Sunflowers in Summer!

How is it possible that it's already the last day of May, where the heck did the last 5 months go. Everything seems to be going at light speed this year and I'm scared to blink in case I miss it... 
June is looking like it should be a good month. I get to go see my family, so I'll be going to see my grandma and can support my mum through a session of chemo. Speaking of Mum, we're taking her to see Take That - if she's feeling up to it - and that will be a fab, fun time at the Circus... AND we are one step closer to being able to move back home... I CANNOT WAIT, but until then how 'bout we get the start of the Summer started... 

There are so many fun things to look forward to, besides the previously mentioned family visit, and chance to see my childhood first loves. I'm ONE step closer to being home and therefore away from this camping situation that I live in right now... 
There are lots of fun things to come around in Second Life at the moment... One of the most important that needs to be shared at the moment, aside from the fact that Sunflower fairies are out in full force to share the sunny love, is the fact that one of Second Life's most important and long standing events has finally opened for it's 20th anniversary edition.
 I remember when Hair Fair first started and it was full of so many weird and wonderful new hair styles, fledgling designers that we know and love today and the chance to raise some big bucks for a charity that is beyond deserving. Wigs for Kids has raised millions to help provide children with wigs when they have lost their hair due to sickness or other issues, and we in Second Life have been great at supporting their mission every year, for the past 20 years - lead by the wonderful Sasy Scarborough - to raise money to aid in that support... So on that note, I'm going to let the Sunflower Fairy fluff up her new Shy Wig - from monso in the Foils Region of Hair Fair, with a 30% donation to the cause - as she got great hair and the kids that benefit have just a teeny amount of extra help!

Calm in the Battleground Camp

I've been on cloud nine today, HellBone decided to cave in and bought himself and I new computers. It was something we needed to purchase so that we could keep up with the Second Life changes...It's like logging in on a machine that took me into another universe altogether... 
The warzone in my mind between the amount of money that it cost, became a losing battle to the way that the upgrade DEFINITELY seemed so needed... 

The ghosts and zombies of my old PC set-up stil linger in the back of my mind as I spend my time learning how to use the super fast monster machine that I have now... I'm just dealing with making it pretty, letting the hubby install all the right things and hoping that it will last me a LONG time now... I'm learning to use my new friend in the midst of the battle of my old one being sent to PC part heaven... I mean it's not hard, I'm mostly sitting back, to let the aftermath go on around me...

Do you like Scary Movies?

On days off I tend to love reading and taking pretty pictures in SL, I'm sure you've guessed all that by now, but my hubby is definitely MUCH more of a movie freak... I am not particularly a movie watcher. I have my firm favourites, I will get lost in my mind any time I watch the LOTR and Princess Diaries is my go-to make me feel better kind of movie... HellBone loves all different kinds of movies, Horror being his go-to... 

Watching movies these days is NOTHING like it used to be when I was in my teens or even early 20s. When I was a kid or even a teen, I remember nights when Mum and Dad said we could rent a video to watch from the local video shop. We didn't have a Blockbuster, but there was a local family owned video shop - a bit like the backdrop from blaink - but by the time DVDs were becoming a thing, the shop was beginning to close it's doors... 
I am NOT  a scary movie fan though, HellBone loves them and likes to terrorise me, making me watch them sometimes... Last time I jumped so much during a scary scene that I spilled my drink and dropped my dinner... Rudh got so scared in the video store today that she threw one of the slices of pizza that she'd stolen from the clerk on the desk...

A Different Kind Of Magic!

Once again I've had a long day of chaos with my daily job and the fact that Holland has no trains running meaning the busses were full and people were having issues... I'm home from work now and needing a little magic to make things feel better...

Magic can be found in many places, and caused by many things... There are many things that people would consider magic and if you asked a collection of people, they may all surprise you by saying things that are different... 
One thing that seems like magic at the moment is that Hair Fair 2025 is now happening, and runs until June 15th... This charity event has changed a lot over the years but the magical part is that every year thousands of dollars are raised to assist in the creation of Wigs for Kids that are very much in need... The smiles on their faces is a little magic the world could use right now... 
The little fae was super excited in the gardens today as her and her Hair Brownie - which is a creation from Tardfish, available at the Hair Fair - were playing in the flowers and she found herself a new wand of the magic kind... It won't do much to tame her wild "Svetik Hair" - from monso, also at the Hair Fair - but the cutie Curling Iron is definitely magic!!!

Time for a Rest!

