SL DisneyBound - Week 8

OK this week, our lovely DisneyBound Challenger - Miss Natalee Oodles - threw us a bit of a curve ball by hitting us with a twofer! Two Disney Characters in one! This week we have an oh-so-cute Disney couple to deal with, and OK I am a little bit late in getting this one together, but I've been so busy that I haven't had time to work on the Disney look until yesterday!
Anyway, when I told HellBone that it was a couples week for the Disney Bounding this week, he had a look of sheer horror - there he was hoping for some villain and he was met with me telling him about the fact he needed to look like Aladdin LOL... I don't really have to tell you as it is pretty obvious, but this week Jasmine is without her Aladdin! Sorry Natalee, I tried but he was having none of it LOL... Though I do love my Jasmine look, still me and yet a bit of a pretty girlie look than normal - definitely a different colour than I would normally wear too!
Week 8 - Jasmine
The only Disney Princess with a somewhat Arabic appearance - and possibly the first non-white Disney Princess, this one is another Princess with a feisty side. Falling for a man with a flying carpet - so she can beat the rush hour traffic maybe? Having a tiger as a pet, and proving that aqua coloured harem pants are actually ok as clothing in cartoons - though I am not sure about them otherwise.
So for my Jasmine look I tried to find some of those balloon style pants... IT SO WASN'T HAPPENING... Then I tried for a long skirt and nothing was looking right, similar problem with short skirts, that was until I looked on the marketplace however... I found these adorable skirts from 8+ on the marketplace, and couldn't resist. The net skirt texture is pretty and it looks like a light, soft tutu material, perfect for summer wear I feel. I bought this blue version and then had to go back for a black one. I might even get some other colours too hehe. After that my Jasmine look just fell into place!
Aladdin kept me waiting on the roof of the palace for a magic carpet ride but least I was waiting around looking fabulous! I just hope he can find me, I took a trip to the Mumtaz Taj Mahal... Where did I put that cellphone so I can check he knows where to pick me up!

For Aeva Heartsick

You may or may not have heard about a special fundraiser that is running now until May 14th in aid of the designer Amesha Jewell. This is a fundraiser that some people have been more than a little opposed to, from what I have heard, but when I was pointed in the direction of the event by my good friend AliceAnn I had to go and do some investigation!
The event is in aid of raising funds to help Miss Jewell continue her skin creation by starting a collection to fund a new PC. Now I know that I normally try to avoid controversy and drama in here, but this event seems to have stirred some up and so I am hoping to not land myself in anything too piranha infested by discussing the event. I know that some "charity" or fundraising events can be seen as places where scams are running, and I know that if things turn out to be a scam then that really mess things up for the designers, but as a shopper I don't feel I have a right to complain. I get the goodies I buy like I would at any other place... It affects the designers more than it would affect me, yet with this event and the organisers it would seem to me that the scam that is supposedly running here seems more of a myth than anything. It would appear to be a bunch of lovely people, helping someone they admire and care about to carry on creating and making other people, shoppers like me, feel happy!
Aeva Heartsick skins make me feel happy, and I was planning on photographing them for this post, but there was just so much pretty released with donations going to the cause that I had trouble choosing what to post, needless to say my wallet was pulled out fast and I bought a fair few goodies!
I was playing around with different things I bought... I have things that I didn't show such as some gorgeous necklaces, but these two items that are in the photo are some of my favourite things. I LOVE this hair from The Stringer Mausoleum - it's called Universa... The dancing avatar is also a special creation for the event by Miss AliceAnn of Lamp*Light - based on the dancing girl avatar from Just Dance - the Love Song Avatar includes EVERYTHING you could possibly need to make yourself into a Just Dance Character hehe... I loved dancing around in her...
Don't miss out on the For Aeva Heartsick Event... There are some great goodies, for a great cause, and even if you aren't interested in the cause the goodies are worth going to check out!!!

