Sunflowers in Summer!

How is it possible that it's already the last day of May, where the heck did the last 5 months go. Everything seems to be going at light speed this year and I'm scared to blink in case I miss it... 
June is looking like it should be a good month. I get to go see my family, so I'll be going to see my grandma and can support my mum through a session of chemo. Speaking of Mum, we're taking her to see Take That - if she's feeling up to it - and that will be a fab, fun time at the Circus... AND we are one step closer to being able to move back home... I CANNOT WAIT, but until then how 'bout we get the start of the Summer started... 

There are so many fun things to look forward to, besides the previously mentioned family visit, and chance to see my childhood first loves. I'm ONE step closer to being home and therefore away from this camping situation that I live in right now... 
There are lots of fun things to come around in Second Life at the moment... One of the most important that needs to be shared at the moment, aside from the fact that Sunflower fairies are out in full force to share the sunny love, is the fact that one of Second Life's most important and long standing events has finally opened for it's 20th anniversary edition.
 I remember when Hair Fair first started and it was full of so many weird and wonderful new hair styles, fledgling designers that we know and love today and the chance to raise some big bucks for a charity that is beyond deserving. Wigs for Kids has raised millions to help provide children with wigs when they have lost their hair due to sickness or other issues, and we in Second Life have been great at supporting their mission every year, for the past 20 years - lead by the wonderful Sasy Scarborough - to raise money to aid in that support... So on that note, I'm going to let the Sunflower Fairy fluff up her new Shy Wig - from monso in the Foils Region of Hair Fair, with a 30% donation to the cause - as she got great hair and the kids that benefit have just a teeny amount of extra help!

Enchanting Little Mushrooms

Today has been crap but tomorrow is my day off so I'll be able to take things a little easier for a change. I'm going to spend the day relaxing doing not a lot and reading a lot more... I don't want to think about anything, I just want to turn my brain off and not have to deal with people or things... A fantasy world is the place I need to be... 

I'll keep it short and sweet today because frankly I am already falling asleep. Its making me see things that aren't real... The Prettiest Death

It's Halloween season, you can't really have missed it unless you're living under a rock, and we're getting closer and closer to the spookies coming to a head this month. There is somuch going on and I'm finding it very hard to keep my head up and think about things I need to get done. I won't complain, life is just moving very fast and I am more than a little tired, but at least it is moving forwards... Though I am not sure if it's due to Spooky Season, or if it's just because of some RL stuff at the moment but death seems to be on my mind a fair bit... 

Death has aways come in so many different forms, and even if you're not into graphic representations of Death many people will have an idea of what they believe this figure will look like. Even some of the world's most early human cultures had their representations of death and the vast majority of those were not the Grim Reaper that we often associate Death with nowdays. 
I think for me, my favourite representation of Death was the one from the Supernatural franchise, and Julian Richings - who played him - deserves multiple awards! Though if I was going to Grim Reaper or Death myself, I think she'd be a little more ethereal... A little more otherworldly... A little more kick butt in a pretty outfit...

Jungle Fae

I know that it happens a lot, but sometimes when days off happen, I tend to find my brain slipping into a magical fantasy world inhabited by fae, mermaids and monsters. ALL OF WHICH look somewhat like me, but are like perfect magical little chunks of my mind... 
This time we find ourselves in the deepest of jungles - which happens to be a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis, where the light dances between the trees and the pollen dances in the breeze... This is where we find one of the illusive jungle fae, floral, bright and friends with the cute little beasts... 

Any time that I get to go Fae, I LOVE IT... I can't help but smile, it makes me a very happy girl to let the inner fae out to play... 
This jungle fae loves to play in the sunlight, dancing through the trees and enjoying the fun with her Lil Gacko friends - from MishMish - decked in vines and tropical flowers like the amazingly rare Midnight Hibiscus flowers - a stole from Static at Anthem...

Sugar Skulls in Spring

I know that it's spring but there have been stirrings within the monster realm as the changing of the season means there is pretty and it's something that the scary, dark monsters are not used to... This year though they intend to be part of the fun, they want to enjoy the fresh, the colours, the new life... This year the monsters are getting excited for Spring... 