Today was a HUGE day for me, today was the day that I presented my final presentation for the end of the Management Training course that I took in my RL job. I was SUPER nervous, I was so scared I'd mess things up and I did almost make a bit of a fluffy error - normally I tell the story of the company I work for day in, day out, but today in front of my bosses I kinda fluffed it up... BUT at the end it was all smiles, my boss had a message to tell her that our Area Manager was incredibly proud of me, and I left feeling over the moon... 
Now I have a few days off, a few days to relax recouperate and refresh my batteries... I am so happy to be able to not think for a while... 

I'm going to have a damn good few days of doing NOTHING much... I might go exploring in SL, I might do nothing but take pictures or read a book or maybe I'll even start scrap-booking but I'm going to relax and enjoy myself... 
If the weather was nicer, I might take myself to the beach - one like the Beach Bar Backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - but then I dont think there is anywhere around here in RL that I could call a tropical beach... Maybe I'll just have to fake it in SL and dress in a cute bikini - like the Tulla Bikini from AsteroidBox that is available until July 6th at Collabor88 - oooh and while I'm on a tropical beach I might just have to help myself to a super gorgeous Tropical Necklace - from katat0nik - since they will serve as both pretty and delicious all at the same time...

Prepping for a Month of Wigs & Pride

Today is June 1st. There are things about today that need to be noticed... Today marks the fact that exactly 6 months from now we are on the slippery slope to Christmas. It's the month in which I finish the study I've had to participate in so that I can move up the working ladder. There are things in SL too... June 1st is the start of Pride Month and it's the opening day of the annual Hair Fair... Two massively important events that need to be celebrated in their own ways... 

Both of these events are for fantastic things... Both of these things need have awareness raised for them...
I'm always an advocate for Pride Month. I've had my experiences and enjoyed every moment of them, I don't tend to label myself but no matter what I'll always ben an ally for the cause. Some of my best, most favourite and most wonderful people identify themselves as being within the Gay community and I love the fact that the world has become a lot more free so that they are free to live their lives as they choose. 
On the subject of love, one of those charity events that I feel deserves a lot of love has started. The annual Hair Fair event has opened it's doors with bucket loads of linden dollars being donated to a cause that needs more attention. Wigs for Kids is the charity of choice, and if you've been following my blog at all over the years you'll know how much I ove this cause. A charity that creates wigs for children that have lost their hair be that because of illness or some other reason thereofre boosting their confidence and allowing them to feel stronger and more like they fit in... How can you not want to get behind something like that?! PLUS because it's a Hair based shopping event in SL that is not only raising awareness but also raising funds, you can get your pretty little bald head into some fancy new wigs as you donate to the cause.
So this is your early monthly warning, be prepared for lots of rainbows as I celebrate Pride, and lots of wigs as I enjoy Hair Fair...

Sunnies Behaving Badly!

A Happy Sunny, Sunday, the first of July... WHAT THE HECK, HOW CAN IT ALREADY BE JULY?! This month will be brilliant, I have to get some more training to be able to run the store on my own for the whole of August, and at the end of the month HellBone and I will be taking a short vacation to go home and see my family in the UK - it's a break that is very much needed... 
I will always be the first to admit that I HATE Summer. It's the season I could live without, since I really dislike the heat. I will admit however that I love the brilliantly bright colours of Summer, the sunshine on the flowers and the fact that Ice Lollies are a must in this heat... 

One of my favourite things come out of summer... Sunflowers are summer flowers and they match the season very well with their bright colour and smily sunshiney faces, and so of course I can never miss the opportunity to visit a Sunflower Farm... 
As with a lot of places in my world, there are fairies on this farm... These fairies are best friends with all of the Sunnys the Happy Flowers- the Sunny Happy Flowers that are both with and without the sungless are from Aardvark for this weekend's sales events - that live in the fields and are supposed to put on a good example for the new little sunflowers that are brought in by hand - from Junk Food - to join the family...

Bug Hunting in the Creek

I feel like I'm on a bit of a fantasy kick at the moment, but that's not entirely my fault as so many designers out there are making such wonderfully fairytale-ish things, AND it's definitely NOT a bad thing... I always say I feel happy when I'm in a dark, macabre state, but when I can let my inner fairy out to play I feel like awesome sauce... 
I normally let my mind wander and create an amazing story in my head around the fairy stylings, but that doesn't always need to be the case. Fairies can just be super cute little magical pretties as much as they need to be fairies of a specific thing, and so today we're going to play in the garden with one of those special little ladies... She's found down by the creek, where the creepy crawlies like to hide... 

