OK SO I know that I'm a little early with Halloween themed posts but I figure it's half way through September and I'm trying to do things that cheer me up at the moment, and well Halloween and dead Rudh seems to be one of those things, that's why today I'm doing something a little dark and macabre... Little did I think that I'd be able to work on a picture of someone that has died, after recent event, but it seems that the horror pictures are one of Rudh's happy places!!! So anyway, as I said, it's ALMOST HALLOWEEN, my favourite time of the year!!! I love the other holidays too, well some more than others anyway, but I always get so excited right about this time of year hehe... I'm going to start off my Halloween fun a little early, and get myself into the spirit of the season...
We're currently setting up for the Halloween Event that takes place every year at the Gators MC sim, and boy is it a LOT of work... It's that time of the month again, Pandora's Box has officially opened for July and this time we are heading on a dark and twisted journey into the world that is Dark Japan. Now I know I said this before, and I have no trouble saying it again, that I was and maybe still am, a little concerned about how I will handle this month. I know very little about the Japanese culture, and feel a bit like I might make a mess of things, but once the box was opened I was pleasantly surprised... There were lots of lovely things that I will be able to use and enjoy, to bring new and interesting characters to life... The summer seems to have finally shown it's pretty warm head here in Holland over the past two days and BLIMEY IT'S HOT!!! I know I shouldn't complain after the long gray Winter that we've had but seriously it's like the temperature has jumped way up and rather than being nice warm, it's humid sticky warm!!! UGH!!! I'm so not a girl that is built for the warm summer weather! Sunshine I love, but not the heat LOL... I'm going to take a leaf out of Rudh's book today and head to the beach!!!

She's wearing such an adorable beach-ish outfit, that seems perfect for spring. I believe in love at first sight, I really do. Sometimes it happens with people and animals, but there have been MANY times in my life that I have fallen in love with things that I need to own. When I was younger it was toys, then handbags, but that is RL. In SL it's clothes that tend to get my love at first sight senses tingling. I'm not superficial, I'm not the kind of girl that needs material things, and SL has provided me with a RL Love at first sight in the form of my ever suffering HellBone, but now that I have him it's clothes, clothes and more clothes! OH and don't forget shoes, hair and jewellery too LOL... This is one of those things, today I am going to share with you a love at first sight dress...

Sometimes you have days when you feel like you are floating... While your body goes through the motions and tries to carry on as normal, your mind drifts and floats, and it's at times like these when it's very hard to feel a true sense of normality. Today is one of those days for me... I feel like I'm in a dream...
I got a little over the top creative, and I'm not sure how well I did with it or not... My mind went to a place where you're able to glimpse the future... In this case an evil dead dolly, holding what appears to be something powerful, a sceptre or a staff perhaps - in this case a Violetility Void Staff... She has undergone a transformation of sorts, no longer just a living dead doll, now she has added vampire fangs and a wound marking her as truly evil... She'd finally found her calling! I don't honestly know why I am in an evil mood today, I'm very tired yes, but had a very much needed date night to a concert in RL with HellBone, so I should be happy lol... In fact, I think I need to stop talking, maybe I'll take a nap and try to get rid of this sleepy feeling... I'll let you enjoy this pretty dream of mine, and a little of the band I went to see last night as a treat!

