Everyone has their favourite examples of things... If I said what's your favourite Candy, you'd have an answer. If I said what's your favourite book, I'm sure you could name something... But what about if I said what's your favourite bird?! That's a tough one for me, I love Robins but I think more than that I LOVE Flamingoes. I have lots and lots of Flamingo things, both in SL and RL, but for some reason this look of the day kinda screamed YAY as I found this field of artistic flamingoes at Ocho Tango Place...
Now, today is actually my 11th Rez Day in SL... I've been playing around with this Barbie for 11 years in a game that my RL mum referred to as a "phase" - looking back it's been much more than that as I've had 11 years of fun and friendships, met my RL Hubby AND am now calling SL work! So still lets get on with my look of the day today, shall we?! It started out because of this gorgeous Tropical Eyeshadows Pack and Akona Lipsticks Pack were sent to me from PSYCHO.Byts, which are available until August 31st at the Cosmetic Fair. YES I know time is running out, BUT they are still available!! I had an awesome dainty but so pretty necklace from Zombie Suicide that worked perfectly with the colours of this particular eye make-up, and a shirt from DATUM that worked with the oranges too, but it was the hair that was the topper for this outfit - Hair's at the top, get it LOL?! I LOVED this crazy wild hair from NYNE called Omena, and in this colour combination of the firey red and green highlights it really picked out the colours of the necklace!!! So that's it my 11th Rezday Look of the Day lol... Pandora's Box is soon to close... Today is the last chance to get your hands on all of the awesome goodies before it closes, and Dark Japan has been awesome to us this month. I've learnt so much and have some wonderful goodies from the boxes talented designers but there's just time for one more post and a little lesson about somewhere in Japan that I feel fits the box perfectly... It's a place called Aokigahara Forest at the base of Mount Fuji in Japan. There is a beautiful tribute to this sad place in Second Life that was perfect for allowing a little Pandora's Box monster to be free just a little while...
Known as "the perfect place to die" the Aokigahara Forest in Japan is one of the world's most 'popular' - although the word sounds terrible in this case - places to commit suicide. Legend has it that ancient families would sacrifice members of the family by leaving them to die in the forest, deaths would have been long, horrible and drawn out due to starvation, creating the stories of hauntings amongst the trees. Yet this does not deter those in despair, annually around 70 corpses are found by the volunteers that clear the woods, and records of just how many wander in but never come out are no longer published so that there is no popularisation of the location. There is a lot of information about the "Sea of Trees" available, check the wikipedia link to start with and don't miss out exploring Second Life's interesting tribute to this dark location. Pandora's Box has been open for a few days now and the Monsters within are still crawling into the light... There are so many pretty things within this month's brand new alternative lifestyle themed Loot Box, that it's simply chaos as they all try to reach for the light at the same time! This monster made it out without trouble though, she's a demoness, a queen of sorts, and one that seems to be trapped in some kind of agony... Crying draconic tears of pure gold...
Taken in one of the dark cave sets at WHOLE WHEAT, this is a photo of that rarely seen draconian demoness... On her head she wears the Yokai Immortality Headdress and horns, to show off her rank as a queen, a thought that is made clearer by the large black diamond that is worn within her PEACHES Myrsella Choker - both of which are available in May's Pandora's Box by the way. It is, though, her golden RobotEyes - from Nightmare at Genre - that are shedding the CURELESS Dragon tears, which make you feel the pain and loneliness that she's feeling... It's a little hard to see, so I was able to catch a close-up, but while you're that close please give her a hug... She needs it!!! Last New Years, HellBone and I rented a little cottage in the woods to try and take our doggie away from the crazy fireworks that people in our town like to set off for the 5 days surrounding the festive celebrations... It was great, if you don't factor in the fact that I almost killed my mother-in-law... This year we've decided to do the same again, deeper into the Dutch forest and this year I plan on taking some heavy duty rope so that if my mother-in-law pulls the same crap again she will be tied to a tree and conveniently "forgotten" on the day we come home lol... I'm talking about this for two reasons, one I just paid the deposit and two I am REALLY in need of a bit of a break. I want to go back to England to just switch off my head but right now that isn't happening so a girl has to just dream right?!