The creek is located within the gorgeous Jungle Harmony - a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - and here you may find our little fairy flitting in and out of the grasses... Margaritas on Friday!

It's finally Friday, and this week seems to have been one that's been frought with drama on SL Facebook - the body debate, really seems to have divided the people on SL facebook, its been a debate that's messed with my Anxiety level and so I'm trying to avoid it as much as possible. It's a pointless arguement in which people are bringing body shaming into SL... 
I think it's time for a drink or two, something tht will help me relax a little. I feel tense by all of the drama, I don't come to SL for drama, I'm done with drama... I need something stiff to drink... I'm also not good with straight alcohol, so I'm in the mood to whip up a batch of cocktails... 

I've decided to set myself up a little back yard party, everything is bright and sunny and it seems like the perfect way to relax on a Friday afternoon, even if I'm doing it on my own... I slipped into a bikini, and pulled my hair into a cute high ponytail - a special release called Synthia, by Astralia for Hair Fair 2022 - and set up a cute little bar area, close to my pool. 
I was whipping up a batch of Margaritas and decided that today I needed MUCHO Margaritas, filled with brightly coloured straws and pretty things like umbrellas - luckily Junk Food has created a batch of them for N21 this month. Whilst I was busy making cocktails though I had an accidental spill, some of the margarita mix splashed and ended up in my pool... Then I had the idea... MARGARITA POOL!

Daisies Here, Daisies There... I Love Daisies Everywhere!

I had a day off today and it was much needed after my first day back at work following my personal covid lockdown. It was harder than I thought in getting back to work. So, while it was a lovely relaxing day, I'd decided to spend some time just wandering around and exploring SL, wandering around places that I've loved to explore... Today, I found myself wandering through the beautiful, scenic, peaceful Whimberly... 

I absolutely love this location, even though it changes, the peace and serenity of the agricultural location is so pretty... 
While I was exploring the farm, I can't help but stopping and taking a peek at how cute I looked I HAD to take a picture, it's a little bit of a look-of-the-day perhaps... The outfit comes in many colour combinations and patterns, comes from miss chelsea in the Anya Collection, available until July 22nd at Uber. I'd been picking daisies, making a bouquet, filling my basket full and lacing them through my hair. 
While on the subject of my hair, I have to make a special mention of it... This hair is a special release called "Arora" from the store Monso at Hair Fair, on the Noirette Sim. A portion of the sales of this hair will go directly to the charity Wigs for Kids, that raises money to create wis for children that need them as a little form of strenght and support.

Hairy Hare Pirates!

Hair Fair 2022 has started, in fact it's been open for a while now, and there are lots of hairy reasons to pop in for a visit. Hair Fair is a very long standing event in SL now, every year they raise money and awareness for a charity that provides support and happiness for children in need... Wigs for Kids is a charity that creates wigs for children who have lost their hair through illness, providing these kids with a boost of confidence and happiness, something that is very much needed in the world...
This year however, there are also PIRATES... The Hare Fair Hares have become a pirate crew and they are on land in search of hairy treasures... 

Hair Fair this year seems to have been met with mixed reactions from the SL shopping community, but one thing remains the same. There is something for everyone, to meet any budget - be it freebie gifts, exclusive releases from a variety of different designers and even the bandanas, which in years gone by were brilliant for shopping in a laggy, chaotic place. Some of the bigger SL hair designers were not present, but that doesn't matter, there are lots of new designers to find showing off their wares, and I know that I managed to find 4 or 5 styles that I love! 
Whilst there though I also fell in love with the cutest pirate crew, made up exclusively of the Hair Fair Hares, that is until I got myself into the crew, and became the new captain... They loved my hair, which I'd just had done at the Exile booth - who made 25% donation to the cause from any of the purchase sales made, Exile can be found in the Foils Sim of the event.

Pride is at an End!

June is almost at a close, and that means that Pride month is almost coming to a close. Just a few more hours of Pride events to celebrate the fantastic month of awareness and love. a chance to celebrate diversity and differences of love and it's many happy lovelies... It's been a great month, so many beautifully fun events have been run. There's been parties and concerts and parades... The colours have shown, the support has shown, and Love is love and it's everywhere...  

