe... Sinners Burlesque club is the perfect place to do that, it's decadent, and glamouous, the perfect place for a Drag Queen to take up residence... After all the pomp and ceremony, all the stress and over-spending, all the frenetics of cooking and gift unwrapping, Christmas has been and gone and today is one of my favourite days of the year... The day I get to sit back, relax and do nothing but enjoy the peace and quiet... Mum always said this was her favourite time in the Christmas holidays, and now I am older I understand why hehe... Staying where it's snowy at the moment, though I wandered away from Lil's and felt brave enough to go mountain climbing in the snow in heels LOL... The kind of stunt that would possibly make me famous in RL - famous for being crazy perhaps?! - but whilst I was wandering around I had a moment that made me feel like I was in another world, and I guess - though it's probably the dress - I felt like a bit of a standed supervillain plotting revenge from a desolate location.... But I ALWAYS feel way too shy to apply for things, and often when I am given the chance to become a part of a blogging team I find myself a little nervous about the looks I pull together and the things I say in my blog journal... So when this new hunt came up, and I was given the opportunity to be a part of the team I knew I would have to create something a little special... Two things happened simultaneously this week that seemed like this post HAD to happen... First of all, I recieved a really cute item from The Horror that cried out to be blogged, but the second coincidence was just too much of a coincidence for me to not to use it as a reason to ramble LOL... My sister Lilian, got a new member of the family this week - an adorable lady kitty came to join her RL family, prompting so many laughs amongst the Gators about Lil having a new pussy that I've had stomach cramps from laughing some days. So to stop the laughing cramps thinking of Lil's new pussy, and to expand the reason for the coincidence a little more, I was sent new kitty things from The Horror, and they are so cute!!
See Lil isn't the only one with a new pussy! I have one too LOL... This one is a Horror special, created just to make any new wizards that will be heading to school in the new year feel more at home. I'm talking about the "Yer a Kitty" Collection that has been created by The Horror! WAY BACK in Rudh history I was part of a family of magical beings - possibly explains a lot about my fancy dress choices that - my sister was a dragon, another a witch but my uncle was Remus - of Hogwarts fame - and his husband was Severus - yes it's a long and twisted story lol - but I was always told that I was a kid that would fit in well at my Uncle Severus's school house... Not that I have any idea how it's his school house, but it was Slytherin I believe... So going away from the ramble, I stuck to the family roots by dying my hair a vibrant shade of green and wearing it in a style that you can grab for yourself from the Adoness store at Hair Fair! First off I want to start this post with a HUGE announcement!!!
Yes that's right, as of this post I can officially say "HOLY CRAP! 1,000 Posts!" That's a massive milestone for me... I never ever felt that I would reach that level when I first started blogging. I always thought it was a fad that would be over quickly, that I'd grow tired of things - I've never been very good at writing a journal - but I found reasons to keep coming back... Challenges had me hooked, and I managed to get myself a few very supportive sponsors as well as some awesome readers, but the best aspect of my blog for me is that it has just become so therapeutic... No matter how bad my day has been I've always found solace in taking a photo and then writing about it here... For a special post, that will always be special as my 1000th post, I am going to take everyone onto a trip into my favourite fantasy land - no not SL lol - Wonderland here we come!!!
I have always loved Alice in Wonderland, in fact her adventures through the looking glass were favourites of mine too, and SL sometimes seems like a wonderland all of it's own... We can be anything we want to be in SL, and there are so many crazy things to see, I'm sure without looking too hard you will be able to have your own adventures just like Alice did... I've turned Rudh into my own weird and twisted version of Alice... The entire reason for this ramble is due to the outfit that was offered in the Alice in Sexyland hunt recently - yes I know it's over but I was on holiday! - from adoness, and painted my face with a pretty eyeshadow from Zibska - which you can get as a prize in The Body Art Hunt... I had to, however, make her less cute and a little more sinister by combining my Alice with an evil Cheshire Cat - doesn't she have a wicked grin! What a way to celebrate my 1000th post, my 1000th ramble and my 1000th reason to say thank you for reading my ramblings, thank you for following me and thank you for all of the lovely comments through my rambling history!!! I hope you will be here with me to see my 2000th post hehe...
