Trip to the Hanky Panky Store

Sometimes you get inspired to take a different kind of photo... Some people stop taking pictures of themselves to take photos of furniture and decor, others do landscapes - neither of which I am very good at by the way! - but when I start taking pics that are a little different, I somehow cannot get past the vanity of taking pictures of myself LOL...
Though shot in a different way, I seem to shoot myself more than anyone else, and granted sometimes that can get a little boring - it does stop me worrying quite so much about whether people will like it or not LOL - but I try to mix it up, and sometimes find that the back view is better than the front LOL...
This was one of those outfits.
The back was what caught my attention most, due to the fact that from the front, this looks like a fairly basic simple black sweater, it's only when you turn around you can see that it's far from basic. The {dollle*} Open Shoulder Crop Sweaters are available for the latest round of The Candy Shop - normally this is an event I will glance through on Seraphim, but pay no real attention to as it's not my style... Just goes to show that sometimes things we'd normally avoid are just what we want?!
I dressed it fairly casual, wearing some oldie-but-goodie ripped shorts from SAKIDE and ripped AMERIE socks with my new FLite Military Aviator Boots, and stomped around in the Urban Setting of Virtual Decay, until I found a store I just had to visit hehe...

Pile Ups... Maybe? Or a Look of the Day!

I normally would never post anything asking for pile-ups, I tend to get a little scared of them...
I find myself thinking why would anyone want to pile up a picture of me?! It's not like I am well known, or even make good enough pictures LOL... But then today I was looking through Flickr and I found a request on one of the people I follow's feeds... Simply put it said "I want YOUR pile ups. Please" - on the photo stream of Dementia Navarita - and well I thought, her pictures are so pretty that I just had to try and see if she would make one for me too?!?
This is the photo I took of myself, wearing what I was going to pose in... See I'm not even brave enough to Pile Up myself LOL... So we can call it a look of the day if you will LOL...
Today I am wearing, one of my favourite - and kinda perfect for me - slogan tops. It's a Drape Sweater that you can pick up from BabyDoll at Sad November, but I'm sure you can see what attracted me to it LOL... To accentuate the less than normal me, I wore an awesome necklace from the minds behind Zombie Suicide, The rest of my look was fairly "normal" though, I mean OK short shorts might be a bit strange as the days are getting colder, and devil horns, may also be a little strange now that Halloween is over, but meh it's me! LOL...
I put the pile up pictures I will be loading into Flickr into a collage here... That takes up less space, and makes them easier to load up... If you're reading this and wanted to try piling me up please do so, I WOULD LOVE TO SEE IT!

Autumn Colours

One of the reasons that I am most in love with the Autumn - or Fall - season is the change in the colours... Don't get me wrong I LOVE seeing lots of greens when Spring is in full force, but the firey colours of Autumn always make me feel happier!
Maybe it is the time of year that animals start hibernating, or maybe it's due to the fact that we get to start wearing the cosier style clothing, but this time of year makes me want to snuggle up and watch the colours in the trees change!
This has to be one of my favourite pictures I've taken as of late, and the reason is the way that it all seems to work so effortlessly... The colours, the outfit, the lighting and even the pose just make the photo seem natural, as if Rudh was just wandering through the long grasses on a hazy Autumn Day!
The location of Alirium is just perfect for that late Autumn feeling...
The outfit was one that I just randomly pulled on but instantly found myself in that warm snuggly feeling, and I KNEW I would need to go somewhere to take pictures of it hehe...
Along with my adorable Ploom Pwny Pigtails and the deer headband, I kept accessories simple, finding the perfect necklace from n-creation, which is an oldie but a classic I had been waiting for just the right time to use. Both the Jacket - with it's shirt - and the jeans are things I have worn before but you have to love when you find things in your hoard that just work!!! I was more than a little excited and when the photo came out like this well... For me at least that never happens hehe...

Dance in your Underwear in the Rain!