The monsters are celebrating in lots of different ways, but one of the prettiest of the monsters, the Dia De Los Muertos, Sugar Skull Princess has been dancing around changing her fall coloured flowers for th pretty pinks of Spring... She's a pink, rose Sugar Skull princess... Roses across her eyes, through her hair and round her neck. Her ears wear jewels fitting of the Sugar Skull spirit that she is - earrings from Boutique #187 in today's Lazy Sunday Event by Seraphim - and the cent of the roses dances on the breeze... Spring seems to be coming to Monsterville...

Toxic Goo in the Forest!

Honestly I have been so busy today that I was debating with myself about 'did I have enough energy?' to figure out something that I wanted to dress in, photograph and talk about... 
I think that this time, I could find just that ounce of energy to discuss a Halloween look today, because I have been waiting to play around with a look like this, and it came together so well... 
SLIME!!! Oozes and drips and great big mahoosive globs of slime... The green gooey kind that's a little toxic... 

I used to love the movie Fern Gully, with Tim Curry voicing the evil and toxic Hexxus that was trying to destroy the forest using man's machines... Now I could never do a legend like Tim Curry justice, even when he's only a voice of a character so I've decided that I'm more like his evil toxic cousin, Noxious... I'm a green toxic waste kinda slime, and I'm left in the places where people dump their rubbish illegally... I radiate and sparkle in a neon green, and I assist in the mutation and degeneration of the beings that live there...

Dog Walking in the Woods

 It's been a week now, and I've been more than a little distracted this week, but there's something that I cannot stop myself having to take a moment to talk about... This year's Dark Adventure has been open for a whole week. My hubby HellBone, Bestieface Spooky and our darling Salem, worked our little butts off on a million different things, all whilst fighting RL demons, to bring an adventure to life and there is a subtle nod to one our all-time favourite things... We're heading into Halloween Town, home of a 30 year old Nightmare, but because it's out own little Dark Adventure, of course there is a bit of a twist... 

Alongside this though, a Dark Adventure into Halloween Town wouldn't be the same without our own little version of a certain skeleton and his reliable puppy companion... Of Course, I had to Rudhify things a little, there's no way I'd want to be normal right?! 
I've twisted Jack and moulded him to become my own version of the Pumpkin princess... I couldn't be the Queen could I? That's Sally! Yet I love to be the heir to their throne and I love to make my own Dark Adventures in the grove of trees... I have to wear a skeleton mask, and have a collection of different ones from The Shadow Fox - a selection that is available now until October 12th at Ritual - and yes I do wear a striped suit, although that too is more Rudh than Burton - and really comes from AsteroidBox, at Anthem until October 27th - and it's a little bit more comfortable for walking through the woods with my adorably Happy Doggo - from Tardfish...

Drinking Induced Nightmares...

Yesterday was a TOTAL nightmare and today I've been a little nervous, feeling shocking due to the events of yesterday. It caused me to miss my Monsterous month target but I'm hoping that I can just carry on as much as possible. I think though, today I need a very STIFF drink, there's no better place to get myself a halloween drink, than at the nearest Halloween party... 

I don't know what I want to drink, I really need something stronger and I feel like making myself a fancy cocktail... I am having pizza for dinner, nothing as fancy as you might get at the Halloween Party - like the ones I'd laid out from vespertine - and the TWO different flavours of fancy Ice Cream for dessert, in this case I'm going for something Humane and Eyeballs - thanks to Clover and Aardvark in that order... But Now it's time to start mixing up the strongest of drinks... I'm going to mix some Crabby Apple Beer and some Mutant Energy Drinks - both of which are available from Junk Food at the mainstore - I made myself into a Shamless Martini - an accessory by Figure 8... I MAY have drunk a few of those too many, it didnt take long until the chocolates that I'd been holding onto for later became Horror Chocolates - from Aardvark - floating around my head, gnashing it's teeth at me menacingly...

Needling the Dolls

So far I'm on a roll, though I think that tomorrow that's about to change as I won't be able to get a blog post done due to RL working keeping me out late... I'm not going to complain though, I am still going to make sure that every post counts where the monstrous me is concerned... 
Today I went out treasure hunting, I got to go to the local thrift stores in search of treasures, and I LOVED IT... Books, some random decor and even a couple of those weird doll animals - which HellBone makes look dead and then resells online - made it home with us, and it reall got me thinking about all of my old toys. Where are they now? I used to love some of my old dolls, I cannot find my old favourite and I hope that I never threw him away... Losing a doll could be dangerous... 