I've been watching a TV show on the History Channel - yes my inner geek is very happy at the moment - called Barbarians Rising recently... It's a docudrama about the so called barbarians that took on the Roman Empire in an attempt to save their homelands and people, and actually it's pretty good... Having studied Archaeology I tend to get a little bit geeky and will sometimes be known to shout at a screen that "that isn't right" so the fact I'm thinking it's good is telling you something LOL... It's also gotten my blogger mojo working in overdrive... I WANT TO DO SOMETHING BARBARIANISH!!! Only problem is, I don't want to stick to true Barbarian... I want to give it that fantasy, sexed-up, video game style Barbarian Warrior Girl twist... SO that's that I did LOL...
It's really not hard to find the right bits and pieces in SL to make an outfit like the one I wanted... I really didn't need to look all that hard for it - in fact I got very lucky that I'd been sent all the items I needed as a blogger, which is one of the many perks I guess - yet once the pieces were added together, I was more than happy about the fantasy, sexed-up, video game style Barbarian Warrior Girl twist look I'd pulled together! The basis of the outfit was this awesome outfit from Lassitude & Ennui - for the current round of We <3 RP until September 30th - is the Conqueror Set, shown here in Steel... It went perfectly with the accessory I chose to add from Paper Moon. The Necklace of Da'at is Paper Moon's release for The Secret Affair this month - I'm hoping that the large stone in the middle will distract from a few of those bruises that she's been getting in fights! Now before I finish running around like a Barbarian Warrior skank - lol - I wanted to share details of the sim with you... This was taken at Skarvald, and I highly recommend it if you're looking for a Vikingesque location, either to roleplay or take pictures in... Summer seems to have come and gone here at the moment, not that I am complaining because I am really not someone that enjoys the heat but temperatures have cooled a little and the skies overhead are often more of a greyish than brilliant blue. Although I don't really like hot, I do like sunshine - almost as much as I love the rain - and so I do feel a little sad it's gone already. I love that soft spring sunshine... Luckily SL can be as sunny or rainy as we want it to be. When we want hot feeling weather, there are ways to do that, when we want rain there are ways to do that too... I guess at least where the sunshine is concerned this works for me, I get the pretty sunshine without being too hot LOL...
I don't have a figure like Rudh that I could show off when it gets hot in RL, and it's times like that when you want to be wearing as little clothing as possible LOL... So when I I feel too hot in RL the last thing I want to do is see my barbie doll in something too heavy looking LOL... That's about the time Rudh is stripped off... Though OK she's barely dressed a lot anyway... In this particular case I found an outfit that was so soft and light looking that I couldn't resist wearing it in the hot weather we'd had in RL recently... It's an outfit from Wonderlost called Olivia and the Boho pieces are mix and match so you can buy these gorgeous printed skirts and the loose tied tops as seperates meaning you can mix and match your colours! I will admit though that these are available until the end of today at The Secret Affair, but hopefully they will be available in the mainstore before to long too! I kept my accessories very Boho, wearing a Celeste Wig from Truth with a matching Coin Choker from Kibitz and finished off with a large beaded Cresent Talisman Necklace from (Yummy), so my look was complete... Then I just needed somewhere to explore... Somewhere cool and shady, yet with a beachy refeshing breeze perhaps... That's when I ended up at It all starts with a Smile... A gorgeous tropical beach bar and jungle style location... PERFECT for a boho Rudh to laze around in and explore... I'm still on a roll with playing around with things that are a little different... Today I wanted to go in a totally different direction and do something a little pretty, a little fantasy, and possibly a little crazy... Well I personally think that I have achieved just what I wanted with that goal... The look I chose is pretty and a little fantasy, and the place that I went to take the photo made not only myself but one of my dear friends go a little crazy - and that was totally unintentional.
The location I re-discovered and decided would be a fun background was the munchkin land at The Magic of Oz... It's just so cute, filled with fantastic colours, not to mention a super fun trip down the yellow brick road lol... Regardless, the location was what caused madness this time. Lil and I were talking during our early morning coffee chat and while I was there photographing a certain Oz based song - "We're off to see the Wizard" if you must know lol - popped into my head and there was no shutting me up LOL... From the look of things though, my dress up today saw Rudh get turned into a new Good Witch of Oz... I'm not sure good witch would work for me, but anything is worth a try LOL... The look was started because I had an outfit with the MOST AMAZING looking sheer cape from Stargazer Creations - it comes with an outfit called Priestess Cassandra that was available at Create Your Own Tarot - although I'm not sure if the event is still running or if it has closed for the month *facepalms*... The sparkling irridesence of that cape was offset by a pair of similarly irridescent Wishbox wings, I then dressed the rest of me down a little bit, wearing a cute but simple Faelynn outfit from SAKIDE. To give this new good witch a mode of transport - I mean Glinda has her bubbles so I needed something - I rescued these amazing Huntress Panthers from Alchemy. They are gacha releases and have thus meant I spent far too much money trying to free them but I feel they make the perfect companions for a Witch of Oz...

Fears about things can be controlling and all consuming at times, and I know that everyone has their own fears and ways of dealing with them, be they phobias - like I have with aliens - or be they those things that keep niggling at you in RL... Financial worries or worries about people... All of these things can affect your mood in so many ways... Right now I am worrying about the latter, trying not to let it affect me but still hoping that things remain as they are and should be... Luckily when I am feeling this way, the one thing that really helps me is putting together a look to reflect that mood... It helps me to channel all of my thoughts and feelings into something positive - you've no doubt seen photos when I've been totally empty and can tell when my mood becomes lighter again... This is one of those times when I feel pretty bleh...
Can you tell?! Of course it has nothing to do with the things featured in the photograph - I blog what I love and these things are no different - but the fact I'm not in a kawaii crazy mood does give the game away a little... I won't go into details but yea, at the moment things are a little bit tough!! Still let's focus on the pretty, seeing as that is what makes me happy at times like this, and boy the things I have in this photo are VERY PRETTY!! The starting point for this look was a new release from Lassitude & Ennui - for The Secret Affair this month - I was stuck to chose the metal tone that I wanted to use, it is just a gorgeous set! It comes in three tones - silver, gold or black - and includes not only the tiara, the short necklace and the nipple covers, but also a longer necklace too... I wanted to keep the look simple, but decided that I needed something a little bit more to complete the somewhat dead queen look that I was going for... Thankfully I had the gorgeous Akasha Necklace from DirtyStories that would be perfect! Then as per usual, when I am going dead, I went to town on make up! I was already wearing Insufferable Dastard's Zombie Eyes, but then when I surrounded them with eye make-ups from Gothica - the black look - and PixyStix - the red liner, it looked more evil than I could have hoped for... YAY I was pleased... All I needed was a massive scar, thank you antielle, and the evil dead queen who represents my fears at the moment was complete!!!
