This weekend sees the closing of one of Second Life's BIGGEST hair events... Hair Fair 2016 will close it's doors for the year on July 31st with a special last day of shopping...
The last day of Hair Fair has always been a Bandana Day, in which shopping patrons are asked to throw off their SL wigs and instead wear a Bandana... While you were perusing the latest styles at the Hair Fair, you may have noticed the Bandana Booths. These are filled with a wonderful array of Bandanas in many different styles, colours and accessories, to fulfil anyone's chosen desire. Each of these is available for the low price of 50L, with 100% of the profits being donated straight to the charity - Wigs for Kids.
I'm going to be wearing my Bandana for the day... So I throw off my own SL wig and ask if you will perhaps do the same...
The bandana that I chose was one of the creations by LeLutka, who have added a big floppy sun hat to give the bandana just a little bit of vintage glamour... Least that was how it felt when I was fully dress and wearing a super cute outfit that I pulled together.
To compliment my bandana I chose to wear a a new Lulu Leather Jacket that is available from Addams at the latest round of Uber, with a pair of worn looking Addams jeans and some super cute chocolate coloured Brown Eyed Girl Boots by Entice - available now at Lost & Found.
It felt like the perfect outfit to go exploring in, maybe it was me channelling my inner Indiana Jones - the look is a bit reminiscent of that or am I wrong? - and I ended up finding a very beautiful and peaceful spot at the Gates of Melancholy to sit and contemplate the craziness that has been life as of late. It was like taking a breather... Something that was very much a necessity... Now I'm raring to go once more... Bring it on world... Bring it on, but only if you're wearing a Bandana!

I did it, I was a big brave girl and after a little bit of a mental shove I forced myself to come back in to the office. I always joke about how much of a rude word "work" is but in this case I have to tell you, and I know I complain about it a lot, that the place I work is kinda soul destroying. I really don't know how people can love working in a stark sterile office environment...
I am not going to let this bring me down today, I've been too strong recently to be weakened by the shell of a building. I've found that I can stand strong and stand by what I feel is right... So I am going to let my mind wander off into a fantasy realm, somewhere away from mundanity and into the bizarre...
Fluttery Butterfly worlds far away from normality!
Is it just me or when you see a butterfly in RL do you find yourself smiling too? I love watching them flutter, I love the delicate gracefulness and I love the colours.
Today I am in a magical land of butterflies... I've become one of them too... Just waiting for my wings to unfurl! With my new little FluffyFlutterFriend - from Lovely Alien - and a Static Caterpillar, I sit at wait... I already prepared myself for their emergence, pulling my hair up into this adorable style when my Moth Antennae started to grow.
My hair is a Hair Fair release from a store that I'd never heard of before this event by the way. It's a store called [Mello] and this Dreams style comes in some really cute magical colours, so find a new store and buy hair to raise some money fo the children while you're at it!!!
I hope my wings come in soon, I need to get out of this office again already LOL...

The beginning of a new week, and I am already feeling like I am running in robotic mode... I've been working my butt off in RL and in SL over the past week and it's not going to let up this week either as my RL boss is on vacation... Not complaining, thinking of the money, but seriously I am going to need a break after all this... Some time to do nothing but relax and do fun things...
Things like visit the little mermaid's grotto?!
I couldn't resist, there were just too many things drawing me to this point LOL...
The yardsale at DRD has been my biggest reason for this picture today... Not the Yardsale in the conventional Secondlife sense, the minds behind DRD are updating the store and some of their items that will disappear have been set out for cheap before they disappear... The Andolys items are part of this sale and I snatched all those things up pretty fast. This is the Ariels Cove Set.
This location then sparked the need for something mermaidy to wear... I found the perfect outfit at Fi*Friday. The pants and top are made by epoch, and it was the top's slogan that drew me to needing this outfit... I had to have them! Then I had to smoke some seaweed!

How did it get so hot so fast?! For the last few days I've felt like I've been melting and today is shaping up to be more of the same! I've never really been a fan of hot weather, I'm much more of an Autumn and Winter kind of girl. I mean OK when you go on Vacation, you want sunny weather but then you aren't stuck at home doing the chores and working the jobs and you can just kick back, relax and enjoy!
Still I guess being stuck to my computer due to working so much does have it's perks... I can spend more time in SL taking pictures than normal LOL... I'm exploring, shopping and taking some pretty pictures all at the same time, so I guess it's a little like a holiday?! Perhaps?!
It's exactly the case of what happened here... I'd been wearing a gorgeous new dress from Petite Mort - the Henna Slip Dress in a teal colour which is available at the current round of Tres Chic just in case you were wondering - and decided to take my new little buddy that I adopted recently on a walk somewhere different and new...
The location is a place called Neverfar, and it's got a serene but also haunting feel to it... It's definitely worth checking out.
If you're thinking about adopting a puppy like I did I should let you know that my new little friend is an adorable Countryside Collie from Jian. To adopt one is very simple, just head to their special adoptions location at The Epiphany and you too could walk away with your own adorable little friend...
OH while I'm rambling, there is one last thing that really does deserve a new noteworthy mention... My new favourite Hair! I seem to be wearing this all the time at the moment, and not only does it look cute, I donated to a great cause when I bought it! This is a Hair Fair release from the store Blues. I am kinda ashamed to admit it, but I've never really paid much attention to Blues hair until very recently... Maybe it's time I did a little more Blues shopping?!