Certain dolls are fun to play with, certain dolls are dangerous, and I wonder which I like more... I LOVE the idea of a voodoo doll, I'm always a little daunted by them but there are some amazing stories, secrets and magical things to learn about them... Before I get myself to play with one, I plan on reading as many books as I could to learn as much as I can - set in a pose like the Idealist pose set from -Extra- that includes book props - before I even let myself pick up any kind of Spooky Desire Dolls - from KitCat - to attempt anything... Being a doll herself,will it have as much magical success? She's a Patchwork doll herself - thanks to the Sweet Thing Patchwork Set - and she's definitely prepped to be ready for the attempt of testing a doll herself. Primed with the Poppet Pins - from Violetility - and a some needles in her Niddle Collar - a gorgeously spike collar from Chemical Princess - but nothing will happen until she makes the first poke into the dollies chest...

Demons Waiting in the Dark

Things are getting more and more Autumnal, and with that comes the most wonderful time of the year - yes I know that people say that about Christmas - but we all know that it is infact Halloween, right?! I LOVE letting the spooky out, I love when the darkness takes over me and the magic happens and I'll admit it, that's exactly what has happened today... 
There is a demon out there, waiting to be ushered in with the Halloween magic, but until that time she's going to just watch and wait from the highest tower where the dark magic floats on the breeze... 

There is a dark, yet magical place. No where near heaven but high enough that a demonness could watch and wait for the moment when the gap between the human world and the Halloween nightmares are closer and easier to skip across... 
This demoness is of the pretty type. Not made for damage of the physical kind, but definitely of the twisted mental kind. She's twisted, dressed in a slinky black Bajor Dress - from Normandy - for the seduction of her targets, yet her face is scarred by Ember - a wound collection for the face from Samia. She's watching, waiting and observing... Held back from doing anything until her Deviltrap Collar - from Oblivis, at the Engine Room which opens on September 20th -  pops it's lock and she can escape to the human world...

Tears so you Forget-Me-Not...

Today has been a bit of a sad day... It was the funeral of my mum's oldest friend's mother. She was a lady of epic proportions, never having had granddaughters she adopted me and my little sister, and even though she reached the grand old age of 96, she always had a spring in her step, never complained about anything and was constantly heard singing her favourite song about rocking all over the world... On other news, I heard something about another friends mother that was less happy and a lot more worrying... After all of the people I know getting ill lately, this was the one that pushed me over the edge and tears were shed for everyone... 
Feeling a little melancholy, and rather blue, I knew what needed to be done, I let the fantasy take over and became the fairy of the Forget Me Not... 

For some reason, the Forget Me Not Fairy is often found wandering around in the Graveyard - which is a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - carrying a bunch of her namesake flowers as she weeps for those forgotten souls in the dark. Her tears mingling with her magic to join the constellations in the sky - since they are Constella tears from KitCat - reminding everyone to Forget-Me-Not...

Trouble in Oz

I've finally had a day off and it's been an amazing chance to relax, unwind and let my brain have a bit of a rest. While doing that I've had plenty of time, amid doing all of the chores, to sit down, log in and let my imagination soar with a day of picture taking... 
While I sat and let my mind drift off, Rudh ended up on one of her magical adventures... This time she was taken to the magical land of Oz, where the road glitters gold in the sunlight and the cities are made of emeralds... It was there, she bumped into some interesting characters, and caused more than a small national crisis... 

My trip to the wonderful world of Oz seemed to be going smoothly until the house that I was riding in came crash landing into the sleep inducing poppy field. I'd parked my house on the edge of the Yellow Brick Road - a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis that is available September 2nd at Enchantment - but my parking hadn't been as good as I'd hoped... I did something terrible... I crashed my house onto the owner of the Ruby Red Slippers... It wasn't a witch... I LANDED ON DOROTHY!!!! 
She'd been on a walk with the Rudh Scarecrow and Rudh Tin Woman... They did not look too happy. Scarecrow went into a panic, arms out running around in circles crying "What do we do? What do we do?", so much for her having gotten a brain from Oz. The Tin Woman was a little more in control, pulling out her phone - the Tin Man phone from Boutique #187, also at Enchantment - to call in the flying monkeys and get the aid of the Lion... 
I think I'm in trouble!!! Get me the heck out of Oz!!!