The Gators MC

For a while now you may have heard me rambling about Hell having started his own biker MC in SL... Let me introduce you to the rag-tag mob that is the Gators MC...
From L-R (and Back - Front): Charles, G-Man, Jamal, Kiki, HellBone, Me, Trouble, Juli, Dreamy and Angel
I've had so far fairly poor experiences of the SL MC circuit and I don't mind admitting that here, so far I've encountered enough people that would back stab, ignore or generally make me feel out of place considering I don't dress to fit the biker chick mould - which just for the record seems to be lots of leather and barely any clothing hehe... Yet this group, is totally different, the focus is on fun and friendship. Its currently small, and we have decided to stay at 30 people as a maximum, and being the Sgt@Arms (or third in rank and head of security to those of you like me who had no idea LOL) it's my job to make sure that the group isn't affected by drama... Anyone causing drama will be made to feel the wrath of my spiky boots hehe...
The party tonight is our official launch onto the biker MC circuit, and so we are having to make a huge impression - a good one we hope, but as I've been organising it, I am getting majorly stressed out hehe... Still, it's not just a party for the bikers, if anyone who reads my ramblings wants to come and see what I've been getting up to you're more than welcome... We have a really great schedule of events going on, so as I can use this space to pimp out the club and it's party that is precisely what I plan on doing!

The XYRoom Gacha Event has SUGAR!

By now you probably know I am gacha addicted, but when I was shown the items for this month's special XYRoom Gacha Event from Sugar, by Miss Iokko Molko - the store's owner - I bounced around like a kid in a candy store. I NEEDED these skirts to complete my outfit, it was the perfect item that I had been searching through my wardrobe hoard for... I HAD to have it!
Normally in RL I don't mind wearing a skirt but I wouldn't ever really wear something this short. OK so it's not as short as I do wear them by SL standards. The skirt I've chosen with my outfit is the super-ultra rare version in the gacha by Sugar for the XYRoom Gacha event - which runs from May 1st until the end of the month I believe, although it seems advertising for it has been a little low key as I had to scout around to find a LM to the actual location. Yet these skirts in their full range of colours would be perfect for any summertime outfit, the colours are so vibrant and the material is silky and soft looking giving it a brilliant feeling of movement and a lightness that seems to be lacking sometimes. Can you tell I really like these skirts?! I loved skipping around in Jasmine Ballinger's garden wearing this too... Thanks again Jasmine for letting me play here hehe...
I have to share with you the official key to the different skirts, but I think these will definitely be something you see coming out of my inventory int he near future... They are fun colours that are simply perfect for the upcoming warm months... Bring on the Summer!

Oh What To Wish For?!!

A Meme perhaps? Miss Singh has become the genie in this proverbial lamp, and provided us with another of her interesting memes... This time involving wishes...
To be honest, right now, there is one thing that we have in SL which I would really wish for in RL, and that is the teleport function. You might have noticed that I've been quiet for a few days - my parents have been over in Holland visiting - and to be even more honest, it wasn't long enough. The hardest part about my relationship with HellBone is being away from the family in the UK, and although I should be happy that they were able to visit I am not afraid to admit that I cried when I dropped them off at the train station yesterday - SO that would be the big thing I'd wish for...  RL teleporting!
Yet OK the meme is about wishes for our SL... So, get my head in the game... Walking along a beach in the rain - I like being on the beach in the rain, I love being on a beach when it's empty hehe - I find a lamp half buried in the sand, I rub it clean and a genie appears to grant me three wishes for my SL... Decisions, Decisions, What do I wish for???
1. I wish people treated each other better in their SecondLives. You hear so many stories about people acting like they never would in a RL situation, I guess it's a kind of anonymity thing, but when people behind the avatars get hurt as feelings cannot be turned off, it seems like the SL world is allowing for people to treat each other badly. I'm sure that like a vast majority of people in SL I've had hurts that could have been avoided if people showed more curtesy like they would have in RL, though I guess I can at least say these hurts have made me a stronger person and in the end I am better for having dealt with them!
2. I wish that SL had a better reputation. OK so I borrowed the wording for this one from Miss Singh, but as I feel the same about things, there are only so many ways that a girl can say it! I like Berry feel that I cannot share my Secondlife experience with everyone, and in some cases in the past when I have I am met with very blank or even "uh-huh heard all about it" faces. I have the problem of explaining where I met HellBone to people and will often just say I met him online, rather than being able to proudly admit that I met him in SL. There seems to be a bit of a stigma attached to the game and it does seem to be due to the fact that people outside of SL only know of the "game" through media that has focused on the virtual sex industry. I also wish that I could make people in RL see there is a LOT more to SL than just sexually orientated roleplay.
3. I wish I got more recognition as a blogger and photographer. My final wish is a little selfish I know, but a girl needs to get something in there for herself sometimes. I could have asked for skills at building or a never-ending supply of Lindens, but to be honest I would rather know that people enjoy reading my ramblings and looking at my photos. Sometimes it seems silly, I write my blog for me - as a means of letting off steam - yet when I am feeling particularly low and someone is talking about how they have loads of readers and comments, I know it's just boasting to make themselves feel better but in the wrong mood I question myself as to why I do this. It never takes long to stop thinking that way as I love my blog and couldn't ever give it up right now, and I love the fact that people do read and comment on what they like, so thank you for that!
Three wishes over, I need to go find a wishing well, or maybe if I'm lucky I can borrow a certain Fairy BobMother's wand...  Thank you for the Meme Berry... I can't wait for the next one!