Sometimes you just need to throw open the doors and dance in the rain, if you're brave enough to do it in your underwear even better. Sometimes it's exactly what you need to be able to let go, and it feels like a good scream. Dancing in the rain, for me, is a release I need sometimes and maybe people think I'm crazy but a little crazy is good hehe...
When I saw this underwear set from Pixicat - that will be available at Collabor88 until November 7th, and yes it has taken me that long to find time away from horror to post a pretty from the October Collabor88 - I knew I had to have it. The colours are more than a little different for me, but I couldn't resist them. So feminine, so pretty, even if my waist is a little too thin... The waist size has sparked a bit of a discussion amongst my friendship group, all the girls suggesting it looks like it would hurt and a couple of the boys saying something along the lines of it giving me a good figure. I personally cannot help looking back at this fashion and feeling more than a little sorry for the women who used them. In the past I've been involved with re-enactment - or living history - I had to wear a corset and MAN did it hurt, wearing one this narrowing would be like a form of torture!
I accessorised my dancing in the rain outfit simply, wearing my hair pulled up in a messy bun - courtsey of the Magika Beans style - and the perfect sash - created by [Commoner] - for someone who secretly runs her MC as the boys "act" like the kings of it LOL...

What is she wearing;
Hair: Magika - Beans
Skin: Glam Affair - Candy Skin in America 09 (Past Arcade Item)

Keep Your Eyes Open

Now, Halloween might be over, but coming from me, I'd hope that you know by now I am always going to veer more towards the macabre than the girlie... Right?!
So, that having been said I was browsing through a selection of notecards for new releases and DAMN when my eyes fell upon the releases from [ContraptioN] over at the latest round of Uber - with this month's Macabre theme - I couldn't get into the event fast enough hehe...
There was actually a lot more that I wanted from the event than I had initially thought... First though let me talk to you about the [ContraptioN] items hehe...
The Death's Smile Mask is simply two wires of teeth over the mouth. They don't move, so if you are one of the people that talk on voice and watch the lips move, then you might be in for a bit of a shock when they remain static, but don't they look awesome?!
The Wide-Sight Eye attachment is a little different, because the eyeball is fixed to your own eyes, the thing moves LOL... It weirded Jimmy out a little, and that made me crack up laughing - weird Rudh score 1 LOL...
Whilst shopping at Uber - which is where you can currently grab these awesome [ContraptioN] goodies - I also found this great hair from little bones... It comes with the laces in one side, and two different variations of fringe!
My dress is an oldie but one of my favourites, and it seemed to look perfect with the new chokers from Cute Poison. These chokers are available for the Rumplestiltskin themed round of Enchantment, which as I mentioned before is where you buy an item, get a stamp card and collect the stamps from each of the participating stores then head to their secret location to chose a prize from a collection made up of all of the participating designers! The difference is with this and some of the other items that can be bought for Enchantment is that these items are from a gacha machine!
The location is one to check out too... It's by the creator Cica Ghost, and I LOVE everything that comes outta this creative mind! This time Little Town seems a little Steampunkish and maybe a little Burtonesque?!

What is she wearing;
Spider: Nuville - Item available at the Event Nuville Horrors!
Hair: little bones - (Side) Voodoo (Available now at Uber)
Eyes: n-creation - Zombie Eyes
Eye Attachment: [ContraptioN] - Wide-Sight Eye (Available now at Uber)

Choker: Cute Poison - First Born Choker (Available now for Enchantment)

One last Halloween Hoorah!