Spring Fairy holds the Key

I'm still not a happy bunny as my computer is still something that HellBone is slowly working on fixing, I'm just having to test my skills and try to use Hell's computer to take some pictures are get my blogging caught up on... I needed to get some things done, and this was the only way, I'm not sure that I am overly happy with the results, but we'll get things back to the way that they should be... 
I wanted to do something a little magical and take my mind off everything real life that is bringing me down, and let my inner fairy out to play... I used to convince myself I was a mermaid at heart but I think recently that may have shifted, now I feel much more confident in a pair of sparkly wings full of colour and magic... 

All of the seasons have their own magical feelings, and each of them is remarkable in their own way, but for some reason Spring seems to be more magical than most seasons. It's the time when things come to life, the flowers bloom and the sun starts to warm up... I love the sun this time of the year, it's warming without burning, and the light dances in pretty sparkling rays... 
The Spring Fairy dances through the light beams assisting the flowers to sprout, they come out all over her skin, today it just happens to be daisies, and dancing with her adorable little butterfly buddies - from MishMish - all the while she guards the keys in her Keys Antlers - available until June 3rd at Enchantment from Boutique #187 - these are the keys to the secret garden that she protects with her magic...

The Beauty on the Mantelpiece

The Midnight Order releases all kinds of magic into the Second Life universe, and the beauty of the midnight hour is definitely where the sparkles are left to glitter in the dark... 
While going through a box of treasures left at the Midnight Order, I found the most amazingly beautiful bust that simply had to come out into the light and be placed amongst the treasures on my mantlepiece... 

The Mantelpiece in the Vintage Room - a backdrop from TROPIX - I have an old fireplace with a HUGE mantlepiece that I scatter with some of the most gorgeous antique, and somewhat magical treasures... The treasures are filled with so much magic and light, that even the cobwebs are left to sparkle... 
The Bust that I found will definitely sit pretty in the middle of the decorations, she's a soft blue porcelain decorated with deeper blue enamel - thanks to the Fallen Gods Inc at Midnight Order - and lace, jewellery and feathers and the most beautiful wig - from S-CLUB also at Midnight Order...

Disco Sparkles

I love the times when I can use my blogging as a means of distraction from my everyday normal boring mundanities of life... When I let my mind wander, I never know where it will take me, I love it most when I'm taken to those fantastical creative places... 
Today was one of those places, I had gotten my hands on something that made my mind go into asuper sparkly place.A place where the lights are bright and the glitter is dancing on the walls... 

There's a place out there in the galaxy, a club called the Hexagon Hall - a backdrop from Paparazzi, that you can find at Backdrop City which is free for anyone to use - where the lights are bright, and the music is pumping. This club isn't like any other, the dress code is pretty radical, but it's amazing to see all of the pretty sparkling colours. The sparkles are made even more epicly bright because of the sparkling disco balls... The "Disco Ball" Mask - from Dernier - sending rainbows skittering across the walls of the club, coloured by the Crystals in her hand, the pink fluffy 'Blair Boa' - from Mug at Equal10 - soft against my skin that's not covered by the gorgeous little dress.

Fairies Bringing the Snowflakes

Everywhere in the neck of the woods in the RL world, things seem to be dusted with the cold, white stuff... This morning, there was lots of thick frost on our car, and I've seen pictures of people playing in snow, and people skating on the ice in the Netherlands. It's COLD, my fingers and toes are feeling the chill and have become little ice blocks, and all I feel like doing is curling up under a blanket to hide... 
The snow fairies have been dancing through my part of the world, leaving trails of frost and twirling flakes of snow on the air.... 

A Magical Frozen Winter Scene - a backdrop from irrISIStible - where the trees are lit with sparkles as the snowflakes dance in the moonlight, and the Snow Fae explore the fresh drifts... 
Snow fairies are both sweet and pretty, but dark and devious too... There are some that showcase the beautiful side of snow fall, there are others that bring the black ice... The black flakes from the dark fairies totally opposite to the sparkling white ones, it's less Merry Christmas, more Merry Gothmas...