Unfortunately, as the month comes to an end, Pride events must also end... That doesn't mean that everything Pride stands for has been closed and we no longer have to think of the things Pride stands for. The feelings of Love being Love, people being allowed to love whoever they love and be whomever they choose to be, shall remain and be virtues that are worth fighting for... 
I do have time for just one more set of rainbows and sparkles... A rainbow to show that Love is Love, a Doitsu No Kuma TeddyBear for cuddles and hair a rainbowlicious Hair gift from Mina, that is sharing a little love of a different kind. My hair is actually a gift hair that you can pick up at this year's Hair Fair. There will be more information on that in another post but it's raising money for Wigs for Kids and surely, while we're thinking of Love, giving a child a little support and happiness that they need is a very lovely and important task!

She ain't no Peaky Blinder!

You might have realised that I'm more than a little homesick, and it's making me think back to my family past and present... I've had some very interestingly, colourful characters in my family tree, including a prostitute from London that was alive and working when Jack the Ripper was around, a Bishop of London and even a designer of a well-known memorial momument in Belgium... 
Yet now I'm thinking of my Dad's father and his brothers.. They were a group of 10 and were lads in London, and although they weren't around as early as the 1920's, pictures of them definitely made me think of the Peaky Blinders... 

Of course, one thought led to another, and I'm instantly feeling like I need to re-create something a little 1920's Peaky Blinderish... As my puppy - a German Shepherd Pup from Foxwood at Kustom9 - and I wandered through the streets of Old London - the Victorian London level of the Time Portal - I started to blame my sudden desire for a Peaky Blinder moment on the pictures, but also the amazing new hat and hair that I'd recently treated myself to... 
The MINA "Casey" Hair is a special release for Hair Fair 2021 - located on the Streaks Sim - meaning that a portion of the price you pay for the wig will be donated to the "Wigs for Kids" Charity.

Something Hairy is Coming... HAIR FAIR IS ON IT'S WAY!

I will not deny that I am addicted to shopping in SL... I LOVE finding interesting stores, and never miss the events  - even if sometimes I'm being lazy and just shopping them via Seraphim LOL - but there has ALWAYS been one event that is close to my heart. An event that, even though I am not affected by the reason, I always love to support more than the others. The event I'm talking about is HAIR FAIR, and their long supported charity that is "Wigs for Kids"... 
Last year, the event wasn't able to take place, BUT on June 18th 2021, HAIR FAIR SL IS BACK!!

That's right, this coming Friday, to a small set of sims, we will see the return of the HAIR FAIR for 2021... There is so much good that can be said of this event every year, with so many Hairy designers donating, people giving money and all those wigs we can help to buy for the kids that need them... 
Now before the gates open on Friday there is some information that has to be shared... 
They have the Hair Fair Demo Group opening up ready for you... On June 17th, you will be able to get your hands on the demos for the hairs that are going to be available at the fair, so that you can try before you fight to get in! All the information can be found the Hair Fair Website... Plus, I have a little surprise for someone... Someone that messages me after reading this may get themselves a BIG HAIRY SURPRISE hehe...

Saving the Fluffy Dragon

I've been reading back through some of my recent ramblings, and I've noticed a pattern LOL... I seem to spend far too much time complaining about how tired I am and so from now on, take that as a given and let's talk interesting stuff shall we?! 
I seem to have been on quite a fairy tale kick lately, and a lot of that may be an escape from busy RL - a good escape right?! 

While on the subject of running away, this little fairy was tasked with a mission... Break into the dark fae world through the Fairytale Mirror Portal - a mirror by LOVE - located in the forest glade amongst the Viking Standing Stones - by Hextraordinary - to rescue the Rare Snow Fluffy Dragon - from Lovely Alien - and return him to safety!

Lost in a Breeze

My emotions are going on a crazy rollercoaster at the moment... I was elated to find out that my boss has planned me off for 5 days without even being ask, but I'm disheartened by a friend and his actions... Then again I'm overly excited as I have a house full of food because I went grocery shopping and in the next moment I'm bawling my eyes out because I keep dropping things... I blame it on being tired, but the picture I created today is not just sleepy serene, it's also full of emotions and no matter which mood you're in you can feel her emotion match yours... 

Happiness at the cooling breeze, coziness caused by the warm snuggly sweater, peace caused by the sound of the rippling water... Or is there more to it? Is it sadness, exhaustion or lonliness? 
I have to say I love the way that this picture turned out, and on top of how awesome I think it looks, it's actually showcasing some Hair Fair goodies, in the form of this gorgeous Venere Hair from Wasabi, and the subtle but delicately pretty LODE Symphony hair accessory - both of which can be found on the Noirette Sim of Hair Fair 2019.