Hello, My name is Rudhmellowen Laguna, and I am a Gacha Addict!
Felt like I should start this post off as if I am going to something akin to an AA meeting, because well frankly I am now fully aware of the fact that I have a bit of a gacha gambling addiction hehe... I like many people in SL am always finding myself thinking "Just one more try" and end up realising a little too late that my account balance now says "I hate you" rather than showing any money being present!
It's not entirely my fault though I mean if the designers that participate didn't put such cute stuff in the machines then I wouldn't have this problem would I?! Each and every Gacha Event outing - this time it's The Epiphany - there is ALWAYS one collection that I have to have a full set of, this time it was the fault of MishMish and Remarkable Oblivion by the way, and OK it's not like they are sitting there with a gun to my head making me buy things but... Well... Ya know... I NEEDED THE THINGS!
My tale today really starts when I dropped to the floor of my bedroom - I have this amazingly cute rug from Kalopsia and it has now become a part of my "work" space - to write a little post here about the new hair that I bought at Hair Fair... The style I am currently wearing is a Wasabi Pills release called Bubblegum. I'd gotten myself a new laptop and drawing pad from Cosmic Dust - yes those are Epiphany Gacha Items - and was going to break these bad boys in with a little bit of Rudhish creativity!
I wasn't able to focus all that long though... HellBone came home with groceries and let the cats in! Our MishMish kittens are right little tinkers, which by the way is a British expression meaning "mischievous children". Before I knew it, one was climbing all over my notes and the other was burying itself into the grocery bag... What the heck did Hell get at the supermarket!?! Meh, sod it, it's his mess to clean up... I'm just going to sit here and drink this yummy brocante Lemonade, and watch chaos take over! It's much more fun that way!!!

Hair Fair 2016 starts in just a few short hours and I have to say there are lots of lovely wigs for the ladies - and gents - that are Hair Obsessed... All in the name of a great cause.
Now over the next few weeks I'll be sharing some of the awesome degsigns that I picked up, long and updos and even a few shorter ones, and I will be explaining more about the cause, but I wanted to share with you some of the gifties that are available at the event.
My favourite gifts from all four of the sims...
First up... Backlot Central...
This is a hairstyle that is available from Blues, and I LOVE it... You can buy it as a donation item with a hud to change the design of the hat, but I wanted to share the special gift which supports the cause of the event - Wigs for Kids.
Then Backlot East...
This is a hairstyle from KoKoLoReS called Rue, and it has the Rachel look to it... Ya know the friends style that was soooooooo popular all those years ago. I'm also wearing the (fashionably dead) giftie which is the cute choker - or the Sweet Bow Choker - which comes in a set of a few colours!
Third sim on my list is Backlot North...
This hairstyle is the gift from Phoenix called Gracia, which screamed as something that was perfect with the amazing Moustache from Valient.
Lastly, the Backlot West...
The Amacci Hair is a cute updo that I couldn't resist sharing in pretty pinks, and it looks adorable with the pretty Hair Bow from Stealthic.

Hair Fair 2016 is coming... The biggest Hair event in the SL calender will be crash landing into a collection of sims near you in just a few days and I wanted to take a few minutes just to let you know about one of the many awesome aspects that Hair Fair has to offer...
Aside from the chosen charity of Wigs for Kids - something I have talked about before and will no doubt be talking about again soon - the organisation of this event is cleverly thought out and well executed.
So many helpful tricks have been put into the planning of the event - things like the buildings being phantom so you don'need to worry too much about lag, you can simply walk through the walls, and many other great little tricks...
One of my favourite tricks that this event has always had though will be the awesome Demo Group...
We all know these events get SUPER LAGGY, but trying things on is a nightmare, and I personally never buy hair without at least trying it on to see the shape of it.. The Hair Fair team have an amazing group to help combat this...
The event opens on Saturday July 16th, and if you're anything like me you're feeling excited, but prior to that on Friday 15th - that's this coming Friday - the participating designers of Hair Fair 2016 will be sending their demos to a specially created group... This will mean that you're able to get your hands on the demos and try before you fight the lag!

One of the biggest shopping events on the SL calendar is coming, and for those people that are addicted to buying Hair, this is one that is definitely worth knowing about... I'm talking of course about Hair Fair 2016, the biggest hair event in SL that raises thousands of dollars every year for an amazing cause, helping to give children with cancer a little less to worry about!
Hair Fair brings together a truck-load of SL's Hair Designers - some well known, others not so - each offering exclusive styles to raise money for the charity "Wigs for Kids" and in the coming weeks I will be talking more about the charity, the event and some of the awesome hairstyles available... Yet for now I want to inspire you, and let you know about the AWESOME prizes you can win if you fancy entering the Hair Fair's "Whatever the Weather" Photography contest!
A little inspiration perhaps from a crazy rambling blogger! I wanted to create something that fitted with the theme of the contest - although I myself won't be entering - I couldn't resist using another pose prop from Exposeur and letting my inner princess out again hehe...
The theme of the contest is "Whatever the Weather", so any contest entry MUST not only focus on hair, but also have a subtle - or not so subtle depending on your ideas - nod towards the weather... My princess was trapped in a tower, that was so high she was up with the clouds and caught by some strong winds, for example!
Now as with any competition, there are a few simple rules! Firstly you need to use one of the hairs from the list of participating designers - I cannot list these all here as there are a lot of them, so I advise that you check out the list on the Hair Fair Photography Contest Web Page before you begin snapping - the web page also shows the full list of rules for this contest, but one of the most important is that there is to be NO NUDITY! That's right people, keep your clothes on, this is an event for children after all... If you're that keen to get naked, you can do it later LOL... OH AND REMEMBER, HAIR IS IMPORTANT IN THE PICTURE, make it your focus LOL... It's HAIR FAIR after all!!!
All that said though, you should check out the HUGE list of prizes for this contest... First prize winners get 3 full fatpacks from ALL Prize Sponsors, lots of store credits, a VR Studio and VIP Access to the event for themselves and 5 friends!! That's not all though, there will be prizes for second and third places AND 7 Runners Up - all of which will get early access for at least one friend to shop!!!