Getting Trolled!

Last night I missed doing a 31 days of Halloween post since I had to go to the airport in RL to pick up my father, but there were accidents and I really didn't feel like sitting on my own and writing a blog post for a costume that I hadn't prepared... 
Today though was a different story. I had fallen in love with something that had been available for the Happy Weekend sale, and as soon as I got my hands on them, I knew that today's look would be something a little bit of a trolling post... 

It's Troll-tastic... I'm off my trolley.. I can't get enough trolling puns... 
It's all because of the fact that he Halloween trolls - from imbue at this weekend just gones Happy Weekend - are heading down to Spooky Street - a backdrop from Synnergy.Tavis - for their own little Halloween celebration... 
I knew that if I wanted to join them then I had to get my Troll on... I died my hair a bright blue and gelled it up into a long Trollish style - thanks to a wig from Tableau Vivant - wanting to match their crazy styles I painted my face with a little make-up and glued a troll gem into my chest...

The Guide of the Moon

Time to relax after a long day at work, I find myself dozing on the sofa and letting my mind drift into a slumber of sorts. I know that I should be taking a shower to unwind, but I cannot help myself, laying in the far and keeping my eyes closed to block out all of the noise of the day is a damn good idea... 
While my mind drifts off, I find myself floating into the clouds, the darkening clouds where the stars are slowly beginning to peek out and glitter the sky... 

Floating in the Starbright Starlight- which is actually an older backdrop from Synnergy - I found myself travelling just a little too high... The moon was clearly visible, but that's not what was the most surprising. As I peeped over the clouds, my eyes adjusting to the twinkling stars  and being so close to the moon, I realised that it was being held like a Moon Balloon - from Schadenfreude - by one of the most amazing creatures I've ever seen... A moonlit KIRIN Dragon - a beautiful release from Forest Fantasy Store that includes not just the gorgeous body tattoos, but various body spikes, horns, and a beautiful tail - in silver and white, was guiding the moon through the sky, surrounded by dancing Willow the Whisps - from Hextraordinary. So ethereal was she, such a magical dragonness of the moonlight...

Waking the Mushroom Fae!

It's so freaking hot today, another bloody heatwave and I'm desperate to get out of the heat. My office is under a flat roof, and there's no avoiding the heat upstairs, so I'm hiding down in a cave of my living room with everything closed. 
I'm craving Autumn, I want the cool crisp air, the feeling of leaves falling and that beautiful frost that settles over the ground I want the cold air, and the fact that I need to wrap up warm and snuggly... 
I've heard that things are changing, the fairy folk are preparing for their winter sleep whilst others are starting to wake... It's almost the time of the Autumn Fae... 

In the deepest, darkest parts of the forest, by the dark pond - a backdrop from Synnergy - there is a perfect environment for the hiding place for the Mushroom Fae. These pretty little dark fae need dark damp places just like their moisture loving fungal friends... These pretty little Autumn Fae decorate themselves with their favourite mushrooms, some are into the red with spots, others like the frills that grow on trees and the Rudhie version who loves the cute little brown button cups... She loves them so much they adorn her body - thanks to the amazing new release from Quills & Curiosities at the soon to open round of Enchantment - you'll have to excuse her mess though, she's just waking up from her Summer Slumber...

The Last Farewell of the Snow Fairy Queen

Yesterday, in the Netherlands, though in other places too, we had a snow storm,,, We woke up to a few inches of snow and it's gotten so cold, my fingers and toes are numb. The weather is slowly turning back towards a Spring normal today too, sun shine and the temperature is warming up again, albeit slowly... I'm beginning to wonder if it wasn't our friendly Spring Fairy - that made an appearance here over the past few years - popping back in to say hello before she disappears for her Summer Nap... 

She's disappearing towards Echo Ridge, where the last of the snow clings to the ground, as she's taking her last stroll through the woodland before finding a comfortable place to slumber. 
This fairy Ice Queen is looking a little worse for wear, as her skin is starting to show signs of frostbite that never normally affects her. Her ice outfit - from Antaya - is slowly beginning to melt, everything but her crown-like mask is slowly fading away to nothing...