Luckily in Second Life I can actually reach my holiday goals without having to spend any money and arrange any time off... I just click the Teleport button and land there... One of the prettiest places to holiday is Netherwood - a location based on the Yorkshire Dales of England. While I was there on this trip I wore such a cute hippy style outfit and laced flowers into my hair, it felt almost as if I was actually having some free time. The hair - complete with it's flower decoration - is one that has been released by Adoness for the latest round of Genre, that ends tomorrow. It seemed to look rather cute with the latest outfit released from Petite Mort at The Crossroads. The release includes three awesome mix-and-match pieces, including this awesome Gypsy Witch Tank, adorable Gypsy Bag and the Buttonfly Denim Shorts which will no doubt become a staple item in my SL wardrobe! These things all come in multiple colour options and so although I mentioned it before they make mix-and-match looks effortless!!! Though I had a though while I was writing this... I am by my own admission a RL larger lady - I joke about myself, telling people that I have more rolls than the local supermarket - and I am not afraid to admit that. I know that I will never be super skinny, and I count myself as lucky that I can just laugh at it, feeling comfortable in my own skin. Yet recently I've decided that I want to start doing more to help myself... I'm definitely not going to diet but I am going to make some lifestyle changes. Exercise being one of those things! I don't know about you but I find myself sitting behind a PC a lot... I work on a PC, and then in the evenings I sit behind a PC logged in to SL. I bought a genius piece of exercise equipment the other day in RL, it's an under the desk bicycle... I can sit on the PC for hours and just peddle, so far it's GREAT! So Rudh has decided it's time to get less weedy and beef up a little too... She needs to be able to fight her own battles, not hide behind her boys LOL... Inspired by a photo she took of herself and Mongo, when left alone Rudh decided to give the weight bench a shot...
The weight bench is part of a posing prop from the awesome Come Soon Poses. I've said it before and I will say it again, I have a few pose designers that I LOVE and these guys are on that list. Unlike other pose stores, Come Soon created their poses complete with scenes, which makes them SO EASY to use... You never need to find a set, there is always a set RIGHT THERE!! This one is the Sexy Fitness 02 Pose - available at the main store - and OK admission time, it's a couple pose, but I thought it would be funnier to watch Rudh struggle than to ask someone for help... Am I cruel?? LOL... The Hula Hoop - made by yours truly - the Skipping Rope - made by Lar's Workshop - and the Ball - made by Lewd - do not come with the prop, just in case you're wondering, but are some of Rudh's additions for working out with, and even though she's working out, she's dressed all cute in her Gothic Sports dress from adoness... Having to look good at all times must be hard work LOL... As a side note, and just to finish up here, I have decided to add the Ad Poster for the pose from Come Soon, so you can see how it would look with the couple pose as it should be... Hope I don't get into any trouble for deciding to work out alone - maybe next time the store's big buff creator could come and spot me LOL...

The last few days, on top of already working insanely hard and generally wearing myself out, haven't been easy... When your PC has issues it's like cutting off a lifeline, at least it is in my case, it left me feeling bereft and mopy until we were able to somehow magic it so it seemed more fixed than it had been before! Therefore I haven't been in the best of moods for the past few days, and when you add to that extra drama... Ugh a girl is about ready to explode!! Luckily, Rudh had been dressed for the part and took a walk like something out of one of the classic novels - a heroine in times of sadness, maybe like Cathy of Wuthering Heights...
OK so she is a modern-ish Cathy of Wuthering Heights, and I didn't mean that she actually was, it was just to give you the idea LOL... The walk at Winter Moon made me feel every bit the classic novel heroine!! It was in fact the dress that made me feel this way, more than the location... The dress is one from adoness, called Lily Lavinia, that has been created for this round of GENRE, which has a Belle Epoque theme for the month. It felt perfect, when I added her little Jian Shibe, and gave her that air of royalty perhaps?! Ugh, enough with the woe though, things can only get better from the bottom right?! When I was at university in the UK, one of my close friends was a woman called Jude. She was a mature student, but one that loved to come out dancing with us and boy she could party hard. I have some very fond memories of times we went out, and a recent shopping event brought one in particular right back into my mind. We went to a gay bar for her Birthday - it was a regular haunt for us when she was coming out - and they had a quiz night hosted by the most flamboyant drag queen I've ever seen in the flesh - because I love watching Ru Paul on TV and no one beats Ru Paul LOL... The reason that I bring this up in a rambling is because fairly recently I was sent a dress from adoness, that was designed for the newest round of Genre and the them of Drag Queens...