I can't leave Halloween behind, I have ONE last little bit that I am clinging on to! I promise that I need to just get this one out and then no more until next year, I'm dead anyway so it won't change my style BUT seriously just let me have one more LOL...
The reason for my excitement is that on Halloween, someone very special to me, took me to somewhere that I fell in love with and have been back to many times since in the past two days hehe... I'm talking about Nuville!
Nuville is the brainchild creation of Suetabulous Yootz - owner of Beetlebones - and Anya Ohmai - of OhMai!, and OH MY GOD is it worth checking out! Normally I might have been put off by the 100L - for 12 hours access - fee but seeing all of the effort, all of the cuteness and well all of the prizes too, it was SO WORTH IT! I don't want to tell you too much, I want you to see it for yourselves... If you don't you WILL be missing out! It's like going into a Tim Burton Movie!!!
Anyway, I'm not going to talk about that, I don't want to spoil things for people that go to visit! I will talk about my outfit instead...
Starting with the accessories, because well they are pretty awesome! The Crow, the Blob, the bloody drink and the skull are all Trick or Treat Prizes from Nuville... ANOTHER REASON you don't want to miss this event LOL...
I wore some cute Devil Horns - part of the headbands available and newly released from Ploom to work with some of their new hairstyles - and some adorable Spooky Spectacles that I picked up from Boogers at a kids Halloween event hehe... The addition of one of my favourite wounds - complete with it's embedded saw blade - from Death Row Designs and my accessories were ready!
The dress was another reason I wanted to talk one last time about Halloween LOL... It's a Jack'O'Lantern, I couldn't really say it was just an Autumn look could I?  It's a :{MV}: creation that you can pick up from a rat whilst you wander around Don't Panic - the Pulse Games Event! OH and the socks, such a perfect colour match for the dress, are available now at the latest round of My SLINK Obsession from SongBird!

The Day of the Dead is upon us!

The Day of the Dead follows Halloween, like a quiet that follows a storm... HAPPY DIA DE LOS MUERTOS... You know me, anything to do with the dead I will celebrate it!
But what is Dia de los Muertos??!
Today - November 1st - is the Day of the Dead, when translated from Spanish, and is a Mexican holiday to remember the deceased. Today in Mexico the dead will be remembered with gifts left to private altars, which include marigolds and Sugar Skulls...
Sugar Skulls seem to decorate SL around this time of year too... That skull with it's adornment of pretty colours and flowers... This may sound weird, but if I die I want to be remembered with those! LOL! - By the way this is not me mocking anyone, this is genuine, I LOVE Sugar Skulls!
So for my Day of the Dead look, I wanted to create something pretty, yet Rudhified - although strangely I went for a colour that I don't normally have much to do with... BLUE?!
The face paint is an Ama creation, that could be won from a gacha machine around the same time of the Twisted Hunt. It was available in a variety of colours, but the turquoise one was best for what I wanted hehe... The eyes are oldies, but goodies from REPULSE and the hair is a new release from Ploom called Pwny - you're supposed to wear it with a hairband, and you may well see that here at other times, but I angled my camera so I didn't need one LOL... SORRY for being cheeky! I do have a bald strip here!
Though as always, it was the accessories that I went to town on... The crown was something that was a hunt prize - although that may have changed, I'm hoping you can still get your hands on it! It is a Cute Poison Clockwork Crown, and being honest I felt that it worked well with a Day of the Dead rememberance look. You're remembering a time when someone is alive, and remembering that time the person was around... So why not wear a crown that looks like it's made from the hands of a clock?
Last to mention, although it is one of the most obvious aspects, is the Aurora Tiara from Modern.Couture! It's big, it's garish, it's flowers and gemstones and it seems pretty perfect for a Sugar Skull! How could I resist?!

What is she wearing;
Tiara: Cute Poison - Clockwork Crown (Available now as a Sinister Steampunk Hunt Prize)
Flowers: Modern.Couture - Aurora Tiara in Blue (Past Event Release)
Hair: Ploom - Pwny
Skin: Glam Affair - Candy Skin in America 09 (Past Arcade Item)
Face Wounds: (Under the Eyes) Utopiah - Excessive Pain Makeup
Eyes: REPULSE - Bane Eyes in Gold Sclera
Make-Up: Ama - Twisted Soul Eater in Turquoise