Flowers in Her Hair for Horror Haute April

A second outing for some of the woeful and horrific items that have been released this month, as part of the Horror Haute line up, and strangely enough my second post for today, which is unreal because I've barely had time to think in the last few days let alone actually think about blogging lol...
Back blogging a new found addiction too - lol that would be Corvus in case you hadn't realised - and this top is normally something I'd never wear too, so that's a first for me.
I hear you asking me why I'd never wear a top like this... Well it's not actually the top's fault, I obviously like it or I wouldn't have bothered to go to the effort of making it a central aspect of this photo, but the thing is normally I'd avoid wearing anything with a pretty face on it like this. I'm not entirely sure why as I have no trouble wearing things with cartoon faces, but a pretty face - although zombiefied - I dunno I just tend to avoid them... This one I just couldn't resist however, it seemed to fit perfectly with the pink version of the Giselle Hair released by Wasabi Pills for FLF last week, and then by adding the pretty Maiden Wreath that I spotted on Free*Style that reminded me so much of when I was a kid and could have made a profession of making daisy chains, the look just seemed to call out to me. Of course being a human wouldn't have worked however, least not a living one in any case so Living Dead Girl me got another day in the limelight to show off her awesome new brand from Crushed Violets that was bought on that woeful day of the week, Wednesday!

SL DisneyBound - Week 7

Once again the week rolls round and we head into another Disney Movie to play with the style of a new character. This week Miss Natalee Oodles - Disney Challenger Extraordinaire - takes us into the realm of an ancient ruler, somewhere that could be Incan, Mayan or Peruvian, though it seems to combine the three LOL - a land known as Kuzconia...
As a huge fan of the Disney Movies, I am often hard pushed to name my favourite movie, but I think this would have to rank up there in my top 5 at least... The Emperor makes me laugh so hard, and sometimes when feeling totally random I will be heard using his catchphrase "BOOM BABY!"
WEEK 7 - EMPEROR KUZCO (From The Emperor's New Groove!)
Definitely one of the coolest Disney male leads, I love Kuzco. He's an arrogant, hot headed, young Emperor that has a bit of a nasty accident at the hands of the evil - but oh so funny with it - Yzma and her bungaling sidekick Kronk. He gets turned into a Llama and has to find his way back to the palace to get himself changed back and ensure Yzma doesn't get to take over his throne. Luckily he manages to become human again, after a Disney style lesson in being nice to people, until for a fleeting moment when he's accidentally transformed into a Llama once again, something that causes one of my favourite lines... "I'm a Llama Again!" LOL gotta love shouting that randomly - usually when someone in SL is acting like a Drama Llama around me...
So my look for Kuzco fell into place fairly easily. I wore an old, but awesome dress from Paper.Doll and teamed it with a swimsuit top from BOOM to get the red and gold effect, some huge blue disk earrings from Maxi Gossamer, a chunky gold armband cuff and big beaded necklace completed this look to an extent. The problem that I was having was with the headdress. I KNOW that this is about representing a character in our own style, but anything that I put on my head just wasn't Kuzco enough for me, I NEEDED that headdress... In stepped my new superhero, Nai - partner in crime to Miss AliceAnn of Lamp*Light - he provided me the perfect headdress, a non-rigged mesh Kuzco headdress... It's BRILLIANT! He has entered my pantheon of design superheros! They've suggested that it will be on sale at Lamp*Light very soon... Watch that space!
OH AND one more thing, go check out the location. The University of Washington Virtual Biodome, there is loads to see and it's really educational... I think I'll be going back for a wander around as soon as I'm not Kuzco hehe...