Never will you see a round of a shopping event with so much over-the-topness and glitter as this month's round of Genre... The Drag Queen theme has allowed designers to go overboard on both colour and glitteriness and it made me smile! I HAD to dress up in one of the gorgeous outfits - the Glitter Queen Outfits include a dress and hat - from adoness and head out to live like a Queen hehe... Sinners Burlesque club is the perfect place to do that, it's decadent, and glamouous, the perfect place for a Drag Queen to take up residence... In fact to play us out today I am going to leave you with something fun and silly, a song from Ru Paul - the ultimate Queen - and one of my favourite dance around the house to clean by songs... Well good morning, I'm away far too early today thanks to a whiny dog and a hubby that does a remarkable impression of a stomping elephant around the bedroom at 5am. Though I have to admit, I LOVE this time of the day... Things are always so peaceful and OK aside from those people getting up to go to work, the world seems still... In RL that is, in SL it's always buzzing hehe... Yet I chose this morning for a little pensiveness, a little thoughtful and quiet start to my day. The garden is the secret location that I run away to in times of wanting to hide, it's amazing, and I am so excited that the builder of it let's me into their private little world... Especially at times like this morning when I realise how built up the area I live in is in RL... and it's making me realise I am enjoying being naked in SL at the moment LOL... Have you noticed though, I've started to be seen with Tattoos at the moment?! SHOCK INNIT?! I have to say though I am loving the tattoo sleeves that are coming from Identity at the moment. I love the femininity to them, and the pretty but intricate designs. I'm not quite ready for a full all over tattoo but it's a step in that direction... I just love it!!! I wore just one item though, a gorgeous down the back necklace from deviousMind... I fell in love with this as soon as I saw it at Genre, and waited for just the right moment to show it off... I think this is that moment. It's the sort of thing you can only wear with something backless, but for the low price of 100L who could say no to this gorgeous little bit of bling?! If you know me at all by now you will know that I love to play dress up... In my time in SL, almost 9 years of it would you believe, I've been and done a lot of things... I started as a stripper, I lived life as a vampire, a fairy and countless other magical beings before falling upon the way I am now - a living dead girl - but it's always fun to dress in something that you might not ever normally wear when it comes to taking pictures... This outfit is one of those things! I also decided to go to a place I've never had anything to do with before... The Bloodlines thing was such a craze at one time that everyone and their aunty was a vampire - it's why the gradual change into a living dead girl happened with me lol I wanted to be something different! However, I made a look and thought "hmmm where might a thirsty vampire go for an easy meal?" LOL...
I know NOTHING about bloodlines - apart from the fact that it gets a little annoying if someone strange asks to bite you, just an f.y.i if you're a hungry vampire and you want to suck my blood make it feel realistic, don't ask, jump me like a real vampire would LOL... It was the outfit however that pulled me into a vampire-ish mood today, not that it takes much to get me to do something blood related hehe... The outfit is a new ImmateriA release for a new event I've never heard anything about called Fair Play, but it includes everything I'm wearing here - dress, massive shoulder pads and the hood, which would always get my attention as it's more than a little Maleficent... The skin is underworld themed too... If you're looking for Vampire stuff, a great place to go to is this month's Genre as it's an Underworld theme... This skin is one of the new skin releases from Stargazer Creations, and it helps to maintain the fact that I feel Aggie is one of the best fantasy skin makers in SL... Her skins as always come with a million different things - OK maybe not a million but the box is stuffed full - and it includes eyes, appliers, with and without cleavage options - it's brilliant!! Though I will admit in this case I am not wearing the eyes that come in the box, I chose to wear an amazing pair of antielle eyes that you can win by collecting the gold coins at Origami! So if you're a thirsty vampire, maybe you want to try Bloodlines, or if you're looking for vampire fashions maybe you want to try ImmateriA and Genre?! Sometimes when I am working on an event line-up and I get sent items, I have no shame in admitting that I find myself thinking what the heck am I going to do with this... Not everything you ever get sent is to your taste. I can say, with 100% honesty, that no matter what items I am sent to blog, I try them, I take my time to see what I could do with them and if they really don't work for me they are stored for a while in case I get an idea in my head... Then again sometimes people come up with the ideas for me! This time it was Lil's idea lol...
Lil said "Hey I could wear that suit and we could work on something together..." and it was sorted, the idea of a collaboration made it easier and we were so enjoying turning something that had been difficult into something fun! The outfit I chose to blog for Horror Haute today is one from Facepalm - called Damballah. It includes a set with top and long skirt, which to be honest brought out a bit of a gypsy style feeling in me! The outfit Lil is wearing is also a Horror Haute release, perfect for guys but also pretty cool on the ladies too!!! I kept most of my outfit simple... Featuring just some simple jewellery, although perhaps the yumyums ears and tail were a bit strange LOL but I was thinking Voodoo! Who says a Voodoo queen cannot have cat ears and a tail, maybe the magic went wrong? This weekend was brilliant, HellBone was out in RL playing with his BaCa buddies, the MC was peaceful and happy and I was able to find some time to play by myself!!! It's times like this that I cherish most in SL... Don't get me wrong I LOVE being with my SL friends and family, but when I have a moment to myself, that's when I start to get a little creative! I dig into my playbox and find all kinds of interesting things that sit waiting patiently until I am ready to use them... These things are some of them, they are things that I have been waiting on for the right moment... This was one of those moments... The time I could be alone, and call upon the Dark Arts.