Painting the Town

I feel like it's been a very long few weeks and I'm still working far more than I think I can handle, but the count down has begun for me to be able to take some time off and head to visit my family in the UK... Just 14 weeks to go LOL... Until then I'm going to focus on blogging and taking pictures, it's the only really relaxing thing to do... 
Today I got overly excited, I found out that I'd been accepted to blog for Misschevious and that made my evening feel pretty sparkly!! I was SUPER excited... I wanted to paint the town red... 

Of course, I couldn't find any red spray paint so it had to be pink... it's close enough, I mean it's light red LOL... 
Now it just to happened that I was planning the picture for two items, but as I was accepted to Misschevious blog team I guess I have THREE things to share with you from designers that are worth mentioning... Not that the rest of it isn't, but I'd be here all night if I had to tell you all the good stuff about my look today hehe... 
First up, since I'm working from the top down, is this new hair release from Adoness for Hair Fair 2019 called Scum! Then on to the amazing earring, it's a Pendulum Earring from Zombie Suicide which is available now at Belle, and finally a cheek wound or "Love Cut" from Misschevious which is part of a gacha collection for the current round of ROMP. 
Now because both the earrings and face wound need a little extra clarity, I've decided to share the store ads here, but I will say the best way to see them is to go check them out for yourselves... They are things that could be useful no matter what your chosen style is... I know I will be using them again and again!

Hair Fair Eclipse!

A few days ago I mentioned not one but TWO awesome events that were on the horizon... Well... Both ECLIPSE and Hair Fair 2019 have now officially opened for business!!
Rudh has been playing around with tons of new hair, and some awesome goodies for those of us that like the darker things in life, but out of no where an outfit seemed to fall together... Something a little bit cyber goth perhaps?! 

I guess you might call it a Hair Fair ECLIPSE look of the day, but I found this hair at the event, it's an exclusive from Sintiklia with the proceeds going to the charity. It's not something I'd usually even consider, but I tried it on and thought "oooh this is fun" and I knew I'd be using it to make something pretty with... Now I'll admit I bought it in a Crazy Color pack thinking I'd do something bright and random and neon, but then I guess due to the colour shirt I chose I was drawn back to a more normal Rudhish Red. Its' funny because the shirt - an ECLIPSE release from Ghoul - comes in so many bright neon colours, I have no idea how I was drawn back to red, but I love it!!

Baldness Before Hair Fair Starts

OOOOOH IT'S COMING... The air is scented with the smells of luxury shampoos, and the bubbles dance in the breeze... The stylists are straightening, curling and dyeing the last of the wigs... HAIR FAIR IS OPENING TOMORROW - Saturday August 17th 2019 - and although smaller than previous years it seems like this one will be EPIC! 
The day before the opening, I tend to run around there like a crazy person - as I'm sure many of the lucky bloggers that are allowed early access tend to do - and grab as much as I can, but I always make time to get bald and spread the excitement of the event that's coming... 

Hair Fair 2019 is one of the longest running annual events in SL... I remember being super excited even in my earliest days for Hair Fair, a chance to buy TONS of hair from designers that I knew, and some that I didn't while raising money and awareness for an amazing cause. Things have changed a little since then, I'm now honoured to feel a little like part of their press team, and I will do anything I can to support the organizers and designers that participate... 
Hair Fair SL has always been dedicated to raising funds and awareness for the RL Charity that is Wigs for Kids - an organization which creates wigs for children that have for one reason or another lost their hair. 
Such a worthy cause, for the next two weeks from tomorrow until September 1st, you can get your hands on some adorable new hairstyles that will help hundreds of children find the confidence that they lost along with their hair! Shopping, New Hair and a sense of helping a good cause... The benefits are great!!! Don't miss Hair Fair... LMS will be shared soon!!!!

Bandana Day at Hair Fair 2018

Hair Fair is coming to an end, today is the last day and we're down to the wire in the fund raising efforts for Wigs for Kids. Yet the last day of the Hair Fair has always been something of a special one because the last day of Hair Fair has always been Bandana Day... The day when we pull off our wigs and wear bandanas to raise yet more awareness for the cause. 
There are so many gorgeous bandanas available, each a donated design to raise money for the cause, but I had to have this one... 

I loved this little bandana from Blossom Mesh but available at the Hair Fair... 
It made me want to go out and meet some new friends...