This outfit from OrsiniRed at the latest round of The Fantasy Collective was something that I wouldn't normally have chosen, but I for some reason found myself gravitating towards it... Maybe it was the lure of the Dark Arts?! While wearing this outfit I added a gorgeous necklace from KOSH - that was released as a past Lazy Sunday Item - called Zuvuya in a soft gold colour to match the straps, but something strange started to happen. I had an itch that I needed to scratch... Upon looking in a mirror, the itch on my forehead had revealed a jewel from which a tattoo was spreading over my face in a Spyralle pattern. This made me fit perfectly into the Dark Arts Genre!! My eyes even began to take on a Space - or mysterious - feel, that made me look something akin to a Stargazer - possibly because they are the Space Eyes from Stargazer Creations though lol - and I fully transformed into something dark and magical! Dressed like this, I went exploring, seeking out some of SL's darker destinations... I found the most adorably dark little club - set in the theme of a dark carnival - TheFreakShowRadio club is a place that should not be missed, and I hope when I go back there will be more people present to talk to!!! It looks like a really fun place to hang out... They even have a corner in the church that is perfect for practicing the Dark Arts...

Some of you may have heard but others may not, so I will tell you all again... My Hubby - HellBone Barbosa - is a vehicle maker in SL... He creates vehicles of all different kinds from bikes, to cars to random you'd not even think that would move kinda vehicles, and some of his creations are even based on - as fan replicas - some of the more famous vehicles... One of the famous vehicles that HellBone has worked on is the Metallicar - from the TV Series Supernatural, and recently it was this vehicle and it's new update that brought us into contact with a Supernatural Super Fan... I mean OK I thought I was a fan, I thought my sister Fledge was a fan, but Adelphus definitely out fan-geeks us on that score, and I mean that in the nicest possible way!! She in SL, has a store dedicated to all things Supernatural... I think the only thing that she doesn't actually have coming out of her creative SPN store is the Winchesters themselves!
Whilst her and HellBone were discussing the Metallicar he'd been working on, he mentioned I was a fan of the show and she being very sweet sent me a gift that will soon be available through her marketplace store... I had to share it with you, it's too cute to not too... Dean, Sam and some of the other SPN cast as Hello Kitty's latest friends!!! How freaking cute! I chose to wear the Sam shirt, because well I am always going to choose Sam over any of the others, he's my favourite Celeb man candy! - I even wore special yellow eyes just for him. There is a handful of SPN characters to choose from though, so you need not worry about picking just one! You can take your pick from shirts shown below, but I wanted to also point out the Sticky Note... This is another creation from Adelphus's store KAZ2Y5! A demon in a Devil's Trap - thanks to Paper Moon at Genre - on the desk of Sam Winchester... This can only be a dangerous situation, but hey I'll take one for the team LOL... Come and get me Mr Winchester hehe...

In the past I used to be one of those people that was more than a little shy of sharing my photos... Anything I had taken always made me feel like it was never good enough and I found myself comparing my creations with those of others - a bad habit to have gotten into I KNOW but it happened none the less - so when it came to me wanting a new profile picture, I would never have used one of my own works! Though I had a change of heart, I found a confidence in myself that I never knew I had and now I feel more along the lines of, "if you don't like it, don't look at it, because I love it"... Now whenever I want a profile photo, I take one LOL... This is one of those times, and I will say I LOVE this photo hehe...
This look came about all because of a pair of glasses LOL... Normally in SL I don't tend to find myself being drawn to glasses of any kind. I wear them everyday in my RL, and so in SL I just tend not to get excited about them. People tell me I should try contacts but I prefer the look of my RL face in glasses - plus the thought of sticking my finger in my eye is UGH!! Saying all that though, I was shopping at the new Fashion Fair Event, and I spotted these adorabley huge glasses in the store DAZED! I get that they are a little Harry Potter-esque, and that overall look of the photo is not helped to move away from the wizard's feel by the fact that I too have a scar on my forehead lol... The forehead mark is something that is a little darker from Stargazer Creations. I am reliably informed by Aggie, that these marks, along with the gorgeous lipstick that I'm also wearing, is the darkest that she gets! You can get both of these cute make-up items from Genre this month, in varying colours, but I will warn you now the theme this month is the Dark Arts... Don't get caught messing around in these if you are the real Harry Potter LOL... Sometimes I even surprise myself with just how cute I can look hehe...

I have a little more witchy goodness for you now, not that it's remotely witchy, but it is definitely available from the Witching Hour today and until the 19th! I will admit that this one looks a little more horrorific than the last, and definitely more so than the next which I may share with you LOL... I just couldn't help myself, I found the teeth at a totally different event, and then when I saw the eye I was like 'HECK YEAH Rudh got her deadly back'... After the weekend I had I am in need of looking scary, but more about that later!!
Horrorifying isn't it, and it's coming for you!!! This mystical beast is a rare three eye soul eater of sorts... Basically it moves into your human skin and eats your soul turning you into this crazed looking monster. OK technically that's a load of rubbish LOL, but again the weekend I've just had you might be willing to forgive me some of that insanity! Still you get to hear all about that soon, and for now you can sit back and relax as I tell you all where you get get your grubby mits on the things that make up this horrorific look! The teeth were the first thing that I put on to play around in, and I will admit that I was a little distracted by them, so much so that I kinda forgot I was meant to be working on The Witching Hour items for a little bit as I danced around in the swamp!! The teeth are a [ni.ju] release that you can find over at the awesome Creepy Kawaii Fair. I was in love with this event, and bought a LOT, it summed up both halves of my brain in one easy move - creepy and cute - I was in heaven! I then caught sight of the bag of Witching Hour Goodies I had laid out to wear and decided to just add them to my toothy look! The Third Eye of Nature is a creation by Lillith's Den for this month's Gacha event. Available in a myriad of colours and designs, this large third eye, with its slightly glowing green veins is the perfect thing to wear with my huge teeth. Now I HATE to sound like I am being rude, but I do have one small issue with this item and that is the skin tone behind the eye... This isn't a complaint and it's not to sound rude - please don't take it as such - but I would LOVE to see the skin in varying shades. The bulbous sore look is awesome, but I'd love to have it in a paler tone - more akin to my skin - so that I could wear this more often, if not on a daily basis... PLEASE make them with paler skin pretty please?! I had to put something a little cute on with this look... I didn't want to scare anyone after all... So I added an adorable pair for Rare Bunny Earmuffs from BLD - aren't they cute! Then as a final finishing touch, just a little bit of glamour in the form of this ULTRA RARE Psychopomp - such a cool word - necklace from [TfAtN] in the Night Hart Design... You just have to love the way that random items come together sometimes LOL... This is rather scary, even for me, and I MADE IT LOL!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to those of you that celebrated that yesterday... You all made it through the copious amounts of food that everyone seems to talk about in regards to the day - I can't wait for that same feeling when I go have Christmas Dinner with my family this year! But today, there is a dark ominous presence looming over us... The air is thick with it... You can hear the distant rumble of it... Is there an Apocalypse about to happen? No... It can't be that... It would have been all over the news! That thick feeling in the air is an anticipation... The distant rumble is the sound of thousands of people running in every direction... IT'S BLACK FRIDAY!!!! I know I'm not an American, and most places across the rest of the world do not have Black Friday but as it's there in SL, and I would be a bad shoppaholic if I didn't make use of it, I'm going to get very excited!!! SO MANY STORES, SO MANY SALES!!! I found a list on Seraphim and BOY am I gonna use it!
I went on a little trip out a few days ago to try to find the perfect place to take a photo of an outfit that was a little Apocalyptic... The resulting photo just seemed perfect for this Black Friday post lol, it's a little scared looking, deer caught in the headlights style and perfectly fitting that it's not zombies coming for me but a hoard of shoppers charging around LOL... I bought a new skirt from Mirage, that you can pick up at the Apocalyptic round of Genre this month, purely because I loved this warning style texture - although the other textures in the HUD are great too! Then I went and splurged a little at the latest round of No. 21, buying both the Chambers Shirt from Razor and the Quinn Boots from REIGN... The top is awesome, I LOVE how it fits and the textures used on it, plus it looks really cute with the Clumsy hair from Magika, just sayin' lol... The Quinn Boots are AWESOME, I think I love them as much as I love my J's Boots and that is saying something hehe... BUT ANYWAY... What am I still standing around here for, chatting about random stuffs, there is shopping to be done... See you soon I hope, so long as I don't get swept away in a tide of shoppers!!!
